Chapter 11 - Judy's Home
Nick's appearance, as he stepped off the train, frightened some, if not all of the bunnies who were gleaming around the platform to and fro. Even more frightening to them was the fact that he was holding a bunny's hand! Not just bunnies, but other animals shunned away, gave offended looks, and covered they're children's eyes from what was most obviously an inter-species couple. Judy tried her best not to pay attention to the other mammals; she kept her head down, facing the ground.
"Oh god, it's so damn hot out here!" Nick yelled as they walked along the road leading to Judy's old home. Judy didn't respond to what Nick said; she just kept walking along, fastening her pace each time she took a step.
Nick had never met her parents; he didn't know their names or what they looked like. He knew absolutely nothing about them. Like a snake slithering fast upon the ground, the images had come back to Nick. Indeed, his and Judy's "session" did help him forget about everything he saw, but it was only for the moment. He thought about how he was going to destroy this pedophile ring; trying to think of how he could even do it. A deep sigh of both exhaustion and stress emitted from Nick's mouth. They were a few feet away from the house now, and Nick, although feeling stressed and disturbed with only the pedophile ring on his mind, was nervous as hell.
Judy hurried across the yard and to the door. A familiar sense tingled in her: She missed home. The fields of many vegetables, the peacefulness which never seemed to falter. It was beauty to her. It was accepting. It was life.
She raised her paw in a clenched fist and knocked on the door three times. A noise of gentle footsteps grew closer and closer to the door. She heard the clingy noise of the door being unlocked and watched as it sprang open, revealing her mother. The familiar sense engulfed her nerves; she was home.
"Oh, Judy! What are you doing here?" Her mom asked with an excited but concerned tone.
"I just decided to visit; I'm on a week break, so I thought, 'why not go visit home?'"
Bonny smiled and hugged her daughter in a tight, welcoming embrace.
"Oh, uh, mom?"
"Yes dear?"
"I have someone here you should meet"
Bonny's smile slowly turned into a frown as Nick jogged hastily through the front yard and up to the door.
"Hello, Mrs. Hopps" Nick said, assuming she was Judy's mom.
Bonny seemed to be more nervous than him. "Hello, nice to meet you. You are...?"
Bonny said, her voice trailing off.
"Nick Wilde, I'm Judy's partner at the ZPD"
Bonny nodded and opened the door wider.
"Why don't you two come inside" she said with a smile.
Nick clenched his wound as he walked inside. "Do you all have a first aid kit I could use?" Asked Nick. "Oh sure, what for, dear?" Bonny said; she was already starting to grow comfortable with Nick. Nick moved his paw away from his arm to reveal the bullet hole in his arm. Bonny let out a gasp as Judy covered her eyes at the sight of his wound, which was already kind of infected. Bonny led Nick to the bathroom and pulled the first aid kit from a drawer. Nick took out the rubbing alcohol, tweezers, and some nylon cloth and set it on the floor. He then sat on the floor and grabbed the tweezers. Carefully, he put them up to his wound and dug them into it. He grunted in pain as he dug the tweezers deeper. Finally, he had gotten the bullet out. He grabbed the rubbing alcohol, poured it onto a cloth, and rubbed his wound. "AHH! Oh!" Nick yelled as his wound burned. He finally grabbed the nylon bandages and wrapped some of it around the wound. Once he was finished he grabbed all the utensils, put them back, put the first aid kit up, then walked out.
