His Possession

- Chapter 11 -

God can give us all,

but He can take it all.

It's He's choice and no one else's.

We are all under Him.

Sasuke had not returned from talking with his God. Sakura was still sitting in the lounge with a bowl of fruits and berries in front of her. She aimlessly snacked on them and didn't even much give a thought to what she was doing. To be honest, the berries she ate were the best thing she had ever tasted. Few servants came by a while ago to suggest that they would serve some dinner, but Sakura declined.

She wasn't feeling like eating much so they brought her the tray filled with things she has never even seen or heard of in her entire life. Tsunade, however, had left a while ago saying that she had another matter to attend to, thus leaving Sakura alone with her own thoughts. Occasionally she could hear the cling and clang of people moving things around somewhere in the palace, but she didn't bother dwell on it.

Unfortunately sitting with the Goddess, Sakura had adore most of her life, didn't give much more information to her. She wished she had gotten more out of the woman than just her asking questions about her. All Sakura wanted to know was that why was she in the human world in the first place if she was a goddess and this was her home. What could have made this kind of thing happen to her? She would literally beg on her knees to get the knowledge she so desired.

But nothing was coming out of that woman's mouth. She was like a rock. Evading her questions seemed so easy and not troublesome at all. The only thing she got out of her was that everything will be revealed when the time is right and she should not fret on it.

Roaming around the huge halls and getting lost wasn't something that interested her at all, so she remained in the lounge and watched the scenery getting darker and darker. A girl with bluish tint in her hair came around the room lighting a dozen of candles. She bowed as she entered and also when she left. It was honestly bothersome. She didn't feel like a goddess like Tsunade and Sasuke had tried to insist. All the curtsies given to her made her feel bothered.

Even though, she never became a nun, she was so used to being respectful towards others. She always lowered her head when meeting with any of the nuns and it was something she was so used to doing. They of course curtsied back but it's a whole another thing when you're not supposed to do it back.

In her mind, she was still that normal girl with a weird hair in the convent.

A loud bang coming from the staircase made her flinch and raise up to see what was going on. None of the servants had made any noise that loud so she quickly circled her way to the staircase. There just under the steps was a man laying face first on the ground and a flower pot broken next to him with the dirt covering all of him. At that moment as he groaned in obvious pain the servants came rushing in with Ichoyo in lead.

All of them looked horrified and quickly rushed to his aid. As Sakura was about to help as well the quick look from Ichoyo told her to stay put. Wringing her fingers, she watched as the four of them helped the man to stand up and brush dirt off of him.

"My Lord, are you okay?" Ichoyo inquired and brushed some of the dirt from his bright blond hair.

My Lord? Sakura thought to herself. Was he a god, too? But who was he and why in the world was he in her palace. Can these people really just invade her apparent home without even an invitation? Was she even supposed to feel mad at him like she was? She honestly was feeling like slamming him to the back of his head like the idiot he was, but where were these thoughts coming from?

She never was a violent person so where in the world did this sudden urge to scold this man came from?

"Eh, I'm okay!" He exclaimed with a warm and raspy voice. "Just came in too fast."

Finally he turned around and Sakura was met with a bright smile and huge arms that suddenly wrapped around her tiny figure.

"Sakura-chan! I'm so glad you're back!" He squeezed her even tighter and for a moment she felt like her whole body would crack from the sheer power of the hug. Luckily he soon let her go and she bend over to catch her breath.

Then he slapped her back more gently as if realizing that he was too rough with her.

"Oh! Sorry!" The man laughed and scratched his head.

Then the annoyance came back and Sakura glared at the man, "Who even are you? Crashing in like that!" She raised her voice and from the corner of her eye she could see the servants straighten their posture before bowing and leaving. They were left alone just like that and Sakura felt her palm tingle. How tempting it would be to slap him and get some sense into this guy.

But she didn't even wait for his replay and instead she turned around to stomp back in to the lounge. The fruits and berries were where she had left them and she instantly dived for the bowl. Tasting the sweet nectar in them was amazing and she could literally feel the annoyance melt away. If she had know something would taste as good as these then she wouldn't have waited so long to eat them.

Most of the time she's been a bit skeptical with some of the fruits and berries in Earth since they're quite sour sometimes, but these are heaven. Munching on them made her just so happy.

With a grin the man took a seat next to her and grabbed a few berries, "I completely forgot you don't remember me either." He said and threw one into his mouth. Looking at her he smiled, "My name's Naruto Uzumaki! I'm the god of Spirit, Summer, Joy, Happiness! Whatever you want to call it! But you can just call me Naruto."

Well she has heard of him alright but his face doesn't ring any bells.

"I would introduce myself back, but it seems that you already know me."

"I do! We're best friends!" He leaned back against the couch, "You always yell at me for doing stupid things and then slap my head. I think I've gotten a little dumber even, since you left. There hasn't been anyone to scold me like you do!"

Even more tempted to slap him across his head, Sakura looked into the bright blue eyes of this god, "So you've known me long, too?"

"Of course!" The way his whole demeanor seemed to brighten at her question, she felt somehow relieved. "Unfortunately, I haven't known you as long as Sasuke, but still for a long time. But that's only because you were created with Sasuke before I was even a thought in God's mind."

"I was created at the same time with Sasuke?"

"Yes! Teme-"

Raising her hand to quiet Naruto, "But I thought all gods were created at the same time?"

"No. There's actually a hierarchy here. You and Sasuke come right after the God himself. Me and three others were created then and the list goes on like that. The only difference between you and me is that you were created straight from the Great Man himself, and I used to be a human." Naruto then grabbed the whole bowl of fruits and started popping them into his mouth.

But Sakura's mind was racing. Where was this guy few hours ago! He would tell her everything she needed!

"Why didn't He then create you like He did create me and Sasuke?"

"I'm not quite sure, but I guess it's because you two already divide His power in half. You're the light side of Him and Sasuke-teme is the dark side." In no time the bowl was empty and he reached for the other bowl, "Apparently He is very self-explanatory, so there's only two sides to him. Only humans are the ones with different sides to them, so using us as a source he can create a lot of different outcomes or whatever."

"Did the God you're talking about, create humans then?"

Laughing he replay, "Well who else!"

"Then if there's only two sides to Him, how can He create something with different ideals and sides. I don't get that."

His face suddenly fell and he placed the bowl back on the table, "He can create, but most of the time He can't control how they act. He can't control how they eventually turn out to be. That's why humans have a free will. It gives them the opportunity to change and make the world as they want."

Sakura's hand was squeezing the material of her dress. How can a God not control things? Isn't He supposed to be almighty?

"Unfortunately, the truth is that we don't know the truth about Him either. He's very secretive even if you ask Him these questions." Shrugging he grabbed a pillow and placed it on his lap, "These are things that are impossible to solve."

Sakura couldn't help the scoff in her mind. It seems that the God or Gods in this case are as big as a mystery to even themselves than they are to humans.

"This place is so weird." Sakura mumbled to herself.

Deep in thought after listening everything Naruto had mentioned, Sakura merely stared at him as he emptied the second bowl. This guy was honestly something and she had no idea which adjective to use. But as her mind drifted around the blond she couldn't help but muse that he honestly looked like the polar opposite of Sasuke. Sasuke was tall, dark and handsome, the man from every girl's wet dreams, but so was Naruto. Even though, he was loud and obviously really clumsy, he was quite handsome too.

He had the pimples all girls drooled after and the million dollar smile. Not to mention he brightened every room he walked in. The only downside must be his clothes because that bright orange top he had on was honestly an eye sore. But as he flexed his arms to put the bowl down, she couldn't help but appreciate the muscles underneath. Was it that all gods had muscles like stone?

Those wide shoulders and slim hips seemed to be the case with everyone. Unfortunately so far Sakura has only met these two, and everyone else has been women. But even those women looked gorgeous. She truly was an eye sore here. Her pink hair and emerald green eyes, her wide forehead and everything else about her were just so much unappealing.

"Oh! By the way," Naruto started and brought Sakura back to reality, "Has Sasuke mentioned anything about that nymph Karin?"

"Hm?" Sakura's eyebrows furrowed.

"You know the girl with red hair that used to warm his bed." Naruto said casually. But Sakura had no idea what warming a bed meant. Even if she lived in the city quite a while that doesn't mean she knows every slang word. Do they warm their beds or what does it mean?

"What does that mean?" she asked with seriousness.

"Warming a bed?" Naruto raised his brow, "Hm, you know, banging, relieving your sexual frustrations."

"What?" Now she was so out of it.

"You really don't know what that means." Naruto started to laugh and Sakura couldn't help but blush. She knew that she was a little out of it with these kind of expressions. In the convent they weren't that familiar with everyday language and even watching TV was something that wasn't done very often. They either played outside, took care of the gardens or studied.

"I meant that he had sex with her." Naruto was finally able to say after laughing for a minute. But as Sakura heard the word sex she felt her whole face heat up. She was horrified! She didn't want to hear this! This was out of her comfort zone.

"Okay, you can stop it right there!" Sakura's hands were up and she scooted away from the god.

"I honestly thought he would have told you already." Naruto laughed nervously, "You two are meant to be so I don't understand why he would keep it from you. You two love each other."

"We are meant to be? As in me and Sasuke?"

"Yeah, you're light and his dark. It's always been like that. You have no idea how frustrating it was to hear him pine after you for all of those thousands of years. If he had just kept his hands to himself then you would have been here all the time." He explained without a care in the world, and in a way Sakura was glad. She was glad that someone was telling these things to her.

Being in a place like this, a place that is unfamiliar to her, is frightening, and to hear some of these things was a relief. To actually hear that she had a past with these gods and that she's hopefully not going crazy.

But what started to immediately bother her was Naruto's words about this Karin person. She had sex with Sasuke or if she was to use Naruto's words , she warmed Sasuke's bed. And now Naruto was telling him that Sasuke, the god of Darkness, has been pining after her, Sakura. That just doesn't add up in her mind. If they are or were meant to be then why has he been with someone else.

Did he get bored with the waiting?

Obviously he's been flirting with her a couple of times, but has kept this thing to himself. In her opinion, a guy that does this is not worth the wait.

"Naruto, what are you doing here?" Sasuke's voice suddenly filled the lounge and both Sakura and Naruto turned around to see him under the arch way.

His arms were across his chest and it seemed that he was annoyed.

"Oi! Stop looking at me like that! I wanted to see Sakura, too!" Naruto instantly went on defense and made it known that Sakura was his friend also.

"Where did you even hear that she was back?" Sasuke inquired and walked into the lounge to stand at the end of the couch.

"I smelled her on Tsunade when she came by an hour ago." Suddenly he stood up and looked down at Sakura, "I guess it's my time to go. I'll see you soon!" Naruto smiled down at her and petted her hair before walking past Sasuke and saying, "I'll see you around, bastard!"

It was completely dark right now outside and in all honesty Sasuke fit this picture perfect. The god of Darkness in a beautiful room lit with dozens of candles and the darkness that surrounded the windows and arch ways. This scene was like from a movie, or a good novel.

"Are you tired?" He finally asked and actually a bit surprised Sakura found herself yawing. All the new information seemed to get to her, and she just wanted to dive into that soft bed she had woken up from.

"You can go back to your room and I'll go get your servants to help you." Sasuke said and left the room too. Was he nervous? He seemed a bit bothered, but why? Did he hear what she had talked with Naruto? Maybe that's the reason. Deciding not to dwell on the thought anymore, Sakura shook her head and headed upstairs into her room.

Two servants were already there waiting.

Sakura's mind was in a blurry. What was going on? Everything was so odd and confusing as if she was watching a some sort of TV show appearing in front of her where she could see herself interacting. She looked exactly like she does with her long pink hair and eyes that shone brighter than emerald. But as she continued to look at herself in the garden of her palace, she couldn't believe this was really her.

This person in front of her that she was watching seemed much more familiar with her surroundings and everything. The way she gently lowered herself down next to the flower bushes to grab a few dead leaves before getting back up and strolling around, it was everything that at this very moment Sakura could not imagine herself doing. She wouldn't even dare to touch the garden because in all honestly it looked too beautiful.

But what surprised her was that this Sakura she was looking at turned around. She looked straight into her and for a moment she thought that this image of her had seen her, but her thoughts were proven wrong when the smiling girl suddenly ran through her.

Turning around she saw herself jump into the arms of none other than Sasuke himself. Those two embraced like lovers and even kissed. Even though, she was watching someone that was supposedly be her, it was embarrassing to witness such an intimate scene occur.

She couldn't hear the couple murmur quietly between themselves before hugging again. It was creepy but even Sakura couldn't help the small smile forming on her face as she took in the pure love that shone from the man's face as he gazed down at the smaller woman in front of him.

Then out of nowhere the scenery changed. It was still her walking around the palace towards a pair of doors before slipping inside. Somehow Sakura was transported there as well and what she found in the room was everything else then what she had expected. There was only a single stone table inside and a glowing white ball on top of it. She couldn't hear what the Sakura she was watching at was saying but it seemed that she was talking to the glowing ball.

And just like that the scenery changed again. This time she was somewhere else. Somewhere she had not yet been because this place was much darker than her palace. The furniture were dark as she looked around herself she noticed the other Sakura sitting on a couch. She was playing with the strands of her hair and seemed to be waiting for something or someone. She occasionally looked behind her at the huge arch way before turning back around and focusing on her hair.

When finally after a while of waiting someone stepped into the room and the Sakura sitting down jumped to her feet and once again wrapped herself into Sasuke's arms. And this time Sakura could feel the ache inside her chest. She had no idea where it came from or what it meant, but as she looked at the couple, she couldn't help but feel sorrow and longing.

The way he looked at her was so enticing that no even actors could fake something like it. And the way his slim fingers brushed Sakura's cheek so softly as if the woman in his arms would disappear in to thin air.

They really were lovers, Sakura thought to herself. Unless this was her imagining things, than that what Naruto had said to her was true.

Then the scenery changed again.

And she found herself in her own bedroom, but this time she wasn't even alone with the other Sakura at first. This time to her embarrassment and and mortification, she was watching both Sasuke and Sakura in her bed. They were wrapped in each other's arms and obviously there was something much more intimate happening under the sheets than just kissing.

Trying to move away from the scene or even turn around was impossible. Somehow she was stuck in her place and forced to watch the scene unfold.

After that everything just came crashing at her. One moment she was watching herself give everything she has to Sasuke and then the next she could feel her chest constricting. Her world turned upside down and for a moment her world blurred on the edges. All the scenes she's experienced and the people she has interacted with came back to her with so must force that she wanted to throw up.

Her head felt like it was floating and everything was so confusing.

But she was supposed to be asleep. She can remember being helped out of her dress into a mid thigh length silk nightie and tucked in. And she remembers how the two servants had insisted on helping her change her clothes even though she tried her best to decline their offer. But the more she tried to fight back the more the servants seemed to get sadder. It was starting to be too heartbreaking so she had to accept their offer.

And every other time she's been in a dream, when pain comes, she wakes up. That's what happens every time, so why wasn't she waking up. Why was her head hurting like this and why couldn't she do anything about it. The memories didn't hurt, but she was overwhelmed by them. The feeling of the thoughts and memories was like a wave that only gave her the feeling of dizziness.

This pain was completely irrelevant to anything. The pain just spread all the way down her neck and to her chest. It constricted her and made breathing harder. She started hyperventilating which did nothing to help with the dizziness already causing her problems. In no time her limbs were stuck and trembling from the sheer pain and muscle tension she caused by trying not to move anything.

What was going on?

The only thing keeping her sane was the fact that she needed help and she needed someone to come here quickly. When she finally screamed it was like a fire had lit up inside her and she was pulled back to the real world.

When her surroundings finally came clear to Sakura she took in the sight of the huge room she had slept in. But as she tried getting air inside her lungs and breath normally, it didn't work. The pain and ache had followed her from the dreamland without mercy, and she finally noticed that she wasn't even on the bed anymore. Her shaking arms and legs were pulling her towards the huge double doors in attempt to get help.

It was a struggle and trying to lift her upper body in the air to open the door was a whole another battle itself. Her hand trembled so much that it was a miracle that she was able to get a hold on to the handle. Finally when the door opened Sakura's body weight threw it completely open and she fell into the hallway.

So confused and disoriented, she had no idea in which way she should go or where to call help. Her head got more and more dizzier by the second as she heaved and heaved trying her best to get oxygen into her lungs. Luckily for her she heard a crash in some direction and then hands were grasping her upper body and helping her to turn onto her back.

Her vision was already blotched with black and lights seemed to be everywhere. But as she was about to loose consciousness she saw the blond hair and amber eyes of none other than Tsunade, goddess of Health.

Sasuke was a nervous wreck. He had no idea that Naruto would barge in to the Eden just like that without even announcing himself. But in all honesty what could he even expect from an idiot like Naruto Uzumaki. That guy was a real trouble maker. Always butting into things that didn't concern him and telling people things that are not yet to be told.

And that is exactly the reason why Sasuke is feeling so nervous at the moment. He had no idea that Naruto had arrived and what made things even worse is that he had no idea what he might have told Sakura. He hadn't heard a thing those two had talked about. They had been completely silent in the lounge and Sasuke had to admit that he was surprised to see Naruto sitting next to Sakura quietly.

But as he tried to get into both of their heads and find out about what they had talked about, Naruto's walls had been up and he had never ever been able to get into Sakura's head. It is actually a miracle that Naruto even knows how to protect his mind like that, but that did nothing to help this case at all. The look on Sakura's face revealed nothing and Naruto left so quickly.

Mostly he was able to see the fatigue that was so apparent on Sakura's face. She needed to get some sleep and that's what he offered for her to do. After she had finally fallen asleep and he was able to detect the calm presence of her being, he decided to spend his hours meditating. Unfortunately, one of his demon's contacted him telling that there was a problem at the Gates of Afterlife.

He instantly contacted Tsunade to get to Eden and fast. He didn't want to leave Sakura alone at the moment, even if Ichoyo was there. In no time Tsunade flashed into the palace and took a seat in the lounge. Sasuke left without a word to her creating a portal and jumping to the Gates of Afterlife. Luckily he had received his portal ability back and moving from one place to another was now much easier. He wasn't so depended on everyone else's abilities.

In all honesty, he would have expected the God to give him another punishment, but instead he gave Sasuke his abilities back. Of course, at first he had thought there was some kind of a catch in it but after questioning Him he had to get used to the idea that there wasn't anything extra coming. After that they had conversed at what had happened with Sakura at the Gates of Afterlife and he had even brought up Gaara.

Unfortunately when it came to the red haired man, the God wasn't giving him any answers.

Now he had to get back to Eden and get some rest. Tsunade was probably already expecting him back and as he created the portal to get back to Eden he couldn't have even imagined that Tsunade wasn't where he had left her. Instantly his powers kicked in and he sensed her in the upper rooms. He was like a shadow as he made his way upstairs in the utter darkness and into the bright hallway. His brows furrowed instantly.

There wasn't supposed to be candles on this time of the day. Everyone was supposed to be asleep. As he rounded the corner into Sakura's room he took in the scene in front of him. Tsunade was standing by the bed with her head resting on her hand and one of the servants tucking Sakura in.

"What happened?"

Tsunade turned around and her eyes shone concern.

"I don't know. I found her in the hallway barely conscious and hyperventilating, then she lost consciousness and haven't woken up since then."

Sasuke was like a lightning as he moved next to Sakura. His tall body carefully sat down next to her and he stared down at her face. Her face was relaxed and no marks of distress anywhere.

"You didn't feel anything, did you?" Tsunade asked.

"No."

"Hm," Tsunade scratched her head, "That is very odd."

"I'll look after her now. You can return to you home now." Sasuke said and only glanced behind him before looking back at the love of his life. Her face was a little ashen but nothing more. Neither was she cold as he brushed his fingers across her cheek.

"Inform me right away if anything like this happens again. Okay?"

"Hn."

"Goodnight."

Something was shoving his side. It was something forceful and a grunt followed the push. Coming around from his sleep was very slow and none of his reflexes were alert enough when suddenly the bed just disappeared under him he tilted side way. Barely fast enough to catch his upper body, Sasuke grunted in annoyance and was wide awake instantly.

Annoyed he turned his head to look at a very angry looking pinkette on her hands and knees with a nightie hanging so low that she almost revealed her breasts. Quirking an eyebrow he looked up at her and in the next second she was throwing a pillow at him. This time more alert and aware of his surroundings, his muscles flexed and he dodged the pillow with ease.

Now that he was on his legs and his tall intimidating self upright, he would have thought that the woman in front of him would stop, but no. Another pillow was thrown surprising strongly at him and he had to twist his body to dodge that one. And then another one and another one. After throwing a impossible number of pillows she finally yelled, "How dare you!"

When she reached over the bed and grabbed the vase from the bedside table, Sasuke didn't dodge. Instead he caught the breakable object and placed it on the drawer next to him. She was oozing anger and it showed on her face. If looks could kill, he would be six feet under right at this very moment. But as he was about to ask what had caused her rage, something in her eyes made him freeze completely.

Somehow the change from last night to this morning was so drastic that he scolded himself for not noticing before. There was the familiar depth and intelligence in her eyes that was as familiar to him as his own hands. But how? Had last night somehow changed something? Did she actually remember and was not just playing with him right now. Because if she was than this was the cruelest kind of joke.

Right now, nothing would make him more happier than taking her into his arms and kiss every trouble and thought away from both of their minds. However that was impossible. Sakura was livid. And he had no idea why.

"What?" He asked calmly and waited for her to answer.

She was chewing her cheek and her eyes were glaring at him. She was on her knees on the bed and she has never looked more enticing than at that moment. Feelings suited her very good and he would rather see her livid like this than lying motionless without an emotion on her face.

"Really! You're asking me," she pointed at herself, "'what'!?"

"You could have gotten anyone else! Anyone!" She was yelling and shouting at this point. "But no! You're as stupid as a tree and chose HER!" Her anger just kept raising as she yelled at him. He flinched a couple of times and especially when she said her. This was not going to end well.

"Freaking Karin!" Her throat was dry as a desert from the shouting but she kept going on, "Are you retarded or something! You chose her and expect me to just accept it!" Somehow she found another pillow and chucked it right at him. This time he merely raised his arms to not get smashed it into his face.

"How dare you! You're the stupidest person in the universe! An idiot! Imbecile! Moron!" She kept yelling and insulting him, and he let her. He did nothing to stop her and nothing to even calm her down. It took a long while until her upper body finally collapsed on to the bed and she heaved. She was out of breath after putting so much effort into insulting him.

The truth is that he was everything. He was everything she was saying to him. He was an idiot. He was an imbecile and a moron. He was the stupidest person in the entire universe they lived in. He wasn't worthy of her. He was weak and arrogant. He didn't deserve anything. And he deserved her the least.

She was finally crying on the bed. Her tears soaking the sheets but he knew better than to go to her.

Her voice hoarse and broken she finally said it.

It's been too long honesty. It's futile to come up with excuses except life's a bitch.
