"Rebekah?"

"Ashlie." As I went to step closer, Elena hand shot out and gripped my arm. Looking back, I could see fear overtake Elena's eyes as they widen considerably. Giving her a small smile, I took a step back behind Elena with my eyes on Rebekah.

"Rebekah, what are you doing here? Why is Elena here? What the hell is going on?" At first she continued to stare at me, but slowly she turned towards Elena. Her eyes turned darker.

"Ask her." She pointed at Elena, who shrunk back against the wall next to me. Rebekah crept closer to Elena, a smirk was placed on her face.

"What's going on!" My voice shook but neither notice. Elena and Rebekah was stood staring at each other.

"Nothing to worry about, Ashlie." Rolling my eyes, I couldn't believe it. Yet again, Elena was trying to 'protect' me. I knew a lot more about the supernatural. After all, I spent quite a few years with a vampire who was over a 1000 years old.

"What? What do you mean 'nothing to worry about, Ashlie'. Of course I need to worry about it, Elena. You're my cousin and it is my job to protect the family I have left. So please tell me what is going on. Is it about the vampire family issue?" I made sure to put emphasis on the 'vampire family issue' to get my point across.

"I know, Ashlie. Yeah it is about that." Nodding my head, I glanced back at Rebekah. Turning my attention, I mouthed 'when you get the chance, run!' and with the look Elena was giving, I guessed she didn't understood it.

"Don't try to run, Elena. I will kill you."

"What about me, Rebekah? If I ran, would you kill me?"

"You were never part of the plan. Elijah was meant to bring Elena here. Alone."

"Yeah, well, I notice something was up so I followed Elijah and Elena. Trust me I know Elijah, when someone betrays, he's not very happy about it. But that doesn't mean you can kill her. Yeah she should have told him but this," I guestured around us, "is not necessary."

"What would you know? Huh? You weren't the one who was stabbed in the back by the so called sweet, innocent little Elena, were you?"Frowning I looked towards my cousin, but found her looking away.

"It doesn't matter what happened then. Forget about the past, Rebekah."

"You know, Ashlie, I'm sure your cousin would love take you away from me or even you get her away from me. After all, I'm the one who does all the mean things. But let me tell you, If you allow Elena to escape, I will not hesitate to kill you."

There was a pause. Nobody spoke and I could feel Elena start to take deep breathes, calming herself. I knew she was scared. When your up against one of the oldest vampires you tend to tremble. I knew what it was like when I met the rest of Elijah's family.

After what seem like forever, Rebekah finally turned to face Elena. At first it was difficult to see what she had in her hand due to the darkness, but after looking more closely, I detected a phone.

"Alright love, look into the camera."

"What are you doing?" Elena's voice trembled as she spoke. Reaching down, I searched for Elena's hand. She needed comfort so I squeezed her hand and glanced towards the camera.

"Shooting a picture to inspire your boyfriends. Why don't you tell them how delightful it is being stuck in a hole with your biggest fan and with your poor little cousin."

"I guess you think I had this coming, huh?"

"Elena! You not thinking straight. Be quiet, please. Rebekah, don't resort to this. Please. It's pathetic to threaten others." I could feel tears springing to my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. How could they do this! Elijah, how could he be a part of this! Yes she should have told him, but doesn't deserve to die. I hope that Elijah has a reasonably explanation otherwise I will not be happy, and he doesn't like it when I am angry.

"Be quiet!" Rebekah's voice was cold and suddenly I imagined myself being on the receiving end of her anger. Fighting back the retort, I crammed my mouth shut and clenched my fists.

"After what I did to you." Elena's voice drifted around the room.

"You know, I don't know what I want more, to find out we're safe or to find out it's all right to kill you. Both."

"No!" Rebekah and Elena snapped their heads to face me, and slowly Rebekah's eyes glared into mine. Her smirk was gone.

"You know, I'm getting real tired of your constant disruptions. So be quiet or I'll snap your pretty little neck."

"Enough. This isn't my fault. I wanted to get rid of Klaus. At one point, so did you. I didn't know your mother was planning on killing you. And leave Ashlie out of this. Stop threatening her."

"Do you think I wanna spend what could be the last hours of my life having ideal chitchat with a girl who literally stabbed me in the back and a girl who is very annoying?" I glared at the last part of her question.

"Of course not."

"Wow, no wonder she stabbed her in the back. Total bitch." Of course, at that particular moment I wasn't aware that I had said the sentence aloud until I was slammed against the wall with Rebekah's hand tightly wrapped around my throat. As I tried to breathe, my throat throbbed and the pain flooded me.

"Please. Stop. Rebekah, don't kill her. Take your anger out of me not her."

"What's the point in that? Hurting your little cousin is my only source of entertainment."

"Please... Wait. You can't kill her. What would Elijah say when he finds out that you almost kill his... killed his love?"

"Don't go there. He wouldn't pick a scrawny little human over his only little sister." Despite her anger, she eventually let go, after giving one hard squeeze.

My throat hurt as air continued to make their way into my lungs. After wincing for ages, I slowly took deep breathes, ignoring the lingering pain. My eyes watered, but I was still able to focus my attention on Rebekah. For a couple of seconds, I stared. Wondering what happened to her to dislike me so much. I haven't done anything to her. Only a few days ago, she was kind enough to allow me to use her make-up. To me that meant a lot seeing as I also thought she was the kind of person who doesn't like to share. Of course, she was a little unkind at first but she still allowed me to use her make-up.

"What... *cough* happened to you, Rebekah? I thought you were kind." For a tiny moment, a small hint of hurt flashed across her face, but then it was gone.

"You don't know anything about me." Rebekah appeared in front of me, her eyes yet again dark.

"Sorry," I murmured. Elena's hand once again was gripping my arm, this time I acknowledged the gesture and stayed where I was. To be honest, I really didn't want to die.

"Honestly, for some some reason everybody want to bend over backwards to save your life." Her voice started to rise.

"Which is incredibly annoying, but make you the perfect hostage." She stepped closer, each step making us both nervous.

"So why don't you both sit down and shut up before I ruin everything by ripping your heads off." Slowly, I moved back. My back hit the wall, I couldn't help but sigh. I really wished that I didn't follow Elijah here. Looking to the side, Elena was hesitant at first, but keeping an eye on Rebekah she sat down on a stone.

Taking a deep breathe, I sat next to Elena.

"How are you doing?" I turned my head to face Elena. She had her hands in her lap, while I leant against the wall, both legs were pulled up towards my chest. Shrugging my shoulders, I rested my head on a stone.

"Okay, I really wished Elijah was here. Well I guess that my plans for tonight are scrapped."

"Where was you going?"

"Well I was supposed to go out with Elijah. He was taking me to dinner." I sighed. I was looking forward to tonight. I love spending time with him. It was good to feel doted on constantly in one night.

"Oh. What are you going to do when we leave? What are you going to do with Elijah?" I smirked slightly as she put emphasis on when. No if. I'm glad she was optimistic about leaving here.

"I don't honestly know. Actually I do know that no matter what he does, I still love him. He helped me recover from everything that has happened to me. I can't lose him. I need him. But trust me, he will not walk away from this unscathed." I gave a small smile as I imagined all the possible punishments for him.

"Please. Enough with all the lovey dovey. It's sickening." Hearing her voice, I shook my head. Not giving into her childish behaviour, I simply ignored her and continued my conversation with Elena.

Before I could ask anything, I heard a gasp. Rolling my eyes, I turned my head to find Rebekah to be in pain. What the hell? As her skin turned grey, I suddenly remembered about the pain. NO! Elijah!

"Come on, Ashlie."

However, I couldn't move. My mind was in a state of worry as the image of Elijah being hurt appeared in my mind. What if he was dead? I couldn't bare it if he was. Hoping that it wasn't permanent even if I wanted Rebekah and Klaus gone, we needed to stop this from hurting him. Now!

Deciding to follow Elena, I spun around to find nobody behind me. Where was Elena? I took off in the direction, which I hoped was the correct way. After a few seconds, something gripped my neck. Unable to scream, I struggled against the bonds. For a moment, my mind flashed to Elijah. Why wasn't he here? Didn't he know what his sister was like?

"Please stop." Rebekah's voice was quiet. I couldn't help but shiver from fear. I nodded my head. A yank on my arm brought me face-to-face with Rebekah. Her smirk was turned into a sneer.

"You can't hide, Elena." She pulled me to another tunnel. The further we went, the more fear rose inside of me.

"Not sure why I'm under the weather. Must be your boys trying to find a loophole."

"I wonder where your cousin is, Elena. I'm sure she would be fun to play with."

"But it wont matter. I could chase you down on my worst day." She grabbed my wait, and like that, we were elsewhere. Throwing me to the side, I narrowly missed a stone which was sticking out from the wall.

"Run Elena!"

"Ashlie!" Yet again, she ran while grabbing on the way passed me.

After throwing me to the side which I did hit a stone. A hand immediately went to my forehead. Blood dripped down my face and covered my fingers. I wiped the excess blood with the back of my hand.

Looking up, I was confused. I didn't know where I was. Around me was candles, and in the middle was a dark red coffin, was this what the Original witch was in?

"Boo." Rebekah grabbed Elena around the waist.

"No. Elena!" My voice was quiet.

As I tried to get up from the floor, I could see Elena whack her head backwards against Rebekah's chin. As she moved away from Rebekah, I could feel myself getting dizzy. I needed to get out of there and fast. My head throbbed, my eyes blurred, but I knew I also needed to stay awake.

"You little bitch." As Rebekah went to go after Elena, she was suddenly forced to stop. She couldn't enter. For once I was glad she was a vampire because otherwise Elena would have been dead.

Looking towards Elena, I could things begin to darken at the edges. No! No! I can't. However, fate had other plans and within seconds I was laying on the floor, passed out.

"Ashlie, please. Wake up. Oh god. Please wake up." I could hear a familiar voice faintly.

I tried to move, but it seemed I couldn't. Taking a few moments to collect myself mentally, I once again tried to move my fingers. Thankfully a finger twitch. I could feel a pressure on my hand. Elena, maybe? Or was it somebody else. I knew it was Elena's voice I heard earlier, but maybe somebody else was here.

Taking in more surroundings, even though I was unable to see anything, I could feel a lingering warmth. Also I could feel a searing pain which I was not able to make go away. All I remembered was hitting my head when Rebekah hit me then it was lights out.

"So, Elena, how does it feel to know that these may be your last moments?"

"I don't know, you tell me. First you threaten my cousin, then you throw her against a stone. Anyway, you're the one whose mother is trying to kill you."

"You should be very careful what you say to me, Elena. After all, your little cousin is fragile at the moment and she can't even put up at fight."

"You're still wearing her neck-."

Once again, I could feel myself fading into darkness.

I was jostled awake by a familiar pair of strong arms wrapping themselves around my body. My eyes fluttered to find Elijah, eyes filled with concern and his mouth moving. I was still out of it to comprehend what he was saying but I did saw the 'I love you' his mouthed to me.

"Elijah." My throat burned and my head throbbed. But in that moment I knew I was going to be okay. Later I will celebrate the fact that he was still alive and lecture him about earlier today but for the moment I was rejoicing in the comforts of his arms.
