"Hinata invited all of her female companions." Shino stated.
From the look of panic on Naruto's face Sasuke quickly remembered what he had forgotten about.
"Oh look there's Ino, Shikamaru and S—."
"Hey Naruto!" Naruto turned slowly knowing exactly whose voice that was.
"—Sakura coming over right now." Kiba finished waving at the three.
"Uh, hey Sakura."
"Naruto!" Sakura smiled running up to the girl and hugging her.
"Hey Sakura-chan." Naruto uneasily said. Sakura looked at her friend confused.
"What are you doing here? You never come to these kinds of events. And dressed up like this! Wait, are you wearing make-up?!" Sakura exclaimed grabbed Naruto's face.
Without thinking about it Naruto replied,
"Uh yeah, Sasuke put it on me—." She instantly regretted it when Sakura's eyes flashed with rage before switching back to a smile.
"Oh really? Sasuke did. So he came over to your house just to put make-up on you? I'm guessing you guys came together then, ne?" Sakura may have sounded curious but from years of knowing Sakura Naruto could hear what she really thought and it wasn't very positive.
"Uh—." Naruto was starting to seriously panic; her heart was beating a mile a minute. She didn't want Sakura to be mad with her and possibly end their relationship.
"Actually, Naruto came over to my house looking like a fool since she tried to do her own make-up."
"What—?!" Naruto started but Sasuke immediately cut her off and continued.
"She said she wanted to surprise you with how girly she could look so she asked me for help thinking I would know how to put on make-up." Sasuke finished looking a little annoyed. Sakura instantly light up and smiled.
"Oh! Why didn't you say so in the first place?" Sakura laughed slapping Naruto's shoulder lightly. "You look really good with make-up by the way. You should wear it more often." Naruto awkwardly laughed and nodded. There was a bell chine from within the house signally the start of the party.
"Oh, I guess we're starting. Let's go Sakura." Ino said turning to head into the main party room.
"Come on Naruto let's sit together." Sakura blushed and turned to Sasuke. "You can sit with us too, Sasuke-kun." She gave him a small smile before following after Ino.
The boys all awkwardly looked at each other, shrugged and followed the two girls leaving Naruto and Sasuke behind.
Naruto looked up at Sasuke who keep looking forward. She blushed a little and looked down at her feet.
"Um, thanks. For not mentioning what really happened that is."
Sasuke smirked, "I don't know what you're talking about, dobe." Surprised, Naruto looked up at the boy before smiling.
"Teme."
"Naruto! Come on, hurry up!" Sakura yelled from down the hall.
Sasuke extended his hand to Naruto. She hesitated at first but finally took Sasuke's hand.
"Let's go, dobe." Sasuke smiled. Naruto nodded and they both headed towards the main party room.
Sasuke was pouting. Not that he'd admit it and not that anyone could tell but he was pouting. Upon entry to the main hall Naruto had quickly let go of his hand and ran over to Sakura. Now sitting at the huge dining table he sat between Shikamaru and Kiba. Shikamaru sat beside Ino who was beside Sakura who was sitting beside Naruto. Therefore, Naruto was three people away so there was no way he could talk to her.
Hinata's father stood and all the guests became silent.
"I would like to thank you all for attending my daughters' birthday party. Her mother and I are very proud of her and—." Sasuke zoned out as the Hyuuga's Clan leader went on about how amazing his daughter is and the pride of the Hyuuga clan.
Sasuke glanced over to Shikamaru who was using his new jutsu which allowed him to sleep with his eyes open. He couldn't help but smirk at the genius' lazy yet brilliant idea. He then looked to Kiba who couldn't keep his eyes off Hinata. Sasuke gave the dog boy a disgusted look when he noticed the drool hanging from the boys' mouth.
"And now I present my daughter and my nephew, Neji, in a traditional Hyuuga fan dance." Hinata's father sat down as his daughter and Neji took the stage. The Hyuuga fan dance was very similar to the Uchiha fan dance. The only differences being that the Uchiha clan used fire techniques and strong, stern movements while the Hyuuga clan used releases of chakra and swift, gliding movements.
As beautiful as the dance was, Sasuke was bored out of his mind. After the dance dinner was served while more Hyuuga clan members preformed. In total it was three hours of hell for the Uchiha and finally Hinata's father was making a closing speech before guests were allowed to room the household.
After his long and boring speech, finally they were free. Sasuke shook Shikamaru awake and turned to Kiba only to find him gone over to flirt with the birthday girl.
"Naruto, wake up." Sakura whined shaking the girls shoulder.
"Huh? Five more minutes Sasuke." Naruto groaned curling up into a ball in her chair.
"What?!" Sakura shrieked. Naruto instantly jumped up wide awake.
"Sakura! I said Sakura! Yes! Sakura-chan!" Naruto panicked at the deadly look Sakura was giving her.
"Hm… let's g—." She turned away from Naruto only to run right into Sasuke's chest.
"Oh!" Sakura looked up. "Ah, Sasuke! Sorry about that." She laughed lightly touching the boy's arm. Sasuke glared at the hand.
"It's fine. I just came over to talk to Naruto." Sasuke stated.
"What is it, Sas—?" Sakura cut the girl off.
"Naruto? What do you need to talk about with Naruto, ne Sasuke-kun?" She grinned at the boy.
"That's none of your business. I'd just like to talk to her." Sasuke growled out not liking how Sakura wasn't letting him through. For a second Sasuke could have sworn he saw Sakura glare at him but it was gone before he could confirm if she had.
"Oh well that's too bad. Naruto's not feeling that great right now—."
"Huh? What are you talking about Saku—?"
"So! I was just taking her to the washroom." And with that Sakura grabbed Naruto's arm and yanked her in the direction of the bathroom while always looking at Sasuke with a big smile.
"Uh…"
"Sometimes I just don't understand that girl." Ino sighed before heading after the two.
Oh no! Sakura is suspicious of Sasuke and Naruto! What will happen next? Will Naruto tell Sakura about how her and Sasuke have been spending their time together?
I hate cliffhangers as much as you do but as a writer I must put them in. :)
