Moving South

Inuyasha and Rin made their way towards the slayer village to check on their friends. As the pair got closer towards the entrance of the village Hana showed up to greet them.

Inuyasha's posture went ridged as he smelled her coming closer. Once the younger inu-hanyo was face to face with him, both froze causing Rin to roll her eyes at the two who were too scared to say anything to each other.

Breaking the awkward silence, Rin greeted Hana. "Hello Hana-san." Hana's head snapped to face Rin before she gave a quick bow towards the Western royalty. "Hello Rin-sama, Inuyasha-sama.

"Feh! Don't call me that." Both blushed as they made eye contact. Rin noticed Hana-san was carrying a bunch of fire wood she decided to try and help the hanyos take a step in the right direction by pushing them together.

"Inuyasha, why don't you help Hana-san with all that while I go see Sango and the kids?" Rin's eyes held a spark of mischief as he quickly looked at her arms.

"Oi! Give me that." He walked over and grabbed everything before stomping off towards the middle of the village. He was so embarrassed! He was too busy staring at her golden hair, perfect body, and beautiful coco eyes to help her out.

"In-Inuyasha! I can do it myself." When he just kept walking, Hana tried to call after him again. "Inuyasha! Ugh! You're so lucky I can't sit you like Lady Kagome!" While they argued back and forth between the two, the reason behind their fighting was clear.

Hana wanted to show her crush she could handler herself. She knew about his past two loves and they were both strong women. Hell, Kagome was now the Lady of the West. Then you have Inuyasha who wanted to prove that even any mate Inuyasha ever took would never have to worry.

As a hanyo there was one day each month he feared would be the night someone attacked his pack. Sesshomaru offered him training so his human night wouldn't be as bad as it used to. Between him, Kagome, and the Western Elders, they were able to find a way for Inuyasha to weld his sword like normal on that night. Now he just needed to show Hana he was strong and would make a good alpha.

How to do that he had no ideal.

'Those two are lucky they live so long. It'll take another hundred years for them to get anywhere!' Rin thought as she watched them argue. In the distance she could hear "Oi! Would ya stop yellin' and show me where to go?"

"I'd tell you if you'd hand it all back over. I don't need any help."

Rolling her eyes, the way her mother showed her, Rin went off to play with the kiddos and plot a way to tease Inuyasha tonight at dinner. Oh, her mother would be so excited to hear about this little update.

Western Lands

"Absolutely not! I haven't had to deal with him much over the past few years and I liked it that way. You are not sticking him with me for Gods knows how long." Kagome growled with her hands on her hips, hair was floating by the aura that surrounded her.

"Why must you act like a pup?" He smirked at the wave of power she sent his way before realizing it.

"Sessohmaru, you can't be serious. This has to be a joke." The last sentence sounded like she was pleading at this point.

Without giving that any sort of response she was stuck looking at his cold stair before her shoulders tensed and her eyes squeezed shut by the rambling coming their way.

"Lord Sesshomaru! I, your most humble and trusted servant am so honored to hear you called upon someone as lowly as me." the annoying Jaken came running full speed towards the cold lord. Right as he was about to raise his foot and punt the poor hero-stricken toad across the land a little bundle of silver pounced on him.

"What is this! Get this mangy mutt off me!" Bringing his staff of two heads up to smack the western price, Sesshomaru towered over the two, grabbing the pup by his scruff while peering down at the toad.

"You dear call This Sesshomaru's pup a mutt."

Even after all this time it still amazed Kagome how Sesshomaru could make the air stop moving when he wanted to scare someone.

"M-m-my l-lo-rd. Please forgive this lonely servant!" The toad wailed.

Hideyoshi went back to his human form when his dad dropped him.

"Dadddd, you aren't really sticking him with us, are you?" He tried puppy eyes that worked on his mom but the raised eyebrow his father gave him proved his trick didn't work on him.

"Do not whine. You sound like Jaken."

Akio and Kagome cracked up at the look Hideyoshi and Jaken shared while looking at the other and seeing the same offense written all over their faces.

"You are nothing like him, honey. Your father just has an odd sense of humor." She gave her mate a pointed look to leave their poor boy alone.

"Mom! You can't call me that in public" he whined.

"Hn. Nothing like the whinny toad." He turned to check on A-Un to make sure all preparations were ready for their trip. While he trusted Akio with their safety, he wasn't going to leave anything to chance.

Nodding that everything was in place the western lord walked back to his family.

He pulled Kagome to his body, giving her a heated kiss while their son made gagging noises in the background.

'This Sesshomaru loves you, Kagome.'

'I love you too. Don't worry, everything will be fine.' She answered him back through the bond.

He pulled back and nuzzled his nose into her neck to take in her sent before he was away from it for an unknown amount of time.

"Son."

Hideyoshi made his way over to where his parents were standing and waited to see what his dad wanted.

His eyes widened when his father pulled him in close for a hug before scenting the top of his head.

"Come, it is time."

The Western Family made their way over to A-Un who was happily munching on grass. Sesshomaru helped his mate and pup up on the dragon before walking towards the front of their body to speak to both heads before he let them take his pack.

"You will keep This One's mate and pup safe." A-Un nodded both heads before snorting out an understanding and promise to do everything in his power to protect the precious cargo.

The Western Lord watched as his troops and family left the safety of the castle walls and towards danger. This plan better work, if anything happened to them there would be no one safe.

While demons and the Gods aren't known to be one with each other, Sesshomaru took a moment and asked the Gods to watch over Kagome and Hideyoshi. Kagome was too pure for anything to touch; their son was just like her. While he may have the same demon traits he did, his heart matched his mother to the T. Pure of heart and soul.

He could feel the wind rush through his hair. Sesshomaru hoped it was a sign they'd look after his pack. Once he couldn't see them with his advance eye site all Hell froze over at the castle.

"Be ready for your turn to be interrogated by This Sesshomaru." He snapped before heading towards the throne room. He knew it was wrong, but he'd use this time to enjoy tormenting everyone that could be trying to harm what was his. Oh yes, any sign of treason he'd act on.

The smirk he wore was enough warning for all the western population to know one thing for certain. The Western Lord never left, he just kept it from his Lady.

There had already been three staff members beaten within an inch of their lives due to lusting after the Western Lady. Everyone was terrified for anyone who was found standing against the West. The staff shuddered as a bloody murder scream pierced their ears. This one was due to the female hating the Lady of the West and thought she'd be able to seduce the Western Lord while Kagome was away. Clearly it didn't work out.

Yukiko was keeping track of how many openings the West would need to fill before their Lady returned. Kagome wasn't going to be happy when she heard this news. Not so secretly, she was looking forward to Kagome being upset at him and see the pup they call a lord sulk. It always made her smile to see him brought down a peg after centuries of him "knowing everything"

It took Sesshomaru the whole day to get through all his staff. A few weren't at the castle, but he planned to meet with them tomorrow. Sesshomaru and Yukio were making their way towards his study to go over all the information they gained today when a little inu pup, no older than his own son, called out to him.

"Lord Sesshomaru! May I please speak to you? It might help with Lady Kagome." She yelled while his guards came to punish the foolish pup for daring to speak directly to their lord.

"You will let her go." Yukio told the guards before taking her little clawed hand into his own and following their lord to his study.

Sesshomaru wasn't comfortable with the idea of using what a young pup may say as evidence but if she had information for him he'd be sure to compensate her greatly. Finally sitting at his desk, Sesshomaru asked his first questions to the pup. He could smell her fear and it made him wonder what made her come forward when she could have been beaten for what she just did.

"Why did you risk seeking This One out?" His voice still cold, hiding his worries.

"W-well, Lady Kagome plays with me a lot. She doesn't care I'm so small compared to the others." Her eyes were now down casted, ashamed at what her lord might say to her, a runt.

"Go on." He wasn't surprised to hear his mate had touched another heart in the West.

"I was hiding from a few of the other pups when I noticed a man… he wasn't an inu… I'm not sure what he was but he wrote a message and then sent it out. He didn't use a messenger like the rest of us. He used a raven. When the raven left he looked around the area before he went back inside."

"What did he look like?" The old inu asked as Sesshomaru's eyes started to tint pink.

"He had black hair, handsome, and black eyes. He was wearing a guard uniform."

Sesshomaru stood and made his way to the door of his study.

"This Sesshomaru wants every military member at the training area immediately." He roared. Once he heard the steps of everyone rushing to make it happen Sesshomaru made his next demand.

"What is your name?"

"Ann"

'Ann…. That was the one Kagome asked about her family.'

Hn. It's only her mother, that half breed monster killed her father.

"You will come with This Sesshomaru and tell me if you see the male you saw writing the note."

"O-Okay."

"Mate, I have Ann with me. She may know something about what is happening around here."

"Little Ann? Sess please, please be nice to her."

"This One will Koi. I think she's really cares for you."

"She's a great girl. Please keep me posted. Nothing is going on here. We're getting ready to set up camp. Hideyoshi and Jaken have not stopped fighting ONCE. You own me Sesshomaru."

"This one knows many ways to make it up to you." He sent some heat through their bond and wanted to laugh when she instantly shut their bond off from her side.

When Sesshoamru, Yukio, and Ann made it to the grounds, every member of the Western Army was ready. Even the members in training were lined up, ready to do whatever their lord asked of them. Without saying a word, the three walked up and down each row. Stopping to look at each demon they passed. Once Ann saw everyone Sesshomaru looked to her, when she shook her head Sesshomaru dismissed the troops but asked Akio's second in command to stay behind.

"You will give This One a list of every member who isn't here. Also, make sure there isn't a uniform missing."

"Yes, Mi Lord." With a low bow, he took off to get everything ready for their lord. No one knew what was going on, but it was clear the ice lord was still there. Lady Kagome brought out the best in him, but he was still the lord they all knew.

"Ann, Yukio will walk you home. If This One needs anything I will go to you. You are not to leave without your mother. Also, my mate says hello." The last sentence caused the little inu pup to smile.

Sesshomaru made his way back towards his study. Along the way he told his Mother all they found out in hopes they'd figure something out before his mate and pup were gone too long.

Traveling South

"Why you annoying, over grown fluff ball! Come back here with my staff! How could the amazing Lord Sesshomaru bread such a monster? Even with your tainted mother's blood!"

Jaken was hit with a full-blown puppy take down. Hideyoshi was having fun hiding in the bushes or trees then pouncing on the toad. Kagome was laughing so hard, it made her think of the Lion King where Simba would practice on his father's loyal servant. She could never talk about it since they were lions and if Sesshomaru or Hideyoshi remembered she compared them to a cat and saw the movie she'd be in a long lecture about the difference between cats and dogs.

"Jaken! Do you wish for me to tell my mate you spoke about me in such away? Or our son for that matter?" Kagome gave the annoying toad her best cold glare while she waited for him to answer.

"N-no my Lady. (Jaken threw himself to the ground) Please forgive this humble servant!" He wailed while Hideyoshi set himself up for another attack.

"Hideyoshi, that's enough." She knew her son well. He was so much like his father but every time she'd say that to Sesshomaru he'd glare and walk off. 'Men' She thought to herself while Jaken kept babbling about how thankful he was she took mercy on him.

"We will make camp here." Akio called out.

It was only the first day, but everyone was tired. Not physically but mentally. While the Western Army was on high alert to make sure they kept their lady and prince safe, Kagome was tired of dealing with Jaken and Hideyoshi.

The rest of the trip South went about the same while they were in the West. The night they camped on the boarder of the West, Kagome and Hideyoshi grabbed Jaken and got on A-Un. Kagome placed a shield around them to not let others see them.

Akio lead his men South the next morning with the empty carriage in the middle to keep up the appearances. It was half a day in before they were attacked... Akio sent the messenger back to the castle to inform Sesshoamru of what happened before it was too late.

Back at the West

The door to the dining hall opened. "My Lord! Message from Akio-san" The messenger panted from his long journey.

Sesshomaru was by his side in an instance. "Go rest" he commanded as he read the message to his elders.

Under attack. Half a day out of the west.

"You know what this means, My Lord." Yukino said.

"Hn."

His fears were confirmed.
