Today was the third task.
I was really scared. This was the final task- and most likely the most dangerous. And Harry's my little God-brother! I don't want anything to happen to him. I sat in the stands between Fred and Ginny, who was also scared, but excited.
Mr Diggory appeared, almost skipping towards the maze, his son following him. A bunch of people cheered. Fleur and Madame Maxine followed, and shortly after Krum and Karkaroff, and finally Dumbledore and Harry, who seemed extremely nervous.
Dumbledore raised his hands and everyone shut up, the music faltering. "Earlier today, Professor Moody placed the tri-wizard cup deep within the maze. Only he knows it's exact position. Now, as Mr Diggory-" as Dumbledore said the name a section of the crowd stood up and cheered loudly. "-and Mr Potter-" I stood up with the crowd and cheered. "-are tied for first position, they will be the first to enter the maze. Followed by Mr Krum-" all of Durmstrang stood up and cheered. "-and Miss Delacour." The Beauxbatons girls cheered. "The first person to touch the cup will be the winner!" Everyone cheered again.
"I've instructed the staff to patrol the perimeter. Should, at any point, a contestant wishes to withdraw from the task, he or she need only send up red sparks with their wands. Contestants! Gather around." Dumbledore walked towards the group of champions.
"See, Meg he'll be fine." Fred said.
I shrugged and smiled at him. "I hope."
He rolled his eyes. "Dumbledore won't let Harry get hurt, he's the chosen one."
I sighed. "Fine, I guess you're right." Fred grinned and took my hand.
"Champions, prepare yourselves!" Dumbledore instructed. I cheered as Harry and Cedric walked towards the maze. I caught Harry's gaze and I mouthed 'Good Luck'. He gave me a small smile and turned to the maze. "On the count of three! One-" The cannon went off.
"You had one job Filch!" Ginny laughed, seeing as Filch had lit the cannon too early. The music began playing again.
Dumbledore motioned for Harry and Cedric to enter the maze. I watched as they made their way into the labyrinth.
Soon after Krum and Fleur entered. I sat down and sighed. "Well, now what?"
The twins sat down. "We wait." George said.

There was a snapping sound and I looked to see Harry, Cedric, and the cup. I stood up and started to make my way down with Ron, Ginny, and Hermione, the twins following. Someone screamed and once I got down there I stopped walking and clapping.
I noticed something. Harry was sobbing and Cedric was... Cedric was dead.
The music stopped and Dumbledore ran up to them.
"Oh my God." I mumbled.
"Good Lord! What happened!?" Fudge asked.
"He's back! He's back! Voldemort's back!" Harry cried. "Cedric, he asked me to bring his body back. I couldn't leave him, not there."
A tear escaped and I leaned my head on Fred's shoulder and he wrapped his arms around me.
"Let me through! Let me through!" Mr Diggory ran through the crowd and dropped to his knees in front of Cedric. "That's my son!" He cried. "That's my boy! It's my boy..." He began sobbing hysterically. "Noooooo!"
I saw Moody taking Harry away. I looked back at Cedric. Mr Diggory's wailing made everything ten times more sad.
Dumbledore made everyone leave the area.
"Come on." George said, walking off with Katie. Fred kept an arm around my shoulder and we walked to the common room.
Everyone was silent. Some people were crying, their friends comforting them. Everyone else was completely silent.
"I'm going to go to bed." I whispered, slowly standing up and walking towards the girl's dorms. Fred followed me and grabbed my wrist. I stopped and looked up at him and he pulled me into a hug.
I watched the fire as Mr Diggory's cries rang through my head. I couldn't even imagine what it would be like to lose someone that important to you... What it would be like to lose your own child- let alone your only one.
"What did Harry mean when he said Voldemort was back?" I asked him quietly.
"I don't know." He replied.
I pulled back and gave him a small smile, before hurrying up the stairs to my dorm.

The next day there was a funeral held in the Great Hall. Hufflepuff banners lined the hall, and everyone was there.
"Today, we acknowledge a really terrible loss." Dumbledore stood. "Cedric Diggory was, as you all know, exceptionally hard-working, infinitely fair-minded, and most importantly... A fierce, fierce friend. Now, I think, therefore, you have the right to know exactly how he died."
Fred slowly took my hand and squeezed it. I bit my lip. I don't even want to imagine what it would be like if he had been in the tournament and it was him that had died. I looked at my feet.
"You see..." Dumbledore continued. "Cedric Diggory was murdered, by Lord Voldemort. The Ministry of Magic does not wish me to tell you this. But not to do so, I think, would be an insult to his memory. Now, the pain we all feel at this dreadful loss reminds me, and reminds us, that while we may come from different places and speak in different tongues, our hearts beat as one. In light of recent events, the bonds of friendship we've made this year will be more important than ever. Remember that, and Cedric Diggory will not have died in vain..."
Dumbledore began going on about how good of a person Cedric was, and after a moment of silence he dismissed us.

Everyone was saying goodbye to their friends from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. I was kind of just walking around, since I didn't really know any of them.
"Megan!"
I turned around to see Luke Fenders. I rolled my eyes. "What?" I snapped.
He looked upset. "Look, I was being a jerk earlier this year and I know it was stupid but... I just wanted to make Violet happy and-" He saw my expression and sighed. "I'm sorry, alright? I'm sorry. Forgive me."
"No." I said, crossing my arms. He sighed.
"Please-" I cut him off by slapping him. He nodded, after blinking several times and rubbing his sore cheek. "I probably deserved that."
"You did." I agreed.
"Here, I'm moving to America, and I want to keep in contact with you." He handed me his address.
I caught Fred glaring at him, he glanced at me and I winked, smirking. I took the small piece of paper and Luke looked relieved. Fred, however, looked angry and confused. I took out my wand and pointed it at the paper.
"Incendio."
It caught fire, and then I threw the ashes in his face. "Have a nice summer." I smirked at him before walking off laughing. Fred was grinning.
"You scared me for a second there." He said.
I laughed. "You actually think I would let him hurt me again?" He shrugged and nodded.
"What's so funny?" George asked, before looking at Luke trying to wipe the ash off his face and laughed. "You just pranked him didn't you?"
I sighed. "I wouldn't call it a prank but... It was still funny."
I watched the Beauxbatons carriage fly away and everyone started waving. I joined them.
This year has changed everything.

The train whistle blew as I stepped onto platform nine and three quarters.
I looked around and I didn't see Mr or Mrs Weasley anywhere.
"Looks like your parents are late, I'll say goodbye now." I turned to Fred. Before he could say anything I took his face and kissed him. I didn't care if people were watching. He kissed me back after a few seconds of shock and he wrapped his arms around my waist.
"Bloody hell, cut it out you two." George whined.
Fred pulled away and raised an eyebrow. "Can I not say goodbye to my girlfriend?" I giggled.
"Well you don't have to snog her!" George rolled his eyes.
We laughed. I hugged Fred. "I love you." He said.
I pulled back and smiled at him. "Love you too." I hugged George. "See you."
"Bye Meg." He said.
I took my suitcase and walked off. It was raining, so I started running.
Jackson waved from inside of my Uncle's van and I waved back. I put my suitcase in the trunk and realized there was no room in the car, because Heather's friend Phoebe was there.
Confused, I knocked on Uncle Robert's window. Irritated, he rolled down his window. "What?"
"Um, where do I sit?" I asked.
"In the trunk." He said.
I raised an eyebrow. "Is that legal?"
He laughed. "I don't care."
I frowned and went into the trunk, which was only the back of the van, really, it had more space than a normal trunk. I sighed. What a great start to the summer!
Final chapter of Make Me Stronger!
Yes, there will be another one. I don't know when it'll be up or what it's called yet, but it will be up.
