so here i am writing again. YAY! i have a good feeling about this chapter and the rest of the story. Now on to the story!
SPOV
FLASHBACK
I wake up suddenly to bella's screams"SAMMM! SAM GET DOWN HERE NOW!". I jump out of bed as fast as I can and run down the stairs only to find Bella standing in the kitchen shaking with fear and pointing at the open door. I run outside and am hit with the sickly sweet smell of a vampire and see that there is blood all over Bella's truck. I can tell by the smell that it's not one of the Cullens. i run back in side and tell bella to get upstairs to our room and to lock the door until i get back. A soon as I am outside again i immediately phase and howl for the pack. I already know that Jake is on patrol and i hear him ask "Whats going on Sam?". "Vampire. its not one of the Cullens either and there is blood on Bella's truck." i say. I can feel the others phase in and immediately ask whats going on. "There's been a vampire on the rez and there is blood covering Bella's truck. i need you guys to to pick up the scent and follow it to where ever its going. It's not very old so we might be able to catch who ever did this." I say as I turn to look back at the house. "Jake i want you to head over to the Cullens house to see if it's been there too. Seth and Quil, I want you to stay here and keep Bella safe till we get back and make sure she stays where i told her to."
I start to scent the trail north of the rez heading towards the border. Jared, Paul, Leah and I follow the trail till suddenly it stops and vanishes."who ever it was must have gone up in the trees if the scent just stops here but Sam this scent is what smelled at the Cullens the last time i was there." i hear Paul say through the pack mind. "DAMMIT!" I scream. "Sam, there is no sign that the vamp has been at the Cullen's." i hear Jake say. " Alright guys i want to increase patrols and i want two wolves on every shift. Jake go home and get some rest, i want you back for the afternoon shift with Leah. Jared, i want you and Paul to take over and make sure that you change you direction every half hour so that if the vamp comes back he/sh won't know whose coming. i have a feeling that who ever this is has been watching us trying to figure out our routine. Leah and Jake will take over at 2pm. Seth and Quil, I want you on Embry watch. I got a call from his mother telling me that his temp is starting to rise and it looks like he will be joining us in a few days. Im heading back to Bella." i give out the orders and start back to the house.
I phase back and throw on some short and run up the stair to the bedroom door and knock. i hear Bella slowly coming tot he door and i say "Bella, Baby open the door it's me". i hear her unlock the door and open it. She throws herself in my arms and I quietly whisper in her ear" It's ok baby, i got you. I'm not going to let anything bad happen to you or our babies".
END OF FLASHBACK
That was two days ago and Bella is still on edge every time someone comes through the door. Tonight though we've invited Charlie over to tell him about the twins. Bella has been in the kitchen all morning preparing dinner for tonight, Charlie's favorite of course. Before Charlie arrives i go and check in with Paul and Embry who finally phased to see how patrol is going. "Nothing new to report boss" Embry says. "Stop calling me boss" I grumble back at him. "Vamp hasn't made an appearance yet Sam. We will howl if it does. now go back and make Charlie a happy grandpa and I'll take care of the kid here." Paul says.
I just finish getting dressed when i hear the cruiser pull in the drive way so i head downstairs to greet the chief at the door. "Hey Charlie, hows it going?" Charlie stops in the door and takes off his coat before turning to me to answer. "Not to bad,Sam. Had a run in with some vandals trying to spray paint Newtons store but other than that its been pretty decent." Charlie goes over to greet Bella by giving her a hug and patting her stomach. "how my grandbaby treating you today, Bells?" Bella smacks his hand away " Was sleeping till you decided to wake him/her up. Now I have to go pee for the 300th time today" She grumbles walking away to use the restroom. "Beer, Charlie?" I ask as I grab one for me. "Sure i could use one." he says sitting down at the table.
Bella comes back in 5 minutes later and starts putting dinner on the table. "So did you find out what the baby is going to be yet? i know you had a sonogram coming up but didn't know if he/she showed what they were." He says while filling up his plate. "Well the babies did show us what they were. so now we can start getting the nursery ready." Bella says nonchalantly as she hands me my plate and starts to fill hers up. "That's good as long as they are healthy th...Wait did you just say BABIES...as in two or more?" Charlie says as he stares at Bella. "Yep. We're having twins." She says getting up to go get the pictures. "We were just as shocked at you are but both babies are perfectly healthy and growing." i tell him as Bella shows him the pictures. "Baby A is a Boy and Baby B is going to be a Girl. Big brother here was hiding his little sister on the ultrasound when we first found out." Charlie looks at both the pictures while getting a little teary. "Wow..." he whispers. Bella hugs Charlie and tells him that he can keep this set of pictures of his grandbabies to put on his desk at work.
After dinner is finished and Charlie leaves, Bella and I are getting ready for bed when i hear a howl in the distance and know that its the kinda howl that means there is a vampire on the rez. I kiss bella and tell her to lock the door behind me and that there will be two wolves out front incase it tries to come near the house. I quickly phase and am running through the wood when i see a flash of red hair run past me. "Leah ,Quil its coming right towards you. Defence mode now!' I order. I hear it say in its sickly sweet voice " She's mine, you can't protect her forever, she deserves to die." Cackling as she hops from tree to tree. "Who is this bitch after. " I hear Embry say through the pack mind. "I don't know but whoever it is, she isn't going to get them." i say back to him. "Leah, Quil do you see her yet?". "No not yet, Sam." leah says.
"She's heading for the cliff Sam" i hear Jake yell. " Get her before she goes over so we can end this" i yell back as i start running toward the cliff. " Paul hit her from the east, Jared start coming from the west, Jake, Seth and I will follow her. Embry try and get to the cliff before she does maybe you can catch her." They all start heading in the direction i tell them to but it isn't quick enough as she is already too far a head of us. i can see her through Embry's eyes before she jumps off the cliff and into the water. "Son of a bitch! We almost had her" i hear Paul yell.
As we all phase back i tell them to get some sleep and that there is a pack meeting in the morning. I head back inside and up the stairs when Bella comes running out of the room. " I'm fine but the vamp got away. bitch jumped right off the cliff before we cloud catch her." I tell her as she checks me over. " I was so worried. you were gone for so long i thought that something happened to you." she says as she hugs me."she got in the trees and thats when we lost her before she jumped off the cliff. when she was jumping in the trees she kept saying that, she's mine, you can't protect here forever, she deserves to die. I just wish we knew who she was after so that we can kill this vamp." i say as i pull bella towards me. "Sam, did this vampire have fiery red hair?" she whispers. I sit up and look at her "Yeah she did, how did you know that?' i ask. "well i know who she's after then." she says as she sit up. "who?" i ask "she's after me."
