They arrive on the planet's rocky surface before setting out to investigate the planet's marker presence Isaac's RIG intercepts a signal that was coming from the far side of a cliff range near them.
"What is it?"
"I'm picking up something, a transmission."
"Here but how can that be this planet is deadly?"
"I don't know I guess we'll find out, I can't get a good lock nor make out what they are saying on its origin but its path is coming from the east, there those cliffs."
"Alright you four go and see where it's coming from."
The group moved out towards the transmission source, as they get closer they start to her weapons fire, they make haste. They come to point overseeing a cliff side across they see a small colony under siege, they see necromorphs climbing the cliff side to the colony while the people there try to shoot them off the cliff and in the skies giant flying necromorphs were laying waste to the settlement from above, Isaac and his group continued on to assist them, Isaac then intercepts another transmission.
"Ah, god damn it keep those bastards off cliff knock them off if you have to!"
[Isaac stands shocked]
"Ellie, oh god she's alive, Ellie, Ellie it's Isaac do you read."
"She's out of range we have to get closer."
"Alright people let's move."
Desperate to get to Ellie Isaac runs ahead of the group.
"Ellie do you read me, Ellie damn it?"
They finally reach the colony, some of the necromorphs turn away from the colonist and on to the strike team Isaac looks and finds Ellie with a few people being chased by slashers and stalkers. Isaac runs to them right before he reaches them an exploder climbs up the cliff besides them and detonates itself causing a whole portion of the edge of the cliff to crumble and fall apart.
"Ellie!"
The ground breaks under Ellie and she falls, Isaac at the last minute grabs and catches Ellie, both hang off the cliff Carver comes running.
"I got you!"
"Is-… Isaac!?"
"I'm here Ellie, I'm here."
"You're alive… I thought… I thought you were dead!"
"So did I, come on climb!" [Pulls her up]
"I can't believe you're alive."
"I know."
A flying necromorph shoots up from behind the mountains and charges towards them.
"Oh shit, run!"
"There Isaac, the old bunker we found we can use it."
"Run to it!"
They get to the bunker and quickly shut and locked the hatch, the necromorph bashes into the hatch knocking both Carver and Isaac back.
"God, anyone injured, Isaac?"
"Nothing major."
"Fine here, what is this place?" [Isaac sees an old Sovereign Colonies emblem on the floor]
"These guys again, it looks similar to the bunkers we've explored."
"Yeah it does."
"We just found this this morning we only explored the first two levels we don't know how far down it goes, we didn't check lower because we heard noises down there."
"Well it looks like the only way out is in there has to be another way out."
"It's a bad idea but we don't have a choice let's go."
They carefully traversed though the lower levels but found nothing to hinder their progress they eventually make it to another hatch that lead them outside near the landing zone for their shuttle.
"Ah finally were out!"
"There the shuttle."
"Looks like there's a path back to the ship we have to go through a cave system to get to it though."
"Alright let's move."
They make it half way through the tunnel and they encounter necromorphs, they pursue them through the caves. They later come to large chamber where they detonate explosives to bring the cave ceiling down on the necromorphs they kill them all and continue on. They finally make it out, suddenly Isaac and Carver collapse to the floor holding their heads in pain. They are warped to a rocky and flame engulfed world, they both see the Elder Moon hovering above them.
"I have you now Isaac and now you both will die here and rid you of me."
"You tried killing us both a few times already and you continue to fail doing so, fucking parasite."
"Keep smart mouthing while you can Isaac I will destroy your pathetic race and every other race I've yet to claim, I will find where you and your kind are and I will take my time killing every last human slowly and in the most painful way possible; in the meantime this should take care of you, this old friend yours has been itching to see you again have fun. [Laughs Sinisterly]
The moon lifts into the blackened sky and vanish his laughs echo through the realm, right then Isaac hears the roars of something familiar.
"What the fuck is that?!"
"I know what it is and I really hope it's not what I think it is."
Suddenly a large necromorph shoots up and roars at them.
"Damn it didn't I kill before?!"
"Friend of yours?!"
"I fought and killed this thing on Aegis VII they called it the Hive Mind."
Another large necromorph rises behind them.
"Uh Isaac, he's not alone."
Isaac turns to see the same monster they fought and killed on Tau Volantis, the Nexus.
"Are you fucking kidding me?!"
They split up, Isaac fights the Hive Mind and Carver the Nexus, they soon realize they can't be hurt then two markers appear and start rotating around the small isle around them. Destroying one rendered one of them vulnerable.
"Carver when the markers appear shoot them!"
"Got it!"
After destroying the first the Nexus dies and vanished leaving only the Hive Mind.
"One down one to go."
"Ha, let's finish this!"
They finally destroy the final marker and kill the Hive Mind and The Elder Moon appears again.
"Nooooo, damn you Isaac damn you both!"
Their hallucination ends and both return to reality to find themselves on the shuttle.
"Carver Isaac hay, are you guys alright!?"
"Yeah we're fine." [Isaac rubs the back of his head]
"Good we are half way back home you guys just rest."
"Thanks."
"Hay, are you ok you scared me for a moment."
"I'm fine Ellie."
"Good, can we go to the next room I need to talk to you?"
Both go to the bow of the shuttle.
"Listen I know you're angry at me."
"You bet your ass I'm angry at you well I'm happy too but mostly I'm angry."
"I know."
"How could you do that Isaac, I mean do you know what went through my head when you told me to leave you behind!?"
"I know, I know I'm so sorry I hurt me a lot to do that, it's just I thought I lost you when you were trapped in that lab and when I heard you were still alive… I didn't want to lose you again."
"No Isaac I'm sorry I don't mean to be a bitch I just happy you're ok." [Hugs him]
"Don't say that." [Whips the tears from her face]
"It's not just that I thought you we're dead but the fact that didn't try to find you or Carver."
"What do you mean?"
"After you killed one of the moons I waited around for a bit in orbit hoping maybe you, Carver or both of you survived, I kept trying to contact you both but I gave up and assumed you were killed or worse."
"It's ok."
"No it's not, I could have stayed longer in orbit and waited in case you were alive and if you were trying to call for help I would have been there to help or I could have went back planet side and tried to look for you both on the surface but I didn't, I didn't!" [As she sobs]
"Ellie look at me, it wasn't your fault it was mine but it was mistake I had to make to protect you because I love you, trust me I wish I saw another way to do it but I didn't… remember what I said when you came back for me at Titan?"
"You said "I'm full of bad ideas remember."
"Yes and knowing I'm always full of bad ideas regardless of the situation is way I did it."
"I love you Isaac so much." [Both kiss]
Carver walks in to see the two in their moment.
"Uh hay sorry to interrupt but we're about to come out of shockspace."
"It's fine we were just uh… just catching up."
All three get back to their seats.
"Exiting Shockspace in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1."
The shuttle enters the cave networks leading to the station.
"Is this Sanctuary, I've heard of such a place but didn't think it was real."
"Yes, what's left of humanity has come here at the moment this is home."
They dock at the main hanger; Adrian watches them on the monitor.
"Damn it there both still alive."
The small marker on his desk glows, immediately he knew what the Elder Moon was contacting him.
"I take it Isaac slithered his way out of your trap?"
"He was fortunate but I will get him and his friends one way or another."
"Looks like they didn't find anything there."
"Yes that is most convenient; hopefully they won't ever find it."
"What now master?"
"Stand by and keep watch of Isaac for now I have a loose ends to tie up, I will contact you when I have a plan."
The marker falls silent, Adrian lends back in his chair clutching the marker looking at the monitor.
