A/N at the end as usual :)
December 24th 2011
Aria woke up that day with a big smile, starting to run around her house. "It's Christmas! It's Christmas!" She yelled still similing, while Ella looked at her with a smile.
"Aria, calm down and eat your breakfast" The woman said as Aria went to the kitchen, excited because it was her favorite day of the year.
"Hmmm... Hotcakes and honey" The petite brunette smiled as she ate her meal, waving to Mike who just walked to the kitchen with a sleepy face.
"I wanna open my gifts!" Aria yelled like she was again a five years old child and her mother sighed heavily, shooking her head.
"Not until 12pm, you know the rules" Ella answered and Aria and Mike pouted, finishing their breakfast with their mom and Aria went to change clothes because she had a meeting with the girls on Rosewood's mall and Alison will go pick her in her awesome car.
After an hour, Alison honked and Aria ran to kiss her, then she said hi to Courtney and Emily who were already on the car. Then, Alison drove to the mall, where Hanna and Spencer were waiting for the girls.
Spencer and Hanna ate the breakfast together at a French bistro on Rosewood's mall and then, they hanged out for a while, before meeting their friends. The days before that day were really busy for them. Hanna had a state Cheerleading championship and the high school team won again the first place of Pennsylvania and also, she had the final tests before holidays. On the other hand, Spencer was busy teaching Science, Chemistry, Algebra, Calculus and Physics to her classmates. Also, she was helping with the Christmas Show of the high school, studying for her AP classes and decorating the Hastings' home with all the "Christmas spirit", with a hint of British style.
"Thanks" Hanna said as she sipped her toffee nut latte, looking to her girlfriend with a hint of smile.
"Why?" Spencer stared at Hanna as she ate an arm of a poor gingerbread cookie, savoring the flavor and sweetness of it.
"For the most amazing month and a half of my life" The blonde said, packing Spencer's cheek and the tall brunette blushed, pecking Hanna back, but in her soft red lips.
"You're welcome. This has been the most exciting and wonderful time of my life, with you by my side, Han" Spencer whispered as Hanna snuggled into her arms, sighing with a small smile.
Then the beautiful moment was broke with an Emily text, warning them that she and the other girls were outside the mall. Hanna and Spencer walked to the entrance of the shopping center and said hi to their friends. After a little chat, they started to walk, watching and buying clothes, accesories and the last Christmas gifts of their lists.
"Gosh, I'll need a truck to take home all my bags" Hanna cried as her friends laughed, looking how many bags she had in her hands. Her time had been really short to buy everything that she needed for Christmas thanks to the last busy weeks, so she had to buy everything on that day. Fortunately she had bought stuff online, so the gifts for the girls were done and wrapped. Now she had to wrap her mom and family gifts, try out a cute outfit for the dinner and then, wrap the gifts for Cheerleading team.
"Hanna Marin, the oficial shopaholic of Rosewood" Alison stated and the girls laughed again as Hanna pouted. Spencer kissed her put away and the group did an unison 'awww'.
"No gift for you this Christmas" Spencer said to Alison as she rolled her eyes, helping Hanna with her bags.
Then they exchanged goodbyes and went to their respective cars, loading them with their bags. After all, they would have the chance to meet after midnight to open the gifts and show and tell what they got.
"Hanna! Aunt Marissa is here!" Ashley yelled to her daughter as she greeted her sister and her nephews.
The blonde quickly ran downstairs, hugging her aunt with her dimpled charming smile.
"Hanna, it had been a long time darling" Marissa said to Hanna as she let her greet her cousins, who were really happy to see her.
Then, Hanna and Ashley greeted the rest of their family with hugs and kisses, everyone dropping the presents into hidden places, so the little kids wouldn't find them.
Marin's house was crowded with people; all talking in a slightly high voice, listening to Christmas rock songs while they danced, Hanna with her two cousins Marina and Rhea speaking about the latest fashion shows while they were laughing at wardrobe malfunctions that Hanna put on her iPad and drinking diet soft drinks.
Hanna loved Christmas time, because her family was together in her house or another house, even if they had fights or issues during the year. She sighed happily as her mother sliced the turkey on the table and served the pieces on plates with salad, staring everyone's faces, hearing their voices, recording in her mind how they were celebrating that day.
Meanwhile on Hastings' house, the was peaceful, until Peter arrived with his mom, sisters, nephews, brothers and Melissa; who left UPenn that day to spencer her hildays with her family.
"Spencer, granny is here!" As Peter shouted that, Spencer was already hugging Nana Hastings, her grandmother, a woman that inspired respect and knowledge only with a look from her eyes.
"Oh, Spencer, how tall and pretty are you now" Nana chuckled with Spencer as she carried her granny's luggage to the guests room.
"Hastings' effect, Nana" Spencer replied with a chuckle, leaving her Nana alone in her room.
Like Hanna's house, Spencer's house was full of people; with the difference that they were talking about England, the best things they have done, their achievements so far for that year and another stuff that, although Spencer liked to talk with people, she wasn't interested on that for Christmas.
She sat next to Melissa and started to text Hanna, who replied later thanks to her cousins. The brunette shighed boring as she stared her grandfather's clock, wanting to run away from that house to see Hanna and her friends.
Spencer barely ate her dinner and then, she sat down on the floor of the main room of the house, texting to her friends and playing with her iPhone, wishing it was already 12pm.
Alison and Courtney's Christmas was really sad for them. Although they were together, their parents and their brother weren't in house. Jason decided to stay in New York, in his girlfriend's house with her parents. Their mother had a business travel to San Francisco, CA and their father was in Mexico, doing business staff too.
Courtney ordered a Chiniese food delivery and Alison paid it as a present. Under the Christmas tree was full of gifts for them, because they had their credit cards full of money from their relatives, but it felt like nobody in their families wanted them truly. Their relatives just gave them the money like they were a pair of tramps. At least, that's what they felt, but nobody would know that, except their friends.
They ate the dinner watching Christmas Cupid and then, they were playing with their iPhones, until it was 11:30. Courtney and Alison ran upstairs and started to fix their hair, makeup, changing clothes, testing parfums and when they finished, it was already 12 o'clock.
Alison grinned as she started to open the gifts for her. A new iPhone, iPhone cases, OPI nail polish, clothes, shoes... Courtney had the same stuff. In bags, they separated all their gifts and took the bags to a car, riding to see their girlfriends.
Emily had decorated her house with Pam's help, finishing the decoration process with a mistletoe on the ceiling in the middle of the living room. They were alone, because Pam's mother was dead and Wayne's mother was in another country with her couple. To cheer Emily, her mom cooked a special dinner for them: couscous with chicken and turkey, mini white pizzas, kebab sticks and caesar salad. For the dessert, a lot of ice cream with everything that she wanted as topping. Pam knew that having her husband on Afghanistan on this time of the year was something sad for her and her daughter, but they knew that Wayne was working for the country and protecting their lives and American people lives too.
"Emily, dinner is ready" Chanted Pam as they sat down and ate the dinner, watching a Christmas Jeopardy! special chapter on the kitchen's TV. They didn't bothered on take dinner on the dinning room, because they were alone and it was quickly to clean there.
After the delicious meals, Emily went to her room as she fixed her makeup, clothes and applied a hint of parfum. Pam knew that her daughter had plans for the night, so she went to her room too, turned on the house computer and logged in Skype and called her husband, who answered the call with a big smile, announcing that he was about to take the flight back to home, and that he had finished with his mission on Afghanistan.
It was the best gift that Emily could have that Christmas: her father was finally coming back to Rosewood to see them for a long period of time.
On Aria's house, the small brunette had a big mess with her little cousins Tara, Michael, Austin and Bernard. After dinner, she got up of the table first, followed by the little kids whom asked her to play with them.
Aria chuckled as she covered her eyes, counting from one to ten with her eyes closed. They will play Hide and Seek until it was time to chase Santa. After shout ten, Aria ran on the house chasing the little kids and after they got bored with that game, Austin said that they would play Twister on the living room.
The kids and Aria groaned in pain as their limbs were tangled and they felt pain on their muscles. Aria was the first to fall on Twister's plastic mat and then, her cousins did, laughing a lot because their pain faces were really funny to see.
About 11:50, Aria took her coat, her purse and told her family that she would be out for a while with Alison, but after 12pm. She was waiting her gifts, really anxious as her little cousins were.
Spencer rang Marin's house bell and stood up in front of the door, waiting to someone for open it. It was cold and by the hour, maybe they wouldn't open to her. Maybe Hanna also was chasing Santa Claus with her little cousins or Hanna wasn't on Rosewood that night.
Fortunately those thoughts were dissipated by Marissa, Hanna's aunt. Spencer just said her name, when the woman made her came inside the house.
"Hanna!" Maissa shouted as she saw Hanna run where she was. "Visits" Said the woman, leaving Hanna and Spencer alone for a while.
"Spence!" Hanna smiled, kissing her girlfriend happily. "Wwhat are you doing here? Your family isn't on home today?" She asked, pecking Spencer as the brunette looked at her.
"It's not that... Well, they're on home, but they just... I wanted to come and see you, right?" The brunette whispered before she sauntered to the living room, greeting all Marin family with happiness.
Spencer just felt like in home. They weren't speaking about how good they did on their occupations nor bragging about their clothes. Instead, the old Mama Marin was telling funny stories of when she was a young woman like Spencer or Hanna were, making the entire household laugh with her mischievous acts.
The girls finally meet on Rosewood's Square, with their gifts on bags or purses, wishing eachother a Merry Christmas. They didn't follow the tradition of look for Santa when it was 12pm, but they opened their gifts and showed them to the others.
They had a great time as usual, together, but in couples at the same time; looking to the stars and enjoying the smells of the town.
To be continued...
