Katherine glared at Celeste who was currently sleeping with her back up against the wall of the tomb. The wheels began to turn in her head and a grin began to spread itself on her face. Katherine was bored and all work and no play made her a dull girl.

Celeste sat in the hotel room reading her book. She looked up when the door opened and James walked in.

"Hey, what took you so long?" She smiled and walked over to him and wrapped her arms around his neck.

James leaned down and kissed her before holding up a bottle of scotch and grinning. "I had to get some supplies." Laughing, Celeste grabbed a couple of glasses and watched as James opened the bottle and poured some in both of the glasses.

A couple of hours later they were thoroughly drunk and feverishly kissing. They slowly walked backward toward the bed all the while kissing and their hands all over each other. James shoved Celeste on the bed and pulled his shirt off before he climbed on top of her.

Celeste placed her hands on his chest and gently pushed him making him pause. "I…I don't think I'm ready to do this right now."

James' face darkened, unusually angry. "Why not? Haven't you slept with someone before?" He snapped at her, his tone cruel and sharp from the alcohol.

"Of course I have. I just don't feel ready to sleep with you." Celeste glowered at him and made a move to get up from the bed.

James roughly pulled her back on the bed and held her there. Celeste felt the first hint of fear begin to crawl up her spine.

"Let go of me. Now." She stated firmly trying to keep the fear from her voice.

James coldly grinned at her and began to forcibly take off her clothes. Celeste struggled underneath him and managed to land a punch on his face. When she saw the look he gave her, she knew that she had made a huge mistake. He began landing punches on her, everywhere. Then, he pulled a knife and slowly slid it across her neck—slicing like butter. She began to feel the warm blood coating her and she began to choke on her blood, her eyes slowly shutting as she felt the life drain out of her.

Celeste jerked awake and sat up in a cold sweat. She glared over at Katherine who was laughing at her.

"You bitch." Celeste growled.

Katherine shook her head at her in mock pity. "My, my Celeste. You made it so easy to get inside your head. Tell me, in that particular memory of yours did James rape you or simply beat you senseless?"

Celeste clenched her jaw in anger. "That's none of your business." She settled back against the tomb wall. "Were you always this cold of a bitch or was this only after your precious Salvatore brothers realized what you were and turned you down?"

Katherine's eyes narrowed at her briefly before the smirk returned to her face. "I knew your mother, you know. She was a pretty little thing. You look just like her in fact, except you have your father's charm and quick wit."

Celeste sat up at this with her fists clenched at her side and Katherine continued, "I was the one who killed her. She was human, which generally humans are very easy to kill but I made it slow. She was begging me to kill her at the end. You're the reason she's dead, you know. We tried to get you sooner but she just couldn't seem to keep her pesky nose out of our business. If only your dear old father had been around to have helped both of you." Katherine sneered.

At this point Celeste couldn't take it anymore and launched herself at Katherine with a yell of anger. Katherine was expecting it though and easily flung her aside making Celeste slam in the rock wall. She crumpled to the floor and slowly sat up glaring at Katherine with pure fury in her eyes.

"I'm going to enjoy killing you. I'll make it slow, where you will be the one begging for a stake in your heart." She winced as she felt her back healing itself from the scrapes and bruises.

"It'll be a pleasure to see you try." Katherine grinned with challenge in her eyes.

Stefan and Damon stood at the entrance of the tomb talking to Celeste about Elena. "You trapped her at the house?" Celeste asked incredulously looking between the two of them.

"It's for the best. Trust me. Elena is on a martyr that rivals Stefan's greatest hits. You should be glad the witch and I are even getting along." Damon answered her while Stefan handed her a brown bag.

"There are candles, lanterns and some food in there for you. I'm sure you're starving." Stefan smiled kindly at Celeste.

Damon added in a mock whisper, "There is also booze so you can drink yourself senseless." Celeste laughed and took the bag gratefully.

"You three are surprisingly calm, considering Klaus will hunt you down and kill you if you mess with his little plan," Katherine said in a sing song voice from the back of the tomb.

Damon rolled his eyes. "I've been dead before, I'll get over it."

"You two make sure you keep Elena safe, okay? Keep me updated about everything. And thanks again for bringing this stuff, I really appreciate it." Celeste grinned at them.

Time in the tomb seemed to pass by incredibly slow. Katherine continued to try to bait and taunt Celeste but she managed to just block it out and continue drinking the alcohol that Stefan and Damon had brought her. Celeste was in a peaceful alcohol-induced sleep when she heard a familiar voice. When she walked to the entrance, her eyebrows rose in surprise when she who was standing there.

She could sense Katherine was beside her who stated in a frightened voice, "Elijah."

Elijah nodded in approval. "Good evening, Katerina. Thank you for having the good sense to be frightened." Pausing to glance at Celeste he added, "Your release has been requested."

Celeste frowned in puzzlement. "What? By who?"

Elijah smiled slightly before he answered, "The lovely Elena drives a hard bargain. However, we reached a peaceful agreement, she and I. Please," He gestured for Celeste to walk out of the tomb.

Celeste shrugged, "I can't."

"Yes, you can. I've had the spell lifted." Celeste tentatively walked out of the tomb and breathed a sigh of relief when she cleared the entrance.

She heard a whoosh of air and turned to see Katherine trying to leave but Elijah was staring her down with a steely glare. "As for you however, you shall not exit until I say so. When Klaus comes, he'll want to know exactly where you are." Turning back toward Celeste Elijah said, "I think it's time you and I had a little talk."

Elijah and Celeste had left the tomb and were now walking through the woods back towards her house. Celeste cleared her throat nervously.

"So, thank you for getting me out of there. I'm sure you can imagine what it was like considering the company." She was surprised when she heard Elijah chuckle.

"Yes, I can imagine. I think we got off on the wrong foot when we first met, Celeste. I would like to apologize."

Celeste stopped and looked at him in surprise. As far as she could tell he was being completely serious. "Um, well, apology accepted." She stumbled over her words.

"You do have a part to play in this particular arrangement. You are part of the sun and the moon curse being broken. Klaus has to use the blood of a half-angel to purify the other blood that he feeds on before he is able to break the curse." Elijah paused as he watched Celeste absorb this information. "There are other things that you do not know about yourself, Celeste. Things about your species, about your father."

Celeste ran a hand through her hair. This was a lot of information to take in at once and she was overwhelmed and sleep deprived. "Why are you telling me all this?"

"Klaus does not know you are here yet and I want to help you. Are you willing to come to an agreement with me that will help both of us out?" Celeste looked up at him and saw that he was being genuine—she could see the kindness in his eyes.

Taking a deep breath, she hoped she wouldn't regret trusting him. "Yes, I'm willing to talk about some sort of arrangement."

"Good, I'll be in touch." With a brief touch to her shoulder and whoosh of air, he was gone.

A/N: Anna.B: Thank you so much for your review! I do agree that I need to have Celeste interact with more of the characters; I'm going to try to work on that definitely. The reason I wrote Elijah as ruthless when he was first introduced is because when we first meet him in the show he does seem very ruthless and intimidating as an original. We don't really see his nicer side till a few episodes after we first meet him. Anyway, that's why I wrote him how I did. I think he and Celeste will get along and even strike up a friendship. I'm not sure if this story will progress as far as New Orleans, but we'll see!

Hope you all liked it! Please please review! Have a great day wherever you are.
