So sorry for the long wait. It is disappointingly short but maybe it's enough to tide over for now until I post some more? This has been revived by Crazy4Wolverine so thank you for your enthusiastic review! Much apologies for my horrible wait! (Side note: it seems I've also abandoned my supernatural fanfic since I am about to post yet another werewolf fanfic (leverage if anyone is curious) and honestly it has consumed me, but the reviews and love remind me that this one has been my success) I do not own Van Helsing.
CH 10 VH Chapter ten Van Helsing: It's getting harder.
There was blackness. A dark fog hazing the main focus. Van Helsing tried to escape the prison of the wolf's hold, but it was no use. Bones rearranging to a new animalistic form, the sounds of Carl's frantic yell of something unintelligible, and when the wolf turned it saw a woman. She was beautiful, and not in the cliché aspect of her appearance. Of course she had the looks too, but it was her posture that shone bravery against any threat, her forehead that creased in an adorable concern, and her eyes that expressed every detail of a short life that seemed like ages. The eyes also displayed a calculating gaze, as if a plan was forming and reforming to fit every new happening. The wolf was almost mesmerized by the woman. Of course, she was the one that always brought out the human. The wolf growled as it thought of its counterpart. It wanted freedom, no matter the cost.

Carl didn't trust himself again, and now he was stumbling away from the werewolf Van Helsing, as if it was again. Oh wait, it was. Carl took a mental note to trust his dreams especially if they end up like this one did. He watched Anna stand defiantly only ten feet away from the former Van Helsing. The wolf turned to face Anna, and it was strange how it looked at her. It seemed to be sizing her up, but then Carl saw the flicker of recognition in the wolf's eyes. "Maybe this won't end up as bad as thought," Carl hoped with every last fiber of his being. Then the wolf growled. Carl knew it wasn't Van Helsing that recognized Anna, it was the wolf.

Anna knew the odds. She has been in situations that seemed impossible, just like battling and defeating Dracula. But how had the wolf taken hold of Van Helsing when it wasn't even a full moon? In fact, it was only the afternoon. Everything made it seem impossible, yet here she was staring into the eyes of the beast. Anna knew her growing feelings for Van Helsing, but she was also a warrior that knew what she had to do if matters got out of control. However, it didn't mean she was always ready to make the hard decisions. This decision however, was simple. "Run!"
