Disclaimer: If I owned Castle they would be married now.

The baby was dancing, or playing martial arts or something in her body, making falling asleep impossible. After an hour of tossing and turning, and the baby moving around, Katherine Beckett was tired, and impatient. She moved closer to her husband, elbowing him softly, "Castle, hey, you awake?"

She heard him sigh as one of his eyes popped open, "How could I sleep with you constantly shifting every direction?" He asked.

She gave him a sympathetic smile, "She won't sit still." Castle hand found its way on her enlarged belly, stroking light circles. "She needs a name."

Castle shifted up into a sitting position, turning on the bedside lamp. She watched as he grabed the book on the nightstand, flipping open to a page he had marked. "Well, why don't we make a list? Our top five. We'll chose one once she is born."

She gave him a look that claimed that he may be going insane. "Now? It's two o'clock in the morning."

Castle glanced over at her, clicking his pen into action, "No time like the present. Besides, Beckett, it doesn't seem like any of us are going to get any sleep."

She exhaled deeply in thought, sucking on the inside of her cheek. "Fine. I get two picks, you get two, and we pick the last one together. Deal?"

"Deal." Castle said, nodding. She watched as he scribbled on the paper. "My first pick is Elise."

She nodded at that one, it wasn't a bad name, not a bad name at all. However, she had a different name in mind. "What about Clarissa?" She could see that Castle liked that name as well. So far they had three names down, two to go.

"Emmaline."

"Jennifer…One more. I was thinking Anne?"

Castle looked unsure at that name. The fifth one was one they totally needed to agree on, and they definitely weren't sure. He glanced at the stack of diapers and pink clothing that filled one of the corners of their room before biting his lip, trying to come up with the words to say, "I was thinking Isabelle."

They both looked off and on at one another, trying to judge what they were going to do about the final name. It dawned on them at the very same time, and they both smiled, saying in unison, "Annabelle."

"And so we have our choices." Castle said, clicking his pen shut.

She had a headache. A bad one, all day long. And now she was starting to feel dizzy. "Hey, Kate, you okay?" Castle placed his hand on her back, gentle. Kate grasped onto the countertop, trying to keep steady as she nodded.

"Yeah, I think I'm just catching something. A cold maybe." She turned around slowly, to face him, to look into his eyes. His eyes held worry. For her and for their unborn child. She leaned in, carefully hugging him, "I'm okay Castle. I promise. "

He nodded, stroking Beckett's back. When they separated, he placed a hand on her stomach, smiling lightly at it, at the place where his baby was curled inside. She smiled at him for a moment, but a moment later, her smile melted, turning into one of pain and fear. Her hand touched her side, as if trying to rid itself of the intense pain she was now feeling. He felt her posture stiffen with pain, "Kate?"

She shook her head, blinking back tears. "Something's wrong, Castle."

AN: Cliffhanger! Though I apologize because it seems to take me forever to write a chapter L I had computer problems and then well, life took over. I know this chapter sucked, but well… I don't know what to say…you probably all hate me and this fic now. *buries head in sand.*
