"The master thief Sly Cooper has been sentenced to seven years in prison." The news anchor reported. "I think we can all feel a little safer without this criminal on the streets."
Carmelita turned off her television by throwing her mug through the screen. She watched the smoke rise for a moment before burying her face in her hands. How could Brooke think he was going to get away with this? He wasn't going to get away with this as long as Carmelita could do something about it.
Carmelita stormed into the police station.
"Where is he?" she asked Winthrop.
"Inspector Fox, Inspector Brooke said you were taking some vacation days after Sly Cooper's arrest."
"Where is he?" She repeated ignoring the weasel.
"Wh- Who, Inspector?" he stammered.
"Inspector Brooke. Where is he?"
"He's finishing up some paper work on the Sly Cooper case. He asked not to be disturbed." he called to her back.
"Inspector Fox, what a surprise. You weren't supposed to be in the office for another couple of weeks." Brooke said as he saw Carmelita storm over to his desk.
"How can you continue to show up here?"
"Well Inspector Fox, I work here keeping criminals off the streets."
"How would the chief feel about your 'work'?"
"After all that criminal has done, a little bending of the truth can be justified."
"Not to me."
"Just let it go. Nothing you do can change this. He was going to jail no matter what. Where are you going?"
Carmelita did not answer him as she tromped to the chief's office.
