Humiliate Him Immensely- chapter 11
Entering dinner that night we found that the Hall went quieter than normal, as everyone watched us three Transfers walk in sync to the Slytherin table. Almost immediately Severus and Regulus moved to make room for their new significant other with me to sit between them both. Looking down the table I notice Malfoy has returned from the hospital wing, attempting to play up his injuries to all that would listen. Pa-the-tic I sing in my head.
"- the bread rolls." Huh? I look over to Nico, who is staring expectantly back at me. "Would you pass the bread rolls" she repeats in her dreamy voice, as I'm brought back to reality. Nodding my head I reach over, placing a roll on Luna's plate.
"So, Renae that was quite some duelling the other night, where did you learn to do all that?" Regulus asks, while giving Snape a pointed look. This sparks my attention because over the next few months I'm almost certain that he should be getting branded a Deatheater.
"Oh, I just read lots, and then experiment a bit, nothing too fancy." Luna and Ginny scoff at my reply, which in all fairness wasn't necessarily a lie, but…
"I think that's a bit of an understatement, don't you think Phei?" turning her attention to the others, "She lives in the library, would probably sleep there if we let her." I shrug use to the association with being a bit of a bookworm.
"Well I highly doubt my brother is the right guy for you then" Regulus throws back, giving up trying to immediately find out about our training.
"Yes well, you're dating a Gryff, what would dear old mother say to that?" I drawl in a bored and sarcastic tone. Ginny kicks me under the table as Regulus just responds with a startled look.

As we leave the great hall I decide what I need most right now. Exercise. "Hey you guys go on, I'm going to fly for a little while and then go to bed, breakfast at the Ravenclaw's table?" both girls nod and leave off towards the stairs. After placing an invisibility charm over me I head out towards the Quidditch pitch. Removing the charm once I arrive at an out of sight spot I transform, stretching out my red and gold wings into my more comfortable self, a phoenix.
It's ironic how I find myself most free doing something I was so terrified of years ago, but still I fly over the forest and towards school grounds scoping the area until I notice a group of boys heading for the Whomping Willow. It's a full moon. My mind rushes through how to make wolfs bane potion and the ingredients I will need. How I will convince Lupin to take the potion? I stay out until dawn, thinking of plans to help Remus, until I know that I have to go get some form of rest. I fly back towards the pitch change into my normal self and head back towards the castle. Having rid myself of my school robe, I was wearing my school shirt with rolled up sleeves undone buttons and also my skirt.
"What are you doing out this late Miss Granger?" I whip around to see Sirius, James and Pettigrew a good fifteen yards away, I sigh as I notice all the boys stop suddenly, looking at me with large eyes.
"I could ask you the same thing, but then that would have to follow with the question, where is Lupin?" they start jogging towards me now, their eyes still roaming my features.
"We don't know what you're talking about Renae. He's asleep in his dorm." Responded James
Pettigrew piped up, a voice that had stained my memory for many years, "what happened to you?" a simple dull question that earns him a shove and nudge from the other boys. Suddenly my self-confidence plummets as I realise that I have exposed my scars for the first time. The charm only comes off when I dismiss it, a counter-charm has been cast or I turn into my Animagus form.
I pull out my wand and cast the notice me not charm across specific areas, I look at Pettigrew and shrug, pulling my robe back on I say. "I have no idea what you're talking about, now I must insist that you return to your dorm or I will inform the head girl of your monthly… visits to your dear friend whose aunt is sick" I wink turn on my heal and storm off towards the castle leaving three dumb-struck boys behind.

When the day for the Hogsmeade trip had arrived, I went and hid myself amongst numerous rows of books, settling down for some light reading. I knew this meant standing Sirius up on our date but honestly? I know he isn't me type, better to reject him before I have to humiliate him immensely. After what felt like mere minutes I felt someone walking up behind me.
"So, you don't want to go on our date today I'm guessing?" Sirius, I remember him telling me he only ever went into the library twice whilst he was a Hogwarts student, both just to research about ideas on pranks. Here I go changing history again.
"How'd you find me? The Library doesn't seem like your kind or place to be." I smirk thinking Marauder's map maybe?
He just winks and replies "I have my ways. So we don't have to go out today if this is what you really want" he says in a rather suggestive tone. I look blankly back at the attractive boy, deciding to have a little fun and maybe damage his ego.
"No I just felt like reading, you didn't let me finish the other day, I don't intend to go out with you; I know you're a player and trust me you aren't my type."
"You chose a book over me? How am I not you're type? I am Sirius Black! Even wizards want me" I just laugh and shake my head. Looking into his sparkling baby blue eyes.
"Honestly I think you're friend Remus is probably more my type. We have nothing in common Sirius, now if you will excuse me I'm going to practice my duelling... Alone!
