It's Only the Beginning

They all sat at on the blanket, happily conversing and eating the delicious food Nana had packed, 'I guess we're all going to Italy, I'll have to report this to Nono and Iemitsu, they'll be happy' he looked over to his laughing student and smirked, 'yes, definitely happy'.

~A year and a few months after~

Tsuna woke with a start as a hard kick was placed at his head, "owww, Reborn, why did you do that?" he groaned as he rolled out of bed. He stood up and stretched then picked up the alarm to check the time, "w-why did you wake me up so early?!" he shrieked, he was used to waking up early because Reborn made him run 15 laps around the neighbourhood every morning.

When Hayato, Takeshi and Ryohei found out, of course they wanted to run with him too so he let them, after all he did quite enjoy their company. "It's graduation, you don't want to be late." The brunette put the device back down and sighed in frustration, "but now I'm going to be a few hours early." He turned around, intent on changing since he knew he would never be allowed back to sleep, "well then, I guess you can use that extra time for more laps. 40 should suffice, shouldn't it?"

Tsuna sighed once more before giving his tutor what he thought was a fierce scowl and stomping out of the room with his running clothes on. He went into the kitchen and was surprised to see his mother happily cooking, "what are you doing up so early?" He asked as his mother whisked around the room like a pro, she turned to face him when his voice was heard, "ah, Tsu-kun, good morning, I'm cooking the food for the picnic we're going to have after the ceremony."

He nodded before taking a seat at the table, he and his mother participated in a joyful conversation and he enjoyed it, it had been a while since he had last spent time with his mother alone. Once he had finished breakfast, Reborn had appeared on his shoulder from nowhere, "ready to go?" the baby asked as Tsuna got up, he nodded, "yeah I'm ready. See you later mum!"

He walked out of the kitchen and walked to the door and wasn't surprised when he saw his friends on the other side, "I'm assuming Reborn informed you of the change of time for the jog." They nodded simultaneously, moving aside so Tsuna could leave his house, "let's go."

Tsuna sighed heavily as him and his friends clambered into school, Ryohei had broken off from them once they had finished their jog. Even though he woke up early, he was still almost late to school, all thanks to Reborn. They heaved themselves into their classroom where they would be having a short goodbye session before the final assembly.

Tsuna walked in and slumped into his desk, "wow Tsuna-kun, you made it just in time," he looked to his right and saw Kyoko looking at him with amused eyes, "yup, Reborn worked us hard this morning." She didn't have time to reply as their homeroom teacher, Nezu-sensei walked in. "Alright class take your seats." He waited for them to all be seated before continuing, "today is your last day of school, I'm proud you all made it so far and I hope you succeed in the future."

Tsuna had to hold back a laugh at the monotonous voice of his teacher, 'the speech sounds so rehearsed.' He calmed down as his teacher continued, "we will now go round the class and you will say what your plans are for the future or what you want to do in the future." The brunette froze, 'e-eeehhhh! W-what am I supposed to say!' he grabbed his hair in a scared fashion and proceeded to bang his head on the table until he heard a familiar voice, "I'm going back to Italy tomorrow." The class was silent before many girls started squealing, Tsuna turned to face his friend who was staring at the front of the class with a very annoyed look on his face.

Hayato caught Tsuna's stare and returned it with a reassuring smile, the other smiled back and immediately calmed he turned back to face the front and found everybody's eyes on him. He freaked for a moment but then relaxed and took a deep breath, "I'm also going to Italy tomorrow." They gave him dubious and he knew they didn't believe him, "I'm going to Italy too!" he heard Takeshi shout from the back, he turned around and was met by a bright smile from him.

There was silence in the classroom again, "u-umm, I am also going to Italy." Chrome spoke up, surprising most of their classmates, "ok, that's enough, I get that Gokudera would go to Italy since he used to live there, but the rest of you are just messing about." Nezu concluded, ignoring the glare the bomber was sending him. He was about to move onto the next student when Tsuna spoke up, "uh, actually Nezu-sensei, we are all going on the trip together, along with a few other friends of mine."

The teacher turned to him, giving him a vicious glare, "how long is this trip going to last?" Tsuna didn't know if he should answer or not, 'would he get mad because they were going to miss school,'

"two years, we're studying abroad." Hayato answered for him scowling at the teacher for trying to corner his boss. Nezu opened his mouth to answer but then decided against it, 'at least I won't have to see Sawada again for two years.' He shook his head with a sigh, "Fine, who's next?" Tsuna sighed with relief, 'thank god he didn't ask any questions.'

Tsuna stopped a faraway distance from the assembly hall before stretching, 'I'm no longer a middle schooler,' he thought while smiling up at the bright blue sky. His friends had things to do and had left him to himself, he turned suddenly when he felt a tug on his sleeve and came face to face with Kyoko Sasagawa.

"Kyoko-chan, what's up?" she smiled brightly at him, her fingers still clenching his shirt, "I just wanted to wish you luck with your training in Italy." He nodded in understanding and smiled back at her, "yeah, I'll try my best!" there was a moment of silence, she looked down to the floor and the grip on his shirt tightened, he glanced at them before looking back to her.

"Please stay safe Tsuna-kun." He was taken back for a moment when arms wrapped around his neck and a face was buried in his shoulder, after about a second he responded to the hug and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer against him.

"I will, I promise." They stayed like that for a moment longer, he ignored the stares and focused on the girl in his arms, her hair smelt like strawberries and she felt warm against him. After a while she pulled away and gave him another big smile, she slowly leant in and placed a small kiss against his cheek before pulling back completely, "Bye Tsuna-kun, see you later!" she shouted to him as she made her way to her family.

Tsuna's hand slowly lifted and gingerly touched the cheek that was tingling from the small kiss, "wow."

Hayato had left the school grounds, he trusted Reborn to look after his boss but that didn't mean he didn't want to be quick. He was running down the streets and searching but he couldn't find her anywhere, he even checked her school.

He stopped running for a moment to catch his breath he leant against the wall with his eyes closed, he heard small footsteps approaching but didn't bother open his eyes, "Gokudera are you ok?" he heard a small voice ask him, he opened his eyes and turned to face her, the girl he was looking for, Haru Miura.

~FLASHBACK~

"Hey Hayato, do you have someone you like?" Tsuna had asked suddenly during one study session, Takeshi couldn't be there since he had club practice and Reborn had some business to attend to, so it was only them. "Wha... Why would you think that Tsuna-sama?" Tsuna's eyes moved from the sheet in-front of him to the teen beside him, "because recently you've been staring into space a lot and you seem to be having an inner battle with yourself over something."

He paused for a moment, studying Hayato's face closely before he continued, "If you do have someone you like, please tell me Hayato, we're friends aren't we?" there was a minute silence, they stared at each other intensely before Hayato looked away and sighed, "I'll tell you, but please don't tell that baseball idiot or Reborn-san."

The brunette nodded eagerly, his homework long forgotten, "M-miura" Tsuna froze before his eye widened in shock, a few months after he accepted, Haru said she had gotten over him and didn't think of him romantically anymore. The shock left his face and a smile grew, into an amazing smile, "good for you Hayato, I'm cheering you on!" he said enthusiastically while patting his friend's back, Hayato blushed scarlet and murmured his thanks.

~END~

"Hellooo, Gokudera!" Haru shouted, waving a hand in his face, said boy blinked as he was lost in his memories. He couldn't look at her directly in the eyes without blushing so he looked at the wall he was standing near, "has your school finished?" he asked, trying to make conversation, she nodded, "yup all done, I'll be going to the same high school as you all next year!" she said excitedly, "we're going to Italy tomorrow."

He said quietly, still not looking her in the eye. Her excitement dimmed, "how long?" she asked softly, "two years." He missed the hurt pass through her eyes, "why?" she was close to tears but she tried to hide it from her voice, "training."

He turned to look at her, obviously hearing the hidden tone. He hesitated for a second before pulling her into a hug, her face buried in his neck; she was surprised for a second before she hugged him back fiercely. "Don't forget about me," she whispered into his neck, gripping his clothes tightly, he chuckled, "it's two years, why would I forget?" she pulled away and glared playfully at him, "it's not impossible."

They were lost in each other's eyes for a moment before she gripped both sides of his face and slowly brought his down to meet hers. She tilted her head up and tenderly kissed his forehead, "have fun on your trip," she whispered before turning and running away, leaving a tomato-like Hayato behind.

Takeshi roamed the school; he couldn't find the bloodthirsty prefect in the places he normally was. He was about to give up and go outside to meet up with Tsuna when something out the window caught his eye. He walked to it and looked outside, a grin threatened to split his face when he saw the skylark taking a nap under one of the trees in the school's back yard. He rushed down the stairs to see him, once he had stepped close enough Kyoya's eyes snapped open.

They scouted the area and landed on him; there was a short moment where they just store at each other till Kyoya stood up swiftly and tried to walk past Takeshi and back into the building. He was stopped by a hand holding his and pulling him back, he was used to this happening, throughout the year the same thing would happen, Takeshi finds Kyoya, Kyoya tries to leave, Takeshi stops him, Takeshi kisses his check and runs away.

They stood staring at each other, the wind blew and ruffled Kyoya's overgrown hair, "aren't you going to wish me a happy graduation Kyoya?" he asked with a lopsided grin claiming his face. The prefect scowled, "no."

The baseball player let out an enchanting laugh, "well happy graduation to you," he said, planting a small kiss on the older's cheek and stepping back to leave. He was stopped by a hand grabbing his wrist, "stop doing that." Kyoya hissed menacingly, his ryrs trained on the ground, the other chuckled awkwardly and rubbed the kiss, "does the kiss bother you tha-"

"not that." Takeshi raised an eyebrow, "then what do you mean?" Kyoya growled angrily before raising his eyes to look at the other, "you always kiss me then run away, if you're a man, do it and stay." Takeshi's eyes widened in shock, 'I didn't expect that,' he was about to let out a laugh but was cut off by a harsh tug of his wrists.

Kyoya pulled the other boy towards him and crashed their lips together. Takeshi was overtaken by shock and didn't respond, it lasted for 3 seconds before Kyoya pulled away, "and that's how you kiss someone." He turned and walked away sharply, not sparing Takeshi a glance. The baseball player stared even after the other boy disappeared before breaking into laughter, "didn't you just kiss me and walk away?"

Ryohei shuffled on his feet awkwardly, he was standing by a tree, watching his sister talk animatedly with her best friend. He wanted to talk to Hana but he didn't know where to start, his school had also finished early and he rushed to his old middle school as soon as he was let out. He was snapped out of his thoughts when someone tapped him on the shoulder, he looked up and saw it was Hana.

"H-HANA! WHAT ARE YOU EXTREMELY DOING HERE?" he screamed, surprised to see her approach him, "stop shouting you idiot, Kyoko told me to come over and talk to you." His eyes flicked over to his sister and saw her give him the thumbs up, he smiled at her softly, 'thanks sis.'

He turned back to Hana and gave her a big smile, "what do you extremely want to talk about?" he asked, keeping his voice low like she told him to. She shrugged, "how's school?" the dark haired girl asked randomly, "school's extremely hard! Extremely more core complicated than middle school, I'm extremely happy I don't have to through it anymore!" she nodded understandingly keeping her eyes looking forward, still not liking the volume but bearing with it, "I assume your also going on that trip with Sawada tomorrow?" she asked, remembering what happened in their class earlier, "yeah to the extreme! I can't wait to go; I'm going to get a lot of extreme training in. But I'm extremely going to miss a lot of people."

He said dejectedly, "like Kyoko and your friends." She stated, slightly warming up to the older boy for caring, "and you." He added on quietly, when she heard it her eyebrows rose, "why me?" she asked, turning to face him. He turned to face her and smiled, "because you mean a lot to me."

She felt a blush creeping onto her face at his words; she leaned over and kissed him lightly on the cheek as thanks, "you mean a lot to me too, I guess." She said quietly before walking away towards her best friend who was squealing since she saw the whole thing. She didn't look back, a smirk shown on her face because of the blush she knew she left the other with.

Chrome sat on the grass, watching the other interactions between families, the only people she really considered family where Mukuro, Ken, Chikusa and Tsuna. She felt a presence behind her but she didn't bother looking as she knew who it was, "Mukuro-sama, what are you doing here?" she asked gently, her eyes watching a happy family laugh together, "kufufufu, I'm here to see you Nagi. Congratulations on your graduation."

He said as he took a seat next to her, she blushed and looked down to the ground, "thank you." There was a silence and a soft wind blew, tousling their identical hair, "Nagi," he whispered, she turned to face him, his eyes boring into hers, "I'll alway's be there for you, don't worry."

He continued, a soft smile breaching his face, she stared at him aghast, another blush already burning her face. He lifted a hand to play with her hair, caressing it softly; he tilted her head down and delicately pressed a kiss on her forehead, "I'll always be your family." He whispered before disappearing into a purple mist. She closed her eyes and relished in the moment, "yes, Mukuro-sama."

~The next day~

They all stood in the airport, suitcases in hand, ready to board the plane. All their friends and family were there to see them off.

Tsuna gave one last hug to his mother and she gave him a kiss, "be safe Tsu-kun, remember to do what Reborn-chan tells you ok?" he nodded, gripping his suitcases harder, "yeah, ok." He walked towards the rest of the group to board the plane; he gave on last look to his family, his friends and his home, his resolve strengthened and he headed towards the plane.

At first he thought it was the end but it was only the beginning; together, they climbed aboard the plane to be taken...

Taken to the Unknown.
