A new chapter has arrived! After getting back on track and improved a little bit on my writing I'm back with this chapter! Enjoy it!
Third person view
The boy with the long white beanie was skeptical looking at Jack, he already saw the news and the video thanks to his pokenav. Just the thought of fighting Jack makes him want to battle him right on the spot, but his eyes are unnerving him to do so.
"Friend of yours?" Jack asked May, she nodded and then pointed to him.
"His name is Brandon, he just moved to Littleroot town thanks to my fathers favor." She explained to Jack that was paying attention to her.
"What are you doing here with him?"
"We just became trainers! Right now we are going to the gym to get our first badge, what about you?"
"Looking around the city, letting my partners have some fun before going to the next gym."
"Next gym? You beat the first gym already!?" She asked to him bewildered, Jack thought that she already saw the news but it looks like she isn't on pair.
"Here look at the video they put on the news May." Said the Brandon while handing his pokenav to her, first time Jack heard his voice since the start of the conversation. He sounded like one of those confident people that can overcome everything if they put effort on it.
Jack then felt a small thud on his leg, looking down Absol was signaling him that she and Ralts wanted to explore some more of the city.
"Okay, okay I get it. We'll go as soon as I finish talking with them." He said while petting both of his pokemon on their heads, he then turned around to both the kids in front of him. "I'm going to explore a bit more of the city, see you guys around." He said that with a small bow before resuming his walk with his pokemon.
"W-wait Jack! Let's go together! We want to explore too!" She said rushing forward while grabbing Brandon's hand to follow Jack, much to Brandon's displeasure.
As they went exploring more of the city Brandon and May released their respective pokemon to let them play around. Brandon's pokemon was a male Mudkip, it looked quite playful as it wouldn't stop running around trying to get jack's Ralts in a game of catch. May's pokemon was a male Treecko, it was much calmer than Mudkip, but it wouldn't say no to a game of catch. Both of them seemed a bit trained up.
"Finally I'm done watching the video. I knew you were good Jack, but to defeat Roxanne like that wasn't on my mind." She said as she was looking at Jack's Ralts, she wanted to hug the feeling pokemon like she did to Absol.
"I know right? Your the first of many young trainers to defeat Roxanne in a two against two match." Said Brandon generally impressed with Jack, he on the other hand didn't make a big deal of it.
As they were strolling they heard someone shouting, almost a plead of help to anyone around and a loud explosion.
*Boom*
"Help! Those two stole very important Devon documents!" He shouted as two familiar persons of Jack ran away towards Route 116 with a two bags with papers showing off.
"Those two no good!" Said Jack as he began running towards the pair, his pokemon knowing what was going on began running beside their master that was chasing them.
Both May and Brandon didn't know what was going on so they decided to run after Jack, Brandon had the great idea of calling officer Jenny of an on going pursuit of two robbers going to Route 116.
Meanwhile on Lilly's part
Lilly just won against Roxanne with the help of her Combusken, it was a fierce fight but she was able to pull it off gracefully.
"Oh my Arceus! We did it Combusken! We really did it!" She cheered while jumping up in the air with her partner that was equally happy.
"Congratulations Lilly, you beat me fair and square. I present to you the stone badge as proof you beat me, and also one step for you to enter the pokemon league." Said Roxanne as she was handing Lilly her first badge, she looked almost proud for Lilly to beat her.
"I got the stone badge!" Announced Lilly with a pose while her Combusken ran around excitedly, this meant that she could challenge Jack now.
"Your going to challenge Jack aren't you?" Asked Roxanne to her seriously, Lilly nodded still with her happy status. "Then train first, even though you just beat me like him there is still a gap between you two."
"Oh come on! I bet that I can beat him! I have the type advantage on him thanks to my Combusken!" She said with confidence, Roxanne could only shake her head.
"He can counter your type with Ralts, she may not look strong but she displayed her trust that she has on Jack on my match with him." She told her with the same seriousness to Lilly, she on the other hand was still with the bliss of victory.
"I'll be fine! I mean he let his tired Ralts continue to fight against your Nosepass, if he changed then he could of beat you with all of his pokemon." Pointed Lilly out, almost saying that Jack failed to take care of his pokemon during the battle.
"You didn't noticed... She did the same with your Poochyena, she wanted to fight even though her bad shape." Explained Roxanne giving Lilly a revelation.
"She wanted to... Keep fighting?" Lilly was processing what she just learned, her Poochyena wanted to keep fighting, the same as Jack's Ralts wanted to fight.
*Boom*
Lilly's thoughts were halted when a loud explosion shook the gym, she almost fell if it weren't for the help of her partner.
"Help! Those two stole very important Devon documents!" Yelled someone as Lilly and Roxanne went outside to see smoke coming from the building of Devon Co.
Running towards the north two terrifying people that kept Lilly hostage passed through with bags filled with classified documents, just after they passed Jack and two teens chased them. One of the teens she didn't know who it was and the other was May.
"Roxanne we have to stop those crooks!" She said while looking at her, she nodded and began running with Lilly behind Jack and his gang.
Jack's P.O.V
They must of went towards the cave called Rusturf tunnel, its the only cave system that leads to Verdanturf town on land.
"Brandon did you called Officer Jenny yet?" I asked while panting a bit from the on going chase towards the two crooks he faced the other day.
"Y-yes! She said she'll be at the cave entrance in 3 minutes!" 3 minutes? That's enough time for them to have a head start to reach the next town!
"Damn... She won't catch up on time! We have to stop them ourselves." I said ourselves, but in reality I said that towards my partners.
"There's the cave! Is that Mr. Briney?" Said May, Mr. Briney? Why is he here? And why isn't Peeko with him?
"Mr. Briney! What happened?" I said hurrying towards him, after looking at him carefully it looked like he was shoved to the side with some force.
"J-Jack is that you!? Please help Peeko! Two persons pushed me and took my Peeko!" They took Peeko!?
"I'm going in!" I said to both my companions, I rushed inside and for some odd reason a wave of blue went ahead and pinpointed the location of the two crooks with Peeko shivering on a corner tied up. Was this Aura pinpoint? Whatever it is, it helped a lot.
"Jack wait! We'll go with you!" Said May with Brandon, Lilly and Roxanne coming in.
"Tch, we have to company Glenna!" Shouted a voice of the magma grunt.
"Not him again! Allen stop him while I take the rumble off!" She said as she was taking rocks after rock to clear the road with her Poochyena.
"Poochyena use Shadow Ball on the ceiling!" He wants to crush us!? The pokemon threw a shadowy blob on the ceiling making two large boulders raining down the gang.
"Ralts use Confusion!" I ordered as quickly as I could and she could only stop one boulder, dammit!
"AAAHHH!" The gang yelled while I took action and redirected my aura on my arms and torso, I was able to stop the boulder but I can only carry it for a very short time. I haven't trained enough to carry heavy objects for a long time.
"What are you four doing!? Get going!" I said while gritting my teeth as sparks were already coming out of my arms and torso, the pain is quickly increasing. "Move it!"
When they finally moved out of the way I dropped the boulder while gasping for air, I thought I was going to get crushed under it. The sparks aren't leaving anytime soon after this, the same goes to the pain I'm feeling.
"Go save Peeko!" I yelled as they went to save Peeko, well almost ALL of them! Roxanne stayed behind to see my wounds. They weren't pretty, my sparks for the first time left their mark on me. It was like red roots went up my arms.
"Does this happen to you?" She asked me, well no not really.
"First time it actually left its mark, I guess I went a bit too far using my aura." I thought I was using the right amount even, I guess I was mistaken.
Third person view
Lilly, Brandon and May went ahead after Roxanne told them that she would stay behind to see Jack's injuries, only Brandon and May were concerned. Lilly on the other hand wasn't because she already knew that Jack was fine, everyday she would stare at him training, hurting himself from time to time to some pokemon and even that time when he protected her.
"Don't worry about Jack, he'll be fine. He always is." She said with a small smile to them, their concern was still there but toughened up to save Peeko from the claws of the two grunts that hold Lilly hostage yesterday.
Once we saw the two grunts they turned backwards and saw the little gang, Peeko knew all three of them so he chirped happily to see them.
"Where is that guy? Is he dead?" Asked Glenna with fear visible on her face, she kept gripping her right arm, the same one Jack almost broke.
"Jack is back there recovering from the boulders that you nearly killed us with!" Said Lilly outraged, her rage was overcoming her fear against the two captors.
"A small sacrifice for our cause, plus that Jack guy should of died! Monsters deserve death!" Said Allen the team magma grunt to the small gang. Lilly and May were beyond angry while Brandon was thinking if Jack really deserved death, he only knows him for an hour or so and he doesn't seem that bad. Heck he used his own body to save everyone from being crushed.
"Combusken! Lets teach this guys a lesson!" She said while her partner jumped in front of her master, ready to give a beating to the grunts.
"Treecko lets show them how we do things!" Treecko jumped off May's shoulder and was ready to fight.
"Poochyena!" Both grunts said at the same time calling their pokemon to battle, their other pokemon were still affected from Jack's encounter so this is the best they can do.
"Mudkip watch how those two battle, we can maybe learn a thing or two." He said towards his partner, since Lilly was going to fight he can only stay behind as said in the rules of the pokemon league.
While the two parties were distracted Peeko was floating midair with a bluish outline around him, as he was floating above the both of them he landed on the arms of Jack with the help of Ralts' Confusion.
"Roxanne go outside and get Officer Jenny, I think we just caught our two criminals." Said Jack as he was untying Peeko with some difficult, he was still experiencing the pain from before. Roxanne nodded and went outside the cave to tell Jenny and Mr. Briney that Peeko was safe.
"Good job Ralts, we successfully saved Peeko from their hands." He said while petting her, she let out a cry of happiness to him.
"Combusken use Double kick on the Poochyena to the right!" Ordered Lilly as Combusken rushed forward and gave the criminals Poochyena two quickly executed kicks severely damaging the enemy.
"Treecko Quick Attack then use Mega Drain on the other Poochyena!" Ordered May making her Treecko lunge at blinding speed striking it for a decent amount of damage, Treecko then did a backflip and threw a red laser making Poochyena weaker than before while healing Treecko for half the damage he just did to Poochyena.
"Poochyena use Shadow Ball!" Both grunts said at the same time making the two pokemon two shadowy blobs when they threw at the same time, both blobs fused together and made a bigger and condescend sphere with purple electricity flowing in every direction. Both Combusken and Treecko took the full blow and got some decent damage showed from their bruises.
"Combusken use Flame Charge!" Ordered Lilly making Combusken cloaked in fire and charged towards on of the Poochyena, the result was that team aquas grunt Poochyena was knocked out of battle.
"Treecko use Quick Attack and finish the other Poochyena!" Ordered May making Treecko lunge at blinding speed again successfully knocking out the other Poochyena winning the double battle.
"This is officer Jenny! You two are under arrest, everything you say now will be used against you in court." Said Jenny finally entering the cave and apprehending both grunts.
"We were so close! Just one more minute and we were out of here!" Said Allen not believing that he got caught, with a team aqua grunt no less.
"Where's Jack?"Asked Lilly not seeing him inside the cave.
"If your asking about the guy with Roxanne, he's outside with Mr. Briney with his pokemon." Explained Jenny while handcuffing both grunts.
Lilly, May and Brandon left the cave to see Peeko flying happily around Mr. Briney, Jack was without his jacket revealing a sleeveless white shirt, a last minute call on his behalf when he was at home, but tucked his long white shirt on his bag. His arms were covered with bandages.
"Can I put my jacket back on Roxanne? It feels weird without it." He complained while eyeing his jacket on her hands, it was to her request to take his jacket and put the bandages on his arms.
"I think its better to let the fresh air help your marks, plus its hot today. No need to use this." She said as she put his jacket under her arm, he let a sigh of defeat before noticing the gang.
"Hey guys, great job on dealing the grunts." He said as he crossed his arms, Lilly ignored the bandages but the other two didn't.
"Oh my Arceus! Jack what happened to your arms?" Asked May rushing to him worriedly, Brandon followed behind just looking at the bandages.
"Nothing much, I just overused my aura. It'll probably heal in a few days." He said as he looked to the side, Absol and Ralts were just waiting around for the two grunts to leave the cave with officer Jenny.
And speak of the devil there were the two culprits the policewoman apprehended, her Growlithe was following her master and keeping the two grunts in line.
"On behalf of the pokemon police force, thank you for capturing these two criminals." She said while saluting the gang. "But next time don't risk your life to stop criminals, that's my job." With a final sigh of relief she put both criminals on the back of her police car.
Jack went ahead and saw Glenna, she was still scared of him as she was gripping her arm. Allen on the other hand was cursing this and that.
"Now I should tell you that 'you deserve to rot in jail', but that would me being a monster right?" He said as he was looking at her, she was still visible shacking. "I hope you repent for your sins and have a good life after your time is done." He finished his silent conversation to her, she looked at him surprised, he actually meant well for her to have a good life.
After that officer Jenny took the grunts away and only Glenna looked behind seeing Jack one last time before going to jail, she thought that maybe he wasn't a monster after all.
"Roxanne give me my jacket back, I won't wear it." He said in hopes to get his black jacket back, luckily he got his wish and he had his jacket on his back, technically he wasn't wearing it so it was fine.
Finally a new chapter for this story, I'm very sorry for the long wait. I was just updating and making other stories, because this author needed the extra stories. Hope to see you guys enjoyed the chapter and be on the lookout of new chapters.
