None of Fairy Tail is mine, I just like to play dolls with its characters and make happy endings My way.
Lucy never did stop writing; it was just too much a part of her. She had moved to Crocus and been working as a reporter; but she still wrote to her mom and in her stories as often as she could. She did, however, stop writing the story about her friends. She may miss them and wish for all of those things to happen to them and herself, but it just seemed wrong to continue. So she gave the pages to Virgo, instructing the spirit to keep them hidden in the Celestial World under the strictest order not to look at it and to only give it back to her if Lucy punished Virgo for them; something Lucy would never do. She couldn't have it fall into the wrong hands or have it around Jason, her boss, while working as a reporter for him. It would ruin her.
Time passed quicker than she would have imagined and suddenly it was time for the Grand Magic games again. Lucy didn't have much enthusiasm for them, seeing as none of the good Guilds even participated this year. It was like without Fairy Tail to drive them all to make themselves better, the other strong Guilds just couldn't be bothered. The next thing she knew the fire tornado, that is Natsu, had wandered his way into the stadium and almost melted the whole place down.
It was like he never left when Natsu flashed that smile, saying her name and laughing the childish way he always did that pulled at her heartstrings causing exquisite pain. It felt so good to have him back in her life and feel like things were back to normal. Lucy slept more peacefully than she had in an entire year that night knowing he was there with her. She had to explain about Fairy Tail and all that had transpired since Natsu and Happy had been gone. Lucy got caught up in the whirlwind of Natsu's tenacity to bring the guild back together; and this drive, along with meeting everyone slowly over the next few weeks, allowed her to safely keep her true feelings hidden. There was always someone to fight or something going on to keep her distracted. It was only when they all started heading back toward Magnolia to meet everyone that the feelings began to surface.
The anxiety, sadness and fear soon gave way to overwhelming happiness upon converging with the members of her beloved family. Together they would rebuild the symbol of their strength, and try to lure back the few remaining Nakama stragglers. They were all lucky enough that Fairy hills was still standing and were quickly converted into an apartment complex for the guild mates without homes to go to locally. Lucy had managed to get her old apartment back after receiving her last paycheck, and also to send for the things she left in Crocus.
It was late, a few days later, and all of Fairy Tail had dispersed for the night after a long day of trying to piece the guild back together, again. Mest had told them about Master Makarov and it seemed likely they were going off to another continent to look for him. They also needed to get as much information about the wizards of this other continent as they could to be prepared to fight should they attack.
Lucy shouldn't have been surprised to see Natsu the moment she stepped out of the bathroom. Thankfully he looked and smelled clean, sleeping peacefully on her bed. This was going to be a problem! She should kick him out and yell, but she had missed him so much it was calming to her heart to see him there like it always used to be. There was only one problem, Happy wasn't with him! They were alone! Lucy slapped her forehead before her mind could wander and muttered, "Oh, no."
Unbeknownst to her, Natsu was watching Lucy out of the corner of his eye and silently willing her just to come to bed and not cause a fuss. He was tired and just wanted to be near her. He heard clearly what she muttered and then heard her sigh, as she took her hand from her face. "Oh well," she said moving toward the bed, "I'm too tired to fight with him and he sleeps like the dead anyways." Natsu had quickly shut his eye and feigned sleep as Lucy got into bed and under her covers. He smiled to himself as they both fell off to sleep for real.
A few hours into the night found Lucy somewhere between awake and asleep, feeling very warm in certain places. There was a strong arm wrapped around her from behind that seemed to be crawling up her shirt, warm breathe breathing heavily on the back of her neck, and something hard nestled up along her backside. When the hand found its way to her breast and stroked her nipple, her sleep addled brain assumed it was a similar dream to all the others she had been having for the past year. Lucy responded to the caress by grinding her rear up against his length and moaning the only name she could think of in this type of dream…"Mmm, Natsu," receiving a husky, "Lucy" whispered in her ear.
Another thrust and the thought, 'Oh heavens, he's so close if only…', followed by another squeeze and a whispered, "I have to stop having these dreams", woke Lucy up completely and she went rigid. He never said that in her dreams…."Na-Natsu?" she whispered, afraid it was true. Feeling the change in Lucy's posture, Natsu woke all the way himself. It took only a second or two for him to realize exactly what he had been doing and whispered, "I'm not dreaming this time, am I?"
The gasping intake of breathe from Lucy had him dislodging himself from her person rather quickly and throwing himself off the side of the bed. Lucy had been in so much shock herself, she dove off the opposite side of the bed as soon as he let her go. The two sat on either side of the bed, both as red as tomatoes, peeking at each other and trying to catch their breath. Lucy was completely confused, still fighting the sleep in her brain, and Natsu looked like he was ready to go fully into a panic.
Fearing the worst and knowing he had done something really wrong, Natsu stuttered a quick.."I-I g-gotta go", and flung himself out of Lucy's window. Running as soon as he hit the ground and not stopping until her window was out of sight. Lucy just sat there in shock trying to level out her breathing and wrap her brain around all that had just happened. Reality began to slowly dawn on Lucy as she crawled up onto her bed. Natsu, THE Natsu Dragneel, the flame brained idiot of Fairy Tail; had been having an erotic dream about HER, not just one dream as he had blatantly said 'dreams'….and had been fondling her in his sleep!
Lucy found herself in emotional turmoil at this revelation. Happiness that Natsu was attracted to her and acted on such in his dreams, bitterness that it had only been in his dreams; excitement that something could finally come from all of her unrequited feelings, but apprehension to not know how this would change their partnership and dynamic of their team. Frustration that he had run away was starting to turn to anger and sadness as tears began to slip down Lucy's cheek. 'What will happen to us now?' she thought. 'How can we forget about something like this and go on like nothing happened? If he pretends it was nothing, it might just finally break me.'
Time had slipped away from Lucy as she sat dazedly contemplating what had happened and her feelings on the event. She was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard a soft knock on her door. She sat up in shock and hesitantly called out, "Who's there?" "Lucy, its Levy…open up. I really think we need to talk!" the petite girl called from the other side of the door. Lucy had jumped up as soon as she heard Levy's voice and tore the door open just as Levy finished her sentence. Her own torment forgotten and worried for her closest friend, Lucy ushered Levy into her home and locked the door when she was inside. "Levy, what's the ma…" "Gajeel and I just ran into Natsu, Lucy." Levy cut her off. The sound of his name alone was enough to make it all come crashing down on Lucy again and she slid to the floor while tears again began to stream down her face.
It took Levy 20 minutes to calm Lucy down and get her to the kitchen table so they could talk over 2 cups of chamomile tea. "So Lucy did you want to tell me what is going on?" Levy began as she only knew Natsu's convoluted side of the story. Lucy explained how they had awoken and how they had each seemed to have been under the impression they were dreaming. Levy held her tea cup up in front of her face to block the smirk she had plastered on it, but her eyes must have still shown her mirth.
"What's so funny, Levy. Here I am telling you about something so wrong and all you can do is giggle?" Lucy spat out incredulously. Levy sat down her cup and took a deep breath before telling her friend all that was on her mind. "Lucy, you can act like this was something wrong all you want but we both know you and Natsu have been dancing around this attraction for years. Everyone in the Guild knows how you feel for each other except for you two fools. The two of you having sexual dreams about each other just proves it!" Levy stated succinctly. A little voice from the back of the couch piped up and said, "Aye, You should read her dirty stories and find out how right you are, Levy!"
Both girls whipped their heads around to stare at the little blue Exceed with his one paw in the over his mouth and giggling. Lucy's face had drained of all color and looked sickly white, while Levy's had gotten a bit pink. "What 'dirty stories', Happy?" Levy asked while sliding her eyes over to glance at a nearly panicking Lucy. "The ones she was writing while Natsu and I were away…" Happy began but a now furious Lucy cut in. "How would you know about that you mangy cat, you two have been gone for a year and I sent those off with Virgo to be hidden…"Lucy's voice died out as she realized what she had just confirmed and she looked at a very amused Levy.
Lucy looked down at the floor and asked, "Happy, have you been here all night?" Aye,Sir. I fell asleep on the couch after Natsu and I came up here to see you. You guys woke me up, lliiiiking each other in your sleep." Lucy was gaping like a fish and Levy's quick mind picked up and pieced together a few things Happy and Lucy had said. "So Happy, if you and Natsu were gone for a year without any contact with any of us, how did you know Lucy had been writing anything at all?"
Lucy snapped her head to stare at the Exceed wanting to know the answer to this question as well. "Natsu would send me to check up on you Lucy, he wanted to make sure you were ok. I came across your dirty book right after you left with Loke to visit with Aquarius. I also think Natsu just wanted to make me leave for a bit so he could look at a magazine photo he found of Lucy and do funny things with himself…" At this, Lucy's eyes rolled up into her head and she promptly fainted.
Sorry to take so long, everyone. I've been extremely busy with work and life in general. Ten to 12 hour days will sure take it out of you. I hope this little installment is enough to hold you for a bit while I try to piece together Natsu's half of this, it is almost finished. Constructive criticism is always welcome, although I do ask you to PM those to not throw off anyone reading all the comments. Thanks
