Who Makes the World

If God was not infallible, then he wasn't a God
of the world, but a mere king
who clung desperately to his throne
even when that throne
was under siege.

But he would not accept that: accept that he could lose –
he stood on top of the world, in full control

But a God would not lose control, and he did,
and a God could not lose.

He was just as much a player as the rest
in the delusion that he'd made
the world.
