Chapter 10-Dragon's Heat
Hey guys, this is another chapter for this story. I'm sorry it took so long to write. I've been busy getting used to being back home after university. On the Brightside I passed my first year :D so happy. I hope you like it, I don't own Charmed, but Cassie is my demon :D, enjoy.
We all orbed into a street, it looked like something out of the future, there were burning cars and people running screaming in fear, "It looks like a war zone," I heard Phoebe mutter next to me.
There was a large pile of cars and other items which the dragon seemed to have picked up, the only part of the dragon which could be seen was its tail, "It's making a nest. Please let us not get any baby dragon's," I complained.
"Do you think you can steal a scale for the potion?" Piper asked Paige.
"Uh, I'll try. Scale!" Paige said holding out her hand, one of the scales from the dragon's tail orbed there, the tail shot away from us followed by a large growl, "I think he's woken up!"
The dragon roared and stood on top of the pile, "Oh now it's pissed."
"Okay, if you're sensing any fear, it would be mine. I think we should go," Paige said taking a step back.
"Wait," Piper said looking down at Wyatt.
"For what?" Paige questioned.
"Wyatt," Piper stated before handing him over to me, "Monitor his powers for me."
I nodded my head, "What are you doing?" Phoebe exclaimed.
"I don't have time to explain. Just make sure he's looking at me," Piper said running towards the dragon.
"Piper come back!" Paige yelled.
The dragon continued to roar, "Come on, you fire breathing lizard! Come and get me!" Piper said waving her arms around and getting the Dragon's attention. It took off into the air.
"Piper, are you nuts?!" Paige asked.
"Stay there!" Piper ordered.
"We have to stop her," Paige said looking at Phoebe and me as the dragon circled around.
I looked up at the dragon and back down to Wyatt. Finally figuring out what's going on, "No I understand what she's doing," The dragon began to fly down towards Piper, it opened it mouth and the flames came towards her. I felt a sudden change in power coming from Wyatt and looked down at him. He raised his arm and the dragon exploded into millions of orbing lights, the force of it pushed Piper backwards and the dragon disappeared.
"I'm okay," Piper said getting up, "I'm okay," She turned to Wyatt taking him out of my hands, "Hi, little man, you did it! I knew you could do it. Good job."
"Okay, I'm confused. What just happened?" Paige questioned.
"There is no greater power in the world than a mother, child bond. Especially when that child is Wyatt," I explained smiling at him.
Paige seemed to finally understand, "So you're saying he vanquished the Dragon and you knew he was gonna do it."
"Well, I was hoping he wouldn't want anything bad to happen to me," Piper explained.
"Okay, well, that solved that problem. Now what do we do with this mess?" Paige asked looking around.
"We'll figure it out," Phoebe said.
"No, actually, you won't," a voice said from behind us, I turned to see the cleaners standing there.
I stepped in front of Piper, protecting Wyatt the only way I could "We did what you asked us too."
"But not the exposure risk," The first cleaner argued.
"The boy," the other one explained.
"No, you can't," Paige said grabbing Piper and Phoebe's hands, Piper touched my shoulder and we orbed back into the Manor.
"We don't have much time, they're gonna follow us," Paige said quickly.
"How are we supposed to stop them?" Phoebe questioned, looking at me.
I shrugged, "We have to think of something cause we can't let them get him."
The magical lights appear in the room, "Uh, incoming," Paige said just as the cleaners appeared.
"I will not lose him," Piper yelled, as the cleaner waved his hand and Wyatt disappeared into the second cleaners hand, "No!"
I rushed forward but the cleaner waved his arm sending all of us flying backwards, "Don't worry, you won't remember any of this anyway," the cleaner said before waving his arm again and all of Wyatt's things vanished along with the cleaners.
We all began to slowly get up, Piper turned to me, "Do you remember?"
"Yep," I said slightly confused.
"The spell must have worked," Paige said.
"But not for Wyatt, he's gone," Piper said in desperation.
"Book of Shadows and scrying?" I questioned looking at the others.
Paige run up stairs to go and grab the book and the scrying equipment. Piper got up to look out the window lost in her own thoughts. Phoebe was looking through the book while Paige tried scrying. We stayed like that for a little while before Paige spoke, "Ugh, nothing, I can't find the Cleaners anywhere."
"Well, they have to exist somewhere, don't they?" Phoebe stated.
I shook my head, "Not on this plane, or in our time. The Cleaners can appear at any time. And you can't summon them."
"Maybe we should call Leo again," Paige suggested.
"I don't think he can help any more than he already has," Piper said speaking for the first time in a while.
"How did he help last time?" Paige questioned.
"Reminded me that I can do this. You know, maybe we're going about this all wrong. Maybe instead of trying to stop them, we should be trying to get them to stop us," Piper said turning around to face us.
"You lost me," Phoebe said looking confused.
I nodded realising what she was on about, "I understand! When magic is explosed they clean it up. So we should create a magical situation that makes them need to clean us up."
"What's to stop them erasing us?" Phoebe asked.
"Nothing to stop them from getting rid of me but you lot your too good," I said.
"In which case we should go and you should stay," Piper suggested.
I nodded in agreement, "Send me over to Chris so I can explain the situation. Will you?"
Paige waved her hand and I was orbed back into the club, only to find it was completely silent.
"Chris! I have an update for you!" I yelled out into the empty bar trying to see if anyone was there.
I saw Chris walk into the bar staring at me with a look of pure fear, "Cassandra?"
It took me a moment to realise why he was so scared of me. He was from the future without Wyatt, the one where I was evil, "Oh no it's Cassie."
"You haven't let me call you Cassie since..." Chris began.
"Okay I don't have time to explain all of this to you. Where the Nikki girl?" I questioned.
"Her name was Natalie and I sent her home," Chris said looking confused.
"You need to see this," I said grabbing his hand and pulling him into his room and turning on the TV. Paige was standing on the scene, "It's called magic, Kinesha. Witchcraft, specifically. I really love your...jacket!" Paige held out her hands as Kinesha's jacket orbed into them. Another random man dropped down behind Kinesha as Phoebe levitated back down.
"What the hell are they doing?!" Chris exploded at the TV.
"We need to do it for the Cleaners," I explained, then went further when Chris gave me a look, "They took something from the Charmed ones, they want it back."
"How can I trust you?" Chris asked me in disbelief.
"Look you might have different memories than me, but you must know what I am like truely," I said softly looking at him.
"We were in love," Chris whispered, "But then you changed and got evil."
"Let the object of objection become but a dream, as I cause the seen to become unseen," Piper spoke on the TV. We watched as the Golden Gate Bridge vanished, "You might wanna take an alternate route to work in the morning."
"I really should get back to the sisters at the manor," I said, "I just thought you should know what was going on."
Chris nodded his head, "You can shimmer out right?"
I shimmered over to the Manor just before Phoebe, Paige and Piper orbed in, "Hmm, not so bad, you should get out more often," Paige said to Phoebe.
Piper smiled at her sister, "Yeah, Pheebs time to come out of the basement."
"Maybe you're right," Phoebe shrugged.
Just then the cleaners appeared, "What do you think you're doing? Are you out of your mind?"
"Oh, hey, hi. Did you see our little magic act?" Piper asked sarcastically.
"How is it you still have your memories?" The second cleaner questioned looking confused.
"We have many surprises you don't know about," I said cryptically, not giving away anything.
"Yeah, and if you don't return our nephew, you might find out about just a few more," Paige finished for me.
"This is pointless. Whatever you do, we'll simple erase," The first cleaner said calmly.
"Or we'll erase you," The second cleaner threatened.
"You see you can't actually do that can you? Not if you're truly neutral that is. 'Cause if you get rid of the charmed ones you would shift the powers to evil and that just ain't allow?" I smirked at them walking forward as I knew we had caught them.
Piper stepped up next to me, "You will give me my son back, or I swear to you the only thing you'll be doing for the next fifty years is cleaning up after us."
"If we return him, how do you know you'll be able to control him?" The cleaner questioned reluctantly.
"I'm his mother. If anybody can, I can," Piper said stubbornly.
The cleaners looked at each other before waving their hands. Wyatt and his playpen appeared back in the room. Piper moved to pick him up, "Everything is as it was. We've erased all evidence of your son's magic. We'll leave him in your care," The cleaner said coldly.
"For now," The second one added.
They moved as if they were about to disappear before Phoebe spoke, "Oh, wait, one more thing, please, if you could just do me a little teensy-weensy little favour and erase the whole riot I caused in the office. You know, 'cause I don't wanna lose my job. That would really suck. Might throw off the whole balance thing because I'd be distracted, you know?"
"It's done. Good luck. Because believe me, you're going to need it," The cleaner said.
"I know your future, believe me you need luck more than us," I shot back enjoying the flicker of fear that entered the cleaners eyes before they vanished.
Phoebe moved to take Wyatt off of Piper, "Are you okay? I'm so happy to see you."
"Don't smash him," Piper ordered.
I leant back against the arm of the sofa, "Well that's one less disaster to deal with at the moment."
"You okay?" Phoebe asked turning to look at me with worry in her eyes.
"Yeah, I just need to go and make sure Chris is completely back to normal. Orb me please?" I asked Paige.
Paige waved her hand once again and I orbed into the bar, "Chris! Are you here?" I yelled out into the bar once again, praying that I would get the Chris I knew back now.
"Hi Cassie, how's the sisters?" Chris said coming out of his room, he looked the same as always, but he was relaxed around me which made me believe this is the Chris I knew.
"They're fine, everything fine. How much do you remember?" I questioned all in one breath.
"I remember you annoying Natalie and everything else is really just a blur," Chris said looking at me in confusion.
I nodded my head, "Yeah, I thought it might be. Where is the stuck up Witch anyway?"
"I sent her away. You were right earlier," Chris said smiling.
"So you admit it then?" I questioned smirking back.
"Yeah, you were right. Happy now?" Chris said.
I smiled back, "You have no idea how much."
Before he could reply Leo orbed in, "Hey."
"Hey, I didn't know you were coming here," Chris said to Leo.
"What are you still doing here, Chris? Shouldn't you be getting to know your new charge?" Leo questioned crossing his arms.
"Yeah, about that. I'm, uh, going back to what I originally said. I don't have time for her," Chris stated.
"Chris," Leo begun.
"Leo, I mean it. Cassie was right," Chris said looking over at me.
"We need to be here to protect Wyatt, not deal with the other charges. It wouldn't be fair on the sisters," I argued for Chris.
"If that's how the two of you feel about it I guess I'll reassign her," Leo
"Thank you," Chris said nodding gratefully.
We watched as Leo orbed out before I turned to Chris, "So how about another night looking for demons?" I asked heading for Chris's room.
"That sounds like a good idea," Chris said with a smile, before frowning slightly when he asked, "What was it like without Wyatt?"
I paused just before I opened up the door, "You were different, so was I."
"How different?" Chris asked coming up behind me.
"We knew each other, we were close. But I wasn't the same person I am right now, and we had no purpose," I explained softly, before opening the door and walking into Chris's room.
As we settled down readying ourselves for another night of demon hunting I couldn't help but think that maybe it was always Chris's and my destiny to meet each other. What worried me was that in that other future we had destroyed each other, all I could pray was that we didn't do that in this reality.
So that's another chapter done, please review and let me know what you think,
Until next time,
