As the rain continued to pour down, the fighters prepared to make their first move. Wave made the first move by rushing towards Neo and attacking him with a flurry of strikes which he managed to block with his sword. Neo attempted to counterattack with a quick slash, but Wave back flipped out of the way, leaving them at a distance from each other. However, Wave quickly attacked again by throwing her chakrams at Neo which he barely deflected in time. The weapons boomeranged back to their master who caught them in succession.

"Not too bad. Better than I expected you to be."

'I see, so she's a close and long range fighter. She can alternate her attacks to adapt to the situation. It might be tough to get her at a disadvantage. I'll have to keep my guard up as well.' Neo refocused his attention back to his opponent. "So, are you going to start fighting seriously now? I know you're holding back to analyze my powers, but that won't get you anywhere in this fight. So, how about it?"

"Very well, guess I have no choice. I just hope you don't regret it later!" Wave began to charge up her spirit energy which appeared around her in a light blue aura. As her energy rose, the rain seemed to pour down more fiercely than before.

'The rain's coming down harder than before. Can she affect the weather like Ice could?'

After a few moments, Wave resumed her battle stance and prepared to attack. However, Neo acted first by charging at full speed.

'How foolish.' Wave moved her arm forward and materialized a stream of water to counteract Neo's charge. The water hit Neo full blast as he attempted to withstand it. He felt slight pain in his body as the water kept rushing at him. Finally, the water attack ceased, and then Neo resumed his normal stance.

'The pressure of the water she materializes is stronger than any water pressure I've ever felt; if it was stronger, I'd be in trouble. I'll need to find another way to get close; dodging her attacks all day won't get me anywhere.'

"Figured it out yet? I knew you might try to come back to Rabanastre to look for us so I waited until you did and I lured you out here" she explained. "It was all part of my plan to trap you and you fell for it hook, line, and sinker. The rain gives me a nearly infinite water supply along with the terrain of this area. Even if you try to escape, I can easily chase you down. There's no way out for you now."

Neo couldn't believe what he had heard. 'Damn, it was all part of her plan to bring me here, then she'd have the advantage and I fell for it! What should I do?'

"It's normally not my style to resort to deception like this, but you're pretty strong to defeat Blaze and Ice, so I will do what I must to succeed in my mission."

"Is your leader too much of a coward to come and face me himself instead of having you do his dirty work for him?" Neo asked.

"You wouldn't understand. Our leader is the strongest person I've ever seen. No one possesses the powers he has, so I believe he'll do what is best for this world even if many sacrifices must be made. Therefore, I will do anything he asks me to do, even if it kills me" Wave replied.

"You're out of your mind. What is it that he's done for you that you would follow him without question?"

"If you actually succeed in defeating me, I will tell you. Now show me what you got!"

"As you wish!"

Neo charged up his spirit energy for a few moments in his hand into a ball of energy.

"Spirit Cannon!" Neo hurled the energy ball at Wave, but she called forth a wave of water with her hand that blocked the attack.

'Darn, she can also use the water to block my attacks as well? This isn't good.'

"Now it's my turn." Wave concentrated her energy and called down several balls of water around Neo. He tried to focus on dodging them as well as keeping his sight on Wave.

'Dodging them all could take forever since she can call down several more. I'll need to use my shield.' Neo called forth his aura shield that surrounded him. After about a minute, the balls of water stopped raining down. He let down the shield, only for Wave to immediately appear behind him and put her hand on him.

"Gotcha now! Water Prison!" Wave materialized a sphere of water that trapped Neo inside.

"I never thought I'd get you that easily. I could leave you inside until you drown, or I could finish you off now, which do you prefer?"

'Darn, I was careless, how can I get myself out? I'll die soon if I don't think of something!' Neo racked his brain for a way out. 'I can't use any summons inside this sphere so maybe I can draw on their power. I can't use fire since it wouldn't work in here, but maybe ice would work since it can freeze water. Alright, here goes!'

Neo closed his eyes and concentrated on drawing out Mateus' power of ice. After a few moments, his right arm began to glow in blue aura.

"What are you attempting to do? Well, maybe I should finish you off now, so take this!" Wave jumped back and threw her chakrams at the sphere. Before they could reach their target, the sphere quickly froze which deflected the chakrams before returning to Wave. Moments later, the sphere split in half, then Neo jumped out, brandishing a blue aura sword.

"You escaped, but how?"

"Well I could tell you, but don't you want to find out for yourself?" Neo smirked.

"Cheeky aren't you? Fine then, I'll play your game." Wave materialized another stream of water that headed towards Neo. It seemed to hit its target until the stream froze and cracked apart.

"Impossible! You couldn't freeze my attack unless…." Wave looked at Neo's arm and noticed it was glowing light blue which also made his sword glow blue. 'I see, he drew on Mateus' powers and infused his sword with the power of ice. Now I know how he broke out of my prison. He's pretty resourceful and strong. I'll just have to attack him with something he can't counter.'

Wave materialized another wave of water which headed towards Neo. He froze the attack before it hit him, however, he noticed Wave behind him as she materialized another wave of water that headed toward him. Neo jumped into the air before the surge of water hit him; Wave jumped after Neo and threw her chakrams at him. Neo managed to dodge both of them and descended towards his foe to cut her; she managed to barely dodge his attack, but was still cut slightly in her lower body. To Neo's surprise, he saw Wave smirk, and then realized what was closing in behind him. Her chakrams sliced his back and he reeled slightly from the pain, but still managed to land on his feet. Wave also landed a moment later and recovered her weapons.

Neo felt the small amount of blood running down his back from his wounds and the slight amount of pain he was in, but it was nothing too serious he thought.

"You're tougher than I expected. However, it still doesn't make sense how you managed to beat Blaze and Ice, so I'll find out for myself. Are you ready for what's next?"

'Oh no, this can't be good…'

Wave closed her eyes and a light blue glyph appeared around her. "Arise from the watery depths and wash everything away, Famfrit!" Out of the glyph, a blue armored creature with a huge jar hooked to a ball and chain appeared.

"Wha, What is that thing?!"

"I figured you might be surprised, its appearance is unlike that of any other creature. You have no idea what lurks within, but you'll find out. I hope you're ready!"

As both parties prepared for battle once more, the rains grew even fiercer as if a bad omen was about to desend…
