Chapter 11: hangover and hang on
Sakura walked down the hall with heavy steps, she felt at the same time numb and dumb; she was wearing shades and it wasn't even sunny, she had to, her eyes couldn't tolerate the glimpse of light. At least she wasn't the only one, she saw kiba and shino sitting in a corner half asleep, suffering from a terrible head ache, Ino with expensive sunglasses with her friend Karin harassing her probably about what happened at Naruto's party, the red headed girl wasn't invited since she didn't knew the Uzumaki .
Sakura looked in front of her-if that's even possible in her state-and saw Hinata holding her locker door and looking blankly at it , she realized she wasn't wearing sunglasses like the others but she still had panda eyes and she looked like she have been hit by a bus, she walked toward her ,it took Hinata several minutes before realizing her friend was standing next to her
"I need to close my locker and it's going to sound like a gunshot" said Hinata in a low voice
"I know, my mom was so frustrated after I threw the alarm clock from the window this morning" said Sakura taking Hinata's hand away and closing the locker slowly
"I am never drinking again" said Hinata as they start walking
"and the worst part I don't remember how I got home" said Sakura
"Itachi and his friends brought us all home" answered Hinata trying her best to keep her eyes open
"I wonder how my parents reacted. How did your dad react?"asked Sakura
"he didn't, I woke up in Itachi's room" said Hinata, causing Sakura to stop
"what?"said Hinata turning around
"did you just say you woke up in Itachi's bed…. did you guys?" asked Sakura
"god, no! of course not , he's just too smart to hand me to my father in that state"said Hinata she would have blushed but her body couldn't produce any sort of heat
"you're too trusting Hinata! What if.."said Sakura
"I'll trust him with my life, it's Itachi we are talking about not Sasuke" said Hinata
"I really don't get your weird relationship with the older Uchiha" said Sakura with a sigh
"It's not that complicated he's like my gay bff but straight, gosh I can't believe I said that"said Hinata covering her mouth
"what?"said Sakura raising an eyebrow
"nevermind"said Hinata walking in the classroom
She walked to the seat next to the window, she would have avoided it but all other seats were full, the math teacher didn't arrive yet, as if the headache from the hang over wasn't enough, her first period had to be math! Hinata rested her back on her seat, throwing her head back, closing her eyes from the disturbing faint light coming from the window.
When she suddenly felt something put on her eyes , she got back to her usual sitting position, reaching to her face she felt the shades with her hands, opening her eyes she came face to face with a smirking Uchiha
"waw! good morning sunshine"said Sasuke with a sarcastic tone
"no, don't say. You look worst than me"said Hinata resting her chin on her hand
"no I don't, you're always such a hot mess Hyuga" said Sasuke smirking
"I am…thanks for the glasses" answered Hinata
"I didn't want you to torture yourself , you got me for that"said Sasuke
'Unbelievable!' thought Hinata rolling her eyes mentally
"not today Sasuke , I have a terrible headache"said Hinata burring her head between her hands
"it's normal after all that alcohol you drank , next time try not to collapse in my lap, I had to explain myself to my brother why you were sleeping on me" said Sasuke walking away, leaving her in a shocked state
"S-sasuke!"called Hinata
"hn"
"emm… what did I do before fainting? I have a faint memory of a k….nevermind" asked Hinata before biting the inside of her cheek
"nothing much"answered Sasuke still turning his back to her, he touched his lips in a smirk as he remembered the taste of her lips.
lips like liquorices, tongue like candy.
It was intoxicating, like his brain went off for several minutes and instincts took the control over his body, asking for more, needing for more, craving for more! It was addicting, the feeling was addicting, she was addicting. He hated it, being under her influence. But in times like yesterday the proud Uchiha would become slave to his own desires 'how pathetic!' it scared the hell out of him to know a girl had such effect on him
'you know what's more pathetic ; the fact that you stopped because you realized she wasn't aware of what she was doing , it shows how much you care' whispered the annoying voice of his subconscious
Shaking his head of these thoughts, Sasuke sat on his usual place , he focused his gaze on his book as he heard the voice of their teacher Asuma announcing the begin of the lesson.

Hinata looked at her reflection on the mirror of the girl's bathroom, her hair was messed up , her shirt was inside out , and her uniform's tie wasn't in place , as for her eyes they were more terrifying than usual
'you're always such a hot mess' his voice ringing in her head
"I am not" whispered the girl braiding her hair, what if Naruto saw her on that state? She didn't want to look helpless in front of him. She washed her face with the cold water.
'come on wake up' thought Hinata, physically she was awake but her mind wasn't fully awake , she had those flashes about the party , she remember playing that drinking truth and dare game and of to the seventh question everything went befog , she does remember she kissed someone , maybe they made her do it in a dare or maybe she did it on her own
"eghh, this is so frustrating! Why did I forgot?" said Hinata before walking out of the bathroom , she came face to face with a redheaded girl
"hey Hinata, nice glasses"said Karin
"thanks"muttered the blunette before walking away quickly
"why would you complement her?"asked Ino arriving next to her friend
"I thought you said we had to be nice until we found a vulnerable spot"said Karin
"Karin that was before , but she would be of no help now, it's worthless" answered Ino annoyed
"are you sure?"asked Karin
"yes besides I had my eyes on her last night , why do you think I went to that stupid party and I can tell you she and Sasuke hardly communicated , he actually despise her" said Ino playing with her ponytail
"then why does she have his sunglasses?" said Karin
"his?"
"yes and I don't like it, it's fishy"said Karin crossing her arms over her chest
Hinata was walking to her next class-which she had no idea where it was- her eyes almost shut, she failed to notice the tall figure she was about to bump in
"gomen" said Hinata
"Hinata I was actually looking for you" said Naruto with the best grin he had he was still suffering his own hangover
"you were?"asked Hinata
"yes I wanted to thank you for the cake and all the food you prepared for my birthday party , it was nice to eat something homemade even though we didn't eat much, just drunk" Said Naruto
"no problem" said Hinata smiling
"talking about drinking, I'm sure you must have a terrible headache , so I was….wondering …would you like to…grab a coffee with me, it will ease the hangover" said Naruto scratching the back of his head
"a c-coffee?" stuttered Hinata
"yes, it will be fun to hung out after school, you could…maybe bring your friend…Sakura.. and I'll bring someone….like on a date" said Naruto blushing slightly
'A DATE' Hinata's mind screamed
"a…ah…y-es…i-it will b-be f-fun" responded Hinata her face finally displaying it natural blushing color
"cool, I'll see you after school then" said Naruto giving her a pat on the shoulder before living
'oh boy! I think he just asked me out' thought Hinata staring at Naruto's back who disappeared in the crowd

"well dope I never thought you'll be mature enough to go out somewhere else than your usual ramen shop" Said Sasuke opening the door of the coffee shop
"hey! Ichiraku's is the best ramen shop! In fact it's the best shop ever" Said Naruto pointing his finger at Sasuke like he just committed a crime
"so mature" said Sasuke with a sarcastic tone
They walked in and set on a table, as soon as they set a waitress came quickly beating her fake lashes at Sasuke asking what would be their order. Girls like her are the main reason Sasuke hates going out in public places full of people, he hates going out , public places and people.
'I hate fangirls' thought Sasuke rolling his eyes
"four coffees please" said Naruto with his signature grin
"four?why? "asked Sasuke rasing an eyebrow
"because I may have lied to you about a tiny detail" answered Naruto
(meanwhile)
"why did I came here" Said Sakura with a sigh
"because you know I'll never have the courage to go in there by myself , and besides Naruto-kun said I should bring a friend because he'll bring someone too" said Hinata looking at the message she got from Naruto to check if it's the right address
"yeah right, I hope it's not that lee rock , he's so obsessed with me" said Sakura, shivering at the memory when he had declared his 'youthful love' to her in the gym in front of everyone
"like you don't obsesses over Sasuke Uchiha" said Hinata giggling
"yes but when I do it's cute and lovely but when he does it it's creepy and weird" said Sakura opening the door
they both got in and saw Naruto waving to them , he was sitting in front of another guy that they both recognize by his hair
"OMG, he brought Sasuke!" squealed the excited pink haired girl
"I can't believe it" said Hinata almost face palming herself , she really was one unlucky hot messed girl
" Sasuke's fun club members are going to be so jealous" Said Sakura trying to gain her composure back, as they both walked towards them
"you have to be kidding me" Said Sasuke upon seeing the two females in front of him
"hey Hinata, Sakura-chan" Said Naruto with an excited face, gesturing for them to sit down, Sakura pushed away Naruto and set next to Sasuke , while Hinata set across him next to Naruto
"so Sakura-chan , how is practice for the cheerleaders going, I've heard you joined them" said Naruto grinning at the pink haired girl who couldn't take her eyes off Sasuke
"it's good I'll be in the team in no time, we'll cheer for your martial arts team if Sasuke-kun would join the competition this year" Said Sakura admiring the stoic Uchiha
"I'm not" answered Sasuke with his cold voice
"oh" said Sakura disappointed
"I'll be competing ,Sakura-chan would you cheer for me?" said Naruto smiling widely
" it's not necessary , you'll lose anyway" answered Sakura
"I think they have chances to win" said Hinata poking her fingers together, it was a bad habit she had when she was little and she was able to get rid of it , but not when it comes to the Uzumaki
"thank you Hinata, you're good at cheering me up, maybe you should join the cheerleaders too" said Naruto still keeping his grin
"m-me,no, it's not my thing" said Hinata blushing, a blush that Sasuke didn't fail to notice , it was different from the scarlet ones she would display when he's toying with her, this one was more pleasant to see but it was pleasant in all the wrong ways, he was supposed to create this kind of blush
'what the hell am I thinking' thought Sasuke
A few moments later the waitress arrived with the coffee , as she placed it she gave Sasuke a paper with her number on it and walked away winking at him
"dude how do you do that?" said Naruto jaw dropping
"Sasuke-kun doesn't need to do anything to get the females attention" said Sakura
"ask Hyuga she said it was in my….what was it again?…genes" said Sasuke smirking, his smirk widened when he saw the red face Hinata was making as she remembered the moment he barged in the kitchen when she was putting all her effort in hating him
"really? Hinata I never thought you were the fangirl type" said Naruto
"W-Wha, No" answered Hinata
"oh don't be shy princess" said Sasuke before taking a sip of his hot coffee
"Princess?!" Said Sakura and Naruto in union , but Sasuke ignored it and Hinata couldn't answer it so she just decided to change the subject
"So Naruto-kun when is your competition? " asked Hinata
"it will be soon I want to see you in the audience" said Naruto grinning
"I'll be there" said Hinata blushing
"I'll save a seat for you too Sakura-chan" finished Naruto with a slight blush
"hn" responded Sakura "so Sasuke-kun is it true the school is throwing self defense classes for all students?" finished Sakura sweetly
"yes, principle Tsunade is worried about what's happening lately , pupils being attacked and bitten up and that girl named Tayuya that disappeared , it only increased the parents worry" Said Naruto
"yes I've heard about her, I didn't really know her well , but I've heard she left school but never came home, maybe she run away" Said Sakura
"I don't think that she run away" said Hinata clenching her first, a gesture that didn't escape Sasuke's sharp eyes
"you're tense" said Sasuke eyeing her
"what do you mean?" asked Sakura
"I…was the last person that saw her" said Hinata gulping "I was on my way to a book store , that night I needed a book, and I saw her in a dark alley she was holding a folder , she was shaking and sobbing , she looked terrified , when I asked her if she was ok she shouted at me and told me to go away, the next day she went missing" finished Hinata starring at her reflection in the mug full of coffee , maybe if she insisted to know what was happening to her, she would have prevent it whatever had happened to her
"did you report it to the police?" asked Naruto
"yes" answered Hinata
"wow, and I was worried about my grades" said Sakura gulping
"So… talking about grades, I here want to thank Miss Hyuga Hinata for helping me out with my studies, thanks to you I may be able to succeed with high grades this year" said Naruto smilling
"my pleasure" said Hinata smiling
After a nice talk, well in which mostly Naruto and Sakura talked , while Sasuke was annoyed and Hinata kept quiet , it was time to go back home , Naruto insisted in taking Sakura home while she insisted that Sasuke should do It , but the Uzumaki was able to convince her since she was on his way home while Sasuke and Hinata lived in the other direction.
Sasuke walked in front of Hinata in silence as she followed him quietly too, he then he decided to speak
"you weren't acting like usual today" said Sasuke
"what?" said Hinata
"you weren't messed up, you're quiet" finished Sasuke
"thanks?" said Hinata more like a question
"what is it Hyuga? What is going on in your pretty little head?" said Sasuke turning his head around to read her facial expression, she looked in deep thoughts and from the frown that was forming he guessed they weren't happy thoughts
"breathe" commended Sasuke, she did as he said as she realized she has almost forgotten how to breathe
"Hyuga relax, you're fine" said Sasuke stopping as he realized the girl wasn't looking well
"No, I'm not! I'm terrified! I can't walk around at night by myself, I feel like every shadow is a threat , I'm so afraid since what happened to Tayuya , the police said not say anything but I can't" said Hinata gasping for air
"Hey, breathe!"said Sasuke holding her from her shoulders like he wanted to pull her back to reality
"I found a paper on it was written 'I'm coming to get you bitch' and on ….the wall was writing 'help' with Tayuya's lipstick…something happened to that girl " said Hinata freaking out
"it's ok, you're safe now" said Sasuke
"I don't feel safe" said Hinata inhaling deeply
"those policemen are idiots, they can't ask you not to talk about it, those kind of secrets can destroy you from the inside" said Sasuke gritting his teeth
"I'm constantly afraid! I have been drowning myself with work and focusing on myself, but when you guys talked about it today it reminded me that we were living in a fake safety " said Hinata
"first breath Hinata, tomorrow you are going to unroll in those self defense lessons , it will help you feel safe I promise" said Sasuke lowering his arms to hold her hands
"why are you being so nice to me?" asked Hinata lowering her gaze
"let's get you home safe" said Sasuke pullng her with him
