Chapter 11: Nightmare ā part 2 ā The Fear
"Master?" Sebastian called softly, holding his hand out to help Ciel up off the floor. Ciel just moved backwards, away from Sebastian, backing himself into the corner of the room. "Master what's wrong?" Sebastian pressed, he needed to know what was happening to Ciel. He loved Ciel so didn't want anything bad to happen to him.
Ciel curled up in the corner of the room, hugging his knees close to his chest, crying. That dream had honestly scared him shitless.
"Master?" Sebastian called out again. Growing even more concerned with each moment that Ciel was acting like this, it was strange to say the least, he had no idea how to help Ciel. All he wanted to do was envelope the boy into a big hug, to help him calm down. He took a hesitant step towards Ciel, not knowing what would scare him anymore than he already was.
"STAY AWAY!" Ciel screamed in response. He didn't want Sebastian near him. Sebastian though, didn't know this, he took another step towards Ciel, very, very concerned with the way that Ciel was acting. "I⦠I SAID STAY AWAY FROM ME!" Ciel practically screamed at the top of his voice. He hoped that the other servants would hear that. Ciel hoped that someone would come and take Sebastian away from his presence. He didn't want Sebastian around him. He thought Sebastian was going to kill him.
Sebastian sighed, slipping on his clothes, before grabbing Ciel's night shirt and going as close to Ciel as he could before the boy would just start screaming. He placed the clothes on the floor in front of him and pushed them towards Ciel. "Master you'll catch your death if you don't put it on."
Death? The word echoed in his head. So he was going to die if he didn't put the clothes on. Well in his scared mind anyway. Ciel quickly reached forward and grabbed the night clothes and quickly slipped the top on. "Would you like some help with that?" Sebastian asked, reaching out to help his young lord.
Ciel backed into the corner more, wanting to get away from Sebastian, he managed to get the top on himself. "Stay away!" Ciel shouted again. Sebastian sighed and stepped away from his master. He found it hard to do that. He had to obey Ciel's order as required in their contract, but Ciel was in danger, okay so Sebastian had deduced that at present Ciel was sort of a danger to himself, but still he was supposed to help him. How could Sebastian help and serve him if Ciel wouldn't let him near him.
A minute or two after that Finny and Bard came running into the room.
"What happened?" Bard asked, concern in his voice, he looked at Sebastian, who had a slightly pained expression on his face, yes, it hurt this demon to see his young master acting the way he was. Bard then looked at Ciel who was still huddled in the corner. He then looked back at Sebastian.
"I believe the young masters had a nightmare, and as a result he won't let me near him." Sebastian said, he honestly felt heartbroken, this was a new emotion for him, and Sebastian couldn't truly explain it.
"I see." Bard replied, his calculative side coming forth. "Finny, go see if the young master will allow you near him." Finny nodded and walked slowly over to Ciel.
"Master Ciel?" he called when he was about a foot away from him. Ciel timidly looked up at finny, his eye wide with fear. "Master Ciel?" Finny repeated, crouching down to Ciel's level. He inched closer to Ciel until he was right by him. The gardener hesitate for a brief moment, but when he looked into Ciel's eye seeing the fear there, he gently pulled Ciel into a hug. "What's wrong master?" he asked gently rubbing Ciel's back as the boy practically broke down into tears on him.
"He was going to kill me. He wants me to die, he wants to be rid of me." Ciel cried out.
Finny gasped slightly, "who Sebastian."
"Yeah." Ciel cried. "He wants me dead." Finny continued to try to sooth Ciel.
"He doesn't want you dead." He said to his master. "Why would he want you dead?"
Ciel went to say the reason but decided against it, they didn't need to know the truth that would just freak them out. "H-he said that he didn't need me anymore." Ciel sniffled out. "He told me to enjoy death." Ciel whimpered.
"Sebastian worries about you, we all do." Finny said, he honestly had no idea what to say, and most of it was probably nonsense.
"He doesn't!" Ciel cried. Finny just sighed and let Ciel cry, that might help right? Letting Ciel get it of his chest. At least that way the boy would be calmer to talk to. Ciel hugged onto Finny desperately, "Stay" he whimpered, not wanting to be left alone.
"I'll stay." Finny replied quietly, hugging his master still.
Sebastian saw that, worry and jealousy in his heart. He was worried about Ciel, about what could happen. But he was also jealous. Jealous as to the fact that finny was the one who Ciel was crying on, it should have been him. In the end he just left the room, thinking that was best. At least then Ciel would calm down more quickly without him there.
Bard followed Sebastian out of the room. "It's strange to see the young master like that." He said looking up at Sebastian.
"I've only ever seen him go through a phase like this once." Sebastian admitted.
"When was that?" Bard ask, pure curiosity.
"Before you were employed here, when I first started. The young master used to scream himself awake from nightmares each night. Though he usually calmed quickly when he knew that I was there and nothing was going to hurt him."
"I see." Bard replied, "I guess he'll go back to his usual self once the situation blows over."
Sebastian nodded, "it was just a nightmare" he sighed for a moment, "He'll come back to his senses soon. If not then I guess I'll have to try a different method of getting him back to reality."
"A different method huh." Bard asked, "Now I'm curious."
"But we'll let Finny try to bring him back to his senses after all they both are around the same age." Sebastian said before walking off to tend to some housework. Bard could really only nod, though his mind continued to try and piece the situation together.
Author's notes
Thanks for sticking with the story
Would like to point out that when Sebastian says "I guess I'll have to try a different method of getting him back to reality" I am not referencing the same method he uses in the Green Witch Arc.
