SORRY SORRY SORRY! I update so slow… I'M SO SORRY! Anyway about that reference (that no one got… o, _ o) It was from a play called "Once on This Island" - it's not very famous so I didn't really expect people to get it… The reason why I put it in my story is because it's the reason why I UPDATE SO SLOWWWWWW! I'm in Once on This Island for school + my homework = NO TIME TO WRITE! WAHHHHHHHH TOT

Enjolras: Yo, Ep! Just calm down!

Me: You're… NOT ENJOLRAS! REVEAL YOURSELF IMPOSTER!

Enjolras: What are you talking about, dude?

Me: NOOOO WHO ARE YOU?!

Real Enjolras: Courf! Knock it off! Can't you see she's in an emotional and fragile state right now?!

Courfeyrac: *taking off his Enjolras mask - how he got one I have no idea* Just trying to lighten the mood Enjy. This is a very emotional chapter…

Gavroche: Hey Courf and Enjy! She won't come out! *Poking Eponine-chan with a stick because she curled into the fetal position and hid in a corner*

Me = crying

Courfeyrac: Ep! Don't cry! Come on, I'll do the disclaimer!

Me: R-really?

Courfeyrac: Yeah! Eponine does not own anything except this glorious, awesome plot!

Me: *wiping away my tears* Bwahahaha! Thank you so much for helping me out Enjy!

Real Enjolras: No problem.

Courfeyrac: Huh?!

Real Enjolras: Courf, it's Eponine-chan; you should have known she would pull something like this. She loves to trick people.

Courfeyrac: WAIT! So all those tears weren't real?!

Me: Courf, you really need to get to know me better… but you're face! That was a priceless moment

Gavroche: Eppy, can you teach me how to be a cool as you?

Me: Of course!

*Gavroche and I skip away into the distance leaving behind a dumbfounded Courfeyrac*

The First Battle

"TO THE BARRICADES!" Enjolras shouted.

The men raced for the café while the people threw down anything they could use. Chairs, tables, doors, even a coffin, rained down upon the street, nearly hitting Gavroche in the head if Eponine hadn't pushed him out of the way.

"Thanks Daniel!"

"No problem kiddo."

"Can you help me with that?" Gavroche asked, pointing to a dining room table.

"Sure."

The two began to push to the large table towards the great pile of objects that would serve as their protector.

(o, _ o)

Cossette ran through the alleyway, the fight had begun. Dressed as a young boy she slipped into the barricade and looked around for Marius. Please don't let him be dead, please! If there's a God above, he'd let me die instead…

"FIRE!"

She heard the shout. Looking around blindly, she finally spied the light brown hair of the person she loved. He was saying something about a flag? Then she watched in horror as he climbed the barricade in order to put their tattered red flag at the top; guns pointing at him from every direction.

"MARIUS, NO!"

(o, _ o)

Eponine was sitting on the ground waiting to hand Enjolras the next gun when the flag fell knocking Marius off the barricade.

"Marius! Are you alright?" Enjolras asked jumping off to see if his best friend was hurt.

"I'm fine." Marius got up and picked the flag up off the ground. "Enj, I'll put this back at the top."

He quickly scrambled up the barricade.

"But Marius! It's dangerous!" Eponine (Daniel) exclaimed.

"Don't worry about me; it's all for freedom isn't it?" He yelled back.

He was almost at the top when they heard a shout, "MARIUS, NO!"

(o, _ o)

Cossette sprinted to the barricade with agility she never knew she had. With three jumps she was at the top of the barricade with Marius. Using her body she pushed Marius off, out of the line of fire just as the first bullet was shot. Pain ripped through her body as the bullet tore through her. Then another, then three more. Shaking with pain, tears, and agony, she gripped the flag and shoved it deep at the top of the barricade, so it would never fall again. She took two more bullets until she fell to the ground, knocking her cap off her head.

"Cossette!" a voice cried

"M-Marius…?" Her vision was getting blurry.

"Cosette… why? Why did you come here and save me?"

"I… I love you…"

Marius stood, shocked.

"Marius… w-when I die-" The sentence was interrupted by a large cough of blood. "Promise me…"

"Anything! Anything Cosette!"

"Promise… me… that you'll give me on last kiss after I die… I will feel it…"

"O-of, course C-Cosette…" Marius said, tears running down his cheeks.

"And… tell Ep- Eponine, I-I'm sorry…"

"I'll do t-that."

"Thank you… Marius… I love…"

She grew limp, the brightness in her eyes slowly started to fade.

"…you…" she breathed her last and death took her.

Marius kissed her and laid her upon the ground crying. Eponine felt tears coming to her eyes, even though Cosette had been horrible, she didn't deserve to die. She even saw that Gavroche had tears running down his cheeks.

"She is the first to fall… the first of us to fall upon this barricade…" Enjolras said softly.

"Her name was Cosette… Her life was cold and dark, yet she was unafraid…" Marius choked out.

"We fight here in her name!" Eponine exclaimed.

"She will not die in vain!" Gavroche said.

"She will not be betrayed!" Everyone shouted.

Grantaire, Jehan, and Combeferre picked up Cosette and carried her body to the café.

Only then did everyone realize that the National Guard had retreated

Enjolras sighed. "Courfeyrac you take the watch, they may attack before it's light… Everybody keep the faith, for certain as our banner flies, we are not alone; the people too must rise."

Me: Next up, Dawn of Anguish! And… *lowers voice to a whisper* Gavroche's death

Gavroche: Hiya Eppy! Whatcha talking about?

Me: Oh, nothing… Hey! Why don't you show Courf your new skills?

Gavroche: Okay! Hey, Courf!

*Courf enters the room*

Gavroche *in tears*: Courffff you took the last piece of pizza! You said I could have it!

Courfeyrac: Nooooo! Gav, don't cry! How about I buy you some ice cream?

Gavroche: Pinky Promise?

Courfeyrac: Pinky Promise, no crosses count.

Gavroche: YES! I GET ICE CREAM! I GET ICE CREAM!

Courfeyrac *shocked for a second*: DAMMIT I WAS TRICKED AGAIN!

Me: Courf! No swearing in front of Gavroche!

*the two run off together*

Me: At least now I can say what I really want to say… Readers if you would like to say a few last words to Gav, please leave it in the reviews… I'll be sure he gets them… *runs away crying*
