6 months later...

Tenrou Island, Hades' ship.

Lucy's P.O.V.

The power flowing off of Natsu made the hairs on the back of my neck stand. Laxus came back at the right time, but even an s-class wizard like him was no match for Hades. I looked down at my trembling hands. He's one of the strongest wizards Fairy Tail has, and he couldn't win against this man...

My eyes shot back up to Natsu as his body swirled with the unlikely mixture of lighting and fire, the elements moved around him as if they obeyed him. His face was twisted with the power that flowed through him and his eyes were dark with the anger he had for the man that stood before us all. Natsu... Natsu is the strongest Fairy Tail has, not by magic power but in spirit. I looked on in awe. I had admired Natsu constantly for the year I have known him, his constant ability to surprise his own power to protect those he holds dear. Tear pricked at my eyes, if this doesn't work...

Natsu arched his body back preparing an attack that engulfed the room in magic energy.

"Lightning Flame Dragon: Roar!" Natsu let out a bellowing pillar of flames and electricity and it engulfed Hades completely. Actually it covered Hades and the entire left side of the ship.

"Natsu!" I rushed to his side. His body had finally reached its limit and he fell to the floor. My legs allowed me to stand for a moment so I could catch his head before it came into contact with the hard wooden floor. "You did it!" I smiled through tears. I could feel my heart lighten for the first time since we started fighting on the Island. I watched Natsu's body react to impact that I managed to soften, a soft smile played on his lips as I spoke.

"You're amazing Natsu" I ran my fingers through his hair, pushing it from his face. My smile was wide and my tears were joyful.

"I-I think he's learnt his lesson" Natsu smirked with closed eyes. He grimace in pain as we both worked to raise him to his knees. I laughed lightly at his comment, but my smiled failed reached my eyes as I realised how much pain he was in. I pulled his head to my shoulder and felt him relax into my side. His body was too low on magical energy for him to refuse my support.

"Just think, when you tell Master you defeated Hades, he'll make you S-Class for sure!" I watched his face for a reaction, hoping that if he laughed that he'd at least make it back to a hospital. Gray came up beside me, watching Natsu cautiously just as I was. The Ice Make mage was holding his side, his hand was unable to cover the bruised ribs his was nursing. He managed to grimace a smile at the two of us, despite the possibility of the fight not being over outside of this large room, we took the moment we needed to accept this as a win.

"Way to go Natsu" Gray smiled as best as he could. 1

Natsu opened one eye and smirked, "We all did our part"

It always warmed my heart to see how good of friend Natsu and Gray actually were. How they were there for each other when they needed it. Especially over the last few months, with what happened before the S-class trials, with Breeze leaving and Laxus challenging the guild. Natsu and Gray have been there for each other in their own brotherly way.

I turned my head to see Wendy and Erza smiling back a little distance from the three of us, they looked just as bad as I did, but there smiles were ones of pride and relief. I opened my mouth to call out to them, to make sure they were okay. My mouth opened wide with a smile that matched theirs, but my words fell short when another voice spoke in place of mine.

"That was impressive. I'll give you that much..."

I watched Erza and Wendy's faces drop in horror, their eyes went from me, to something off into the distance. Natsu tensed at my side, pushing himself from my shoulder with a grunt.

"...but it takes a lot more than that to put me down."

My eyes snapped shut, if I don't look it's not real. It's just a bad dream.

Gray put his hand on my shoulder, I looked up to him, tears streaming down my face without permission. He didn't take his eyes of the man that should be dead. It's crude to wish someone dead, but I wish he was. Gray's grip on my shoulder loosened as his legs gave way and he fell to the floor alongside Natsu and me. He hit the ground with a groan.

"Not so talkative now are you?" Hades taunted, his voice held a smugness. The old man rolled his shoulders trying to release some of the tension Natsu's attack had caused. Hades reached for the eye patch that covered his right eye every inch his hand moved the more dread filled my body.

"H-How" Erza's voice rang through my ears but it only left her lips as a whisper behind me.

His hand reached the eye patch and he ripped it from his face. He let the black patch fall from his fingers as he opened his right eye.

I wanted to hurl. The amount of magical energy that rolled off of him as he opened his once covered eye, overwhelmed my senses to the point where I wanted to throw up. I can't say it the feeling was from fear, or if my body was rejecting the dark magic that surrounded it. I fell forwards on to my palms, the broken wood and debris splintered into my hands, but that pain was numb to me at this point.

This is it...

This is where I die.

All five of us were frozen. We all had run out of magical energy at this point and everyone who had the ability to come and save us had been defeated on the Island.

Hades started to laugh. I took in a sharp breath, the laughter said more than his words would have. It confirmed our fears. It told us that we were about to die where we sat.

Magical power started to collect in front of his palm that he now held out in front of himself. It was as if there were nothing and everything there at the same time. I could feel my joints stiffen as my muscles shook in fear. I had a fleeting thought that I may get a six-pack from all this involuntary shaking, if we made it out of this that was...

I pushed my head up to look and the pure dark magic I could feel blocking my pores. Through a blurry vision I could make out something that no human should see, and further live to tell the tale. A black hole?

I couldn't sit up, my head was spinning and so was the world in my opinion. If Natsu had told me that I was drunk and imagining this whole thing, I would have believed him. I silently wished he would turn to me and tell me that now, then maybe at least I would die without this fear crushing my heart.

Instead, Natsu's hand found mine and he squeezed it tightly, any other time that gesture would have confused me, even comforted me. But not now, he was doing this because he had silently admitted that this was the end for us. And that, more than anything, terrified me.

Hades opened his mouth to speak, before he inevitably killed us, his eyes wicked with a look that could only be seen in the eyes of a man that had truly gone insane. My head dropped back down as the muscles in my neck could support the overwhelming weight of my head any longer. I looked at the hand that covered mine, Natsu's hand was much larger than mine and almost completely engulfed the pale skin underneath his.

I had been caught in my thoughts for a moment but with a squeeze of the hand that covered mine I realised that I wasn't dead yet. Moments had passed since I looked up but I should be dead. I let a distressed frown cover my face, I wanted nothing more than for this moment to be over, I have accepted my fate yet it still threatens me with the chance of escape.

I couldn't escape.

My legs felt like slabs of rock.

I couldn't run.

Natsu's hand had tightened around mine because the magic had stopped. Suddenly the dark magic in the air didn't feel as threatening, it didn't overwhelm my body and my stomach stopped trying to reject the food that wasn't there. A simple clicking in the midst of the now one-sided battle, drew everyone's attention away from the danger and to the source of the sound.

Almost as if it was in slow motion, a beautiful figure walked past Natsu, Gray and I, her hips were swaying as the tight fur of her coat hugged her and long grey hair fell perfectly behind.

She looked like a Snow Queen.

Wendy and Erza were speaking harshly, to us or to the woman, I wasn't sure. I couldn't hear anything past, click, click, click. Their voices were muffled, but if I had the chance to glance at the two boys beside me, their faces may have given me a clue.

I was confused as to who she was, and why she was here. I almost yelled for her to get out of the way or she'll die.

But my hearing had returned as the mysterious woman spoke. "Hades, I believe your time of playing God is over."

Hades stood with a smirk, but the rest of his face tried to suppress a look of surprise. Gray's hand tightened its grip on my shoulder and Natsu let out a low growl.

My heart skipped a beat as I slowly put the pieces together. What the grey of her hair reminded me of, how familiar her voice sounded... No, it can't be.

"Hera, I see Lucifer has sent you, such a shame, it's at such a crucial time" Hera? I don't understand. I frowned and looked briefly to my side at Natsu, his face was pained. The growl he let go before didn't match the way his face sat now, his growl was angry, hurt. Now he just looked gutted.

I squeezed his hand that still resided in mine and looked back at Hades, his face had shifted smugly.

"This is the perfect time to punish you for using a god's name in such vain." Her voice was similar to how I remembered it, but it had more of a menacing undertone.

She turned her head slightly to look over her shoulder. Her eyes stopped at Natsu and I, she watched our hands for a moment and her jaw clenched. My breath hitched as she looked up and her golden eyes met mine. My brow furrowed slightly, her eyes had turned a yellow blonde just as I remember her hair being. Her features looked more mature and she seemed even gentler and shy than before, but her deep voice betrayed her. The relief of her being alive caused me to choke out a sob.

"You're scaring the Fairies" her eyes shone with a playful glint, she released me from her glare and smiled slightly, she turned her attention back over her shoulder and to the giant man.

She lifted her hand out to her side, and held it there for a moment. Then, with an elegant flick of her wrist, she sent a gust of wind that hit us with a brutal force. We tumbled until the wall of the ship caused us to jerk to a stop. I gasped as the wind was knocked out of me. I choked out a cry as my body started to settle and the pain shot through my nerves.

"L-Lucy are you okay?" Erza asked from my right, she was beside Natsu, panting from the impact, even more so since she caught Wendy with her body, yet the young girl seemed to be unconscious. I reached out and brushed some deep ocean blue hair from Wendy's face and held my fingers under her nose to check for her breath. I let out a small sigh of relief when warm air came from her.

Natsu tried to get up and run to Breeze but before his body could pull itself up, we were strapped into the wall by a thick strip of ice. The ice was a deep dark blue, if it wasn't cold I would have guessed it was something else. The ice seemed to get tighter and colder the more I squirmed. She knows Ice make magic now?

My mind was still stunned by the situation, the information before me was processing very slowly. The magical power in the room started to shift, Hades' dark energy was being overwhelmed by a similar magic. It was dark but instead of attacking my senses, my body almost welcomed it.

I looked over to Natsu as he tried all sorts of maneuvers to get out of the icy shackles. His body twisted and burnt to try and escape but the ice didn't even melt. I watched with sad eyes as he slammed his head back into the wall, frustration rolling off of him in waves.

"Ha! I'm disappointed by these so called 'Fairies' they don't live up to their reputation." Hades boasted, his loud voice bouncing off the walls and echoing in the large room.

"Now, now. You have no place to talk. Weren't you a fairy once?" The smirk on her face could be heard in her voice. "Hades is the name of the god that rules the underworld, these fairies should have been dust at your feet before I even had the chance to arrive. Yet they still try to stand" Hades became tense and enraged by that comment. Breeze stood there, amusement in her posture. Breeze or 'Hera' as Hades called her, shrugged off white furry coat she was wearing to reveal a dark grey and white gown. It had long lace sleeves that twisted down her arms ending high up her wrists, and lace collar that continued down her back, beautiful was the only word to describe it.

I heard Natsu growl from beside me, I thought at first it was because he wasn't making any progress with the ice, but then I caught his gaze. Under the detailed lace of her shoulders and back were scars unlike any I had seen before. Some of them still looked red and tender.

"What have they done to her?" I tried to lean forward but the ice pulled me back. Breeze shot her hand out to the side again and moved her wrist in a swift motion sending Hades flying into a wall. It was the same attack she had used on the five of us, but she seemed to put more force into this one. After the noise of the wooden wall being shattered by the force, settled, silence filled the room. Then a malicious laughter echoed. "Well that tickled" Hades merged from the dust and rubble with a smirk. "I hope you have more than that, Goddess of the Gods" So Hades was referring to Breeze as a Greek Goddess?

"Lucy, what happened to her?" Natsu asked me, his eyes were fixated on the girl who was standing with such confidence. "I'm sorry Natsu, but I don't know" But then it clicked, her dragon was taking over?! That must be the dragons human form? I looked at Breeze as she turned to face Hades "Of course" she smirked and suddenly the room started to fill with dark grey clouds and mist.

Breeze had hardly broken a sweat, she stood with her feet planted in the same spot as she was when the battle between her and Hades had begun. The clouds that covered the ceiling of the room let out small rumbles and cracks of lighting. The sound was oddly soothing despite the battle beneath it being anything but.

The goddess picked off a small bit of lint or a wood-chip from her dress and flicked it away. She sighed and looked up to the mangled and distressed Hades. Breeze cleared her throat "Hades, You have committed crimes against the Immortals and for that your punishment is death."

My eyes widened, She's going to kill him?!

"Breeze don't do this!" I was taken aback by the urgency in my own voice, my mouth slammed shut and I hoped that she hadn't heard me. Breeze stopped walking towards the death sentenced man and looked over her shoulder. She scanned the five Fairy Tail wizards and decided to ignore our presence. She faced Hades once more, the man's confidence risen a tad, he looked like he was creating a plan.

As Hera approached the mangled man, she spoke, "I will never understand, despite what you have put them through here today, Hades. They still believe your worthless life deserves to be spared"

"I disagree" Natsu hissed beside me and Erza let out a grunt in agreement. I wasn't sure where my words of caution came from. Just moments ago I was willing to let the horrible man die, but seeing Breeze...

"Or maybe it is my soul they wish to save" She laughed, hearing Natsu's whispers as if he were beside her instead.

Hades decided to use her talk to his advantage, and in a instant he sent a ball of dark magic towards us. Hera's hand followed it and sent a pulse of magical energy that managed to disperse it before it reached us. I let out a sigh of relief but before she could react Breeze was knocked over by a much bigger ball of dark magic.

"Breeze!" I gasped, my body lunging forward at the sight. My instinct was to rush to her.

"You should just let the fairies die, my dear" Hades cackled. As the smoke cleared Breeze was standing up sporting a rather large gash across her abdomen. "I would love too, honestly" she cursed under her breath. My mind didn't put any thought into her simple words at the time, but her sly comment would help me to believe that our Breeze wasn't truly gone.

Breeze let out a sigh "Hades, you're just making things worse for yourself" Blood was pouring from her wound but she seemed unfazed. Looking at it made my stomach flip. She lifted a bloody hand up and studied it "All though I haven't bled for a long while, it's... refreshing" she laughed. "However, I've wasted enough time here, I was given a strict time limit."

I didn't want Breeze to leave, I struggled against the ice and this time it shattered. I gasped but then clamped my hands over my mouth. The ice was sharp and cut my arms, but that was the least of my worries. She must have lost concentration, because she didn't notice my escape. Gray and Erza watched me with wide eyes, but then started struggling against the ice to try and free themselves.

"Lucy!" Natsu hissed quietly, "Get me out of here!" I looked at Natsu and wondered if I should risk getting caught, she could look over any moment and if she does god knows what could happen. "Sorry Natsu" Natsu growled low in response and it sent shivers down my spine.

Breeze had summoned some water and it was circling her body, taking all the blood off making the water turn a brownish red. "Now you can die" the water floated around her a few more times before it expanded and shot over to Hades "Water Coffin" Breeze growled, the water surrounded Hades, trapping him. His eyes widened as the air he was holding in escaped his mouth and he drowned almost instantly. Her blood must have strengthened the attack. I was shocked with how quickly she was able to take him down even though she had been fighting him for a while now.

My body moved without my permission and ran straight towards Breeze, without thinking I tackled her into a hug, I sunk to my knees and squeezed her tightly. The Dragon Slayer froze as I hugged her from behind. The embrace didn't last long, a force almost like one from an explosion sent me flying back, doing somersaults until I eventually landed on my stomach not far from Natsu, Erza, Wendy and Gray.

The woman with grey hair turned on her heel and started stalking towards me, a look of confliction on her face.

"Lucy!" Natsu yelled, Breeze looked up from me and glared at Natsu. My eyes started to tear up "I'm sorry, I-I don't know what came over me" I brought my hands up to my face, preparing myself to be assaulted.

"Damn it, Heartfilia" Breeze gasped, the harsh tone in her voice disappeared. She clutched her wound and took deep breaths, at first I thought she was mad that I injured her wound. But as she sunk to her knees and her eyes started turning grey before she closed them and passed out...

Dun Dun Duhhhhhhhh...
