Chapter 10: A secret

Normal POV

It was another day, well just a day. This time, the rain was pouring hard like hell. Tsubaki decided to stay at Maka's apartment and her father decided that Tsubaki will stay in Death City for 3 years. In the end, Tsubaki will study now in Shibusen.

Maka and Tsubaki were running to the nearest bus stop to get sheltered.

"Why rain today of all days?!" Maka whined.

"What's the matter Maka?" Tsubaki asked, kinda soaked head to toe.

"Well, it's your first day of school and I want to show you around but too bad it's raining." Maka said while getting a cloth from her pocket.

"Ah. It's fine Maka. Don't we have the same classes?" Tsubaki wondered.

"Actually, we have, except for Chemistry." Maka said. Tsubaki just nodded.

The bus already arrived and they went in there fast.

At the school~

Soul and Kid were walking around the school since they were surprisingly early.

"Dude, why did you wake me up! Damn it's only 7!" Soul grunted, glaring at Kid with tired red eyes.

"Sorry, just need some company." Kid smirked.

"Then you should've asked Black Star. He wakes up at 4 just to train." Soul explained.

"I would rather get hit than that." Kid muttered. Soul just shrugged.

"Just tellin' you man. Around this time he would just ran-" Soul's sentence was cut off by a scream.

"YAHOO! HELLO YOU SERVANTS!" Black Star's loud shout echoed through the empty hallways.

"Shut up you moron!" Soul and Kid shouted at the same time.

"Whatever. Soul, why the hell are you here? You're damn early!" Black Star said, turning to the white haired boy.

Soul scowled, "Shut up Black Star. No one shouts this early in the morning!"

Then a random scream was heard. The three got alerted and ran to the source of it. And the sight wasn't the thing they expect.

Kilik was dead on the floor, unconscious.

"How the hell did that happen?" Black Star asked. They saw Maka and a new girl with her that made Black Star go pink.

"What did you do?" Soul asked them.

"Well, I thought it was some random guy holding mine and Tsubaki's shoulders." Maka explained.

Kilik groaned and sat up, "Damn. That hurts."

"Sorry, Kilik." Maka apologized.

Kilik just grinned and said, "Don't worry. I'm fine. Sorry I just did that."

"Heh.." Maka muttered and helped Kilik up.

"Why are you guys early?" Kid asked Maka, who Tsubaki eyed him for a bit, then looked at Maka.

Maka sent a small glare, "I- we just want to go early since I will show her around, unfortunately it was raining hard and we are totally soaked!"

"Ahem….Maka, Lord Death wished to speak to you." Kilik said while looking at her, "Alone."

Maka nodded and understand what does Lord Death wants to discuss about.

"Tsubaki, I have to go. It's urgent." Maka said.

"Okay Maka. I'll just stay with them." Tsubaki smiled.

"Better not touch her." Maka glared at the four boys. They gulped and nodded.

At the Death Room~

"Hello Lord Death!" Maka greeted the tall man.

"Hello~ Nice to see you again Maka~ Did you receive it?" Lord Death asked her.

"Yes. Why does he still exist?" Maka roared, quite angry at an outcome unknown.

"I'm sorry Maka. I thought we had him. I guess not." Lord Death said sadly.

"Do Uncle Asura and the others know?" Maka asked.

"Yes. Everyone knows." Lord Death replied. Maka nodded in response.

"Even your….?" Maka asked cautiously.

"No." Was Lord Death's only reply

Maka only nodded and left the room. They don't know that Kid was there, listening to their conversation.

Back with Tsubaki and the others~

Black Star was still looking at Tsubaki like she was a Goddess.

Well, for Black Star she IS a Goddess.

They saw Maka coming back and Tsubaki waved.

"So, how did it go?" Tsubaki asked. Maka merely shrugged.

"Tsubaki, we still have some time. Let's go to the library!" Maka said happily. Tsubaki smiled back for the enthusiasm of the girl and followed her, leaving the three guys there.

Corridor (Kid POV)~

I am walking down the long corridor, getting out of the room without getting noticed. I got suddenly curious at why Father wants to talk to Maka. It's weird that she even knows Asura, kicked Soul's butt and cursed at Black Star. But talking to my Father? That is definitely weird!

I don't usually eavesdrop on whoever Father talks to, but this time I will be a naughty son first to find out. Who is that person Father and Maka talking about? Told who? Received what?

Wait. Received something? Is that the folder that Stein gave me? I should've checked the contents. But if I did, Stein will dissect me, and Maka will kill me. Plus, her reflex was scary. If she ever did something to that extreme extent intentionally, it will be twice as painful.

What were they really talking about? Should I ask Father? I'm getting crazy from all these questions in my head! I will just continue my way to go to the others.

Class room~ (Normal POV)

Every sat in their own respective seat when Miss Marie came. On the front row, Kid, Soul, Black Star and the Thompson sisters sat there. Behind them were Maka, Tsubaki, Kilik, Ox and Kim.

"Now everyone we have a new student today. She came from Japan." Miss Marie announced.

Tsubaki actually became friend with Kid, Soul and even Black Star, also Kilik, Ox and Kim. In the end, Maka also befriended the three since they now don't mind Maka was a nerd but Ox and Maka are still rivals in academics.

"Will you please come here and introduce yourself?" Miss Marie asked, looking at Tsubaki.

Just then everyone's attention went to Tsubaki who was only smiling nervously.

She nodded and walked up front and gave a warm smile that the boys seem to like her.

"Hello, my name is Tsubaki Nakatsukasa, nice to meet you all." She said and bowed.

Everyone then soon did the regular thing when there is a new student.

"Where do you live in Japan?"

"Are you rich?"

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

People were booming with questions as the poor Tsubaki listens to it.

Miss Marie stopped it with a strict voice, "Stop! Stop doing this ritual of asking questions and be quiet or you will all have a quiz!"

Everyone went quiet till then. Since all (except Maka, Ox, Kid and Kim) in their mind said,

Miss Marie returned to her sweet voice, "All right then. Tsubaki, please take your seat."

Tsubaki nodded and rushed to return to her seat. Kilik then smirk.

"It seems like they guys are gonna all over you now." Kilik made a silent laugh. Ox followed.

"Don't worry Tsubaki, you'll get used to it." Kim whispered. Tsubaki just nodded and they all went to concentrate to class.

Lunch~

Now the crowd now was big, for Maka. Kim decided to join Tsubaki and Maka. They are now at the garden where it is the only peaceful place in the whole school.

"Hey, we have that Physics assignment, right?" Kim asked Maka.

"Yeah. It wasn't really that hard." Maka said while taking a bit of her lunch.

Kim groaned and dramatically leaned on Tsubaki, "For you, it is. For me it's like my brain is gonna explode."

Tsubaki laughed and Maka rolled her eyes. Soon they boys suddenly walk by.

Maka is still mad at Kid. She really wants Kid to avoid her as early as possible.

"Hey." The guys said.

Kim wasn't happy to see Ox. Maka wasn't happy to see Kid. And Black Star was really happy to see his "Goddess".

The guys sat down on the floor, much to Soul's distaste and talk with the girls. Maka was quiet the whole time, Kid too. Black Star is still admiring Tsubaki.

"Maka." Kid suddenly spoke. Their chatter stopped for a bit and look at Kid then at Maka.

Maka looked at him with a bit of coldness in her eyes and she said, "What?"

"Here." He gave a small piece of paper. Maka wondered what it is and her eyes shot up to look at Kid.

"How….?"
