AN~ Finally, an update! Sorry, guys. Didn't mean for this to take so long. I needed book access for some of it, though, and I didn't have that. Plus life is a mess. I might be back now, though. Maybe.

Axel Treehorn: I added them to the list! They'll probably show up around chapter 13.

Midnight: Oooh, I like Butterfly Kisses. The explanation to Bradley might be hard to squeeze into a hundred words, but I'll try.

Streaking

What the card soldier really wanted to do was be a streaker.

Actually, he was a streaker. He never wore clothes.

But he wanted people to gasp and get embarrassed when they saw him. He wanted to run across parks and scare people, make them hide their children's eyes. He wanted the rush of knowing he was doing something taboo. He wanted to laugh at their expressions.

Unfortunately, card soldiers didn't have genitals. Nobody could tell if he was wearing clothes or not. And they probably wouldn't care even if they did know he was naked.

It was very frustrating.

Apalachicola

"My baby said her first word today," Charming tells the Grimms proudly. Snow's just brought them over after something she was doing, and he can't wait to tell them that the baby talked in front of him.

"Really?" Daphne asks, full of excitement. "What was it?"

"Appalachiola," Billy says proudly. It's a big word.

Nobody else seems as excited as he is, though. In fact, Sabrina, Puck, and Jake all start laughing.

"What?" he demands.

"That's not a word," Sabrina points out around laughter. "It's nonsense."

Billy is offended. He looks at his wife.

She shrugs. "What can you do?"

Promise Ring

Puck gave Sabrina a promise ring back in high school. She wore it for years. Even during her third year of college, months after he's disappeared, she keeps wearing the thing. He promised he'd stay with her. And just because she hasn't heard from him doesn't mean he won't come back. Maybe he's in danger somewhere, and talking to her would give him away. Every time a boy smiles at her, she fingers the ring to remind herself. He will come back. Someday.

It's over two years before she gives up, takes the ring off, and smiles back at Bradley.

Downpour

It would be bad enough that he's losing his house. It would be bad enough that this idyllic town full of secrets is now raising its taxes by about a hundred percent, and he can't afford to pay them.

It would be bad enough if the new mayor wasn't a horrible human being. It would be bad enough that weird things kept happening (like those Indian reenactors). It would be bad enough if he didn't keep forgetting things.

But that's not all.

Now it's raining. He's caught in the middle of a downpour, and everything is going wrong at once.

Musty

The house in Ferryport Landing was empty for years before Steven moves in. It smells it, too. It's damp and dusty all at once, like things untouched and unattended in a building that is not quite as airtight as it would like to be. And the smell never goes away, though he lives in the house for years. He grows immune to it when he stays inside for long enough, but it always meets him when he comes home after absences. And when he has to leave because of the taxes, he misses the smell, the must that means home.

Gale

Jake's just been shot. He's going to die. It's okay, though, because he'll finally be with Briar again. It's been fifteen years since their house was destroyed, since the Scarlet Hand destroyed the world, and he's ready to stop fighting.

So he doesn't even move as the enormous gale chases everyone else away and the storm falls on top of him.

And when he sees Sabrina, he's not surprised by how short and young she looks, or how confused.

Then the wind rises again, and he's gone, and for a second he thinks he sees Briar's face.

Then there's nothing.

Staged

There was no way this was actually happening. This weird man with a bear was not walking around his yard with his two dirty daughters demanding to know the date, of all things.

It was definitely not happening. This kind of thing didn't happen to ordinary people. Ever.

So it had to be staged. Maybe he was on candid camera, or this was an elaborate prank. Jim would do this kind of thing.

But never mind. He wasn't falling for it, either way. These people had to get off his property, and he wasn't going to play their dumb games.

Serrated

The edge between the Wolf and whoever he lives inside isn't straight. It's a rusty knife blade that someone's consciousness walks, a line between sanity and feral madness.

The Wolf loves it. It loves pushing that uneven edge, pressing its host's emotions, tugging at the anger that resides under the surface of all humans. It can't wait for the days when he (she, now) doesn't notice that the line has moved. These are the days the Wolf can run free.

These are the days it can kill.

There are other days that trap it, though. Those days drive him madder.

Pinstriped

Sir Kay has discovered, over the past century, an intense love of well-fitting business suits. They command him the same air of respect in this era that his sword and armor used to, and they're much more comfortable. Lighter. Not as itchy or noisy. The things are good for his dignity.

He spends most of his money buying new suits. His closet's full of them. He wears them in a loose rotation so they all get used.

One day he's shopping and for the first time he sees one with pinstripes. He gasps. It's perfect. He has to have it.

Licorice

Dr. P loves almost all kinds of candy. Well, obviously. It's why she made her house out of the stuff. The only kind she can't stand is licorice. And while licorice is useful for holding houses together, it's not something she ever wants to eat. Or smell. Or touch. Or see.

She's forgotten most of the details of what really happened back with Hansel and Gretel, but one of the stories she tells is that she kept them around to eat her licorice, not so she could eat them.

It's not that hard to believe. She does hate the stuff.

Shirley Temple

Bradford honestly thinks that the best thing humans have invented in his lifetime (his very long lifetime- long enough that he knows these things) isn't pre-sliced bread, or anything dumb like that. He thinks it's Shirley Temples. The drinks are so sweet- almost too sweet- and a bright red that makes his eyes happy. He loves to suck on the cherries in the bottom, and to drink it down fast, and to savor the ice cubes, which have picked up just enough flavor to be enjoyable.

Not being a mouse all the time has really opened up his food options.

Bambi 2

Puck's love of Disney movies is his best-kept secret. This, of course, means that it's one of the only ones neither Daphne, Basil, Granny, Uncle Jake, nor Sabrina knows about. They've found out about his pajamas, and Kraven, and everything, but they don't know about the Disney movies.

He plans to keep it that way. Forever.

Which is why, when he's finally home alone, he locks all the doors and proceeds to watch Bambi II with Kraven.

Nobody told him that Sabrina would be home in half an hour, though. And she's very emphatic about him letting her in. Now.

Victor

Puck and Sabrina are in the middle of a case, trying to figure out who stole Mulan's sword, when Puck up and attacks a Mongolian man.

Sabrina slaps her hand to her face and apologizes to everyone else. "He gets like this. It doesn't mean anything. I swear."

Fifteen minutes later, though, Puck's wrestled the man to the ground and is standing on his chest, holding Mulan's sword.

"How did you know-" Sabrina asks, staring in awe. There's no way he figured that out.

He grins at her, though. "Rule number one, Grimm: trust no one who wears a tunic."

Affair

"You're... cheating on me?" Sabrina asks, staring between Puck and the woman.

She's everything Sabrina is not: tall, dark, and elegant, with magic practically pouring out of her. She's also half naked in their living room, her limbs entangled with Puck's.

Puck looks between the two women, his expression torn. He doesn't deny it, though. He just says, "I'm sorry."

Sabrina wants to cry or scream or break something. Instead she just stands there. In five decades of tumultuous marriage, she never thought it would come to this. She feels like her world has just been shattered right underneath her.

Kangaroo Captain

"That's it," Sabrina decides one day, furiously combing silly string out of her hair. "No more pranks. I'm fighting back."

Daphne raises her eyebrows at her sister. "How are you going to manage that?"

"I'll figure something out," Sabrina says.

It's several days before she does, though. When Puck appears at breakfast demanding, "Where's my kangaroo, Grimm?" she knows she's succeeded.

She smiles demurely. "He's safe. You'll see him again if you swear to stop pranking."

Puck makes it a week, one blissful week, before he begs Sabrina for his kangaroo back. She returns it and it's like nothing changed.

Bleeding through the Soul

"What does that even mean?" Sabrina asks. "How can you bleed through the soul?"

Daphne shrugs. "Dunno, but I'm pretty sure you've just been cursed."

Puck laughs. "Nice one."

Sabrina smacks him, but she suddenly looks pale. "I don't feel so good."

Puck and Daphne trade worried looks.

Several hours of research later, it turns out that the curse means that when Sabrina's feelings are hurt, it kills her.

Sabrina smirks at Puck and says, "Looks like you're gonna have to be nice to me, dipwad. Unless you want me to die."

Puck doesn't say anything. He just hugs her.

Sex

"Mom, how are babies made?" Emma asks one day. "Dad said it was magic."

Alison laughs; says, "He told me that, too."

"It's true!" Puck protests.

Sabrina says, "Don't listen to your father."

"Well, how are they made, then?" Puck challenges.

Sabrina and Alison stare at Puck for a few seconds with identical expressions of disbelief, and then Sabrina begins an explanation.

Half an hour later, both Puck and Emma are making matching faces of disgust.

"You're kidding," Puck says.

Sabrina rolls her eyes. "You never put two and two together?"

"No!" Puck says.

Sabrina and Alison trade looks again.

Gambling

"Puck," Sabrina says, rolling her eyes. "You've lost three hundred dollars. Don't you think it's time to give up already?"

They're in Las Vegas. It's a present from Titania to celebrate their wedding, and even though neither of them really wanted to go to Vegas for their honeymoon, it's free, and Sabrina's a little afraid of getting on Titania's bad side. So here they are.

"Never!" Puck declares, putting down another twenty. "Rule thirty-six, Grimm! Never give up! Unless it includes books. Or writing."

Sabrina rolls her eyes again and takes the rest of their money out of Puck's pocket.

Mistress

"Rule 96, Grimm," Puck says, one night when they've been dating for over a year, after she's ended yet another makeout session. "Put out or get out."

Sabrina rolls her eyes. "What do you think I am, Puck? Your mistress? We're dating, and if I say no, then we're not having sex!"

"Then leave," Puck snaps.

Sabrina rolls her eyes and stands. "If that's how you're gonna be, fine. I don't deserve to be treated this."

Puck watches her go and, when he realizes she's actually leaving, puts his head in his hands with a sigh. He thought it'd work.

Plump

Sabrina's four months pregnant with her first child, and for the first time since she was ten years old, she has excess fat on her body.

Her hormones are acting up a bit, because of the pregnancy, and she's more self-conscious than she's been in years. So she looks at herself in the mirror and, twisting around to see her back, asks her husband, "Do you think I'm starting to look a bit plump?"

"I'm not touching that," Puck says. "Rule thirty-three: never answer a woman when she asks if she's gained weight. Jake told me."

Sabrina hits him anyway.

Sun dried

The security guard at the only radio station in Ferryport Landing is sick and tired of his wife's health food kick. Really, how much of the stuff can she expect him to eat? And all of it is disgusting. He just wants a hot dog. But he promised he'd try it, and he always keeps his word.

Today she's packed him sun-dried tomatoes, and they look like big red raisins. He's never had them before, and they look disgusting, but he's hungry, so he eats one.

And is pleasantly surprised.

They're actually tasty.

This diet might not be so bad.

Leather

Hatchett loves leather clothes. They make him feel like a real woodsman, and he's sure he looks extra impressive all suited up in flannel with a leather vest and leather pants, with leather boots and a mountain man's beard.

Not black leather, though. Always brown. Because it's about giving off the right impression, and black leather says "biker" more than "hero of lore."

He has to look the part, after all. It's more important than anything. His entire life is based around a lie, and if he doesn't keep up appearances, people might learn the truth- that he's a fraud.

Combing

Dwarves tend to go bald sometime around their seventh century. As they are creatures of magic, and not creatures affected by magic, this happens whether or not they choose to age. Mr. Three, though, has a father who comes from a line of men who do not go bald, so he has hopes that he will inherit that and keep his very nice thick hair for the rest of his life. He takes very good care of his hair.

But one day when he combs it, he finds the comb full of hairs he's shed.

He lets out a wail.

Chestnut

The desk was made of chestnut. Ferryport Landing had always been too poor a town to have oak furniture in its municipal offices, though the receptionist supposed that having actual wooden furniture - instead of that composite stuff (barely a step above cardboard) covered in plastic meant to look like wood - was a pretty big deal. Though the desk looked older than her, so maybe it was leftover from a time when furniture was all made of wood.

She really hoped they let her keep her job. So many people had been let go. And she loved her desk.

Graham Cracker

Mr. Easy likes graham crackers. It's a little bit odd, as most people over the age of eight think the things are rather bland and very dry, and most people under the age of eight only eat them because either they're too young to know better, or they have nothing better to eat and are accepting the food these adults buy for them for some reason (either out of a misguided belief that children love them or a love of how cheap and easy to store they are).

Mr. Easy, though, thinks the're amazing, and eats them all the time.

Hands

Her hands have changed the most. They tremble now, which they never used to do. They always looked a bit young for her, back in the old days. Like they belonged on someone ten years younger.

Now, though, the veins bulge, and the skin is soft and wrinkled on top, dry and cracked from the work she's too old for underneath.

Relda tries to keep a brave face in this war that has been going on for over a decade, but her hands show how hard this has been on her the way she won't let the rest of herself.

Vermin

Malcolm thinks the best thing about being an Everafter is that Cindy found him a glamour. It's a simple thing (not too fancy), but now he can be a human whenever he wants, instead of being stuck as a mouse.

He hated being a mouse- he still remembers women seeing him and screaming or throwing things at him. It was horrible, knowing they thought of him as worse than garbage- vermin.

Now nobody thinks of him like that. Now they just think of him as a big, quiet guy who helps Cindy out.

It's a nice change from the screaming.

Charcoal

Of all Cinderella's companions, Alexander was the most devoted. He loved her- not in a romantic way, because he never forgot that he was actually a mouse, but he did love her. More than anyone.

Which is why he had convinced the others to run through that awful charcoal that was still kind of hot, the stuff that would get all in their fur and never get back out and track everywhere, just to pick through a bunch of lentils.

He wanted to give her the chance to go to the ball, to have fun. No matter what the cost.

Dangerous

When Sabrina's paternal grandfather walks into the Grimm's house one summer without explanation, nobody is quite sure what to make of it. He doesn't seem to know why he's alive, either, or that twenty years have passed since his death.

Granny Relda is torn between being happy to have her husband back and completely sure that the dead should stay dead, and this is not going to end well. Most of the other fall more towards happiness or fear, depending.

Sabrina doesn't know how this will end, but she knows it's going to be bad. His very presence is dangerous.

Cliff

When Sabrina gets pushed off a cliff, it's literally the scariest time Puck has ever been through, because this time there's no way he can save her. He's been tied up by their enemies and all he can do is watch as the person he cares about most falls and she doesn't have wings and she can't escape and he can't save her and he's so angry he doesn't even notice that he's transformed into something monstrous (a skill he didn't think he'd gotten from his mom) until after he's killed them all and has Sabrina in his arms, alive.

Sea

Mrs. Finnegan has always loved the ocean. She's never been able to afford to live by it, or even within easy driving distance of it, but she settled for living near a very big river, and taking as many trips to the Long Island Sounds as possible.

Now that she can't even afford the taxes to live in this little town, though, she's decided. She's going to move to live near the sea. She doesn't care if she has to be a very old beach hobo. If living is this expensive everywhere, she might at least by happy and bankrupt.

Edge

Bunny has always walked the line between good and evil. Even before she rewrote history to save her daughter, she was more concerned with power than with goodness. She's always known where the edge is, though, and she's been careful to never step too far over it.

Giving her power to Baba Yaga, though, feels like it might be going too far. Once she does this, there's no going back. She'll have no power, and Baba Yaga has less of a conscience than Bunny.

It will save the world, though. And more importantly (always most important), it will save Snow.

Falling

Morgan doesn't know how to explain what she sees in Seven. She could have any man she wants, and she's chosen this silly little quiet man with no hair.

But he's a hero in so many ways, and everything she learns about him and what he's sacrificed makes her love him more.

And more than that, he's her lifeline. Ever since Camelot, she's felt as if she's hanging by her fingers off the edge of a cliff, just keeping her hold on how to survive in this world. It's hard to fit into this world.

Without Seven, Morgan is falling.

Murdering

It doesn't surprise Sabrina and Puck that an assassin comes after her. She's been making waves in the Everafter world these past couple years, trying to make things better for everyone. And some people don't like that.

What does surprise them is that they're on a date when the man comes up to murder her.

And even more surprising is that Puck's the one who stops the guy. Sabrina disarms him, but then he jumps up. There's a blur, and then Puck's sitting on top of him.

Sabrina stares. "How-"

He smirks. "Rule seventeen, Grimm- assume all assassins know karate."

Crow

Faithful John had a complicated relationship with crows. On the one hand, they let him help the people he cared about and the people who depended on him.

Conversely, they got him in heaps of trouble. Turning into a statue hadn't exactly been a picnic. And, sure, he wasn't enchanted anymore, and his master had been extremely grateful, but still.

So when the queen of the crows winked at him, he wasn't sure what to do. It wasn't as if he had a lot of friends. But she might get him in trouble again.

Too late. He was smiling back.

AN~ If I haven't done a word you suggested yet, don't get upset or think I didn't like it or something. If you gave it to me, it's on one of my two master lists: the one that's done (sometimes I get doubles), or the one that's waiting.

If you want to make a suggestion, that's great. I love suggestions, particularly for plots (I have a prompt problem, guys). :) If you don't, that's also great. I have enough words left for like five more chapters.

Tell me your favorite, and what you want to see more of! My personal favorite is "sex."
