A/N
Hi everyone. I know that it has been so long since I have updated. There has been so much going on in my life and I barely had time to breath let alone write.
I know that when I updated last that I promised weekly updates . I'm
so sorry that I couldn't keep my word but I'm back now and though I still won't be able to update weekly, it will be at the most every few weeks. I fully intend to finish this story. So I thank you again for your patience.
To the guest reviewer that continued to give out saying that I was a liar and shouldn't make promises that I couldn't keep, you need to know that I do have a life that includes been a mother and my children come first in my life and as much as I hated to break the promise I made, it was out of my control so in future, if you have any questions then please sign in and ask me yourself instead of hiding behind guest reviews.
Thank you so much to my beta Karen Cullen Grey who looked over this chapter and made it what it was. She truly is a wonder and a good friend.
Enjoy.

"Mother, this is the last straw. You can't tell me who to love and who to be with. Now, I'm going to get Ana back and as far as Karen is concerned, she can take her broom stick and fly away because this bank is closed to her permanently," I snapped as I walked towards the elevator, waiting for her to leave.
She walked towards me with a pissed off look on her face. She was just about to walk through through the elevator doors when she turned towards me.
"This is not over, Christian. I refuse to sit back and watch you waste your life with that little piece of white trash," she snapped before she stepped into the elevator.
Just as the door of the elevator closed, I inserted my arm through it to keep it open. Mother looked at me stunned as I said, "If you can't accept Anastasia in my life, then we're through . I'm done. I'm a grown man, and you will not run my life any longer.
Mother gasped at me as I stepped out and waved bye as the door closed on her and our current relationship.
Chapter 11
Monday 5th September 2016
Ana's POV
It had been sixteen days since I stood on the drive walk and watched the only man I have ever loved drive away. Fourteen days since Mia stormed into my dorm room to give me a piece of her mind for the way I treated her brother.
Flashback
I threw a pillow over my head in frustration as the banging on my door continued.
"Ana, I mean it, answer the door now. I've let you alone all day yesterday but enough is enough. I want to talk to you and I refuse to move from this spot until you let me in," Mia yelled, through the keyhole. I groaned as I threw the pillow to the floor and got up to let my friend in.
Once the door opened before she stormed past me. I closed the door and threw myself back on my bed. I will never forget the angry look she threw at me before she started giving out.
"Ana, I can't believe you. I thought that when I was helping you to get ready for your date with my brother, you were going to fix things and get back together with him, not break him. I spent all day with him yesterday and I swear, I never saw him as broken as he is right now. What on earth did you say to him?" she demanded.
I took a deep breath before I told her the entire story from the beginning to the end. By the end of it, tears were falling from my eyes while Mia simply looked furious.
"I can't believe you, Ana! Did you even think before you acted? You have no idea the crap my brother went through or how persuasive my mother was when he was away from you," she snapped, her voice laced with venom.
"Mia, I'm sorry that your brother is hurt by what I said, but guess what? I'm hurting also. For the past two years, my parents put me through hell, and not only them but my brother and his skanky girlfriend too. The only thing that got me through it all was my love I had for your brother. Now I find out that he had a girlfriend during the worse time of my life," I explained tearfully.
Mia looked down at her shoes before looking up and meeting my eyes.
"Ana, I'm sorry about what you went through. I really am, but you haven't seen the way my brother handled your separation, and after your date the other night, I see him falling apart again. I cannot let that happen. I love you, Ana. Your one of my best friends but I need to be there for my brother. Until everything is settled, I can't be around you," she said before leaving the room without another word.
End Flashback
I lay back down on my stomach, on top of the covers and cried into my pillow. Not only did I lose the love of my life due to stubbornness on my behalf but also my best friend. Kate continues to run interference between myself and Mia but I see that the whole thing is taking its toll on her.
I groaned as I remembered that I had a class with Christian later in English 101. I tried to transfer out of that class but registration was closed, so it looked like I had to wait until next semester to transfer.
I took a quick shower and dressed in my favourite legging ankle skinny jeans and powder blue sweatshirt before grabbing my backpack and leaving the room without a single look at Lily who was still snoring in her bed.
I was about to exit the building when I heard my name been called. I groaned as I watched Michelle Jones coming towards me.
"Hey, Ana, how's it going?" she smiled. I wasn't in the mood for talking but didn't want to be rude. She hasn't done anything to me yet, but there was something about her that I didn't trust. However; she doesn't deserve my rudeness either.
"Hi, Michelle. I'm doing fine," I answered, plastering a fake smile on my face.
"I'm so happy I saw you. I wanted to invite you to my birthday party, saturday night? It will be at my parents house in the Hamptons. Everyone will be there and it would be a great way for you to meet the people who is at the university," she said, happily.
"Em, yeah sure," I answered only to get away from her. She opened her handbag and handed me an invitation.
"Great, the directions are on the card. Remember, cocktails are at five pm and the party starts at seven. Dress formal," she replied, smiling before leaving. I sighed and shoved the invitation into my backpack and exited the building before walking towards the student union in Lerner Hall.
I usually hated going there due to the crowds but I received an email telling me that there was a letter waiting for me. I admit that had my attention because I didn't know who it could be writing me letters except for Andrea but I only spoke to her the night before and she didn't say anything.
I walked in and up to the reception to find the bimbo behind the counter filing her nails while reading a magazine. I cleared my throat to get her attention but she didn't look up. I was about to shout at her when I saw a familiar face pop up from under the desk.
"Jose?" I asked, looking at him.
He looked back at me with the biggest smile on his face.
"Hello there stranger, did professor Grey give you the big hi ho?" he asked greeting me smugly. I threw him my famous 'don't mess with me glare' before he chuckled. "Sorry, Ana, couldn't help myself," he said, continuing to chuckle. I just continued to glare at him before he became sober. "Alright then, how can I help you?" he smirked as I sighed before handing over a copy of the email I received.
"I believe there was a letter here for me," I said, as he typed the collection number into the computer.
I waited patiently as he went to fetch it. Once he came back, he held it at arms length as he smiled down at me.
"I really am sorry for the comments I made! How can I make it up to you?" he asked sincerely.
"You can give me my letter for starters," I asked as I tried to take a swipe at it. He continued to hold it out of my reach.
"I know what you can do! How about joining me for dinner Saturday night?" he asked confidently.
I shook my head as I answered.
"I wish I could but I promised to make an appearance at this fancy party Saturday night. I wished I didn't. The girl throwing it seems nice enough but there is something off about her, I just can't put my finger on it," I explained.
Jose nodded his head in disappointment when I was struck with an idea.
"Hey, why don't you come along with me? At least with a friend there with me, it won't be so bad?" I requested as he smiled enthusiastically.
"Ah thank you! I would be very happy to escort you to this fancy, smancy party. Where is it and what do I wear?" he asked sarcastically.
I chuckled quietly knowing that all humor would be gone once I told him.
"The party is in the Hamptons," I replied, giving him the details. "Dress formal," I smirked as I watched his face fall. I saw his lips form into an o shape.
I burst out laughing before grabbing my letter from his hand.
"The Hamptons is a two hour drive, so I suggest that we leave early around two-thirty," I said, seeing the look of horror fall over his face. "Don't be late," I told as I picked up my backpack and walked out of the Student union.
I continued to smile as I opened the letter but once I read the words, the smile was quickly wiped from my face.
Dear Miss Steele
We have recently received a letter of recommendation from Professor Christian Grey suggestion that you become his next teachers assistant.
Since receiving his letter of recommendation, we have looked over your grades and are happy to say that with your 4.0 GPA, you pass the inquired intelligence for this position.
Normally we request all Teacher's Assistants to go through TA training season. The sessions typically take place a few weeks before the start of the school year, to go over the basics of what you'll do every day, teach you tips on how to work with students and introduce to other TAs in the program.
But judging by Professor Grey's recommendation and your high GPA, we are going to wave the Teachers Assistant Training, in exchange for you working and learning along with Professor Grey.
This is an excellent opportunity for a freshman. Teaching Assistants earn money for working with the professor, grading papers, administering exams and handling other tasks.
If interested in accepting this offer, then I request your answer no later than Friday the 9th September.
Yours Sincerely
Michael Mitchell
Dean of Students
Columbia University.
I couldn't believe this. Under other circumstances, I would be honored by being recommended for this but this is Christian Grey. King of the controllers the master of his own universe. He told me that he respected my request for some time to think but no, he had to pull this crap. Well, I'm the one person he can't control.
I shoved the letter into my backpack and stormed towards Havemeyer Hall and to his Classroom.
Luck was on my side when I noticed that he didn't have any students in class. Instead, he sat at his desk, grading papers. He looked so sexy with his ruffled hair and his loose tie. All I wanted to do was run to him and comb my fingers through his hair but I thought of the letter and his controlling ways again and my anger came back full force.
I took the letter out of my backpack and stormed into classroom, waving it in the air.
"What the hell is this?" I demanded as I stormed towards his desk. He looked up at me, his eyes shining so brightly that I immediately wanted to fall into his arms and tell him that all was forgiven but my stubborness refused to let me.
"I see that Dean Mitchell offered you the position to become my Teachers Assistant?" he answered smugly. I swear, I was running hot and cold at the moment. One minute, I wanted to kiss the shit out of him, the second, I wanted to beat the hell out of him. I needed to keep my cool as I continue to tell him what I thought.
"Christian! Why would you do this? You told me that respected me enough to give me my space, that you would earn my forgiveness but then you do this! You went behind my back, have me hired as your Teachers Assistant, telling the dean that you would train me personally. How is that respecting my decision and you earning my forgiveness? Besides that, I thought you were a broken man, I see that you recovered," I snapped angrily.
Christian stood up and walked around his desk, his arms folded across his chest.
"Well, gee, Anastasia, I didn't think being my assistant was all that bad. I mean, it gives us permission to spend time together; that is what we wanted, wasn't it?" Christian replied, his tone playful. "Yes, I was broken man, but, if we're going to mend fences we're going to have to spend time together."
"Your just used to getting your own way. I'm going to accept this position. Not because you recommended me or because of our past. I'm accepting this as its a good opportunity and it would make a great addition to my curriculum vitae. But as far as us goes, we're going to be work colleagues only. Anything you have to say to me, is to be work related only. Anything else is prohibited," I ranted.
Christian smirked back at me. "If that's how you want it, we will do that for now. See you in and after class, Miss Steele," he told her, smugly, knowing he got exactly what he wanted.
"Goodbye, Christian," I said as I turned to walk out. I was just at the door when I heard him answer.
"Laters, baby!" he told me, while watching me leave.
I hope it was all worth the wait.
Please Please review and let me know your thoughts.
