So, thank you all for those reviews about the last chapter! Annie is not good nor bad, I think, kind of like Maleficent in the Maleficent movie with Angelina Jolie. I saw it last night (May 30, 2014), and it was really good.
Anyway, I don't own Harry Potter or Percy Jackson much to my dismay.
My Story as a Demiwitch
Talking It Out
I sighed as I sat in a chair in front of the Ping-Pong table at the Big House at Camp Halfblood. We were having an urgent meeting; all of the leaders from the cabins (you know, the Ares cabin, Aphrodite cabin, the works) were there. Connor and Travis both came from the Hermes cabin, and I think it is because they are brothers.
Zoë Nightshade- who I consider my sister- was sitting next to me, and had some of my Mom's Hunters on her other side. Annabeth was not here from her cabin, because she went missing, along with my Mom. So, Malcom, her half-brother (who is a son of Athena) came instead to represent the cabin.
"So. What's the plan then?" I asked, bored.
Chiron then said something about a secret weapon or whatever. There needed to be a quest to find it. Of course, everybody besides Percy and I volunteered.
"I shall lead this quest, then." Zoë said. They all agreed.
"Who do you want to go with?" Chiron asked.
She finally decided on Bianca di Angelo, the newest Hunter. Her brother, Nico di Angelo, was in the Hermes cabin. They were both still unsure of who exactly their godly parent is.
Along with Bianca, she chose Thalia and reluctantly chose Grover. I frowned, and so did Percy.
I could tell that he really wanted to go on this quest, but only because he wanted to save Annabeth.
Gods, when will Percabeth get together!?
I too, wanted to go on the quest, but only because my mother was most likely with Annabeth.
"I think," I began, boldly. "That I should also be part of this quest."
"Why do you think that, Annette?" Zoë said, curious, yet frustrated.
"Because my mother needs saving." I said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Besides, you need me too. You guys are most likely going to cross water, and I have an idea that this secret weapon might be a sea creature." Percy added.
I nodded, agreeing with him.
"You two have already have already been on a quest!" Clarisse (who was a daughter of Ares) spoke up.
"My mother was taken, Clarisse. I need to save her. She is my family, and has taken care of me for nearly fourteen years. If your mother was in danger, Clarisse, would you save her?"
She looked down, and I heard her mutter a yes. I smugly smirked.
"You cannot go, Annette." Zoë said, softly.
"Do not call me Annette." I said, mad.
She rolled her eyes. "It does not matter, Annie. You cannot go."
"Whatever. Your quest is already damned anyway." I said, softly.
After everybody left, I stayed behind to talk to Chiron.
"You realize that they're quest is damned?" I said.
He nodded. "There are four on this quest. One of them isn't going to come back."
I nodded, and sat down across from him on one of the love seats. He was in his wheelchair form, thank the Gods.
"Chiron… something weird happened the other day." I said.
"Did it? What happened?" he said, curious about what I had to say.
"Well… I got really angry, and… animals- like, it seemed to be all the animals in the world or something- came to me. I told them- the animals- to go and kill the people I was mad at in Ancient Greek. I didn't know that I had said it, but when I realized that I had, I told them to stop in Ancient Greece. The animals then disappeared."
He sighed, and said, "That is a power it seems that you have gotten from your mother. She has the ability to call animals to her, and it seems that when you are angry you will do that."
"Is it… bad? A dark power?" I asked, worried. I didn't want to be a dark demiwitch.
"Annie, listen," he began in a soft voice. "Every power in the world is not good nor dark. You can make it good, though, if you use it for the right things. Using it for the wrong things will result in it being a dark power."
"So… It's sort of like people, then?"
"In a way, I suppose…" he said, mindful.
"I mean…nobody exactly is evil or good. Their only evil if they use things for the wrong reason and their only good if they use things for the right reason. That made more sense in my head."
Chiron chuckled. "Why did you get angry, may I ask?"
I took a deep breath. "Because… I was angry already that apparently… I had just learned that my father was best friends with Harry Potter's parents, and that he betrayed them. I was angry, and Harry blamed me for it. And somehow, when we found out about this, who my Mom exactly was got dragged into it. And outside the pub, I ran out to a clearing. Harry and I had a big nasty verbal fight, and at the end…"
I felt tears roll down my cheeks.
"At the end he said, and I quote, 'I hate you, Annette Lillian Black." I cried as I said that.
Chiron gave me a hug.
"They- Harry, Ron, and Hermione- were some of the first real friends that I have ever had. And now they want nothing to do with me."
"It seems that the world's best people have the worst luck." He said.
I nodded. "Do you think that they will ever become my friends again?"
He took a moment to think, and soon enough, he nodded. "I believe that they are true friends. True friends get into fights at points. It is only healthy."
"How'd you get so wise, Chiron?" I asked.
"When you've been around as long as I have been, you learn things and become wise sooner or later."
So, how did you like it?
