Buttercup P.O.V.
You know for a fish this girl doesn't have much of 21st century aquatic technology. I expected more from a teenager fish. I mean it seems like Bubbles and Blossom are enjoying this very much, but me I just think it's a little boring. Impressive for under water but boring.
" So Aquafina, how do you live down here without cell phone reception." I said trying to relate a joke.
" What's a cellphone?"
" What! You don't know what a cellphone is? Are you serious!?" we all said together.
" Yes, could you please tell me?" She said and I sure hope that she didn't mean it.
" Well a cellphone is…" Bubbles started.
" A way of.." Blossom middled out.
" Communication, using sounds and it is a modernized version of the telegraph." I finished. Blossom and Bubbles starred at me like I was crazy. "What, I have history too." I darted.
" Well that sounds amazing, where can I get one?"
Blossom P.O.V.
It's amazing to think that a person, let alone a teenager, can live in this deep place all alone. Yet she doesn't know what a cellphone is. I mean I would show her mine but I just got it payed off and it's in my bag on shore. " I got mine from my grandma" said Bubbles cheerfully.
" I got mine from my dad." Said buttercup.
" I had to pay for mine myself" I said sounding really annoyed at how lucky those two were. But like always I forgot about it.
" You have to pay for one? Like in sand dollars?"
"No like in human money and a lot of it." I said, meaning it of course.
" Oh really, how much?" Aquafina said as if she thought it was only 5 dollars.
" Like 350$ not including tax and insurance." I said because I was the only one who actually had to pay it off herself.
" Is that a lot?" And literally at that exact moment Me Bubbles and Buttercup all laughed out loud for like 5 minutes straight.
" What, what's so funny?"
" Of course it's a lot" Buttercup said like everything else on that same topic was completely worthless.
" Well once I paid 25 sand dollars for a Fintop" She said like it was a big deal. And on topic.
" What's a Fintop? And wouldn't you think that 25 is a good price?" Bubbles asked because even though she's usually the confused one, she knew that we all were wondering the same question.
" A Fintop is like what you humans or semi humans call a computer. And 25 is a lot especially when you don't have a job or parents to give you an allowance." Then her face turned white. She looked lonely.
" You don't have parents?" I said. Then Me and Buttercup looked at Bubbles. Her face was pale her expression flat. Her eyes were full of fear and loneliness. Me and Buttercup knew what was coming next. But we knew in our hearts that we had to try to take back what I'd said. It may not have sounded that bad but to Bubbles it was a torpedo.
" Bubbles I'm-" I tried to reach out to her to comfort her but she backed away.
" They're not dead, They're just on a trip." She said trying to change her own mind.
" That's what happens when fear and self doubt mix with the loneliness. When you eventually realize the truth it gets even harder." Aquafina said. She is terrible at cheering people up. And just then bubbles swam away. "Bubbles!" Me and Buttercup dashed after her. And surprisingly even though she's the least sporty one of us all next to me, she's surprisingly fast when she's mad/ scared. When we finally reached the surface she was already getting out with her towel and trying to dry off. Me and Buttercup did the exact same. Then after we had our legs back we ran after Bubbles.
" Bubbles wait!" I yelled and when she turned around she was crying.
" You guys don't know how lucky you are. You think that everything just happens. And that the world is perfect. Well it's not. You guys have it easy, you have parents, a family. I envy you. Blossom you have a mom, a dad, a little sister. I'm an only child with my Grandma." She yelled and suddenly I felt like crying to and before I knew it I was. " Bubbles your wrong!" I yelled back.
" Oh really, and what about you Buttercup. You have a little and big brother, and a wrestler dad who's famous and a sweet mom who watches over you. I don't have any of that. Things aren't perfect all over." She screamed as if we couldn't hear her. Suddenly Buttercup's fist clenched and the water boiled.
" You idiot!" Buttercup slapped Bubbles.
" You may think that we have it easy but do you know the pain of not knowing what your dad's face doesn't look like? Do you? Or the pain of watching your dad in the hospital when he get's a severe injury? Cause I can bet that you don't." She said and this was a rare sight, Buttercup crying. Bubbles eyes grew wide. And that was when it just burst out of me.
" No kidding" I said.
" And you," Buttercup said at me.
" You probably have the easiest life out of all of us. No brothers no parents who have a crazy obsession with doing crazy stints where the can get themselves hurt bad." And that's when I realized it. It was true I did have the easiest life. And that's when I just couldn't stand it any more. So I ran.
