Welcome to The Mushroom Kingdom!
The Metal Bird is shown zooming across the various stars and cosmos. Inside, Red is shown to be completely focused on driving the ship.
"Again Red, I have to compliment you on your skill to flying this thing." Said Green. "This your first time driving anything now that I think about it."
"It's the instructions Emma made for this thing, they really work." Said Red. "Not going to lie though, we have been flying for a while now."
"He's right. We can only stay in this ship for so long without getting cabin fever." Said Blue. "Have you found anything remotely solid to land on?"
"Just meteors." Said Red.
"Sigh. The least Emma should of done was add some sort of GPS." Said Blue.
"How would she know what's out here? She's probably never left her world, just like us...until now that is." Said Green.
"And she just assumes we know where we're going? None of us have ever been out to space before, how are we supposed to know where anything out here is?" Asked Blue, losing a bit of patience.
"Hm?" Asked Red. "That's curious." Said Red.
"What?" Asked both Blue and Green.
In front of them is shown to be what seems to be a giant mushroom with a red top and white dots. The mushroom is shown to have small, black beady eyes. On top of the mushroom is shown to be a castle, with stained glass depicting what seems to be a princess.
"That is curious." Said Green.
"You think that this could be one of the worlds Emma was talking about?" Asked Red.
"Don't be ridiculous, this thing doesn't even closely resemble a normal looking planet." Said Blue.
"Still, it's the only solid thing aside from a meteor we've encountered since we left Adlehyde. It should be worth checking out." Said Green. "Fly us in,
Red."
"Right." Said Red. He places his foot on the gas and steers towards the weird mushroom/castle and as they get closer, a vortex begins to shroud the ship.
"What the?" Asked Red.
"What's going on!?" Asked Blue.
"Is this...Is this a storm?" Asked Green.
The Metal Bird encounters some turbulence as it flies through the vortex. The three Dex Holders are struggling to stay in their seats as the vortex rolls past them.
"This isn't good. We can't stay in this thing much more!" Said Red.
The vortex passes, and above them is a clear blue, below a sea of clouds.
"Huh?" All three of them ask, looking at the scene that had just befell them.
"Are...Are we in the atmosphere?" Asked Blue.
"So, there is more to these worlds than just an outer shell." Said Green.
"Seems so." Said Red. "I'm going to see if I can land somewhere."
"Good." Said Blue. "I was getting kind of sick being cramped in here."
Red descends the Metal Bird below the sea of clouds, the clouds shift out of the way as the Metal Bird makes it's way downward.
"Woah." Said the three Dex Holders in unison. Below them are a series of mushroom shaped structures of various colors, mostly just red and white though. In the far end of the village is shown to be a small castle with a red tile roof. Near the top of the front is once again a stain glass portrait of some type of princess. Outside the village is nothing but woodlands and forestry.
"This seems to be such a small world." Said Red.
"No doubt there's more to it than this though." Said Green. "For all we know, this could be it's own planet!"
"What's with the mushroom vibes this place has going for it?" Asked Blue.
"I'm sure there's an explanation. For now let's just try to find a spot to land." Said Green.
"Right." Said Red. He sees an opening in one of the forested areas and slowly begins to descend.
The Metal Bird slowly but surely descends and lands on the ground. The blue glass vizor opens and slowly but surely Red, Blue and Green get out.
"Finally, fresh air and a chance to stretch." Said Blue.
"Tell me about it." Said Red.
"We should head north." Said Green. "That's where that civilization was if I saw correctly."
"Right." Said Red.
"Wait a minute? How do we know these guys aren't hostile?" Asked Blue.
"They have a village, not to mention a monarch, I think that's pretty civilized." Said Green.
"They had villages and monarchs back in the Middle Ages in our world, those people were far from being civilized." Said Blue.
"I'm going to give these guys the benefit of a doubt." Said Green.
"Come on Blue, you're usually a lot more confident than this." Said Red.
"In case you haven't noticed, we're in unfamiliar territory. I think I have some right to be a little nervous." Said Blue.
"You have a point. But then again, stop to listen to some of the wild life around here." Said Red.
They all remain quiet and listen, sounds of birds and supposed woodland like creatures are heard all around.
"I'm getting nothing more but peaceful vibes here." Said Red.
"Red, this is a forest. I'm talking about the people." Said Blue.
"Don't you think the animals would be a bit more hostile if the people here were more hostile?" Asked Red.
"He does have a point, animals do tend to be a bit more agressive if humans or in this case, humanoid creatures treat said animals with contempt." Said Green.
"I...I guess. OK, you guys win." Said Blue.
"Now that that's settled, northward bound!" Said Green.
The other two Dex Holders nod their heads and begin to walk in the northern direction.
Meanwhile in a faraway land, filled to the brim with volcanoes, lava, and dark clouds covering the sky, we see a large castle in the distance. It's made of black bricks, and some of the windows give off a red glow. We go to the interior of the castle, and enter into a large throne room, being marked by a red carpet. On the throne sits the same turtle like creature from the meeting in that dark castle back in another world. In front of him is none other than Ganondorf, showing him some type of projection showing Red, Blue, and Green's arrival.
"Just as I suspected, they have invaded your land first, King Bowser." Said Ganondorf.
"Bah. What rotten luck..." Said Bowser, turning his head and looking out a window.
"Hm? Not feeling confident in your abilities?" Asked Ganondorf.
"What rotten luck that those miserable meat sacks won't be leaving this place alive." Said Bowser, smirking.
"So, you think you can handle the power of the Keyblade?" Asked Ganondorf.
"Like I'm afraid of something used to unlock doors." Said Bowser confidently. "Especially since the Heartless seem to be completely under our control."
Bowser waves his hand, and a couple of black colored mushroom shaped Heartless appear bearing the red emblem, as well as a couple of Heartless resembling anthropomorphic turtles with the same black color scheme as the mushroom heartless, bearing the same emblem. Both mushroom and turtle Heartless are shown with yellow eyes.
"You should be careful not to over indulge in your newly given powers. Given the opportunity, they will turn on you." Warned Ganondorf.
"Ganon, buddy, pal. You worry too much. No wimpy Heartless is going to do me in, nor is any kid weilding a stupid key!" Said Bowser. "I swear, this world is as good as mine!"
"Hm. If you say so." Said Ganondorf. "Good luck." Ganondorf is then shrouded by a black orb. The orb dissolves and Ganondorf is no longer there.
"Heh heh heh. Well, what are you guys hiding for? Let's play the welcoming commitee!" Yelled Bowser.
A couple of dozen more Heartless show up in the room at that moment. Bowser smirks menacingly while laughing to himself.
Meanwhile, back at the 3 Dex Holders, they are still walking in the forest area.
"How far until we reach civilization?" Asked Red.
"It shouldn't be to far now...There!" Said Green.
At the end of the forest trail is an exit marked by sunlight. The three Dex Holders run towards the exit, and end up in some type of hill. Down the hill is the small village, behind the village is the castle.
"We're almost there, come on!" Said Green.
The three Dex Holders run down towards the village, and eventually reach the gates. The gates open on arrival and they walk in to what seems to be the main square.
"What?" Asked Blue.
"The?" Asked Red.
"Hey!" Yelled out what seems to be a small humanoid creature. The humanoid seems to be male in nature, and is shown with a white mushroom with red dots on his head. He is wearing a blue jacket, and baggy white pants and brown shoes. His voice almost seems child like in tone.
"You guys are seeing this too right?" Asked Red.
"Almost all of these guys have mushrooms growing on their heads!" Said Blue.
"I...I...I really don't know what to make of this." Said Green.
"What's the matter, it's almost like you've never seen a Toad before." Said the mushroom headed creature, referring to himself as a Toad.
"Toad?" Asked all 3 Dex Holders.
"Uh huh. That's the name of our people, we have a nice community among here where everyone seems happy. Peace is at an all time high here in the good ol' Mushroom Kingdom." Said the Toad.
"Mushroom Kingdom?" Asked Red.
"Run by our benevolent Princess Peach. So, what are your names, strangers?" Asked the Toad.
"My name is Red." Said Red, introducing himself. "These two are Green and Blue. I'm sorry, did you say Princess?"
"Uh huh. Princess Peach, probably the nicest lady you will ever meet. Beautiful too." Said the Toad.
"You guys have it made here, don't you?" Asked Red.
"Yup, it's great, the land couldn't be in any better shape." Said the Toad.
"Doesn't seem like there's any sort of trouble here? Should we leave?" Whispered Red.
"No! No! I am not going back into that crammed ship so soon!" Whispered Blue.
"A hotel would be nice, I mean we did just get here after all." Said Green.
"A hotel you say. Unfortunately we don't have one of those here. We do however have an inn at the east end of town." Said the Toad.
"Thank you." Said Red.
"No problem. Have a nice day!" Said the Toad, who then proceeds to run off.
"Despite the fact that they're all humanoid fungi, they all seem to be nice people." Said Blue.
"Tell me about it, this entire village is giving off a happy and relaxing vibe." Said Red.
"Don't believe in everything the people tell you here." Cried out a voice.
From the shadows comes a small turtle like creature, with yellow skin, a green shell, and red shoes. He is shown standing on his legs.
"What the!? A talking turtle!?" Asked Red.
"Turtle? I'm a Koopa." Said the turtle, or Koopa.
"Koopa. Sheesh, the mushroom people are called Toads, and apparently turtles are called Koopas, this is going to take some getting used to." Said Blue.
"Princess Peach isn't the only so called top dog this kingdom has. What these people forgot to mention is that there is a second monarch that dwells these lands." Said the Koopa.
"Interesting, care to give a clue on who this monarch is?" Asked Green.
"His name is Bowser. King of the Koopa clan. I hope for your sake that you will never meet him." Said the Koopa.
"So, you serve this Bowser character?" Asked Red.
"Used to, I disbanded a while back, I just couldn't stand being under his ruthless power any longer." Said the Koopa.
"Ruthless?" Asked Blue.
"For many years now, Bowser and the Koopa clan have been trying to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom, and almost succeeded a couple of times too." Said the Koopa.
"However, whenever it seems he has complete and total victory, those two heroes come from out of nowhere and foil his plans at the last second."
"Those two?" Asked Red. "Who?"
"You'll know them when you see them." Said the Koopa. "As for Bowser, there's someone I sincerely hope you never cross paths with." Said the Koopa. "It's been fun, but I got stuff to do, see you around." The Koopa walks off into some other part of town.
"H-hey! Wait a minute." Said Red.
The Koopa just walks on.
"Well, that was something. So, how about that inn the Toad mentioned?" Asked Blue.
"I'm thinking the exact same thing. Red, you coming?" Asked Green.
"Yeah..." Said Red. He goes ahead and walks ahead, Blue and Green walking behind.
"So there's Princess Peach, and King Bowser, who are the other two?" Thought Red to himself.
"Red, is something on your mind?" Asked Blue.
"Eh? Oh, it's nothing. I'm fine, believe me." Said Red.
"Are you sure?" Asked Blue.
Red simply smiles and nods.
"If you say so." Said Blue.
The three Dex Holders continue to walk up the streets of the village, heading towards the inn that the Toad mentioned.
Comments: And thus completes chapter 11 of this story. Princess Peach and Bowser are the established rulers in this land, and I know for a fact you guys know who those two other guys are, so I ain't even going to bother asking. Bowser seems to have gained the ability to control the Heartless, or may have already had it before Red and company even came into the picture.
