The two weeks since the pubs grand opening Aidan and I hadn't gotten to spend a lot of time together he had been working extra shifts to get back on his bosses good side after being gone for so many months. Even though I had taken a step back from the pub my work as high priestess seems to have multiplied exponentially. So when I got the call about my cousin Kirin's niece summoning a demon I knew it was going to be another sucky night in a long line of sucky nights.

You would have thought by this age that I would know better than to run in three inch wedge heels in the dark on a rainy night but no I hadn't. So here I sit in the hospital at three am begging Josh who just happened to be on tonight not to tell Aidan that I had sprained my ankle. "I have to tell Aidan that you're here. I would be so pissed if Nora were here as a patient and he didn't tell me." I could see that I really could but Aidan was so easily freaked out when I hurt myself. He hovered over me. When I was in school I broke my finger you would have thought I was at deaths door. Josh left and I laid back and waited for the x-rays to get back and for the inevitable. The inevitable being Aidan coming in and finding me here getting my ankle wrapped. Goody I couldn't wait.

I didn't have to wait long for my x-rays I guess it helps knowing people who work in the hospital. Josh came in with an ankle brace. "You're ankle is just sprained. You just need to wear this brace for a few day and no heels for a couple of weeks. And I held Aidan off for as long as I could." Before Josh could put the brace on my foot Aidan walked and snatched it out of his hand. "Yeah I will just go and get De's discharge paperwork." "Tell me what happened." "I'll tell you when we get home." "Tell me now." He said as he carefully pulled the ankle brace on my foot. "Well honey I was chasing a little witch and a demon…." Aidan put his hand over my mouth to stop me. "Damn it De." "Well you asked and I told you I would tell you at home. Next time listen to me." Josh came back with my paperwork and a pair of crutches. "Yuck crutches." "I could carry you around." Aidan said. "Uhhhhhhhh!" I said and whacked him with one of my crutches. "Come on I'll take you home." "Don't you have a few hours yet?" "their letting me leave early because my clumsy girlfriend sprained her ankle. "Jackass." I said as he helped me down off the table.

When we got home Aidan helped me shower and change into something to sleep in. By now it was almost morning. After I took a handful of painkillers I passed out. Aidan woke me up a few hours later tracing a pattern on the freckles on my arm. "Aidan stop it that tickles." I groaned. He didn't stop he didn't seem to hear me. He seemed to be in his own little world at the moment. His hand slid down and started tracing the Celtic knot cuff I had tattooed on my forearm. *"Mo ghrá?" and still nothing. I started to roll away and Aidan grabbed me and wrapped his arms around me and growled. "Do you know how worried I was when Josh told me you were in the ER?" "Aidan it was a freak accident I slipped in a puddle. It was dark I was wearing the wrong shoes and it had been a long night. It wasn't like I was taking any risks I had three witches with me I wasn't alone. It was wet pavement that got me not a bad witch or a demon." "This time but what about next time, next time it could be werewolf a vampire an evil witch a demon..." He was shaking he was so upset. "*Mo ghrá stop stop. Aidan I'm not a child I'm not an untrained witch. Things happen and no you can't be with me all the time. You have to calm down. You can't freak out every time I leave the house. "Listen it's over and done with. We can't go back in time and change it. And besides one good thing came out of this I'm going to take the next two weeks off. Kirin is going to take over the supernatural watch for me." "Please please tell me you are not messing with me." "No I'm not I'm taking two weeks off Kirin told me he would take over the watch before we even got to the hospital I think he is trying to get me to give him the job full time." "Give it to him." He said rolling over on top of me. "I think I might I've been thinking about. I think I have way too much going on. I never get to spend time with you everyone seems to need me for something. I need time for me. So I think I'm just going to step back from that too. Maybe I wouldn't have fallen last night if I hadn't been so freaking tired." "That's true. I have been trying to get you to take a break since you moved in here." He said sitting up and taking my right foot in his hand so he could check the brace on it. He tried to be gentle but gods that hurt. I slapped my hand over my mouth trying not to scream. He looked up into my eyes and saw the tears streaming down my face. "OK time for more killers.

When I was taking my pain killers someone knocked on the basement door. "Auntie De auntie De!" "Babe you better let her in before she breaks our door down." Aidan went up and opened the door and Kylie zipped past him and threw herself into my arms knocking me back on the bed. "Mommy said you got hurt. You didn't did you?" "Yeah I did sweetie. I slipped in a puddle and sprained my ankle but I will be fine." "Did Molly really summon a demon?" "Yes she did. You are not going to do that are you?" "No way that's bad magic I would never do that." "I'm so proud of you *beag amháin." Oh I almost forgot mommy brought this for you." She handed me a potion vial. It was times like this that I loved that Leah was better at potions then I was. "Do we have any orange juice this heeling potion will taste nasty." "Yeah hang on." Aidan ran up and got me some orange juice. I was right the potion was gross. But my ankle felt ten times better and it wasn't just the painkillers talking. I didn't even need my crutches and Aidan didn't have to carry me upstairs where Leah was waiting on me. Leah had a mocha for me and chocolate donuts. Best cousin ever. "We just came over to make sure you were alright. Kylie was worried." Yeah it was just Kylie. When it came to Leah and I we were like close sisters we worried about each other. They left after Kylie ate three of my donuts totally reminding me of myself at her age. "I don't know if it's the pain killers or the potion or that that kid just wipes me out but I need a nap." Aidan helped me down stairs were I crashed for a good part of the day only getting up a few times to eat.

A few days later I only had a slight limp. I was bored out of my mind for the last few days. Aidan had taken off for the first few days I was under vampire imposed medical house arrest.

I was having this awesome dream. Aidan and I were on vacation. We had finally gotten time off real time off. Aidan was off third shift purgatory and I had people to run the coven the pub and the supernatural police force or whatever it was. (I was still working on the name of it.) I was awoken by the sound of something big hitting the floor and shouting. I ran upstairs to see Aidan on the floor blood pouring out of his eyes and Erin over him with a stake Josh just came into the room. "*Codladh!" I shouted and Erin fell to the floor beside Aidan. "Josh put her on the couch." There was a vial next to Aidan that he had dropped. "What the hell happened?" "I don't know let me get some blood into Aidan and then I will wake Erin up and we can find out." I sat down on the floor and put Aidan's head in my lap. Man this was going to hurt. He took my wrist and bit into it. This is so much more fun in the middle of sex and without an audience. "I'm going to pass out here." He let go of my wrist and caught me just as I feel forward. "Josh get her some juice!' Aidan yelled as I fell on him. "De baby look at me." "Someone is going to get an ass kicking when we get to the bottom of this." I said as I sat up and Aidan's arms and took the juice from Josh. It took me a few minutes but I was able to stand up with Aidan's help. "Ok what the hell happened what did you do to Erin?" "I made her go to sleep. She won't wake up until I wake her up." "She attacked me Josh. There was werewolf blood in my supply." Well that answers the big question for me. "I think we are all thinking the same thing." Both of them looked at me and nodded "Give me her cell. I can crack a pass code with a simple spell." Josh found her cell in her back pocket and handed it to me. I cracked her pass code in less than a second she was not very creative. There were over one hundred texts between her and Liam. That fucker had brainwashed Erin into spying on us and then attacking Aidan. Both of them were reading over my shoulder. They were both pissed. But not nearly as pissed as I was. So many things to be pissed about, he had used a kid to spy on us he had nearly killed the man I love. Gods knew what else this sick fucker had done. He was so done in Boston. Before any of us could do anything Nora came in. "What the hell is going on here?" She said as she took in the scene. Erin was passed out on the couch Aidan and I both covered in blood. Yeah it looked like a slasher flick in here. We showed her Erin's phone. "OK we need to talk to her. I'm going to wake her up." I knelt by the couch and placed my hand on her head for a second to connect with her. "Erin when you wake up you will tell us everything we need to know. You will tell only the truth." I stood and backed away from her. She sat up and she looked scared. I glanced at Aidan to make sure he hadn't vamped out since she was looking at him so hard. "Please don't kill me." "We won't but you need to tell us what just happened." I said I was trying to stay calm but everyone else was shoving so much negative emotion into the room it was making it very hard for me. Erin told us that the day she left here Liam had been about a block from the house he took her to his place and convinced her that Aidan had killed his kids and that he needed to die. He told her all vampires had to die that they were a scourge on the earth. Werewolves were the ones that needed to be in charge. "Oh my god he is like a werewolf Bishop." Aidan said. "Erin look at me. I need you to go up to your room. You won't be able to leave until one of us comes and gets you. I spelled the door. Do you understand" She nodded and got up and went upstairs and we heard her door shut.

I sat on the couch and put my bad foot up. "What are we going to do?" Josh said. "Well I think he needs to die. But the coven will make him leave Boston. Sadly witches don't really do death as a punishment. That's more a vampire thing but the witches are in charge now. And yes I know that technically means I'm in charge but I promised I would not rule like a dictator and also there is the threefold law so I just can't outright kill anyone really or it would come back to me threefold"

I ended up spelling Erin to get Liam's brain washing out of her head. She would stay but if she ever did anything against any of us again she was gone I would send her to a pack of wolves that I was friends with in Ohio. That way we would know she was safe but she would also be were Liam could never get near her again. I had to ward the house again it was a strong warding and I was freaking exhausted when I was done. Sadly I couldn't sleep yet. I had to talk to the coven elders and I had to talk to Aidan. Oh that last part was going to be fun really really fun. Fuck my life right now.

After a really long conference call with the other elders in the coven it was decided we needed a face to face meeting with Liam and the supernatural groups that I had been meeting with in the last few weeks since meeting Blake. I was so going to that armed to the teeth not taking any chances.

Aidan had been watching and listening the entire time I was on the phone. And he was back to being broody vampire again seriously fuck my life right now. I stood up and grabbed his hand and pulled him toward our room. I just sat on our bed and waited for whatever he was going to say he needed to vent and really who else was going to listen to him about this since Josh and Nora were so involved in the wolves and Erin. I wasn't even sure what his problem was other then the fact that someone that was trusted enough to let live in the house had just tried to kill him. Maybe it was that we all didn't get silver weapons and go after Liam right now. I sat waiting on something anything from him and he just sat on the corner of the bed rubbing my right ankle. "Why does it feel like you are always saving me lately?" "I don't know. Maybe because it's my turn to be the one saving the other person in the relationship right now maybe in a few weeks you will need to save be from something stupid. Oh I know maybe we can go for a while where no one has to save anyone from anything." "Keep dreaming we just don't get that lucky." He said as he crawled up to lay next to me. I ended the shitty day falling asleep in Aidan's arms hopefully we would have a better day tomorrow.
