Yo!...And thats all I have to say really...
Chapter 10: I had forgotten that I had these on...
Huh, so thats what happened in the palace. Magus thought as Judal revealed how Alibaba was humiliated and thrown out. Alibaba looked like he was going to cry, He needs to build up his confidence and resistance to taunts. Magus thought in disapproval on how the prince was taking this. How the hell did his sweet, strong, and gentle little sister fall for him?
"HE'S NOT USELESS!" Aladdin shouted, causing Magus to jolt a little since it was pretty rare for his chibi to yell. Rumal and Runic were right next to him, so their sensitive ears seemed to be ringing.
The teen just stared at him in confusion. "...Huh?"
"A-Alibaba is not useless!"
Really? Because he can't even do a Djin equip. Magus thought.
"Because I know it!" Aladdin tightened his fists as he glared at Judal. "He knew right from the beginning that he might not be recognized. But, for the sake of others, he put aside his fears to do something no one has dared to do! He is a brave person!" Aladdin stared straight into the teens eyes, determination shinning in them. "There's no way he is a useless person!"
"A-Aladdin..." Alibaba said, touched by what he heard.
Magus sighed, it seemed he was the only one who remembered that is was Sinbad who practically had to shove Alibaba to go to the palace in the first place. Oh well, he thought as watched Judal scoff. No need to correct Aladdin in his moment.
"Hmph, chibi, is this guy really a candidate for a king that's worth such high hope?" Judal questioned, amused at Alibaba's glare aimed at him. He chuckled as he dug into his sash and started to pull out a wand. "I don't see it-" then he moved too quickly for everyone- sans Masrur and Magus- to see, stabbing his wand into Alibaba's gut's.
Morgiana quickly went to Alibaba's side, checking up on him in absolute worry at the blood seeping through his shirt. Magus gestured for the twins to stay near their sister, since he was near enough to protect Aladdin, while Sinbad looked appalled and nervous.
"LOOK! HE'S WAY TOO WEAK!"
"JUDAL!" Sinbad yelled, not knowing what to do since he didn't have any of his Djins.
Judal just laughed, "Sinbad! Why did you mingle with these boring people!? Did you become even stupider!?" he questioned.
Magus seemed to be the only one who noticed that Aladdin was gathering ruhk around his staff as this went on, which is weird since it was a glowing orb. Once everyone did noticed, they seemed to be in awe, as if they couldn't believe that Aladdin could do this. Aladdin Is a magi, what the hell did they expect? He thought with an eye roll.
Judal just looked a bit excited. "Heh~? So, you're going to do it?" the two faced off, and Magus was reluctant to have Aladdin fight anyone, but he saw how his little brother will not listen to him at the moment. He resolved to instead step in when Aladdin couldn't handle it. "You look eager to fight, don't ya!?"
"...I don't want to fight with you," Aladdin responded calmly. "But if you intend to hurt us again, then I will stop you." he then held his staff, with both hands like a sword, in front of him.
"STOP IT! THE BOTH OF YOU!" Sinbad ordered, he really didn't want this to get out of hand. Two magi's fighting each other could kill everyone in the room.
The black haired teen didn't look amused by Sinbad anymore, he turned his head towards the king and glared. "Shut up Sinbad. This is a 'fight between magi'. Normal people have no right to interfere." he then pointed his wand at the man, causing him to flinch slightly, "I've seen it a while back, and honestly I thought my eyes were deceiving me...but..." he sneered here. "You don't even have a metal vessel on you right now!" this just made Sinbad sweat, now that Judal knew he didn't even have a way to fight he sent Masrur his way.
Sadly, when Masrur tried to hit him, a borg stopped him from being able to harm Judal. Masrur clicked his tongue and fell back, landing next to his king and Jafar. "...As I thought, we can't use our household vessels now." He really should have remembered about that stupid magical shield when their own magician back at their home explained it to him. Masrur's eyes slid over towards Magus, who was watching the teen, and got an idea. "Magus!"
Magus looked over towards him, blinking, "Hm? Yes, Masrur?"
"Can you get through that Borg?" he questioned, making Sinbad confused before he remembered that the finalist had a metal vessel.
"...I don't know." he responded with a shrug of the shoulders. "I have never fought against something like this so far." And before Sinbad could voice his opinion on the idea, Judal decided to start.
"Alright then, chibi!" Judal exclaimed, happy that Magus wasn't going to interfere. Although he would like to fight against him at some point. "Let's start off by a competition of firing magoi!" he said, gathering ruhk around his wand until the magic was as big as Aladdin's.
"MORGIANA! TAKE YOUR BROTHERS AND GET TO COVER!" Magus roared over his shoulder. But his siblings hesitated in leaving him there, causing Magus to grit his teeth, "NOW!" he barked. Morgiana bit her bottom lip, then nodded her head as she ushered Rumal and Runic away hurriedly, along with helping Alibaba. Some of the humans decided to also heed Magus' warning, trusting that the finalist said it for a reason, while others stayed to see what happens.
"ALL RIGHT, LET'S GO!" Judal yelled gleefully. He then started to shoot his magoi anywhere, destroying and making holes everywhere, some of it hit humans.
"UWWWWAAAAH!"
"WHAT ARE THESE?!"
"RUN!"
Judal just laughed, a giant smile on his face. "Hahaha~! Become full of holes~!"
Some of the magic beams were coming towards Magus, he pursed his lips in annoyance and just dodged it by stepping away from where it would land. He saw Aladdin bring up his staff and the beams seemed to have been nullified from his own magical bubble, then fling his magoi towards Judal.
Said teen looked surprised and readied himself to defend...
But...
Both Judal and Magus noticed something weird about what Aladdin threw. In fact when it got to Judal, it just slid over the borg.
"..." Judal furrowed his brows, looking down at himself, "...What..." he blinked. Eyes briefly flickering up at a confused Magus, before he seemed to understand what just happened. "I've got it. Hey, chibi!" he called, gaining Aladdin's attention. "Let's stop this, competing with firing magoi is completely meaningless." he sighed. "Since we're 'magi' with the protection of rukh, the magoi will only be nullified." he saw understanding come to Magus' eyes, but Aladdin still seemed to be a bit confused. "Since that's so..." he pointed his wand at Aladdin. "Let's have a 'Magi' battle!" he suggested instead.
"Magic!?"
"What's he saying?"
"W-Wasn't that just magic they were already using?!"
Judal looked annoyed at what he was hearing. "Ah~ you bunch don't understand at all! This is why I hate talking to amateurs!" He then looked towards Magus with a smile, "Right, Magus~?"
"Hn..." why the hell is he looking at me for approval? He thought as the teen chuckled.
"Hehe~...That's right, let me show you amateurs!" he then lifted his wand, "Magoi is created from rukh, it's true power!" his wand glowed again, "The power of just concentrating magoi and firing is not that strong. The most it could do was just break a few things like previously...However, what if I gave an order to the rukhs that produce magoi?" the rukh around the wand then started to change, crackling and buzzing before becoming thunder magic. "It's just as you see!" he said, holding his wand up higher, "This thunder magic is now completed!"
Magus had to wonder why Aladdin seemed so surprised by what he was hearing. Strange...It's like he hasn't heard this before. He thought.
"Aladdin! Just to confirm, do you know magic?" Sinbad asked.
"What kind of qu-" Magus started only to get interrupted by Aladdin answering.
"I don't."
Magus froze, his mind blanking at what he heard, before slowly turning his head to stare down at Aladdin. Ignoring what Sinbad was saying as he just...tried to understand what Aladdin just said.
What the fuck does he mean he doesn't know magic?
Aladdin had to know magic! There were thousands of magical books around the palace, and he had shown him where the beginner books were at! After all, Ugo had to have sh-
…
…
UGO. Magus thought with a growl, his eyes narrowing, coating his staff in magic and smacking away the ball of thunder thrown towards Aladdin. He ignored the looks that brought to him, his eyes focusing down at a bewildered Aladdin.
"EH~! Magus! This is suppose to be a fight between-" Judal started, seeming to frown at what Magus just did. Only to be silenced by the enraged glare sent his way.
"NOT. NOW." Magus growled, watching as Judal shifted uncomfortably, before turning back towards the scared chibi. He ignored how Judal started to pout at being ignored by the being (Because he knows for a fact Magus was something not of this world) he was interested in. "Aladdin?"
"Y-Yes, mama?" he squeaked, Aladdin hadn't seen Magus this angry since he had that fit about going outside, and almost killing himself in the process when a piece of the ceiling came down towards him.
"Did Ugo not teach you how to use magic?" he questioned. Because he didn't think Ugo was stupid enough to let Aladdin out into the world without a few lessons in magic so he could defend himself. "Well?" he pressed when Aladdin only trembled a bit. The chibi frantically shook his head 'no', not wanting to make Magus more angry then he was at the moment by not answering.
Silence. Everyones eyes were on the trembling form of the teenager.
"THAT SONNAVA' BITCH LET YOU OUT INTO THE WORLD, BY YOURSELF, WITHOUT TEACHING YOU FUCKING MAGIC?!" Magus roared. The ground cracking beneath him, charges of electricity curling around his body while his eye's slit.
Masrur felt bad for whoever it was that got Magus' ire, he remembered when he was little, and he watched Magus practically kill a whole pack of dangerous sabers by himself because they had scratched Morgiana and made her cry.
Morgiana was terrified of her brother right now, she never wanted to be on the other end of that.
Alibaba just became even more terrified by the teenager. Shit he thought Magus was scary before, now he really was glad that Aladdin stopped Magus from beating him up.
Sinbad was conflicted on how to feel. He was impressed by the power, Magus would be a great asset to helping his kingdom. But then he was concerned because he didn't think he could get Magus to be loyal to him.
Judal...Judal was in awe and was practically squealing at what he was seeing. He watched as the black rukh flourished on Magus' rage, how feral and dangerous Magus looked in that moment. It just sent shivers up his spine.
Judal had decided then and there, that he wanted Magus.
Just as suddenly he exploded, Magus calmed down, reining in his magic and taking a deep- VERY DEEP- breath. "...Right...We...Will deal with this later. Aladdin."
"Y-Yes mama?"
"Go to your brother's and sister, protect each other, and don't interfere." he ordered, before he looked over to Masrur. "Masrur, protect them when able."
"R-Right." Aladdin hesitated, before flinging his arms around Magus' waist in a tight hug. "Please be careful." he whispered before scampering off towards Morgiana, Rumal, and Runic.
"Hn..." Magus then turned towards the teen, quirking a brow at the excited look on Judal's face. Is he blushing? He thought in wonder as he saw red stain the males cheeks. He is blushing, what the hell? He thought in wonder, maybe he was getting sick? "Right, I am not letting Aladdin fight you since he doesn't know any magic. So, you'll have to do with me. I admit, I don't know much magic, you can only learn so much from books. Some of the spells I had no idea on how to use, and Ugo couldn't do them so I never had examples..." Magus stated. "But, I think the few I do know are more then enough."
"Sure! Alright!" Judal agreed easily, causing Magus to narrow his eyes at him. "I'll even leave the chibi and all the other pathetic humans alone," he then lifted up his hand and showed Magus one finger. "on one condition~!"
"...What is it?"
"Be mine!" he declared.
Everyone's eyes widened at that. Did they just hear him right? Judal wants Magus to join him?
Sinbad felt like he would have a heart attack. He didn't really think Magus would accept, in fact he though he would beat Judal to a pulp for trying to punch Aladdin.
….but...
Magus...really didn't have a reason not to join either. Sinbad had been watching the not-teen since he first heard that he could see the rukh, and he wasn't sure about what to think on how the finalist looked at the world. Magus, honestly, just didn't care about anything but Aladdin and any he considered family. People could be suffering right next to the man, begging for help, and he would be the only one able to help, but he would ignore it since it didn't affect his family. Everything could be burning around him, and he would sit there and watch with siblings safely at his side, disinterested as he watched black rukh be formed. Not to mention the fact that the teenager seemed to hate him for some reason, well...he could probably guess why...but he hopes that Magus liked him better then the dark organization.
"I'm not joining you." Magus said bluntly, getting into his finalist stance, he subconsciously adjusted it to include his staff.
Judal just kept smiling, chuckling like he just heard something funny. "Join me? No~ No~! That's not what I meant~!" he said, waving a hand in the air, "When I said 'Be mine', I really meant to 'Be Mine'," he then pointed at Magus, a small blush still on his face, "I want you, yourself, all to myself~!"
A snarl ripped through the air, and it didn't come from Magus or the twins. Eye's flew towards the feral looking Masrur, glaring viciously at Judal at what he had just said.
"...Masrur?" Sinbad questioned. But the finalist didn't say anything, he just glared at the teen.
"...Right..." Magus said, turning back to Judal and wondering why the hell Masrur was pissed off. "Well, I am still saying 'No'...So..." Magus trailed off before launching himself towards Judal. The latter of the two made a surprised noise at the sudden movement, but didn't move. After all physical attacks couldn't-
Judal ducked when Magus' leg-...
…
…
Excuse me, Magus' lightning coated leg, smashed through his borg.
"Ah..." Judal looked over towards a surprised looking Magus. "...I didn't think that would have work." Magus commented, bringing his leg down and twirling his staff, jabbing it at Judal.
"Y...You broke my Borg!" Judal said in astonishment dodging the staff aimed at him. His excitement went through the roof, finally! Someone he could fight with! Judal dodged more of Magus' attacks, mostly the thunder balls sent towards him when Magus slashed his staff. Judal was grinning like the happiest child on earth, before he vaulted into the sky and flew upwards. He then grabbed his wand with both hands and concentrated on the water in the air. "Neh! Magus, did you know this is a fog town~?" he questioned, making Magus narrow his eyes as Judal gathered a large amount of water above him. Then Judal solidified it into a giant block of ice, "Look~ Look~! My specialty is ice magic!"
"Hm. I see that." Magus replied, waiting to see what he was going to do with the ice. "...Impressive."
Judal giggled at the praise, "I know right? Very impressive~! I had a really hard time learning this!" He then pursed his lips in thought, "Still tough for me to do it with long distances..." he muttered, but Magus heard it and cocked a brow. Judal looked around at the surprised faces, he clicked his tongue. "Oh, it's still too early for you scumbags to be surprised, my special move starts now~!" he then jerked his wand a bit, and ice started to peel off of the main body.
Magus watched as it kept peeling, until several long and sharp pieces floated around Judal. Magus widened his stance, stabbing his staff in front of him and commanded the rukh around him to gather.
"TAKE THIS!" Judal yelled, commanding the shards of ice to shoot through the air towards Magus and everyone else.
Magus ignored how the shards either hurt or almost hurt the people around him. His siblings were safe where they were, even if the shards started to freeze the floor it wont reach them. Instead, he gave a command to the rukh he had gathered and used the spell he was familiar with when he was in liem. A barrier of heat surrounded him, melting the ice that came into contact with it, he usually used this spell on cold night's, and usually he couldn't control the temperature of the heat with just his hands, so he was pleasantly surprised when he was able to get the heat to where he wanted. "Hn, nice try. But," he started gathering water himself, both from Judal's now melted ice and from around the town. The water coiled around him like a giant snake, when he had enough Magus then commanded some more rukh to turn into thunder, before combining the two. "Let's see what else you can do." and with that, he sent the electrically charged water serpent towards the floating teen.
Judal quickly dodged it, narrowing his eye's at the snake that followed him, before throwing some fire spells at it. When it didn't work he decided to up the potency of his fire magic. He made sure it was hot enough to melt iron before sending it at the water snake, he grinned when it evaporated a giant portion of it. "Wooooow~! This is going to be so much FUN!" he declared, sending more of his ice shards towards Magus, boosting their speed with some wind to become even more deadly.
Magus evaded them, one nicking his shoulder, and the other hitting his earring. He paused when he felt the earring that Ugo made him shatter, the pieces falling to the floor, he felt his magoi increase, along with his connection to the rukh. He saw that everyone was staring at him, he furrowed his brows at that, following their eye's to his hair, it had gone back to how it originally was. The white was back.
"...Eh?" Judal said, watching as the rukh fluttered towards Magus in bulks. He just kept surprising Judal, and just made the dark magi want him more.
"Ah...I had forgotten about that earring." Magus stated, examining his braided hair. He had actually forgot he had white in his hair, he had never bothered to take the earring off back in liem, and because of that he had completely forgotten that his magoi was being suppressed. Hmm...It still doesn't feel right. He thought as he felt his magoi, something was missing. How did I not notice this before? He wondered, he then shrugged. This was not the time for this. So, with that thought for later, he launched himself at Judal- earning a startled yelp from the teen- and slamming his staff into the teen's borg. "Oh, you reinforced it at the last minute," he noted when only a crack was made, he analyzed Judal's arms- that he threw up- tremble from the force of Magus' attack. "But, you need more upper arm strength if you want to keep this up." he noted, swinging his left leg and connecting with the shield, sending it crashing to the other side of the room. Magus didn't relent, as he ran he gathered more water around the bottom of his staff, shaping it to a deadly spike, readying to plunge it into Judal's middle.
Magus abruptly leap backwards as jagged spikes came out of the ground, once he was a good distance away Judal stopped pointing his wand at the ground and instead focused it on Magus. "Heeh~ You're really fast!" Judal giggled out, his blood pumping in his ear as his heart beat thrummed loudly. God, he was having so much fun! He couldn't remember the last time he fought like this. Judal then grinned mischievously, the tip of his wand starting to glow, "But~ are you faster then light itself?" he questioned just as he shot a beam of light at Magus. Said finalist barely dodged it, a part of flesh on his leg being seared off, his nose scrunched up at the smell of burning flesh.
"MAMA!" Aladdin and the twins cried out in worry. Morgiana made to move towards her brother, but when Magus sent a seething glare her way, she reluctantly stayed where she was. Clenching and un-clenching her hands.
"Magus!" Masrur called out, "Are you alright?"
"Ah." Magus answered with a nod, keeping his eyes trained on Judal.
"Oh! That would have taken off your leg if you hadn't moved!" Judal commented. "Good thing you did, I don't want to blow your leg off if I can help it." he muttered, before shrugging and making the light grow. "Mah~ Oh well, I'm pretty sure you can dodge a fatal hit anyway!" He said happily, "Lets see how long you can keep it up, neh?" and with that he shot a barrage of the beams, forcing Magus to keep moving.
Masrur watched as this went on, he would have been fascinated about this fight if it wasn't Magus fighting it. He wanted to go out there and help! But he couldn't, physical attacks didn't work because of that borg, and he didn't have access to his household vessel since Sinbad didn't have his djins.
Never before had Masrur wanted to strangle Sinbad for his stupidity more then he did right then.
He was also worried because of the state he had found Magus in earlier. Sure, his friend said he was fine, but Masrur could clearly see that something was absolutely wrong with him. He kept zoning in and out, his eyes slitted and a glowing red sometimes, and he seemed to not understand where he was at times. Magus... he thought desperately when another spell almost got Magus.
Judal was already running fairly low on magoi, these attacks he was using weren't ones he mastered, thus making him use more energy then necessary. Ah...I need to take Magus down somehow. He thought as Magus started making his way closer towards him. Hmmm~ Oh! He thought as a spell came to mind, I could use that...? But he probably won't fall for that... he thought, his eyes roaming the room quickly to see what could distract Magus into his trap. That was when his eye's fell on exactly what he needed. Oh? Perfect! Hopefully it'll work, or else I may be screwed. And with that decided Judal concentrated on gathering a large amount of rukh, dodging the high pressure water balls being shot at him, before pointing his wand- not at Magus- at the twin finalist that strayed from their siblings when they dodged a few stray attacks.
Magus' eye's widened as he watched Judal shot large shards of ice at the twins, Magus focused his magic into his legs and sprinted towards the two, dropping his staff since it would have just weighed him down. He shoved the two out of the way just in time for the shards to imbed themselves into him, pinning him to the was with a snarl. He was about to rip the shards out, but his muscles were frozen in place.
"Got yoooou~!" Magus lifted his head, only to be met face to face with Judal. The latter of the two smiled victoriously, lifting his wand to Magus' forehead. "I~ Win~!" he sang, before something jolted through his head. Magus let out a short howl of pain, before his vision blurred.
The last he heard were screams of his name.
"MAGUS/BIG BROTHER/MAMA!"
But two voice's stood out more then anything else in his mind.
"Are you alright, Asura? Be careful."
"Asura, you okay? Look like it hurt."
"Astaroth...Solomon..." he mumbled before everything went black.
