Chapter 11

"Believe me Papa…believe me Lord Ore, I tried. I tried my best to stop that monster but I was no match with his strength." Lydia was crying like a baby in-fact she was so much and for so long that she was almost running short of her breath. "He grabbed onto my arms and forced me down on the floor…and…and…he had me fully captured. He was inside me moving. His mouth was inside my mouth as if he was devouring me from inside."

Lydia went on with her tears this way at the dinner table seated in between her father Isaya Shouto and older than their father in age, husband Kyozaki Ore.

"I can't believe after doing all these to me, he dares, to take me to court."

"There is nothing to worry about my love." her husband consoled Lydia placing affectionate kisses on her lips and neck. Lydia too returned the affection in between her sobs playing with the man's goatee.

Veronica, who was seated on the opposite side of the table witnessed the entire scenario with utter disgust pilling up inside her stomach. To think that as a child she idolized Lydia made her disgusted with herself now. She wondered was her father and Ore-sama that blind that they were not seeing through Lydia's phoney act?

She took another look at Lydia examining her from head to toe. There is no doubt that she is beautiful. She is a pureblood but heaven's sake. But she is not the only female pureblood, there are her other sisters Miriah, Aiyora and Veronica herself included. There is also Yuki Kuran, Sara Shirabuki and quite a few others. And it is all natural for pureblood's to be beautiful. Lydia however was on a different level. Majority of the male gender would rate the pureblood females 15 on the scale of 1 to 10. But the same group would rate Lydia 35 on the same scale of 1 to 10. Yes that is how insanely beautiful she is. And its a fact that she understood quite well and not only that, for Lydia her beauty was her biggest weapon. When she used this weapon no opponent was a match for her any longer no matter how strong or powerful they were. Veronica is 100% sure she will use the same tactic to bring down the heir of the Kuran family, Kaname Kuran.

Therefore to make sure things don't go so easily for her sister; Veronica suggested Kaname to go and book Nagamachi Aidou to represent him at the court during this trial. As per knowledge in the vampire world at this current moment Nangamachi Aidou is probably the best attorney available who is specialized in dealing with matters regarding rape and sexual harassment. Therefore as long as Kaname is with Nagamachi Aidou surely he is in good hands there is nothing to worry about since nothing will stand between him to win this case.

"I cannot believe that vile Nagamachi decided to side with Kuran Kaname." Veronica looked to see her father speaking to lord Ore portraying how upset he is reguarding this matter.

"Worry not Isaya, once we win the case I will make sure to give the entire Aidou family a dose of payment for double crossing us." Lord Ore practically growled like an enraged tiger. "He will regret not taking me wife's side."

"Darling please!" Veronica watched as Lydia sensually placed her hand atop her husband's chest to soothe him. "No need to get so angry about such a small matter."

"But Lydia..." He wanted to say more but she cut him off by placing a finger upon his lips.

"Darling... Kaname Kuran have the best lawyer but I have the truth. And belive me darling this is what my mother always told me nothing this no matter how powerful a lie is it has to accept defeat when placed before truth."

Veronica could only roll her eyes at that statement. After all Veronica does not remember their mother being the wise type of woman to give advises like that.

People as in vampire of various level gathered around the headquarter of the vampire council. Today is the day that will forever be marked in the calender for the vampires. Since it is the first time a man has come to court to seek justice against a woman who he claims that has sexually tried to assault him. Yes no matter how odd it sounds this is the first time a man is claiming himself to be a victim of attempted rape by a woman. More importantly this is no ordinary man but the pureblood prince, the heir to throne, has been the victim of rape. Many found their minds wondering how is that even possible? After all which woman on earth would try to rape such a powerful being? How the heck is that even possible? To get answers to all these juicy questions is what brought all these crowd over here.

Kaname Kuran was actually the first one to reach the court accompanied by his lawyer Nangamachi Aidou, mother Juri Kuran and sister Yuki Kuran-Kiryu. However his father Haruka Kuran was no where to be seen. Thus majority concluded being the king he chose to stay neutral and as far away from this embarrassing matter as possible.

As Kaname Kuran climbed out of the car he was indeed taken aback to see that many of his friends and close subordinates were there already waiting for him to show their support. Among them present was the entire Aidou family, Takuma, his cousin Senri with his wife Rima. And to his surprise even Ruka his former fiance was present there with the current love of her life Akatsuki Kain. And of course how could he forget Veronica, because of whom he is here today...his only pillar of support and courage that he has left now. She is only person who believed in him when his own family though they do not show but still doubt him in this matter. Kaname is well aware how in the back of their head all Kuran's still believe Kaname to be at fault. Be it his father, mother or sister and his uncle Rido...let's not even go that fur.

When they walked into the court room it was ready and setup but the deference is yet to arrive. Even the judges sitting in the panel has arrived. There is a ittle difference between the human court and court for vampires. Human court consist of one judge and 6-12 members of jury. However vampire court has no jury it consist of four judges who only come from the pureblood rank. The usual members who sit onto the judge panel are Isaya Shouto- head of the Shouto family, Mikage Shirabuki- the current head of the Shirabuki family, Rido Kuran and Hachiro Hio from the Hio family. This time however the faces of judges were different as in there were some else in place of Rido Kuran and Isaya Shouto. As much as Veronica is aware, his oldest daughter being the defense Isaya Shouto decided to step down due to conflict of interest. Probably the same was Rido Kurna's reason since his nephew is involved in this case.

But little did Veronica know how wrong she was with her assumption because she received one of the biggest shock of her life when the defense walked into the court room. Veronica's mouth hung open as she watched Lydia walking in with pride and confidence glittering all over her face and accompanying her to court today was their father pureblood lord Isaya Shouto, her husband pureblood lord Kyozaki Ore and pureblood lord Rido Kuran, who apparently happens to be her attorney.

Almost everybody had the 'what the hell' look on their face including Kaname Kuran and especially Veronica. It is not every day or rather ever you see Veteran pure blood's like Rido Kuran who only sits on the judges panel steps down to lawyers for someone. Many questions filled up Veronica's mind such a what sort of stunt did Lydia pull to get someone like Rido Kuran to step down from his position and lawyer for her? How could she make someone like him even agree to do this? Nothing really made sense to Veronica's young mind. Also why would Rido Kuran fight against his own family? What is his gain by shaming his only nephew after all? None of these made sense to Veronica. Suddenly everything started to seem more complicated than she had anticipated.

"Kaname what is going on?" She asked squeezing the man's arm but looked back to see a horrified look pasted upon both Juri and Yuki's face. Though Yuki stuck around but Juri Kuran just stood up and made her exit.

The Kuran male did not answer to her question. His dark eyes just gazed down as he exhaled a sigh of defeat. He could not even bring himself to look her the young vampire seated beside her.

"Kaname why is your uncle representing my sister?" Veronica asked again this time shaking him slightly making the pureblood prince look at her with a defeated vacant look in his wine eyes. No words come out of his mouth no matter how hard he tries. What was he going to tell her? The conflict between the Kuran brothers started long before before she was even born. It all started with his mother Juri choosing his father over Rido and till to this day Rido snatches every chance to seek revenge on his siblings and this by far probably has to be the best one. What scares Kaname the most is that now he knows Rido will not stop till he complete destroys the Kuran's families honor, his honor, his parents honor. At this point he is highly doubtful that the Kuran family can still stand tall as the royal family once this case closes. Probably not, most definitely will not!

Getting no response from Kaname Veroncia focused her attention on their lawyer but only to have him crush her hope further more.

"Forgive me Kaname-sama, but we've lost the case." Nagamichi Aidou declared and Kaname gave him a cold glare as if he did not already know. "there is no way anyone can win against Rido Kuran-sama."

"I cannot agree with you Lord Aidou because you may not be able to win against Rido Kuran but truth always wins. This is how it has been and will forever be."

Both the males looked at her with shocked written all over their faces. For Kaname Kuran it was indeed a surprising sight to see how much she believed in him now considering how she thought of him as monster years prior. How has she come to trust him so much he knows not but somehow the thought of her absolute faith in him, was more than enough to make his heart flutter? But now what mattered most was will he be able to keep up to her expectancy? Will he be able to win this case, prove his innocence to the world and win her heart at the same time? Or will he lose the case and everything along with it...including her, Veronica?

He gave a question look at Veronica but only to have her respond back with a smile. A smile that told him 'everything will be alright!'

Her positivism is what brought determination inside him. Determination to win! And for some reason his heart deep inside believes as long as she is beside him he will not lose because she, Veronica will not let him lose.

"Let's do this Aidou-san." The pureblood prince finally spoke secretly entwining his hand with the younger female. "There would not be a chance for us to win unless we try." He felt Veronica's grip on his hand tightening. It is her way of telling him everything will be alright. Well he knows everything will be alright for him as long as she is with him. And that little squeeze of her hand tells him that she is with him.
