Well I can honestly say I did not expect you guys to care about my new chapter, but you did. Thank you to all of you for staying with me and I have no choice but to reward you with the best I can do. I love all of you and from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I own nothing.
Chapter 11
The streets of Jump City were sparse because of the accident involving Beast Boy. The mayor declared an immediate state of emergency and ordered everyone to stay in their home until further notice. The city was starting to resemble a ghost town, which was just how Speedy and Aqua lad liked how to travel. Speedy moved through the streets with serious ease, switching his approach up between running and propelling himself through the use of his bow. Aqua lad was gliding through the streets on a man hole cover which had about three feet of water underneath it. Side by side they moved through the city until they saw the stoic T shaped tower in foreground. Speedy and Aqua lad made eye contact as they reached the shore line. Aqua lad gave a quick nod and with that Speedy launched an arrow straight into the ground. A small burst of flames jumped him through the air as Aqua lad ditched the manhole cover and dove underneath the surface of the water.
Speedy ascended into the air and hit a triple flip to maintain his height enough for Aqua lad to catch him. On his way up he noticed that the lights were out in the tower and he thought in strange being that they were a few short hours away form night patrol. On his way down Aqua lad arose from the air with two water based flat transport surfaces. One immediately for him as he caught himself and the other for Speedy. Speedy landed smack dab in the center of the surface and stood up next to his team member.
"Why are the lights out?" He screamed over the wind to his comrade.
"No clue but we need to be ready for anything." Aqua lad snapped bad with a determined tone.
"Heard on you" Aqualad raised his hands up to elevate the two heroes jumped off of the platforms to perform in sync front flips and land on the island. They both darted for the front door of the tower making up as much time as they could.
"NO CYBORG DO SOMETHING YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING" tears rolling down Raven's face as reality began to set in that her love, her boyfriend had left this earth. She screamed in a manner she never knew possible. "PLEAS GAR WAKE UP PLEASE DON'T LEAVE" Raven was slamming her fists down on Beast Boys lifeless chest. His body began to lose the trademark green pigment and slowly dissipate to a dark white tone. His lips had lost color and his froze staring at the ceiling.
"Raven stop it!" Starfire screamed. Her and Bumblebee screamed as they tried to restrain her. But it was to no avail as she scratched and crawled desperately to try to crawl on her expired boyfriends body. She finally was able to break free from their grasps and then screamed out in tear filled monologue.
"GAR I CAN BRING YOU BACK PLEASE DON'T GO I LOVE YOU I'M SORRY PLEASE DON'T GO" She took a step back as everyone in the room watched in a stunned emotional state.
"Azareath metrione Zintos" A black beam struck Beast boy in the chest but to no response. Raven attempted this again, no response. Again, nothing. Just as she was trying a fourth time Aqualad and Speedy entered the room and saw what was going on.
"Oh fuck" Speedy spit out as he slammed on the breaks.
"Neptune no" Aqua lad clambered. Just as Raven tried to wind up another spell her mouth was covered by Cyborg's hands and she was spun around to see Cyborgs tear covered face.
"Rae I-" He couldn't get the words out as Raven fell into crying she let out a huge wail causing all the glass to explode in the room. Starfire joined the circle as they collapsed on to the floor, slowly everyone joined them on the floor by their fallen friend's hospital bed. Robin and Speedy did not as Speedy moved to the back towards the door to hold his emotions in check he observed Robin approach Beast Boys body on the opposite side of his mourning friends. He placed his hand on his bloody forearm and put his head down, fighting back tears he made a fist with his opposite hands and attempted to storm out of the room. Speedy stopped him and locked eyes with his friend.
"Dick, please" Robin gritted his teeth and fought back tears.
"This was no accident" When those words left he lost it he looked down at the spilled blood on his gloves and watched the tears hit them. Just then he was released by Speedy and stormed out of the room.
A few days later the titans were given police escort in a hearse through main street of the city. Beast Boys body was to be laid to rest in a public ceremony at sea on the Titan's island. Batman arranged for it and took care of the body after the initial call of death. It was determined that his death was from blunt force trauma and a loss of blood due to a lung puncture. This service was going to be open casket when they arrived on the island and it would be the first time that the titans saw the body since that day. Raven and Cyborg were tasked by Robin to give speeches because of their relationship. They sat next to each other in the limo, Raven stared out the window at the crowds of people that lined the street in support of the fallen hero. Signs of love, people crying, people holding picture of him. Raven stared at them blankly as the car seemed to not be moving at all. She was devastated, she hadn't slept or ate in the three days past. She was destroyed, her mirrors are shattered, her skin was drained of color but most importantly her heart broken and her love dead. She can't get the image of him being struck by that truck out of her head. She froze and she could have helped him had she stayed in control of her emotions. It was as if her world kept destroying itself over and over again. The pain was becoming unbearable. She wanted to end it all.
Aqua lad scooted towards her in the car.
"Raven I know you haven't been okay the past couple of days and I don't think any of us have, I want you to know you're not alone and I'm no stranger to losing loved ones. If you ever need anything at any time please don't hesitate." Raven continued to stare out the window but Cyborg tapped Aqua lad on the arm in recognition. Cyborg leaned back and looked at the ceiling of the car and closed his eyes. He could fell BumbleBee resting her head on his shoulders. It was still so surreal to him a few days ago they were all joking around having fun together now he had to give a speech at his friends, his best friends, funeral. "I can't do this" he said under his breath. Starfire, sitting a row behind him, leaned forward.
"My friend yes you can and you will Beast boy may be gone physical but he will always be with us mentally and in feeling, it is his love that we should be basking in right now not his demise. Cyborg, Raven I speak for all of us grieving in this car when I saw we love you, we all love all of you and we are here forever." Cyborg turned back and placed a hand on Star fire's and nodded to Robin who had his face completely stone, free of emotion looking to be tortured by his thoughts.
The limo reached the home of the titans and the fire truck carrying Beast Boys casket. Four guards jumped off of the truck and placed him on a grand stand facing the water. A large crowd of people holding candles awaited as one microphone was set up at the front of the tower surrounded by the media. The titans all gathered around the microphone as Cyborg stepped up. A large cheer was let out as chants of "Cyborg!" and "We Love Beastboy" rang through. This continued for a few minutes until finally Cyborg began to speak in a tearful tone.
"I wanna thank all of you for coming, um as you can tell we are all emotionally destroyed. I can't find words to tell you all about my feelings for my friend. He was so much more to me than that, he was a brother someone who always protected me as well as all of you." A brief applause broke out. Cyborg continued "Whether it was training, chilling or working Beast Boy had an impact on my life that I wish I could explain, he was funny, annoying, a bad ass, a leader. I can't say it enough, when I first became Cyborg he told me to embrace what had happened to me and show the world who I really am. He impacted my life more than you can ever imagine. He loved all of us as friends, teammates, lovers and people. I wish I could bring him back because… becas-" Cyborg began to crack and let the emotion of the moment take over his voice. "Because I love you man and I miss you and I don't know what I'm going to do without you. BB save me a seat on the other side man I love you buddy." Cyborg burst into emotion as the crowd erupted with a tearful joy in support of the hero. BumbleBee came and got her boyfriend and helped him back as he had broken down into a tear covered mess. He and Raven shared a look as she slowly approached the podium.
The crowd exploded for her as she searched for the words. She opened her mouth but nothing came out. She felt tears rolling down her face and she couldn't find words. The crowd continued to roar for her and cheer her name. Raven finally mustered enough courage just to push the words "I Love you Beastboy" before she collapsed to the ground. The crowd gasped as Starfire helped the hysterical Raven to her feet. She couldn't say anything else, she had died inside and was doing nothing more but just existing at this point. Her life as she knew it was over.
Bagpipes began to play as Robin, Cyborg, Speedy, Mas y Menos and Aqualad pushed Beastboys casket into the water. All the candle of the crowd lit up the island as fireworks went off to celebrate the life of the fallen hero. They stayed out there for hours celebrating the life of Beast Boy but Raven teleported to her room and laid on her bed. She laid next to the impression of Beast Boy's frame that had been there from his last day on earth. She did nothing but weep.
In a dark cave, miss Martian faced a dark podium. "I've done my part Beast Boy is out of the picture may we proceed?" Two dark figured revealed themselves it was monsieur mallah and Brain. Brain spoke to miss Martian.
"Yes my Martian pet, we may proceed, we shall avenge my brother's death. Now with the assignation of Beast Boy complete the plan shall proceed as intended." Miss Martian turned and exited the room with a tear rolling down her face.
