A quick, rather short update.

I want to thank everyone still following this story, even though there wasn't any mature content untill now. It wasn't the main thing I was aiming for and I'm sorry if some of you, waiting for a Kevin/OC fanfic were disapointed. It's the obvious outcome between two people that like eachother but I didn't want to jump to it right away, without going through a decent amount of moments that helped Chloe and Kevin get closer.

Hope you guys enjoy the chapter. ^^

After Dean called Kevin a dork, he wished everyone an early good night and made for his bedroom. Kevin was still sitting somewhat awkwardly near the hallway. Figuring Chloe wanted to talk to Sam about what happened with the first trial, he offered to go make coffee and left the two of them alone. Sam was still sitting in the armchair, looking completely drained. Chloe watched him for a bit before pulling a chair next to his, all the worries and fights gone from her mind. All that mattered was that they came back safely. Whatever else will follow, they'll deal with it then.

Sam watched Chloe spacing out and chuckled at her.

"I guess you wanna know what happened."

She focused her eyes on him and nodded. Sam let out a long breath and started telling her how things went. How they found the person they knew the Hellhound would come after, how they used glasses to see the thing, how Dean obviously wanted to be the one to take the trials on his shoulders, only for Sam to end up slashing the monster's stomach. One of the reasons Dean was so pissed off when they met on the road was that him and Sam already had a tone of arguments about finding another Hellhound so he could take his brother's place.

Sam was also honest to Chloe about the change he felt inside, once the trial was complete. How he felt marked by a very uncomfy energy and how he had no idea of it's evolution through the other two trials.

"We'll figure it out, Sam. I'm just glad you're ok." Chloe smiled and put a hand on his shoulder. He smiled back but it didn't last long. His face was serious and sad.

"Sam?"

"I got your point earlier when you and Dean argued…"

"But…"

"But if I could choose an option, I'd rather have you as far away from the trials as possible. It's not because you're weak and have a bigger chance of getting hurt than me and Dean. I actually feel better knowing you're there to have my back through it all, but…besides the whole closing the Gates of Hell and saving humans part, I'm also doing it to save you."

"Save me?" Chloe furrowed her eyebrows.

"Save you from a lot more dangerous cases. You're going to be a hunter for the rest of your life Chloe. But I have a chance of making your task just a bit more easier…bearable, so you can enjoy yourself just as much as you're hurting."

"Are you telling me to stay home, while you and Dean finish this?"

"I'm not telling you to stay home. There are plenty of people there that need saving. Plenty of cases to choose from. Just leave the trials to me and Dean. I can't force you not to come with us, I'm asking you not to. Please…"

"I…" Chloe wasn't sure what she wanted to say next. She could go on arguing with him just as she did with Dean, but Sam's exhausted, pleading face, made her give up on the idea. She could only imagine the burden he was carrying, how tiring and painful it will become and if she could make him feel any bit better by staying out of it…

"Okay Sam…I'll…I'll leave it up to you and Dean."

Sam's sigh of relief made Chloe realise she's doing the right thing. Somehow, she could never bring herself to refuse him regarding any matter. He was always honest with her, let her make her own choices, but pointed out how he feels about what she's planning on doing. The world needed more people like him, with equal amounts of honesty, bravery and humanity, still intact after everything that's happened.

"If there isn't a serious case to handle, I'll sit around here with Kevin, try and make out something useful of all the tablet translations."

"Thank you, Chloe" Sam grabbed her hand, that was still grasping his shoulder. His smile turned to a confused expression after. "Talking about Kevin..wasn't he just going to make some coffee? It's been a while."

Chloe chuckled. "I think he's hanging around the kitchen, giving us some time alone to talk. I'll go get him."

"Well..I'm gonna leave you guys to drink your coffees. I really need a shower, then I think I'm gonna sleep 15 hours straight."

"Sleep well, Sam" Chloe got on her tiptoes and gave him a kiss before heading to the kitchen.

She found Kevin lazily leaning on the counter while steam was rising from 3 cups of coffee next to his elbow. He was lost in his thoughts and blinked a couple of times when Chloe showed up.

"Did you make coffee to defend it from being drunk?" she asked smiling.

"Uh...no, I was…"

"I know. And thank you."

Kevin smiled a bit and nodded.

"Is Sam ok?"

"He is, at least for now. He went to bed. That leaves us 3 cups of coffee, so let's make use of them." She grabbed one from the counter and made her way back to the living room, with Kevin following her.

"Shouldn't you get some sleep too?" he asked as she was already sitting at one of the tables, reaching for her laptop.

"I'll have enough time for that, once Sam safely finishes the trials." Kevin watched her without saying anything so she went on "I …won't go with them. Sam asked me not to and I'll listen to his wish. That doesn't mean I won't do everything I can from here."

Kevin nodded "Okay, I'll bring everything I got from the tablets so far."

One hour later, they were already tired of rummaging through piles of notes, but kept going without talking too much to eachother. Chloe's vision kept getting foggy and she had to blink hard while taking sips of coffee to get it work properly. She pushed her laptop further on the table and now went through an old book about Hell and Purgatory. If Sam was going to Hell to save an innocent soul, she was going to make sure she went through every single available information. She was going to leave Purgatory to Dean to handle since he safely came back from there and…

'Dammit…' Chloe thought and rubbed her eyes, forcing her mind to wake up and pick up her trail of thoughts from where she left them. Driving for over 10 hours and having slept, maybe 8 hours, in the past 3 days, wasn't helping her in focusing on pretty much anything. The pages in front of her were already imposible to read and when she blinked again, trying to regain sight, her eyes refused to open.

Chloe sighed in relief feeling the hot water run down her face and entire body, washing away worries and exhaustion. She couldn't remember what she was previously doing that day, if she had anything to do, had to be anywhere. It didn't matter. The whole world might come to an end but she'll allow herself the luxury of relaxing for an hour. Steam was gathering so much that she could barely see the products hanging near her but she didn't have any trouble picking what she liked and swiftly placing them back in their spot.

"Chloe"

She dropped the shower gel, midway to placing it back and turned around, instinctively reaching for one of her knives on her belt. Her hand found wet, exposed skin, but no knife. 'Obviously' she thought and looked around scared, trying to figure out what just happened and if she only imagined it. If someone was walking around the marble floor she couldn't hear it, the shower covering their sounds. Swallowing hard, Chloe forced her pulse to a steady pace and watched the fog, waiting. Soon enough, someone's outline could be seen forming as they were getting closer.

"Why are you so scared?" someone asked amused and she thought it sounded like Kevin. 'But that's crazy…' and it was, because he was now close enough for her to see him clearly. He moved closer, leaving a mere 2 feet between them. He was naked and wet as if he stepped out of his own shower. Chloe was dumbstruck to see him there and mentally grateful for all the fog surrounding them. It covered most of their bodies from eachother and gave a good excuse for her flushed cheeks.

"K-Kevin..what are you doing here?"

His smile held answers she didn't think she wanted to hear, his eyes suspiciously dark under the wet strands of hair on his forehead.

"What do you mean, why I'm here? You already know, silly." He said taking another step towards her and raising one arm. Chloe watched it rise and reach out for her. She closed her eyes almost scared but soon realised he was only going for her shoulder. He made little circles with his index finger, no longer looking directly at her, but lost in his own thoughts, still smiling. She watched him close his eyes as his finger softly drew random patterns up and down her left arm. He didn't seem to be planning on doing anything else and Chloe relaxed more under his touch, less scared and stiff.

He didn't exactly answer her question and she just stood there with the water hitting her back while she tried to make sense of everything. Why was she in the bathroom with a naked prophet running his finger up and down her arm? Why hasn't she flipped him over and break his neck by now? She stopped asking herself questions when he opened his eyes and looked back at her. He wasn't smiling anymore, instead seemed thoughtful.

"Kevin?"

"Hmm?"

"You still haven't told me why you're here." He chuckled at her, shaking his head.

"You want me to be here, Chloe."

"..What? What are you talking about?"

"Chloe…you haven't done anything to push me away, even though I'm a few inches away from you, naked."

She bit her lip not knowing how to answer back to that. Kevin raised his hand to her chin and traced her cheekbone with his finger. He took a strand of wet hair and pushed it away from her shoulder, looking thoughtful again.

"Are you afraid of me?" he asked softly.

"No…" because she wasn't.

"Do you trust me?"

"I..I don't know.."

"Then let's find out" he said closing the space between them and pressing her to him. Chloe gasped, her mind spinning as Kevin's hands were now securely behind her back, stoping her from pulling away.

"Chloe…" he whispered against her ear and she grabbed his shoulders for support, her knees suddenly giving in. He was barely doing anything at all but it was enough to leave her weak and dizzy. He whispered her name again and she whimpered, burying her face in the crook of his neck. Kevin chuckled at her reaction and licked her ear before pulling away. His arms were still around her and after taking in her flushed expression, he kissed her forehead.

"Chloe…" he looked at her again and leaned forward to bring his lips just above hers. She felt their lips touch as he whispered again.

"Chloe…wake up."
