"Okay so who's going tonight?"
"Not me!" Jean-Bob spat as he turned away from Puffin, "There is no such thing as a star that you can go into. Zat is impossible!"
Puffin ignored him and looked at the bright sky. "I'm telling ya' Puffin saw what he saw. And we will save Odette!"
"His majesty has a point," Speed pointed at the frog atop his shell, "No such thing as a live star."
Puffin frowned and was left standing there by himself when his friends turned around and were beginning to leave. "Wha-Where- Oh come on fellas don't lose hope. This is Odette we are talking about here!"
Speed turned his head and shook it sadly, "She's gone. She's never gonna come back." Puffin was left upset and confused.
" No! Don't lose hope! For I, Lieutenant Puffin, will go into that star and get Odette back meself! If it's the last thing I do!"
As his friends disappeared into the nearby bush, Puffin stared up at the sky and spoke softly. "Don't worry Odette. We will find ya and get you out of there."
Rothbart was in his castle and was getting dressed in his best cape for the adventure he was about to take tonight. Now, he knew where Odette was and when he had found out, he was in shock but surprised that she was still alive. The vow was supposed to kill her but it didn't because of that flying boy who had stolen her from him in the first place. However, his plan wasn't to get Odette.
His plan was to capture Peter instead.
Bridget didn't think it was his best plan but she went along with it anyway. Her master might be making a good decision here only because Odette was gone and if she wasn't a swan, she couldn't leave Neverland and since Derek was going to get married to an imposter and with that flying boy captured, he would be very thrilled either way.
As Rothbart was singing his song to himself, he had gotten himself ready and Bridget was determined to tag along but he stopped her.
"No," he stated as he pointed at her, "There's no need for you coming. This is something I must complete on my own."
Bridget gasped then huffed in disappointment but Rothbart shushed her.
"I need you to stay here and get the cage ready. By the time I get back, we are going to have company." he laughed as she began to cackle next to him. She saluted him and immediately went to complete her task while her master was left alone in his magic chamber.
He grinned evilly as he waited patiently for the sky to turn dark and to start his mission to kidnap Peter Pan.
Tink didn't how for how long this Indian dance or celebration was lasting but it seemed like forever because she was sitting atop one of the tents and was constantly watching Odette dance with Tiger Lily and a few other Indians around the campfire. She swallowed hard and had a tight knot forming in her stomach when she feared of Peter coming and finding out the truth of the swan he brought to Neverland.
Odette giggled and twirled in circles as she went from person to person and was having the time of her life. Not once did she think of Derek or her home or anybody else, she just thought of all the fun and excitement she was having.
Tink was beginning to have a small smile form on her face but it turned into complete paranoia when she saw something flying in the sky and landing in the Indian camp. She quickly hid out of sight and peeked from a corner of a tent as she couldn't help but watch what was going to happen next.
Peter looked around the camp happily as he saw everyone having a good time but his eyes darted over to a certain person wearing white and dancing with Lily. He couldn't help but curiously go over there and see who this person was. Lily noticed and immediately let go of Odette's hands, looking at the ground shamefully. When Odette saw her certain behavior change, she turned around and gasped when she came face to face with Peter.
"Who are you?" Peter asked curiously as he examined her features suspiciously.
"P-Peter!" Odette stepped back and had a hand on her chest. "W-What are you doing here?"
"Hey, how do you know my name? Wha-Wait a minute!"
The Indian tribe stopped what they were doing and grew dead silent as the red-haired boy glared at Odette angrily. "You're a grow-up!?"
Odette gasped and put her hands over her mouth, realizing that he had recognized her by her tone of voice. "Peter-I-I-I can explain!"
"No Odette," he spat as he drew back from her, avoiding her as much as possible, "You lied to me! You're a grown-up! Not a swan!"
Odette grew irritated with the tone he was giving her, "Hey! I didn't ask to be here in the first place! You brought me here and it was not my fault in anyway!"
Peter didn't say anything but growl under his breath, "You need to leave Neverland Odette. This isn't a place for you and it never will be."
Lily looked at Odette and bit her lip as the princess lowered her head and got offended with Pan's words. It wasn't her fault! After what Tink had told her, she didn't know that this place was only intended for children who wanted to continue being kids. That explains why Peter is the way he is. He doesn't want to grow up and he doesn't like grown-ups.
Peter flew away and disappeared into the night sky without saying anything to anyone. Odette frowned and ran off and headed over to the water that was down below the camp. She fell on her knees and sobbed uncontrollably as she stared at her reflection. She wanted to go home and just be with Derek. That's all she wanted. Not to be in this wretched place with kids, Indians, and pirates! This was just too much for her.
The thought of being married to Derek filled her heart warmly than it ever did before. It was everlasting love and the vow he had made for her made her love him even more. She wished that he could come and rescue her but it would be difficult to get him here.
Suddenly, a slosh was heard from the water and Odette gasped. She quickly stood on her feet and looked around cautiously. She took a step back and when her foot barely touched the water, a hand emerged out and gripped her ankle. Odette screamed and gasped when a blonde-haired girl poked her head out and gasped.
"A woman?" she said.
"Peter brought a woman here to Neverland!" The Orange-haired mermaid shrieked. "That's not possible."
"Let go of my dress!" Odette shouted as the four mermaids pulled her over to the water as they gripped her gown tighter. "You'll ruin it!"
"That's our job. Ruining things for you humans." the black-haired mermaid giggled as the other mermaids grabbed onto her. "Ready girls?"
The others nodded and began to swam as they dragged Odette away with them.
"Peter! Peter!" Odette tried to scream as her head kept emerging underwater. "Peter help me! Please!"
Tink heard Odette's cries and immediately knew that this was something associated with Hook and the pirates. Although she had never had any communication with the mermaids, she knew that they were another sort of trouble on the island. She had already seen Hook's ship in the distance, so she quietly followed them to see if she could complete an escape plan with Odette.
Peter had ignored Odette's cries for help and couldn't help but feel so stupid for helping her in the first place! He had no idea if she was a swan or human, but it seemed like the whole swan thing to him was some form of hallucination in his mind. He remembered when he had flown the Darlings to Neverland and he tried to be Mr. impressive and stood on two swans who were nearby. However, he swore that he never thought about them.
Slipping through Hangman's tree in one of the open holes, he flew in and landed inside to greet his lost boys but his expression dropped to utter shock when he saw that someone had placed a spell on them and they were now actual tiny animals. Slightly was a baby fox, Cubby was a bear cub, the twins were two little baby raccoons, Nibs was a bunny, and Toodles was a baby skunk.
"Peter!" Slightly grinned. "Thank goodness you're here!"
"Slightly!" Peter gasped as he examined him and the others, "Lost boys! What's happened to you?!"
"This mean old man zapped us into animals!" Nibs said as he began to scratch his floppy ear.
"Who are you calling...OLD." A deep-voice boomed.
Peter quickly turned around and released his dagger and glared at the man he had remembered from before. The lost boys ran on all fours and hid behind the fur bed, peeking their big eyes at Peter and Rothbart.
"You! What did you do to my lost boys!" Peter growled as he gripped his dagger tighter, ready to fight.
"Oh I just did a little spell on them the same way I had put one on Odette," Rothbart began as he chuckled to himself amusingly, "Animal spell casting was always a favorite hobby of mine."
Peter froze when the name Odette popped out of his mouth. So he was the reason why she was a swan! It wasn't a hallucination! She was cursed! Now his lost boys were too.
"The only way for your little men to be boys again is if I am defeated. So until then, they will remain that way for eternity!"
Peter gasped then charged towards him but before his dagger could touch Rothbart, he zapped him and Peter immediately flew back a couple of feet, crashing onto his large chair. The Lost Boys quickly headed to his side to see if he was alright, but Cubby noticed that Rothbart had cursed him to be an animal as well, but it was not yet identifiable of what he would turn into.
"Peter," Cubby gasped, "He cursed you!"
Peter put a hand to his head painfully and lifted his other hand to examine what was catching everyone's eyes. The orange-haired boy gasped when he saw a dark form of purple and yellow magic swirl around inside of his hand and arm. Terrified of what he was seeing, Peter jumped up and began to panic as he didn't know what was happening.
"What have you done to me!"
"Oh nothing...yet." Rothbart laughed as he forced Peter to come to him. "Now let's get going. We need to put you in chains and in a cage before you really hurt somebody." Peter squirmed as Rothbart gripped onto him tightly.
"Lost Boys! Find help!" Their leader cried as he tried to avoid Roth's painful clutches.
"We will Peter! We promise!" Cubby replied before Rothbart interrupted them.
"Now I don't mean to be rude but we should be going soon boys. Good luck finding your precious Peter Pan!" he cackled.
The Lost Boys grew angry and were about to attack him but they grew back terrified when Rothbart transformed into a nasty-looking beast and roared before bursting out of Hangman's tree with Peter. Wood collapsed and it left a giant hole where the Lost Boys watched as the giant monster was nothing but a shadow flying off in the night sky, disappearing off with Peter.
"Peter!" They all cried.
Then there was nothing but stars and a moon in the sky.
AN: I'm going to stop it right here because I have a lot more I need to write.
So Rothbart succeeded in capturing Peter, but he had cursed him to be an animal...or creature. Wonder what he is going to turn into. There is a slight hint in this chapter but you need to carefully observe and read to find out.
Next chapter we will see what goes on with Odette and see what happened to our favorite lost boy.
