AUTHOR'S NOTE: Thank you to FanFictionWriter123, Queen Mickey, Kasagai-chan, Silverbird22, relena soulheart and sailorsenshi13 for reviewing the last chapter!

For some reason I couldn't reply to Silverbird22's review of the last chapter so I'm just going to do that here.

I'm glad you're excited to see the BBS trio again! We get one of them back in this chapter so woohoo! AND ERMIGERSH YOU LIKE FFX? BEST FINAL FANTASY GAME EVER IN MY OPINION. I actually have an FFX fic as well which you could check out if you wanted? Totally not hinting here… :-P

As for your comment about Kairi, my logic (and this is probably wrong since Kingdom Hearts usually doesn't have the most sensible logic but whatever) is that Master Yen Sid and all the other old and wise guys like Eraqus will want to keep the Princesses of Heart safe at all cost so if they can substitute all of them for a different seven lights then they would. Don't worry though, Kairi will have her part to play in this story. I know that the seven people shown haven't actually been confirmed to be the seven lights but it works for this story so I'm going with it :-P

And I'm so happy that you ship Riku and Hana! IT ISN'T JUST ME! WOO HOO! :-P

Anyways, after all that, here's the new chapter! Hope you all enjoy!

This chapter is dedicated to AquaPrincessLovesFairyTail.

Chapter 11 - Water

~Hisano's POV~

Lea had come to the island early the next morning with three huge black coats with him like the one he wore; one for Riku, one for Kairi and one for myself. He left as soon as he'd dropped them off, saying Master Yen Sid needed him back at the tower.

"Never thought I'd be wearing one of these again in a hurry," Riku sighed as he zipped his coat up.

I glanced over at Hana and sighed, shaking my head. She was staring at the coat in my arms with what could only be described as a hungry look in her eye.

"These are not for cosplay purposes," I said sharply, smacking her round the back of the head.

She pouted, which never works on me. "Please Hisano? Can't you just sneak me it once you've got Aqua back? You know I've wanted to cosplay Xion for ages!"

"One, we agreed not to mention her," I hissed, and Hana bit her lip and mouthed 'sorry' at me. "And two, this coat is bloody massive. How am I meant to sneak it to you?"

She shrugged. "Shove it in a bag?"

"I'll shove you in a bag," I threatened before walking back over to where Kairi and Riku were waiting for me, already in their coats. I put mine on, zipped it up and pulled the hood over my head. I turned back to look at the others who were going to see us off. Riku opened up a corridor and stood back for us to go through.

Kairi went first, giving a small wave and nervous smile to Sora as she did. Then it was my turn. Hana, Machi, Chizu and Mariko all looked worried. I grinned at them to show them I was fine and headed through the corridor. Riku took slightly longer but he soon joined us and closed the corridor behind him.

We then looked around properly. We were standing on what seemed to be black sand underneath a black sky with a black sea next to us. The only light in the area was coming from the full moon.

"Well that's lucky," I remarked. "The last time Hana and I saw Aqua she was on this beach."

"This is where Sora and I were when we came here after fighting Xemnas," Riku explained. "When you use the corridors you have to picture the place you want to go to. If you're not thinking extremely clearly then you could end up anywhere. Since this was the only image I had of the Realm of Darkness, we ended up here."

"I don't like it here…" Kairi murmured, swaying slightly where she stood. "I feel…weird."

Riku and I both looked at Kairi at the same time. Her face was pale and she looked like she was about to pass out. True enough her legs seemed to give way from under her and Riku only just caught her before she fell to the ground.

"Kairi? What's wrong?" Riku asked worriedly.

When Kairi didn't answer I crouched down next to them, frowning. "This is just a guess, but the coat must not be doing enough to protect her from the darkness here. She's a Princess of Heart after all. She has absolutely no darkness within her whatsoever. Since this place has pretty much no light at all, the darkness here will be trying to snuff her out."

"We need to get her out of here," Riku said firmly, and I nodding in agreement.

"No!" Kairi protested, sitting up slowly. "We…we need to find Aqua!"

"But Kairi, this darkness could really hurt you!" Riku said.

Kairi shook her head as she stood up. "I'll be fine. I promise if I feel really bad I'll tell you and we can leave, but I'm good for a while longer."

Riku sighed but looked up at me. "She's stubborn. She won't let us force her to leave. If she gets worse I'll open a corridor for you to take her back and I'll carry on looking for Aqua."

I nodded in agreement and Riku and I both helped Kairi to her feet. For the next few minutes she could only walk with both of us supporting her but soon after that she was able to walk on her own again.

After a few more minutes of walking I stopped suddenly when I spotted a figure sitting down by the water. Riku and Kairi saw where I was staring and followed my gaze.

"Is that her?" Kairi asked quietly.

I nodded slowly. "I think so. It's hard to tell in the dark but…it looks like her."

I was almost 100% sure it was Aqua. The moonlight was shining down on her so I could see that her hair was blue, and I could also see then large button on her arm which she used to summon her armour. It had to be her.

The three of us all looked at each other and nodded. We had discussed what we would do when we found Aqua before we'd left the island, so I slowly walked up to her and coughed softly to get her attention. It apparently didn't work as she didn't turn around.

"Um…excuse me? Master Aqua?" I called out.

She was silent for a few moments before she turned her head slightly towards me.

"I heard you coughing," she said quietly before going back to staring at the horizon.

I looked back at Riku and Kairi with a frustrated look on my face. They both motioned for me to go back and try again. I grimaced at them but complied and turned back to Aqua.

"Is it okay if I sit down?" I asked.

Aqua shrugged. "Do what you like," she replied, her voice pretty much void of all emotion.

I forced myself not to sigh and sat down next to her. When I glanced over at her I frowned. She seemed different from the games. After a few moments I realised it was her eyes. They just looked…empty.

I realised that Aqua wouldn't be able to see my face so I reached up and pulled up hood down. As I did Aqua looked over at me, presumably to see if she recognised me. When she didn't she sighed ever so slightly before looking down at the tide-line.

"…How long have you been here for?" I asked her, even know I knew the answer was around ten years.

Aqua just shrugged again. "The sun never rises here," she murmured, only just loud enough for me to hear. "There's no way to calculate the flow of time. Once I tried counting the waves but I lost count. I could have been here for three days or for three hundred years. Either way I remember the last thing that happened to me in the Realm of Light as if it was yesterday."

"When you saved Terra?" I checked.

Aqua nodded, surprising me that she didn't question how I knew. "It meant that I lost the use of my armour but I don't care. If it meant Terra was safe then it was worth it."

"Aren't you curious about how I know about that?" I frowned.

Aqua smiled at me ever so slightly. "Well, you're just someone from my imagination, right? It makes sense that you would know everything that happened to me."

When she said that I shook my head. "You think I'm a hallucination," I sighed.

Aqua shrugged for a third time before looking away from me again.

"Why would you think that?" I asked.

"This is the Realm of Darkness," she said. "It wouldn't surprise me if the darkness is affecting me and making me see things that aren't really there."

"Has that happened to you before or something?"

She shook her head slowly. "I don't think so…" She looked back up at me and frowned. "Are…are you real?"

I nodded. "I am. And I can prove it. I can get you back to the Realm of Light."

A spark flickered in Aqua's eyes. "I…I can go back home?"

I nodded again. "Yes, you can. But there are two people who want to talk to you first."

"Hang on," she said before leaning closer to me. "You're…Hisano, right?"

I was taken aback. "How…do you know my name?"

She shook her head slowly. "I have absolutely no idea."

I couldn't hide my shock but I tried to ignore it. We couldn't stay here for much longer because of Kairi. "Anyway, come on."

I stood up and held my hand out to her. She glanced behind me and saw Riku and Kairi standing there, both of them still with their hoods up. She slowly took my hand and I pulled her to her feet. She was slightly taller than me, and annoyingly more developed. She stumbled slightly as we walked towards the other two, almost as if she hadn't stood up for years.

We both stopped in front of Riku and Kairi and, as we'd discussed earlier, Riku took his hood down first. Aqua narrowed her eyes at him.

"I…I know you, don't I?" she said quietly.

Riku nodded, smiling at her. "You met me when I was a child, around eleven years ago. My name's Riku."

Aqua gasped. "Riku…that little boy from the island! Sora's friend!"

Riku sighed slightly. "Why do people always know me as Sora's friend?"

"That's what happens when your best friend is the main protagonist," I shrugged. Riku rolled his eyes and shoved me slightly, cause both Kairi and Aqua to laugh.

"And…you are?" Aqua asked, turning to Kairi.

Kairi took her hood down and smiled. "You met me when I was a kid too, although I barely remember it. My name's Kairi."

Aqua covered her mouth with her hand. "Kairi…?"

"The spell you cast on her kept her safe," I said to Aqua. "Her home world was destroyed by the heartless but your spell led her to Sora."

Aqua smiled properly now. "Sora again…"

"Yeah, I know," I sighed. "That little bugger seems to be connected to everyone. He's like bloody Kevin Bacon." All three of them looked confused and I shook my head. "Never mind. Anyway, we should get out of here."

"But…how?" Aqua asked. "And why did you three come to get me anyway?"

"Long story short, we need you to help us find Terra and Ventus," Riku explained, "and then we need the three of you to help us fight Xehanort."

"Xehanort?" Aqua's eyes widened. "He's still alive?"

"Really really long story," Riku insisted. "We'll explain everything once we're out of her."

"Um…guys?"

Kairi's voice wobbled we turned round to see what she was looking at. We all reflexly stepped back as a giant heartless rose up out of the ground.

"Crap crap crap crap," I repeated quietly as Riku, Kairi and I all summoned our keyblades. I was somewhat surprised when Aqua stepped up next to us, her own keyblade in hand.

"Let me show you how a Master does it," she grinned before launching herself at the heartless.

She spun around so fast, casting complicated spells like it was nothing. Riku chuckled slightly.

"Well I feel like a complete beginner now," he admitted.

Kairi grinned and looked like she was going to reply before she groaned slightly and clutched her head. I managed to grab hold of her before she fell.

"Riku!" I called to get his attention.

He turned and saw Kairi and crouched down next to us, his face turning pale. "Kairi!"

"I'm…I'm okay…" she insisted, but she didn't look it.

"Go help Aqua," I told him. "You'll take that thing down fast if you work together. I'll stay with Kairi."

Riku nodded and, after shooting one more concerned look at Kairi he turned and leap at the heartless. He and Aqua were both amazing; it was hard to keep track of them both. They made quick work of the heartless and it came crashing to the ground before a sparkling pink heart came floating out of it and headed up to the sky. Aqua and Riku both watched it before turning their attention back to Kairi.

"Is she okay?" Aqua asked, concern filling her face.

"She shouldn't be here in the first place," Riku sighed. "She's a Princess of Heart. The Realm of Darkness is probably the worst place she could possibly be."

Aqua's eyes widened. "She's…wow. Okay, we need to get her out of here."

"Already on it!" Riku called as he opened up a corridor. Aqua and I held Kairi up between us and stumbled through the corridor, Riku right behind us.

All of us squinted as the bright light of the sun pierced our eyes. Once we adjusted to the change in light we realised that Sora, Hana and the others were running towards us. Sora, seeing that Kairi had to be held up by myself and Aqua, ran straight for us.

"What happened?" he cried, pulling Kairi away from us and into a hug. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine Sora," she reassured him. "Turns out that having no darkness in your heart and then going into the Realm of Darkness isn't a very clever idea. I'm okay now though, I promise."

Sora breathed a sigh of relief as he brushed some hair off of Kairi's face. I heard someone make a huffing sound and looked over to see Chizu's rather disappointed face. I rolled my eyes as I walked over to her and the others.

"What happened?" Hana asked as she elbowed Chizu to make her pay attention.

"The darkness started to affect Kairi," I explained, "but she is fine now. And we got Aqua."

Hana smiled as she approached Aqua. "Master Aqua, it's an honour," she said. "I'm-"

"Hana."

Hana's smile faded slightly as Aqua interrupted her. The blue-haired woman then turned to the other girls. "And you're Chizu, Machi and Mariko."

We all frowned at each other. I remembered how Aqua had known my name before I'd said it too. That was strange.

"How do you know our names?" Mariko asked. "You've never met us before."

"I swear if she's about to tell us that we're characters in a video game in this universe, I will scream," Machi muttered.

Aqua shook her head, having not heard Machi's comment. "I…I don't know. I don't know how I know your names."
