Chapter 11-Screeching & Illusionist Fight

At the Medical Ward

The battles have not ended yet a few fighters are badly injured. The medical ward is a huge building that's not only for sick patients, but for wounded fighters. Some people who are associated with the fighters go there to check up on them.

Right now, Spyro is at Sprax's room, still recovering after the last fight. Sprax is sleeping on the bed at the time with bandages all around him.

"You put up a good fight, Sprax." Spyro said as he leaves the room to let his best friend rest. He almost lost him after the last fight with Mike. If it weren't for Cody, Sprax will be squashed. Spyro was both shaking and relieved it didn't happened. As he walk trough the halls, he saw Agent 9 and Sgt. Byrd talking with Shelia, who also slowly recovering.

"Hey guys." The trio turned their heads as the purple dragon walk in the room and also greeted him.

"Are you feeling alright Shelia?" He asked.

"Just fine as I ever be." She replied. "It's only minor burns after the last battle so I'll be up and kicking again tomorrow."

"That's good to hear." Sgt. Byrd said.

"So how's Bentley?" Spyro asked.

"He's also recovering after getting cut with that crazy piranha guy." Agent 9 answered. "His little bro is watching over him."

"Man, I never thought this fighting tournament be intense right from the start." Spyro said.

"Indeed, it seems our fellow competitors have more than we bargain for." Sgt. Byrd said.

"We better watch our step if we want to win, mate." Shelia said.

They all nodded in agreement. "Come on, if we want to avoid getting disqualified, we better head back to the sidelines." Spyro said.

"OK, good luck, guys." Shelia said as the trio leave the room and head back to the sidelines.

Back at the Dragon Coliseum

"The next fighter on the right side is a defensive fighter, give it up for Spinner the Porcupine!" The crowd cheered for the porcupine as he wave to the audience. He's a bit nervous since he knows there's a lot tough fighters here.

Boy, I wish Harry is here to see me fight... He turn his head towards his new friends from the sidelines. Sgt. Byrd and Agent 9 cheers the loudest for him.

"Thanks, guys." Spinner said as he walks to the center of the arena.

"The fighter on the left side is the Pterodactyl from Dinosaur Island, Screechy the Pterodactyl!" The crowd cheered for him and he waves to the audience and to his friends from the sidelines. They cheered the loudest.

"Hm. Good friends I have." He said.

The cheers died down and the two fighters meet and shake hands.

"Good luck." Spinner said.

"You too." Screechy said.

The two fighters toke their battle positions and ran towards to each other. Screechy is the first to strike as he threw a punch at the porcupine. Spinner, while startled, dodged the punch barely and try to counterattack by pulling two of his spine from his back and attempt to slice his opponent, however, the pterodactyl spread his wings and fly away from Spinner to avoid the attack.

"What is that flying Dino up to?" Agent 9 asked.

"Beetsoom, his methods of counterattacking is beyond me, private." Sgt. Byrd replied.

A/N: Beetsoom is military slang for "I don't know".

Private? The monkey thought.

"Air Dive!" Screechy yelled. He flies towards Spinner with excellent speed almost as fast as a speeding bullet.

Realizing Screechy was about to tackle him, Spinner nervously shoots out his spines towards Screechy. "1,000 Needles!" he said, shooting a lot of spines out of his body. Screechy tried to move out of the way as the spines is coming towards him again, only he failed in time and yelled in pain as some hit his body and on his right wing. He crash landed and slowly gets up and remove the spines out of his body.

"Nice hit, but not enough!" Screechy said. "Huh?" He got bug-eyed as he sees Spinner grow some spines on his back slowly. Most of the crowd is shocked as well.

"That's weird. I never know that kid can do that." Hunter said.

"Nor do I, that's kinda impressive." Bianca said.

"I always rely on my spines so I have an ability to grow some new ones. Of course, it take some time for it to grow some more." Spinner said.

"I see." Screechy said. "Now's it's my turn!" He flies towards Spinner to deliver another punch, Spinner was trying to run away from to keep his distance from his opponent. He then turns around to attack with his spines more.

"1,000 Needles!" Spinner said. More spines are fired from his back and aim at Screechy. That didn't work since Screechy let out a horrifying roar to scatter all the spines away, hitting the walls, the crowd and Spinner covers their ears and shut their ears to avoid going deaf.

"Ooooooowwwww! My ears!" Spinner whined. While the porcupine tries to regain his hearing, the Pterodactyl suddenly rise his right arm and create a light blue energy as the air swirls around it while flying.

"Tornado Punch!" He flies towards Spinner as he tries to get away but to no avail as Screechy is too fast and he punch him dead in the gut. It then blows the porcupine away to the wall in a giant air blast. That move created a crater and almost broke the wall, but Spinner still got off of it with some injuries. He breathes a little heavy and the loud ringing in his ears is almost gone, but he hold his belly to relieve the pain as it was bruised.

This is not going well for me. If I try another 1,000 Needles attack, he'll let out his eye-piecing scream on me again. I have to try another method. Spinner thought.

Now the tables are turned, just one more Tornado Punch and he's history. Screechy thought.

Spinner runs toward Screechy while the latter just flies away to avoid another attack from his spines. Predictable. Screechy thought.

"Spike Ball!" Spinner curl himself into a ball and starts rolling like a giant bowling ball with his spines sticking out and heads towards the wall.

"What is that kid up to?!" Screechy said surprised.

Everyone from the sidelines are shocked of what Spinner was doing, as if he was trying to hurt himself.

"What is he doing?!" Spyro said in shocked.

"This is bad! I can't look!" Agent 9 said as he covers his face with his hands.

"What in the Air Force is this?!" Sgt. Byrd said in shocked.

"Is he trying to lose on purpose?!" Hunter asked in shocked.

"No... something else is about to happened." Bianca said.

Before anyone knew it, Spinner jumps towards the wall and bounce back towards Screechy, who is too shocked to see such stunt.

"Holy Cow!" He said in shocked. He attempts to make another Sonic Scream, but now Spinner, in his ball form, is too fast for him and struck him hard,. Screechy yelled in pain as more spines also struck him around his body again and crash landed hard, Spinner, while mid-air, final his attack by diving down towards an helpless pterodactyl.

BOOM! Many dust flies around the coliseum, shielding the spectators and fighters from seeing who's victorious. The dust slowly clear away and it shows an badly damaged but still standing Spinner and in front of him was Screechy on his back, barely consciences as the last blow and the spines are too painful for him.

"Screechy is unable to battle, making Spinner the Winner!" The crowd cheers for the porcupine as he waves to the audience, he also rush to Screechy who's in pain for the spines is around his body, the paramedics was about to cover him in the gurney but didn't move as they were about to say something.

Spinner rubbed his head in nervousness, "Uh, sorry for overdoing the fight."

"No need, you fought the good fight, that's all I need." The two fighters fist bumped and head to the medical ward while the crowd cheered.

"Now that's a battle! Full of twists and surprises! The next fighter is the beautiful demon from Quiet Town, Shirra the Demon!" The crowd cheers for the demon girl and she waves to them, with a happy look on her face.

The living skeleton look at her from the sidelines and wonders if she look like someone he knows.

It's weird, that lady looks like someone I know. He thought.

"And the next fighter is the laid-back alligator with cloud envy from Hidden Swamp, Kile the Alligator!" The crowd cheer for him as he wave to everyone and didn't see his friends.

I know you're checking up on Mike, but I know you believe in me as well. Thank you. He thought.

Both fighters shook their hands.

"Best of luck, ma'am." Kile said.

"Same to you." Shirra said.

Both fighters got to their fighting poses and charge at each other. Kile is first to strike as he swing a punch at Shirra, as soon it's close to the demon, she suddenly vanishes.

"Huh?! Whoooa!" Kile said as he regain his balance after punching the air hard.

"That's new" Ember said.

"Yeah, unless it's all tricks and mirrors, I didn't see that coming either." Bandit said.

Kile looks at all directions to see where the demon about to strike. "Where are you? Stop hiding and fight!"

"Who said I was hiding?" Shirra asked. Kile's eyes are wide open when Shirra is right in front of him all of the sudden.

"Doom Ray!" Shirra blasts Kile with a small yet forceful dark energy ray and send him flying. The alligator stumbles on the ground and flipped right back up on his feet.

"How you do that? You disappear as soon I almost punch ya!" Kile asked.

"Figure out for yourself, silly." Sierra giggled.

This angered Kile and he tries to bite her with his powerful jaws, but one after another, Shirra swiftly dodged his attack using her illusions as they disappeared. Kile then try to use his tail to knock her off balance, but she jumped out of the way.

Shirra charges up her next attack, this time in little light ball of energy. "Light Spears!" All the charged up Light Spears hits the ground, sending dust falling like you're running from a mine field. Kile swiftly dodged each one, but then on Light Spear exploded in front of him, sending him flying again, this time crash landed. He slowly gets up and he got bug-eyed again, as he sees not one, not two, but 30 Shirras around around.

"Uh oh. I'm in trouble." Kile said as he sweatdropped.

"YES YOU ARE, KILE. YOU SEE, NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, I CREATE ILLUSIONS OF MYSELF TO NOT ONLY MADE YOU MISS, BUT TO FINISH THIS EARLY. THERE'S NO ESCAPE!" All the Shirras said simultaneously.

Kile tries to attack but all the Shirras create charged up green energy of Earth.

"EARTH BOMBS!" They all said. All the Earth Bombs are aim at Kile, who use his tail to smack most of them away. Unfortunately, the rest of them exploded in front of Kile, sending him flying away, and crash hard on the land.

"Kile can't fight any more so the victory goes to Shirra!" The crowd cheers for the tricky Demon as she waves to everyone and the paramedics covers Kile on the stretcher and carry him to the medical ward.

"That was a quick fight." Hunter blinked.

"Yeah, the Demon who can make illusions of herself is really quick. Even I can't cast magic that fast." Bianca said.

"The next fighter is..."
