Hi everyone! Happy belated Easter, for those of you who celebrate! I've been out of school for a couple days, due to this horrible flu that managed to infect me. This chapter is going to be a little on the soft side. But the next one will get a little heated, I promise ya! Maybe some brotherly fluff in this one though...who knows? :) Okay, read on everybody!
"No...R- Raph too?" Donnie said aloud.
His hand let go of the phone and it dropped to his side, not caring if the phone dangled from the cord.
The turtle in purple shook his head from side to side. He didn't- no. He couldn't accept the fact that his two older brothers tried to kill themselves...first Leo. Now, Raph.
Donnie thought he would never see the day. He never thought any of his brothers would hurt themselves, let alone kill.
Poor Donnie had no more strength to cry. All he could do was slump in his chair and bury his head in his hands.
He was like this for a while. His mind kept racing back and forth between his two brothers.
Why?
Why would Leo do that?
Why would Raph do that?
Why?
Donnie got up out of his seat, and exited the lab. He headed towards Mikey's room, and listened to the heart- wrenching sobs coming from inside.
Donnie thought for a moment, 'maybe this wouldn't be good for him right now.'
But he thought otherwise and gently opened the door and walked inside.
Mikey didn't even bother looking up. He knew too well who it was. Doctor Donnie trying to make him feel better.
'Oh, everything will be okay, Mikey,' the turtle in orange thought Donnie was going to say. 'It will all get better.'
No, it won't.
Mikey wasn't going to listen to anything his immediate older brother had to say. Not one thing.
"J- just leave me alone, p- please, Donnie," Mikey struggled to say. "I- I know what you're going t- to say."
"No, you don't," Donnie countered, as he sat down next to his little brother on his bed.
"Y- yes, I do," he said back.
"I was actually going to ask you if you wanted to come with me and see Raph," Donnie said, matter of factly.
"R- Raph?' Mikey aksed, his head perking up out of surprise and worry.
He was still angry at Raph for saying those terrible things about Leo back in the lair, and the story that Leo just told made his feelings for him even worse...but Mikey actually missed his older brother.
He wanted to know if he was alright...yes, he didn't like the things he said and did, but he was still his brother. Mikey couldn't bare losing another one.
"Where is he?" the youngest turtle asked, tears subsiding. "Is he alright?"
Donnie was silent for a second.
He couldn't tell his younger brother that Raph tried to kill himself too. It would be too much.
What was he thinking? Donnie mentally slapped himself in the face.
"Well?" the youngest turtle asked, snapping him back into reality. "Where is he, Donnie?"
Donnie stayed silent.
"Where. Is. He." Mikey inquired, standing up, becoming more stern, but also very worried.
With no way out of this dilemma, Donnie finally decided to tell the truth. He knew it would hurt his younger brother, but if he kept it from him now, things would get a whole lot worse later.
"Mikey," Donnie started. "You might want to sit down..." he said, as he sat the poor, fearful turtle back down.
Donnie then told Mikey as much as he had to about Raph. He didn't go into all the details about how and why, but he was pretty sure Mikey already knew, from what he heard.
When Donnie was finished, silent tears were flowing down his cheeks, but he was surprisingly calm, compared to before. Mikey was staring at the floor, taking it all in.
"So..." Mikey started. "Raph too, huh?"
"Ya," Donnie confirmed, sadly.
Mikey sat still for a moment, then stood up and announced, "I want to see him."
Donnie was completely blown over by his brother's reaction. He just learned that another one of his brothers tried to kill themselves, the one who upset him in the first place.
Over the years of their life, Donnie always seemed to notice how forgiving the youngest brother was. No matter what accident, fight, argument, or anything, big or small, Mikey always managed to forgive those who caused it. He had a kind, rare heart, one that not many people have in this world.
But never in a million years would Donnie have thought Mikey would forgive Raph for saying what he did to Leo, especially now that they know how much it caused.
"But-" Donnie started to say, but was cut off.
It was as if Mikey could read his thoughts, for he said, "I know what you're going to say...and my answer is that I do forgive him. I love all of my brothers, even Raph, no matter how pig- headed he may be at times. I want to see him. I want to make things right between him and Leo...between us all."
And with that, Mikey exited his room, leaving a shocked, but hopeful Donnie behind.
Well, I hoped you all liked it! It was a bit softer than most chapters, I know, but the next one will be better! I'll try and post soon! Please review, I love all the positive feed!
