Everyone is gathered in Rose's room, some sitting, some standing. Rose sits on her bed, not looking at any of her guests. The only person not present from the incident is Shura, who was put back in her own room to rest.
"So, I suppose you all deserve an explanation." Dameon says with a sigh. He's standing in front of the bed and next to Rose.
"It'd be nice to know." Yukio says.
"Lets start by saying everything we've told you before is true." Dameon looks at Rose, then at the questioning faces before him. "Her mother was from England, and when she gave birth to Rose she only had enough strength to say some goodbyes before passing away. Her mother left her to a monk who knew everything. He took Rose to Japan where he raised her for several years. She was kept hidden well underground, where she'd be safe from everyone, and everyone would be safe from her. He taught her what he could, and she learned to control herself and, for the most part, hide her power. She was also told her heritage and everything she may need to know. Then, when the monk was on the verge of death, he made a final trip back to England, where he thought Rose might have a good chance of surviving. It wasn't until a few years ago that I learned the truth about her. She kept it hidden for a long time."
"So... Is she..." Rin tries to form a question, but for some reason he can't quite find the words he wants.
"I'm the only known daughter of Satan." Rose says. She finally looks up at everyone. "I've been keeping it hidden because I didn't want the Order to suddenly be after my head, and I didn't want to completely isolate myself from what friends I have... As well, I didn't want good old pops to find out." She runs her fingers through her hair. "I don't want anything to do with him. I just wanted to help protect the peace here. This world is my home, and I don't want Gehenna invading and ruining it. That's why I became an exorcist."
"Why didn't you at least tell us?" Bon questions. "I mean, come on, we've got Rin here. We wouldn't suddenly hate you when we don't hate him."
"Because I knew you all finding out would mean everyone would find out." Rose shakes her head. "I'm waiting for them to call me in and ask me to die without a fight or something annoying like that."
"We won't let that happen!" Konekomaru says. "We'll be there for you as much as we are for Rin!"
"Thanks." Rose finally gets out of her bed and stands up. "But don't worry. It's not like they could actually kill me." She smirks slightly. "I... I'm sorry, keeping a big secret from all of you, but we also don't know each other that well. I've only been here for a short while, so I couldn't be confident that things would go well if I told any of you the truth."
"Well now we know." Rin smiles. "And we're happy to still have you here." Rose smiles back.
"I'm glad. Especially since I can now call you and Yukio my cute little brothers."
"That's right! That'd make you my sister!"
"You just realized that?" Yukio questions with a chuckle. A chorus of laughter fills the room.
"So, any other questions? I'm sure I'll be whisked away here soon, so get them out now."
"What was that power you used?" Rin asks.
"Air." Rose holds up her left hand, palm face up, and a mini tornado forms on it, spinning around furiously. "It's a pretty versatile and useful thing to control."
"That's cool!"
"What you did back there was amazing!" Rose blushes.
"Th-thank you." She says. The tornado disappears and her arm returns to her side. A knock comes at her door. "That's my cue." She starts walking to the door.
"Rose." She looks back at Dameon. He smiles. "See you later my cute little trouble maker." Rose smirks.
"You're the trouble maker." She opens the door and sees Mephisto standing there. She glares at him.
"My, I didn't expect all of you here. I'll have to borrow Rose for a little while." He says. Rose walks out and the door closes behind her. Mephisto puts a key in the door and the two are taken into headquarters. They start walking to meet with the Grigori.
"You set that up, didn't you?" Rose growls as she glares at Mephisto.
"Me? I haven't the slightest clue what you could mean by that." Mephisto responds.
"As if I don't know your tricks you..."
"Calm down." Mephisto smacks the top of her head with a cane. "You wouldn't want to go in looking angry and villainous, would you?"
"Go die." Rose mumbles as she rubs where Mephisto hit her.
"Now that isn't any way to talk to your older brother." Mephisto responds with a chuckle. "That is quite a secret though. Really, if you had paid attention you would have realized Rin could have taken care of those bees without you."
"What?" Rose frowns at Mephisto.
"He has more power and talent than you gave him credit for. You just needed to give him a little more time and he would have balanced out the problem with all those bees."
"Of course." Rose sighs angrily. "Whatever. This was bound to happen sooner or later." She reaches back and feels her ears.
"Well maybe this'll help out Rin as well."
"Maybe..." They walk through some doors and inside they find the Grigori, some spectators, and Angel.
"A second time we've seen you walk in with a newly discovered child of Satan. Things aren't looking good for you Mephisto." Angel says. Rose feels the cold tone in his voice take a shot at her heart. She shouldn't care what he thinks, and yet...
"But this time I haven't had a clue up until now." Mephisto retorts.
"Rose Wyeth, step forward." Rose walks up and onto a stand. "Rose, this is a major dilemma that you've given us."
"You have hidden something vital to the Order and to our decisions regarding Rin Okumura and even Mephisto Pheles. Is there anything you'd like to say?"
"I'm sorry that I never told anyone this information." Rose looks up at the figures who can ruin her life with but a few words. "However, I felt the risks outweighed the need to divulge this information. In truth, had I not been pushed by the Bee Soldiers and felt that the people around me were under too high of a threat I would continue to keep this a secret from everyone."
"You're saying you would, if given the choice, betray the Grigori? Betray Assiah?"
"I'm not a traitor." Rose says, keeping a calm composure. "I have only wanted to protect Assiah and keep it as peaceful as possible. Had I wanted to do anything else I wouldn't have waited this long to act."
"You say this, but we are inclined to believe just the opposite."
"Twice now we have been infiltrated by the children of Satan. Without our knowledge they were participating in classes, training, even missions. It does not bode well for us."
"Or perhaps it means you need to look again at your system. If even the children of Satan want to join your cause in increasing numbers then you shouldn't outright threaten us and make us feel unwelcome." Rose responds. Her thin layer of calm composure begins to fade. "What is this anyways? A trial? It looks nothing like one. If you're too accuse me of something then say it out loud and listen to my response."
"This is an assessment."
"And what exactly are you attempting to assess?" Rose glares up at the three people above her. She doesn't see anyone else anymore.
"Are you a danger? Are you trust worthy? As well we will be deciding how this affects our decisions with the other children of Satan."
"It should be in their favor."
"So far it is not." Rose starts to talk, but one of the others interrupts her.
"We spoke before calling you here, and all of us in this room aside from Mephisto and yourself have agreed that this is a problem. How does it look if we simply continue to turn a blind eye to lies and demons?"
"We are left with few options at this point, and we think it may be best to eliminate Rin Okumura. But we haven't decided what would be best to do with you."
"You're a bunch of fools." Rose growls. "Don't you get it? You're throwing away lives like they're nothing! And on top of that you're wasting the talent and power that's practically being thrown at you!"
"Calm down." Angel says. Rose looks at him in slightly surprised. She had forgotten he was there. She looks away from him.
"You people are making a huge mistake." Rose says, once again trying to remain calm. "I won't stand for it if you hurt Rin."
"What will you do?"
"You wouldn't dare attack us. You're no match for the Order." Rose bites her lip and clenches her fists. "We won't simply kill you though. However..." Suddenly the man stops talking. He grabs his throat, as does everyone up in the stands, looking down on Rose.
"Rose! Careful now!" Mephisto warns, though he's smiling.
"Shut up." Rose takes in a deep breath, then slowly lets it out. She then smirks up the Grigori knights. "Sorry, I didn't really catch that last bit. Mind repeating it?"
"Rose!" Angel shouts as he draws his sword. He starts to run towards her, but he's thrown back, pinned against the wall behind him with air. His sword is thrown away from him.
"You're right. If you send people like Mephisto and Angel after me I'd be screwed. I'm not going to simply lie down and do as I'm told though." Rose runs her fingers through her hair. "You all expect me to just let you kill an innocent person and not react? I suppose suffocating you isn't the best way to win you over though." She smirks again as she holds up a fist and releases it. "Don't bother talking though. You people can breath, but your words won't be able to reach anyone else." She looks back at Mephisto. "Are you going to be a problem?"
"I haven't been ordered to do a thing, so I'll just observe for now." Mephisto replies.
"Figures." Rose returns her attention to the Grigori knights.
"Rose!" Angel shouts. She doesn't look at him. Rather, she waves her hand in his direction, and his next shout towards her is unable to reach anyone's ears.
"However, if you all die now then it wouldn't matter too much, would it? You couldn't send orders to kill me if I just simply did that. I could throw away your lives like you want to throw away Rin's. That sound pleasant?" She waits a moment, watching as everyone above her struggles to speak. "I didn't think it would... I'm not heartless enough to do that anyways." She sighs. "I meant what I said. I don't want to hurt anyone. I was raised by a monk, and he taught me to control myself as best he could, and to care for the people around me. I'm human too. So, when I say I want to protect Assiah and it's peace I mean it. Rin as well. He was raised as a human, he only cares for humans. Satan killed one of the most important people to him. If I have to deal with a punishment, demon, or being kicked out, I could live with that. But hurting Rin, or killing either one of us. That I can't accept." With a wave of her hand the noise suddenly picks up as people find they can once again be heard. Angel is also released from the wall. "So tell me, what are the results of your assessment?" Rose asks as she smirks. No one responds for a few moments. "Well?"
"We will discuss what has happened, and consider what you have said." One of the knights says. "But what reason do we have to trust you or anything you say?"
"You have my history in your service. Isn't that good enough?" Rose sighs. "Until you've decided, please leave me be." She turns and walks out. Mephisto follows her.
"That was quite a show. Chances are they'll order someone to kill you."
"I know. Go away." Rose mumbles.
"What? Suddenly you aren't so talkative?"
"Go away!" Rose spins and glares at Mephisto. "I hate you the most! This is your fault to begin with! I could have gone a long time without anyone knowing, but you put me under that sort of stress! I couldn't just let anyone die!"
"I've done nothing, so calm down." Mephisto says.
"I know that isn't true." She growls. "You had a hand in what happened. You brought those bees through or at least gathered them up to attack me. I won't let this go." She continues walking.
"Quite a deal of pent up hostility." Mephisto comments as he continues to follow Rose.
"Of course. I've had to suppress so much to keep this secret under wraps all this time. It doesn't matter though, so leave me alone."
"Now now, that isn't any way to talk to your older brother." Mephisto glances behind him, then snaps his fingers. The two are suddenly in his otaku room. "There, we're away from those fools. You can relax an..." He's cut off when he's thrown into a wall with air, putting a dent in it.
"Leave me alone!" Rose shouts.
"How troublesome." Mephisto says. He snaps his fingers and Rose finds herself on the ground, tail out, in agony.
"What...?" Rose glares up at Mephisto who is standing a few feet away.
"There. Now perhaps you'll behave yourself." Rose groans as she stands up. "You seem to think I'm your enemy. I'm a friend Rose. After all, we're family. So please, try not to act so rashly. It's unbecoming." Rose looks at her tail.
"What did you do?" She asks.
"I just made sure you were punished properly. You probably were spoiled quite a bit as a kid, weren't you?" He sighs. "Well, I've already had to teach my brother a few lessons. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to give you the same treatment. Now..." He smiles at Rose. "I think you and I have something we should talk about..."
