Hey! I'm updating pretty quickly nowadays aye? B)
Okay.
To Divergent Fan (Guest): Great ideas thank you! But all the people with powers have the ability to mind speak if they try hard enough to learn it. It's in their nature. Just some of them have more control, like Lynn, she can make people do whatever she wants, push memories into their heads, make people see things that aren't real, project herself into their minds, etc, that sort of thing. That's how she did the message to Tris that time she fell asleep after doing the room! Anyway thank you for saying you love this story, because I love your feedback!
Chapter 11
Tris' POV
As we arrive at the farm house, we unpack quickly, us 5 girls having one room, and the 4 boys having another. We stock the food and drinks away, the clothes away, the dog things, bathroom supplies, and everything else.
"Lets go outside, into the back yard" Lynn says, motioning to everyone.
We all nod and follow her out, and I can tell by our faces that I'm not the only excited one.
"Okay, ready, guess my power" Lynn says as she looks at no one but seemingly at everyone. All of a sudden I'm in a meadow, and 5 little children are running around. There's something off though, because they don't look right. I shout out, trying to get their attention. But as they turn around I wish I hadn't shouted because they look terrible. Half of their faces are ripped off, blood stains the front of their clothes, weapons are held delicately in small little hands and they're smiling gruesomely.
"Don't you want to come and play?" a little girl speaks softly. I instantly shiver, and try to step backwards. I land in something gooey, and it sticks to the bottom of my shoes. As I twist to look, I see that it is an adult, a dead, decaying adult, their stomach contents spewing all over the dry dead meadow. Fear strikes my heart and I turn around, fast.
I scream as the little girl is right in front of me, raising her axe easily, as if it weighed nothing.
"I asked you a question, but you didn't answer" she speaks slowly, sweetly, but then, with a quick jerk of her tiny wrist, the axe is flying towards my head. As it goes to hit I feel like I'm waking up from a dream.
I breath a sigh of relief as I notice I'm back in the garden.
"So?" Lynn asks, smirking.
"I didn't need that as a demonstration, you could of shown me unicorns and rainbows, that would have worked well enough" Uriah shakes out, his hands feeling around his neck for any decapitation marks.
"Mind manipulation, mind control, nightmare bringer." Zeke says, "That creepy little girl is going to give me nightmares for a life time. Thanks a lot".
Lynn laughs and says sweetly, her voice almost an exact copy of the little girl, "Ready to guess again?".
I watch with fascination as she starts to blur, literally starts to blur. I can't see the distinct features in her face, but I know she's there. She's not moving, so she doesn't have super speed.
Then she's Shauna, an exact replica of her sister. I gape at her, then look from Shauna to Lynn, Lynn to Shauna.
Shauna stands, her hand to her mouth, muttering swear words as her sister blurs again and changes back into herself. The blur lasting only about 3 seconds.
"Shape shifting" I say, astonished. She grins and bounces on her feet.
"Oh dear god" Shauna mutters, her hand still to her mouth. Lynn grins,
"It's pretty cool aye? I can be anyone, or anything, for as long as I like. My last power is telekinesis. Moving things around with my mind, or a flick of my hand". Swiftly, Lynn starts lifting Uriah, he squirms and quickly disappears. He reappears 10 metres away, safely on the ground.
"That's one of my powers, the other is this" Uriah twirls his finger and instantly our small group is surrounded by deadly flames. He laughs but doesn't get rid of the fire, seeming to enjoy watching as worry.
As Marlene and Zeke start to gasp I twirl my own finger, and powerful dark grey clouds form in the sky above us. Then rain starts falling heavily, dousing the fire surrounding my friends and I.
Will looks around at everyone, wondering who did that. I smile shyly as his gaze lands on me.
My shy smile fades away as I realise everyone -besides me- is drenched. I laugh hysterically.
"Damn Tris, nice power, got any others?" Zeke shouts as he scrambles around searching for some logs.
"Uh, not that I know of"
"Shame, -Oi, Uri, light this" Zeke yells, pointing to a small wood pile on the ground.
As soon as Uriah lights it, we all huddle around the fire.
"I'll go get some hot chocolate, and food, maybe blankets? I'm the only dry one" I suggest.
"Yeah, just don't forget that we can see you all the way to the house, don't try to sneak up on us" Uriah states.
Once I made it to the house I worked quickly. I grabbed 7 blankets, made two flasks with hot chocolate and grabbed plastic cups. Then I grabbed marshmellows, blocks of chocolate and plain biscuits. Smores time.
I wrapped everything in the blankets then grabbed the dogs and let them outside. I watched them as they sprinted towards the fire.
As I crept out of the house I begged myself to be unseen, that I could blend into the dark night.
I continued to creep around, I got closer to the fire, then I went straight behind Uriah, everything still in my hand.
No one had noticed me.
"Uh, baby, there's this really large dark shadow behind you" Marlene said softly, I studied her face, it was covered in terror.
Uriah turned slowly, a small flame erupting in his palm. I felt the heat next to my face, but Uriah couldn't see me.
With all my manliness I growled deep down in my throat. Uriah screamed.
I broke into laughter and suddenly I was visible as I lost the thought of wanting to blend in.
"WHAT THE FUCK TRIS" Uriah yelled, able to see me now.
The rest of the group burst into laughter, and It took awhile for them to calm down.
"Tris.." Lynn said quietly, hesitantly.
"You're.. you, you can manipulate the darkness, shadows. No one in hundreds of years has been able to do that" she said slowly.
"Uh, is that bad?" I ask, frowning.
"No, just if anyone finds out, you will most likely be in certain danger" Lynn speaks then smiles at me. I laugh and sit down with the others. Lynn hands out the hot chocolate and blankets with her telekinesis.
Our friends look at me, worried for a second then they start talking and joking together, and for the first time in a while, I feel pretty happy.
As we settle into to bed that night, I find myself thinking of Four. I think of when I slapped him for kissing me. Wow, I'm stupid. Easily, I fall asleep and start dreaming. In my dream I'm holding a baby, a beautiful little boy with dark blue eyes and dirty blond hair. I hear a knock at the door and swivel around to see who it is. Grinning, I step towards the man.
"Hey honey" he says, "how's our little baby?". I smile, coming to the realisation that this gorgeous boy is mine, and the man is my husband.
"He's great, he missed you" I say softly, the baby smiles and drifts off to sleep. I take him to his crib and then walk back to my husband. I greet him with a quick kiss, that has soon turned into a make out session. My arms twist around his neck and my hands grab onto his brown hair. I look into his eyes, they're an exact replica of the baby's, dark blue, but his have a lighter bit of blue in one of them. I gasp when I recognise who this is,
"Tobias" I say, not knowing why I said that name instead of Four.
"I love you" he says and then he swims out of focus, and I feel myself begin to wake up. When I do, I bolt up and look around the room. The girls are still here and I sigh. I check the time, 6:30am it says. I growl and turn on my side, lying back down, my mind drifting back to the little baby boy.
"He was my baby, Four's baby" I whisper to myself. Then I laugh, this is completely ridiculous, it was a dream, I don't want a baby with Four, argh. He hates me anyway.
Four's POV
It's been two days since the girls and boys have left, and lets just say, Max is not happy. I had told Max that they had left on a moments notice, and that I had no idea where they were headed. It wasn't a complete lie, Uriah didn't specify, but I wouldn't be surprised if Tris went straight to Lynn. Max just didn't have a brain to guess where to start, he needed them to find Andrew.
I looked outside my bedroom window mutely. Storm clouds powered over head and I could smell the rain. I ran a hand through my hair. Not only was I frustrated that Max hadn't stopped interviewing me, I was annoyed at myself for leaving Tris and Caleb by themselves, because I did promise to protect them. I weighed up my options; go and find the others to help them, or stay with this group of liars. It wasn't hard to chose.
So I packed my things, and when Amar came to tell me it was time for the lights to go out, I pretended to sleep. An hour later I left the safe house and made my way to the highway on foot, in the rain. Even though it was late, I managed to hitch a ride south with some middle aged women who took pity on me. I hate pity. At around 2am, she dropped me off at a petrol station saying, 'this was as far as she could take me', I thanked her, then began to walk. After walking for about 4 hours, I hitched a ride with some tipsy teenage girl, her company was pleasant enough.
As I sat and watched out of the car window, I thought of where they could be. It was unlikely that they would be at anyone's house, too dangerous. A motel? Nah, they would want to practise their powers. I sighed. This was impossible.
Around 16 hours and a sore back later I was back home. The girl dropped me off near Uriah and Zeke's farm house by the looks of it. Uriah and Zeke's farm house! Duh! I smiled at no one and made my way to the house, realising now that another day had passed and they were probably already sleeping. I arrived at the house around 2230, and rang the doorbell.
Tris's POV
As Uriah finished his scary story, with his fire prop, the doorbell rang. I screamed, as did Shauna, Christina and Marlene. We all looked at each other with curious ideas and I stood up slowly, grabbing a baseball bat on my way to the door. As I sneaked towards the door, Zeke a few metres behind me, I had the sudden urge to laugh at my appearance. I was in Blue cheetah pyjama pants and a white tank top that had a pink bunny on it. Wow, was I threatening. I giggled and turned my attention to serious mode. I raised the bat with one hand and opened the door with the other, and my eyes almost bulged out of their eyes when I saw who was standing on the otherside of the threshold.
"Four?" I gasped, dropping the bat. Zeke choked.
Mmmmm loving this. Going to be some tension soon. And fighting, and running and power revealness. I hope you like this story and I would love to hear your opinion!
