Well, hello people! Yeah, it had been a really long time since I updated this story! Hopefully, now I will have time to change that (okay I won't have time, but I will try my best).
Sorry for the long wait!
Enjoy :)
Movies Night
A break. While the other people were talking about the movie so far, there was a small group that kept silence, except for one German man. "Man, I have a feeling this movie will have an awesome ending!" claimed Gilbert.
"I want to be Iron Man!" claimed Peter. Then he stared at Alfred, "Can I become one?"
"Of course you can," answered Alfred proudly. Peter resembled Alfred in that matter, what made Arthur a little bit jealous. Obviously adopted kids won't look like their adoptive parents, but Peter and Alfred had a lot in common. Even then they were talking; one could easily mistake them as biological father and son.
"Are you okay? You look a little bit down." Arthur turned around and saw Francis was looking at him with a worried look. Gilbert was still there, waiting for the movie to continue and Antonio was probably buying more popcorn.
"I'm fine, thanks," said Arthur. Of course, he lied. Sitting between Francis and Alfred wasn't the most relaxing experience.
"Don't lie to me," said Francis. "You look worried."
Throughout their relationship, Francis learned to face what he called "Arthur's moods"- Arthur never liked that name. Francis was the only one, besides Alice, who could tell how Arthur really felt, as if they knew each other since childhood. There was no point lying to Francis. Still, Arthur decided to say nothing. Francis just smiled, as if he knew something and waited for Arthur to admit it.
"Can you two stop flirting? It's annoying to watch," Gilbert yelled at the two of them.
"What is flirting?" asked Peter.
"It's nothing…" Arthur said quickly. "Do you want more popcorn?"
"Yes," said Alfred and Peter said in unison.
Arthur stood up. He was followed by Francis and Alfred, both claiming they wanted to help, but Arthur refused. He felt tensed. He couldn't even enjoy the movie or focus on the plot. He wanted to enjoy the movie with his family, but how could he concentrate when Francis was around? It reminded him the old days, when they went to the movies, but they always sat in the back, there no one would notice them making out. One thing was sure; Arthur could never watch a movie with Francis around.
On his way, Arthur ran into Antonio who was carrying a large amount of candies. "Hey, Arthur," the Spaniard greeted him. It was surprising they remembered each other.
"Hey," Arthur said quietly. Antonio was a nice person, but he wasn't really in a mood for conversation.
"Who is the man you came with?" Antonio abruptly asked.
"That's my husband," said Arthur. There was an awkward moment of silence.
"You know what? I should be back before the movie starts again," Antonio broke the silence.
"Of course, sorry for holding you," apologized Arthur.
Antonio continued walking, not before whispering to Arthur's ear: "He still loves, you know? If you don't love him back, let go of him before you hurt him."
Alfred was a good father, as far as Francis could tell. He really made Peter excited about heroes' stuff- more than any other four year old would. And for a moment, Francis had a glimpse into Arthur's new life. Arthur wanted a family, and Alfred was a good guy to start one with. Francis wasn't delusional, knowing it would be hard to get back to Arthur, however seeing how close his new family was… Maybe that was what was holding Arthur back. Francis had never realized how much Arthur had to lose.
It was hard. But Francis knew it was his fault. He made a stupid decision and he was about to regret that for the rest of his life.
Antonio came back, followed by Arthur. Judging the awkward aura around them, they didn't talk that much. Antonio met Arthur before- they even got along together- and he knew all about what happened. Same goes for Gilbert. Honestly, how come his life turned out that way because of his illness? It didn't kill him, but it changed his life and not for the best case of scenario.
Francis understood he had to stay away from Arthur, to let him live his life. But he couldn't. Neither did he want to let go of the British. Francis loved Arthur more than anyone. No, Francis knew he could stop loving Arthur, even if it meant Arthur could never be his.
The truth was, Francis had no idea what the movie was about. All he could think of was Arthur sitting beside him, the times they used to spend together. The times they used to spend their money on a movie they never watched- they just made out in the last row; there no one could see them. Once an angry homophobe sat in front of them and yelled some ugly words towards them. He himself didn't care that much, but Arthur clearly got offended so Francis stood against that guy. The result was Francis got beaten up and Arthur took care of his wounds. Francis didn't look back in anger. Arthur and he just started dating and that man brought them a little bit closer.
Wasn't it funny? They were dating for two years only, but they were young and created memories. Francis was surprised to remember everything as if it happened yesterday.
Francis looked to his side again and Peter was staring at him. He could tell why Alfred used to say Peter looked like both of them. If he didn't know better, he wouldn't be able to tell Peter was adopted. Francis smiled at him. Peter remembered their little agreement. Maybe it wasn't nice and some day Peter would understand the meaning behind it, but Francis did like to tease Arthur.
After the movie ended Alfred and Arthur drove home immediately. "The movie was good," said Arthur, though he didn't follow the plot at all. He was driving the car, hoping that he would be focused on the road and not Francis.
"It was awesome!" said Alfred. He was excited as a child and couldn't stop talking about the battles and the scene after the credits.
"I want to be Iron man," said Peter again. "Even France said I can do it."
Both Alfred and Arthur were confused. "Who is France?"
"The guy who at next to papa," said Peter.
"You mean Francis," Arthur corrected his son's mistake. Though, it was funny to refer someone as a country.
"It seemed that you liked sitting next to him," said Alfred.
Arthur knew there this was going and he didn't like that direction. "What did you want me to do? He paid for that chair."
"He is stalking you."
"You are mad."
"I like him," said Peter. "He told me about the birds and the bees when I told him about Wy."
Both Alfred and Arthur were shocked, to say the least. Arthur had to ask: "what exactly did he tell you?" Arthur knew Francis, but he didn't know how he was with children. He never had a chance to find out.
"He said it was something you find out after marriage. Or when I turn thirteen, whatever comes first," said Peter.
Arthur laughed. "That's the type of guy you dated," said Alfred, trying to tease Arthur.
"Sure," said Arthur. "Keep laughing at my taste. After all, I did marry you."
That made Alfred to keep silence to the rest of the road.
When Francis came back home, Matthew was waiting for him. It was nice seeing him, though he did wonder why the man stayed up late. Usually he would be asleep at that time. "Hello," Matthew greeted him with a smile."How was the movie?"
"It was good," Francis lied. The truth was that Arthur was the only thing he could focus on. "Why are you up?"
"I was waiting for you," admitted Matthew, blushing.
Francis laughed. "Well, thanks, dad, but I'm not some careless teenage girl."
"Francis, can we talk?" Matthew said out of the blue.
Matthew was serious, and that scared Francis for a moment. "Sure, is everything alright?"
Matthew nodded. Matthew got up the couch and stepped closer to Francis. He walked as a drunken person and that worried Francis. Matthew wasn't that type of guy. When Matthew was close, Francis could smell the alcohol in Matthew's breath. Matthew stumbled and fell on Francis. Francis caught him.
"Are you okay?" Francis asked.
Matthew looked at Francis for a short moment and then did something unexpected. Matthew suddenly kissed Francis. It felt weird. Matthew was a bad kisser, not at all. In fact, Francis did enjoy that kiss. But it felt so wrong, as if he was kissing his little brother. Why would Matthew do that?
Francis intended to break the kiss and when he did, he noticed Gilbert standing at the door way. For some unknown reason, he looked hurt despite his usual smile, but Francis couldn't figure out why. Maybe it was his imagination- a lot if weird things happened that night.
"Am I interrupting something?" said Gilbert.
"No…" said Francis. He notices that Matthew fell asleep- fainted, actually- on him. "My roommate decided to get drunk for some reason, and he acts a little bit weird."
"Let me help you," said Gilbert. He reached to Francis and took drunken Matthew. "He is a lot lighter than what he looks like."
"Yeah," said Francis. Then suddenly he realized: "wait a minute, do you like Matthew?"
"What?" Clearly Gilbert lied. "Can't a guy help his friend carry his drunken roommate without liking him?"
"No," Francis greened. "I noticed that lately you visit more often."
"Maybe I like you?" Gilbert tried to deny, but it came out weird. "Never mind, I never said that."
"I never heard anything," Francis agreed to the unspoken promise.
Francis looked at his roommate. "I can't believe you went from Elizaveta to Matthew… They are from different continents!"
"I don't know what you are thinking, but you reaching the wrong conclusion," said Gilbert.
Francis pointed at one of the rooms. "This is Matthew's room… He has a big bed."
"Shut up," mumbled Gilbert, carrying drunken Matthew to the room. Then Francis felt something was wrong. Why would Matthew kiss him? Was it wrong to send Gilbert?
Alfred was confused. He couldn't focus on his job- all he could think about was Francis and Arthur. Arthur didn't seem as if he was attending to leave him, but he knew that there was a good chance he will. Alfred made Arthur to tell him the truth. He asked about their relationship, but Arthur didn't want to talk about it. The British told him that the past is called the past for a reason and that he is worried too much.
It killed him.
He went to the bar named Feli's the day after. And the cute waitress with the large breast and Russian accent worked that day. Without her noticing, he took off his wedding ring and talked to her. She liked to hear the things he said. She didn't mock him about wanting to become a hero. While it was hard to deal with Arthur, it was a lot easier to talk with Katyusha.
Little did he know that he was about to come back to Feli's.
Maybe I should try to make things better instead of more drama? Nah...
I'm thinking about a little PruCan extra (Like the one I made for Spamano only better written?) Anyway, please leave a review^^
