A/N:

Okay I am sorry about the longish wait and I sincerely apologise but this may be the last chapter until June sometime. Sorry, but unfortunately my GCSE's have to come first and this story is a distraction to my studying. Do not worry, I am still alive, I'm just overly busy so I probably won't update. See ya guys!

Aurora had gone back to school. She was so behind, but Maleficent had arranged for her to have extra lessons after school with different subject teachers everyday. She didn't do Latin, because Maleficent taught her that at home. Home… It was so strange for Aurora to be calling her teacher's home her own home...but sometimes it just slipped out. She did feel at home there, and Maleficent's daughter was overly cute and cuddly. Aurora smiled as she thought about Lilith. "Aurora!" her teacher barked and she jumped. She was in an extra maths lesson and was only about ten minutes into it. Her teacher was a man and she wasn't trusting of him at all. It wasn't even the fact that he kept staring at her because she knew he wouldn't be so stupid as to do anything to her. Maleficent would probably castrate him and then dismember him very slowly if he did. It was just the fact that she couldn't trust men anymore. She was far too scared to. Suddenly her teacher appeared in front of her with a furious look on his face. He shouted at her, but all she could see was Stefan's face and she scrambled back from him in fear. He continued to shout at her, and then raised his hand and slapped her. She backed up to the door, found the door handle and turned it, running.

Maleficent's eyes shot up when something collided with her. Whatever it was had begun to sob uncontrollably and clung to her for dear life. It didn't take her long to realise it was Aurora and she wrapped her arms around her as best she could with a take away coffee cup in her hand. She had gone out to the cafe across the road from the school and had brought back a coffee for the teacher who was supposed to be teaching Aurora at the moment. But clearly, something had spooked her and sent her running from the room. She began to soothe her, talking to her gently until the sobs subsided. "What's the matter sweetheart?" She asked, stroking the blonde hair that was buried deep into her neck. There was a mumble from her neck, before a sob escaped the younger of the two. Giving up with the coffee cup, Maleficent moved her body slightly and dropped the cup far enough away that it wouldn't burn either of them. Her reasoning being that she needed to comfort Aurora and could not do so with one hand. She watched as the coffee cup exploded. She gave a small shrug. I'll clean it up later, she thought before wrapping her arm around Aurora and cuddling her. "I didn't hear you," Maleficent murmured softly, turning her face into Aurora's hair and placing a gentle kiss on her temple. Aurora gave a shuddering breath before pulling her face away from the comfort. She watched Maleficent's green eyes carefully. She watched as they flickered to the red mark on her face and then back to her eyes, rage filling them. "He did this to you?" She asked, her voice deathly cold and full of anger. Aurora nodded, tears falling from her eyes. She found herself tucked back into the older woman's neck. Maleficent was trying to calm herself, but she knew it was a pretty pointless thing to be attempting. "Come," she hissed, taking Aurora's hand and leading her back to the classroom she had just run from.

Aurora snuggled close to Maleficent. They had gone home and were settled quite happily on the sofa, watching a movie. Lilith had gone to bed a couple of hours ago now. Aurora thought back to the incident earlier. How her math teacher was still alive and with the living was beyond Aurora. He had tried to fight his corner, literally. Maleficent had backed him up into the corner and was barely containing her anger. Anyone watching would have expected green flame to erupt from her body and if the situation wasn't so serious, it would have been quite funny. Aurora giggled at the memory of her math teacher standing in a corner, wide eyed, blabbering excuses and apologies, his hands gesturing wildly. You could literally smell the fear rolling off him. She giggled again. "May I ask what is so funny?" Maleficent's voice brought her back to the present and Aurora shifted down to place her head in her lap. Lithe fingers ran through her hair, untangling it. "Nothing," Aurora chimed innocently. Maleficent looked down at her and raised her eyebrow. "Hmm," she hummed disbelieving. "I'm sure." It didn't take long for Aurora to cave a bit.

"I was laughing at the film," she lied.

"Considering this is quite possibly the most boring, uneventful and non humorous film I have ever seen, I am having difficulty believing you my dear," Maleficent replied. Aurora sighed before maneuvering herself onto her side and coaxing Maleficent to tuck her legs up. Once done, she wrapped her arms around Maleficent's calf and knee and snuggled into her thigh. Maleficent continued to play with her hair, the sensations soothing.

"Maleficent?" Aurora asked timidly, her joyfulness gone. Maleficent didn't respond, she didn't need to. Aurora knew she had her attention. "What happens if Stefan comes for me?" She asked in a whisper. Maleficent's fingers stilled. "You could be arrested for kidnapping me and then I'll have to go back and Lilith will go in care and he'll hurt me again and you won't be able to save me and I'll be all alone and-" Aurora's panicking was cut short when she was lifted swiftly up and held tightly. Burying her face into Maleficent's chest, she let out a whine of fear.

"We'll cross that obstacle when it comes. For the moment you are safe," Maleficent didn't quite know what to reply with. It was obvious that these things would be going through Aurora's mind, but she didn't have any answers to those things. She knew Stefan would come for her, the only upside to this was that he didn't know that Maleficent still existed. He thought she was dead. Which was good. That gave them an advantage as he doesn't know where Aurora is. Shaking her head, she rocked Aurora until it was time for her to go to bed.

"Mama," Lilith's tiny voice called. Maleficent hummed in response. She had only just fallen asleep and wasn't too willing to wake up fully. Her little one most likely had a bad dream and wanted a cuddle or just wanted a cuddle in general. "Mama," Lilith's voice was more urgent this time, and she straddled Maleficent's middle, causing the body beneath her to grunt with the sudden weight. She then shook her with as much strength as she could, which wasn't much considering her Mama was very heavy and she had only just woken up herself. "Mama, 'Rora," Lilith called. That got her attention. Maleficent opened her eyes and blinked a few times.

"What's the matter?" she asked, her voice still gravelly from sleep. As if on cue, there was an almighty scream from down the hall. Lilith cried out and flung herself at her Mama, wrapping her arms around her neck as she sat up. "Sweetie I need to go to her, stay here for me?" Maleficent asked her little one. There was a nod from her shoulder and Lilith scrambled away, snuggling down where Maleficent had been laying before.

Maleficent ran down the small hall and through the open door to find Aurora twisting and turning, crying and clawing at her neck. Maleficent moved to the bed, climbed on it and pulled Aurora's hands away from her throat. She began to thrash her body in an attempt to throw Maleficent off. She didn't. With one hand, Maleficent restrained Aurora's wrists before using the other to pull her writhing body close enough to her that she could lower her wrists and quickly wrap both her arms around her, preventing her from harming herself further. Her arms locked in place as the young teenager screeched and wailed, causing Maleficent to cringe slightly at the volume. It didn't deter her however. Instead of shouting at her like most people, she simply began talking in a low, soothing tone, even when Aurora shrieked. Her cries began to lower in volume and intensity, her writhing becoming nothing more than a weak wriggle until it stopped altogether and she turned her face into Maleficent's neck and sobbed. Releasing her iron grip, Maleficent gathered Aurora into her lap and rocked back and forth. "Let it all out love, let it out," Maleficent murmured whilst running a hand up and down Aurora's back.

Once the tears had stopped, Aurora requested to sleep with Maleficent, which Maleficent agreed to. The older of the three females settled down in the middle of her bed, pulling Aurora into her arms whilst Lilith travelled under the duvet to snuggle into her stomach. It wasn't long before both of them were breathing deeply, Aurora sniffling every so often and nudging Maleficent's neck with her nose. Maleficent stayed awake that night, protecting the two people she held dear to her.
