This is the last few chapters from Leah's and Jasper's side. It will start from before Bella goes to Phoenix and Alex comes when she is at the Alpha meeting. It will include when Alex hangs out them, a small party, finals, prom.

Leah hunched over her laptop. It was midnight and she was still working on a paper for class. She yawned. She was really tired. Her phone beeped. It was Alex. Leah responded to her and went back to her paper.

Time trickled by her eyes fluttered closed.

She was shaken awake by a hand on her shoulder.

"Leah. Leah."

She opened her eyes to see Jake looking at her.

"Jake?"

"You fell asleep at the desk."

Leah yawned and walked to her bed.

She crawled under the covers and looked at Jake.

"What time is it?"

"8 AM."

"Good night."

Leah heard him chuckle and felt a weight on the bed.

Lips pressed her forehead and she heard, "Good night Leah."

When they woke up, it was about noon. They went downstairs to see Sue cooking and a sad Charlie eating.

"What's wrong?"

"Bella left. She broke up with her boyfriend and went to live with her mom."

Jake patted his shoulder.

"I'm sorry Charlie."

Leah chimed in but she looked at her mom. Her mom seemed to be holding back tears.

Then Sue walked out of the room. Leah followed her mother outside.

"Mom?"

Sue looked at her daughter and then her shoulders began shaking.

"Mom?" Leah touched her mother's shoulder and Sue turned and hugged Leah. Leah wrapped her arms around

Sue began crying and murmuring.

"I'm sorry."

"Mom?"

"I haven't been acting like a mother to you and I'm sorry."

Leah was confused. Why was her mother apologizing.

"Charlie, his daughter Bella, she left to go with her mom. Said some nasty things. And then it hit me, you could leave me and I would never forgive myself. I wanted a daughter to dress up and talk boys with and that was Emily. But I don't want that. I love the daughter I have. I miss talking to her. "

Leah felt her eyes tear up. She missed the relationship she had with her mom and she didn't blame her for loving Emily. Emily was a cousin and the perfect daughter. But she wasn't Leah.

Leah wrapped her arms around her mother and the two hugged tightly.

Sue drew back and showed Leah a picture she had found.

"I owe someone else an apology. I found this."

Leah smiled at the picture.

She must haven about seven years old. In the picture, she was smiling. She had an arm around Jake as was leaning into him. In front of them was Alex who was also smiling. They all look happy.

Then Leah remembers.

Once upon a time, her mother loved Alex like she was her own child. Then something changed and the two argued.

"I think she would like that."

Sue wipes her eyes and they entered the kitchen.

Leah heads out to with Jake to work on his car.

She could tell he was worried and upset about Bella.

She sat down on her swing and watched him work. She couldn't help but admire his lean body. He was tall, but she was still taller. He was still a growing boy.

She hummed to herself and watched him tinker with his truck.

The other boys come in and she rolls her eyes at their jokes. Together they manage to get Jake laughing.

Days pass and a week later, they find out that Bella tripped and was in the hospital. She was coming back soon, however.

This made Jake really happy. Leah was happy too. She was tired of having Charlie over 24/7. And a part of her missed Bella, it was weird not hearing Jake talk about her or seeing her in town.

Also she missed Jasper.

He and his family went with Edward to chase down Bella. Leah smiled. She may not like Bella but she was happy that she had someone who chased after her.

Leah wished that she had someone who cared so much. She may have sworn off love and guys after Sam but she wanted someone to care about her. She wanted to feel wanted.

She shook head and stood up. She was with Jake in his garage.

"Come on."

She pulled him away from his beloved Rabbit.

"Let's go have fun."

She dragged Jake and company to the beach. They screwed around and went for a swim and played games .

Leah was more than happy when Alex came by for a surprised visit. Alex however seemed to be distracted but Leah decided not to ask.

Things were tense when Sam came by. He couldn't have chosen a worse time to go.

Leah was tired and was lying down on Jake's lap. He was playing with her hair. Quil, Embry, and Seth were sitting down on the blanket, tossing popcorn into each other's mouths. Alex was leaning back, letting the sun hit her, eyes closed and smiling.

Leah knew something was wrong when Alex eye's flew open. She tensed up and everyone else looked over to see Sam walking up. With him, he now had Jared and Paul.

Leah's heart broke.

She knew Jared. She had babysat for his younger brother on occasion. As for Paul, they had a love hate relationship. They always argued but had each other's back.

Now they were with Sam.

Sam tensed when she saw Alex. Leah shivered as he looked at her and Jake.

She watched Alex stand up and look at him, hands on her hips. The two stared at each other and Leah could have sworn that Sam was shaking and Alex was growling. Finally Sam left, and Alex left a little later. She promised to come back soon and gave then hugs.

Seth, Embry, and Quil left later to get more food. Leah and Jake hung around a little more around the beach. Leah closed her eyes and ended up falling asleep to the sound of waves and a hand stroking her hair.

She woke up later when the stars were out, in her own bed.

There she found a note.

Leah,

You fell asleep and I didn't want to wake you up. Sleep well. I'll see you for breakfast.

Love you.

J

Leah smiled and shook her head. She got changed and went downstairs to find Jake eating breakfast.

She shoved him gently and grabbed some bacon off his plate. He stuck his tongue at her and she rolled her eyes.

Once they were finished, they headed off to go to something. They decided to head out and go shopping for car parts.

Leah enjoyed spending time with Jake. He had been all moody since Bella left and all the guys were over a lot.

It felt good that it was just them two.

They arrived home late at night and Leah texted her mother that she was going to spend the night with Jake.

The next few days pass. Alex comes over and spends some more time with them. They go out and celebrate the end of the school year.

However, there were still finals and prom to get through. Leah wasn't going to prom and Jake couldn't.

It was the night of Forks prom and Leah was sitting in his on his motorcycle annoyed. Jake had promised to take her out to dinner, but first he had to make a quick pit stop.

Leah had overheard Billy promising Jake car parts if he delivered a message to her.

Leah sighed. What was taking him so long?

A pair of hands touched her waist and she screamed.

She whirled around and saw Jasper laughing.

She scowled and Jasper shook his head.

"What are you doing here Ms. Clearwater?"

"Waiting for Jake to deliver some message to Bella. He promised me Italian!"

"You are going on a date?"

"Just as friends. We do this every now and then."

Jasper nodded.

Leah took the time to study him and smiled.

"Looking sharp."

Jasper smiled and then grabbed her hand.

"Dance with me."

Leah fumbled and pulled away but Jasper already was spinning her around. His arms went around her waist and she placed her awkwardly on his neck. They swayed and spun and Leah noticed he wasn't breathing a lot.

Suddenly he let her go.

"Alice is waiting for me."

Leah stumbled back, slightly hurt from the quick rejection.

Jasper sensed her hurt but he had to leave. He couldn't get to close to her. Her blood was tempting, but not as much as her body in the red dress she had on.

He took off and to see Jake walking back to Leah. Jake was wearing a fancy shirt and pants.

He saw Jake get on the bike and the way Leah wrapped her arms around Jake and then rest her head on his shoulder.

He could feel their happiness.

He went back into the dance with Alice but was distracted.

Alice, being Alice was smart.

"Leah? She and Jacob are only having dinner."

He nodded but was still distracted.

When they got home, he locked himself in the library.

He found himself reading the books he and Leah talked about when they first met.

Leah had to admit that dinner with Jake was fun. They went mini golfing and had pizza. They got weird looks for their fancy attire but ignored the looks.

She missed spending time with Jake. She missed going out.

She missed being happy.

She laughed as the waiter flirted with her, and brushed him off.

She smiled when Jake gave her roses. It was a sweet gesture.

He dropped her off and kissed her cheek.

She entered her home and fell asleep with a smile on her face.
