Yup... definitely know what I'm doing.
That night, Crystal fell asleep the moment she flopped into bed, her day had been tiring and the few moments dodging and running for her life from a certain cat had been worse. Her embarrassment at sleeping on Charlie quickly faded away as she let her exhaustion cover for her and she fell into the beauty of sleep.
The next morning, she woke up with the realisations that it would be the last day that she would get to see the dragons before they went back to Romania, it would be the last time she saw the older Weasley for a while, too, but she let that thought slide from her mind. The groggy feeling she had gave her the idea that she had, once again, slept in. In response to that feeling she whipped off her covers exposing her to the cold morning air and rushed to get ready for fear of missing her first lesson and, more importantly, her breakfast. As she walked down the staircase she noticed that is wasn't as late as she'd assumed and she slowed down to lessen the likelihood of her falling down the stairs. Luckily for her, in addition to successfully descending down the stairs without injuring herself, her grogginess seemed to be lessening with each step she took being replaced by a more moderate mood.
She made her way into the great hall as per usual hoping that it wasn't so early that breakfast had yet to be served; it hadn't ever happened to her before but, knowing her luck, anything could happen. As she walked through the doors, she breathed a breath of relief as the familiar smell of toast, hash browns and sausages, among other things, drifted into her nose. With a quick scan of the room, she spotted a great concentration of ginger amongst the blonds, brunettes and, even, bright pinks. She automatically walked towards the greater mass of ginger taking a seat opposite the twins, next to Charlie. The twins' attention turned from their brother towards her with identically worried looks on their faces.
"You've been plotting to kill Harry all this time and you didn't tell us about it!?" The both shouted causing several faces to turn in their direction.
Crystal poured herself a glass of orange juice-they didn't have coffee this early- and took a slow sip before answering "I wasn't plotting it" she said in all seriousness "if you're gonna blame anyone, blame the task designers."
"But you could have told him!" they both shouted, by now the others in the hall had decided the conversation was not of interest to them and thus ignored their yells. It almost surprised Crys just how much of their brotherly instinct they were showing to Harry and she was about to answer when Charlie butted in.
"Hey, cut her some slack, I mea-"
He was cut off by the very person whom he was trying to defend as she added "Harry's known for quite some time" This time, all three of the brothers looked at her incredulously, she smirked and continued "You can't expect Hagrid to know without telling the boy, he let it slip that he was planning on telling a few days ago"
"What!?" this time is was the elder's turn to shout "But that's against the rules"
Crystal almost snorted in her orange juice- he was a head boy through and through- but nevertheless continued "It's not like the others don't know either, you'd be mad to think those two headmasters wouldn't help out their beloved champions"
She took one last gulp from her orange juice, draining it uncharacteristically dry, and placed it lightly on the table once more "Plus" she added, directing her sentence towards the twins " You ought to give the dragon keepers some credit, they wouldn't really let the dragons kill them, right, Charlie?"
By now she'd seen them neutralise the dragons more than enough times to know that they were capable but Charlie flushed at her confidence." Y- Yeah. We do this all the time in Romania."
It didn't sound convincing at all but was, apparently, enough to please the twins and they happily drove the conversation into an even less comfortable topic: Charlie and Crystal's relationship.
"So..." George began.
"You didn't come back 'til late yesterday" Fred Continued.
"We had to amuse ourselves that evening." George said standing up.
"That got us thinking" His brother followed and the two of them climbed over the table, skilfully dodging the food that still lay there, towards Crys. Charlie took a sip of orange juice looking at the twins in amusement.
"You've been trying to steal our precious Crys from us!" They said simultaneously, each giving a half hearted glare at their brother as they wrapped their arms protectively around the one in question.
Charlie choked into his juice "Wai-"
"No excuses!" exclaimed Fred dramatically.
"What do you think you're doing?-"
"-Keeping her 'til late!"
"-She's not even of age!" they both shouted in a perfect imitation of their mother.
By now Charlie was flustered and his face, bright red, matching the colour of his hair. He was lost for words. Noticing his desperation, Crystal let out a small cough.
"*ehem* First of all" she began, taking the twins arms off herself "I'm older than both of you." She said in a condescending tone. "And Second of all," she continued in the same manner "We did nothing of the sort!"
The twins then turned to each other to share a common train of thought and when they turned around, they were each sharing an equally silly grin.
"Well." They both said in a tone which made Crystal let out a sigh. Pouring herself another cup of orange juice, she braced herself for what was to come.
"If you that's the case-" Fred walked towards his brother, placing his hands on his shoulders.
"-then you two should definitely do something about it!" George did the same to Crystal as they both pushed Crystal and Charlie closer to each other.
Before either of the two could protest, George continued "I mean, just look at it-"
"you two were so meant for each other"
"Plus! We always wanted you to be our sister."
"Now you can be our sister for real!"
The twins spoke rapidly, one after the other, leaving the two in question no time to even speak a single word against their barrage of shipping. All the while, their unwilling victims grew redder and redder in embarrassment. When the twins finally stopped, they looked at the pair to gauge their embarrassment levels and they weren't disappointed; both had faces in a matching shade of bright red as their faces glowed with heat. By this time, the pair in question were lost for words, neither wishing to conform to the twins' wishes nor to dismiss them.
So they sat there in relative awkwardness until Charlie shot up from his seat.
"Ah" He said rather too quickly "I have to go and get the dragons ready for this afternoon. You can come too, Crys, we need all the help we could get." He mentally face-palmed; he was only adding more salt to the wound but he couldn't just leave her there, especially when the twins have gone into full embarrassment mode.
"Oh yea, sure." came her reply as, she too, bolted up from her seat "Bye, guys." she said as she followed Charlie out of the hall leaving behind the two, now snickering, twins.
I... uh... don't know what just came through my head. I'm sure it'll work out somehow.
