I hope this is ok...let me know what you think :) I'll try and update sooner next time but there's no
Eddie practically galloped down the corridor as he rounded the next corner with a skid, grabbing on to the wall to aid him in the right direction. Looking back over his shoulder Eddie sighed as his pace quickened up the stairs and towards his classroom, frantically looking for his gun. His had gone flying as he rounded that last corner and had broken into pieces; thankfully.
Pulling and throwing his draws of his desk as he searched through the papers. Groaning as he continued to hear the footsteps still thundering down towards his classroom him quickly and shakily sorted his gun as a bullet just missed his head and headed for the window, smashing it to pieces. Turning he quickly fired his as he stepped closer with each shot, piercing holes into the other window. The sounds of the distance screaming reaching his ears.
Kicking the gun out of the man who had a really bad shot he continued to fight him, the clatter of metal and glass against gravel heard as punches and kicks were thrown in different directions. Bruises and cuts already clear as Eddie fought with the pain in his arm from the slash earlier.
Rachel's vision was still fuzzy as she felt slightly numb with the rest of her body but could still feel the tight grip of someone throwing her face forward into the wall and the tight clench of handcuffs being put around her wrists. Groaning as she felt hot and sticky liquid running down her face she tried to push herself away from Paul but failed as he grabbed her roughly by her arm and pulled her so his mouth was right next to her ear.
"The drug should wear off in oooo a few seconds," and just as he finished his sentence Rachel's vision came back and the numbness left but a headache had already begun to form. Yup she definitely had cut her head.
"Handcuffs. Very original," Rachel commented sarcastically as she tugged slightly with her wrists," and drugs. You're not setting a very good example for the children."
"Stop with the smart arse comments," Paul sneered into her ear as he tugged her head closer by her hair, but all Rachel did was smirk.
"You really don't know me do you? What are you going to do? You going to kill me? You were planning on doing that anyway so I may as well say what I want," Rachel smiled in satisfaction as Paul growled and dragged her out of the office and slamming her back first into the wall next to the stairs her gun digging in to stomach slightly but that was giving her reassurance," I wish I had a microphone to be honest. Wouldn't mind being killed whilst singing," Rachel said amusedly as she scrunched her forehead up in thought," maybe not. That's more of Matt's thing."
"Would you just shut up already?!" He nearly screamed as Rachel laughed to herself. Regretting it soon later as she was pushed roughly down the stairs with a few punches and kicks to her body and then dragged down the corridor with the occasional push into the wall. The pair coming to a stop just in front of the entrance. The faint outline of the pair just seen through the meshed glass of the door.
"GUNS AT THE READY!" Paul could here Peter shout but only gave Rachel a coy smile before kicking her forcefully through the door. The glass flying everywhere as Rachel fell to the ground after having gone through the wood. The screams of the teenagers and covered mouths of teachers filling her eye line as she picked herself up and said loudly trying to change the atmosphere although she could see Pete's worried face and the feel of pain searing through her body.
"Oh and I liked that door!" Pete chuckled despite himself. Trust Rachel to smile in the face of adversity. Rachel on the other hand was now being flung down the concrete steps because of the comment.
"DON'T SHOOT OR SHE GETS IT!" Paul screamed as Pete obeyed. He watched on helplessly as Rachel was dragged by her hair to face the audience and then forced down on to her knees, them hitting the ground hard as she winced. Looking up at Peter she smiled and then looked past him at the audience and winked cheekily as she felt the point of a gun pressing in to the crown of her head.
Pete observed Rachel. This was the worst he had ever seen her during or even after an assignment. Rachel's hair looked as if it had been dragged through a hedge backwards multiple times, blood and sweat matting it, her breathing was heavy and shallow indicating a few broken ribs a few bruises appearing on her arms. There was a cut running across her forehead, a bruised cheek was obvious, including her cut lip and bloody nose. Pete dreaded seeing the damage that had been done underneath the clothing once this was over and he did the medical check. Rachel's clothes weren't too bad a state, but a few rips and holes that were clear from being caught in doors and the glass. The black shirt had been ripped open revealing her white vest top that had blood staining it badly. He was surprised that she was still conscious.
"Any last words Rachel?" Paul questioned as she kept the smirk on her face. Rachel was going to wind him up if it was the last thing she did but she had a plan. So she started humming Bring Me Sunshine. Her hums were deafened by the Eddie screaming down at her from his position hanging out of the window.
"Rach I need some help!" He shouted as he face the man pointing a gun at him.
"I would love to Eddie but I'm a bit tied up at the minute! Hang on!" She shouted back as she begun to get ready for her plan.
"I wasn't planning on letting go!" Eddie screamed back as he desperately clung on to the window ledge the audience wide eyed. Too horror struck to even speak.
Rachel took a deep breath, but still hummed as she swept her legs, catching Paul's causing him to fall as she brought legs in front of her and quickly got up, kicking Paul in the gut for good measure. Taking a deep breath her back to the audience she successfully jumped through her handcuffs so her hands were now in front of her. Grabbing her gun quickly she put her foot to Paul's neck and applied some pressure. Turning up to see Eddie still dangling from the window she brought the gun up and shot at the man in the window. Rachel was surprised that Eddie hadn't been shot yet. The man came tumbling past Eddie out of the window as he clutched at his stomach, hitting the ground hard as Rachel winced at the sight. Ignoring the screams of the teenagers she turned back to Paul as Eddie climbed back in to the window. No one knew about the last man on top of the roof until it was too late.
"I should kill you now," said Rachel as she applied more pressure to his throat and turned her gun to point at him directly in-between his eyes.
"Why don't you?" He croaked out as he attempted to move his arms but the lack of oxygen making it impossible.
"Unless someone is in danger I don't kill," she explained but applied more pressure to try and shut him up.
"And what's to say you're not," he smirked as he saw a bullet enter Rachel's side and into her abdomen, her body jerking to the side slightly. But the shot had caused Rachel to shoot Paul, his eyes rolling back immediately as blood poured out of his wound. Rachel fell on to the floor clutching at her side as she faced the roof and could see a man in black getting ready to make his escape. Raising her hand that held the gun she shakily pointed and aimed it at the roof, shooting a few lazy shots before her hand fell limp by her side. The man on the roof now clutching his leg as he fell to the floor. SWAT immediately moved in as Pete rushed up to Rachel; in the distance seeing Eddie sprint towards them.
Rachel lay helplessly on the floor as Pete took her shirt and his jacket off and pressed it to the wound. He kept his eye on Rachel's face as she weakly looked at the audience that had become her pupils and staff in the past couple of weeks, a few tears falling from her eyes. Their eyes were filled with tears and shock as they watched on. Eddie came shouting over.
"Rach!" Peter watched as she turned her face to his and smiled as Eddie came, dragging Tom, Matt and Jasmine with him, "there's a first aid kit in my car. Peter here's the keys and hurry up!" He said in a panic as he tossed his keys and took over from Peter holding on to the shirt and jacket.
Now for the first time noticing the extent of her damages, tears streaming down his face. Jasmine had gone and had Rachel's head in her lap as Tom held her hand. The material in his hand now soaked red with blood, it wasn't stopping, he needed more. Taking it off for a second he winced before quickly ripping the part of her vest were the wound was so he could get to all the wound. "Hold this for me Tom," Eddie instructed as Tom took over from Eddie who quickly took his white shirt off and pressing it above Tom's hand. Tom taking his hand away.
"PETER HURRY UP!" Eddie shouted as Pete came rushing back over a few bags in his hands before dumping them by Rachel's side.
"Rach keep talking, love," Peter instructed as Eddie tried to keep calm, "talk to her," he nudged Eddie as he got everything they needed to fix her up.
"What have you gotten yourself into?" Eddie whispered softly as he kept his hand on the material.
"You go and speak to her properly. I've got extra help," Peter said as he nodded to his assistant who was trying to now stop the blood. Eddie nodded his head numbly and went to lie on the floor next to her so his face was mere centimetres away from hers. Jasmine and Tom watched on in interest as Tom was instructed to clean the cuts on her arms as Jasmine kept her head still.
"My job," was Rachel's reply to Eddie's question despite the brief interruption.
"Why do you always end up the worst?" He asked more angry at himself than anybody else.
"I don't...most of the time," Rachel smirked as Eddie rolled his eyes and nodded his head. Taking hold of her hand that was now by his side he held on to it lightly as he watched Rachel wince in pain every now and again.
"The ambulance is on it's way but Peter's doing a good job at stitching you up," Eddie explained to her as she nodded her head. Staring off into the distance for a few seconds before she turned her head back to Eddie tears starting to fall.
"I've killed people today, Eddie and that's all I can think about is that I could still die," she whispered at him as Eddie shook his head in denial.
"You were looking after the people in this school, Rach. And you're not going to die," Eddie whispered back, the only thing betraying him was the slight hitch in his voice. Tom and Jasmine tried to stay as much out of the conversation as they could.
"I could."
"You're not going to," he said determinedly. The teens and staff had been pushed back a bit more, but they could only see Eddie's bare back and Peter trying to work.
"Won't be as bad as taking my top off in front of the school," she chuckled weakly as she finally noticed Eddie's state of undress.
"Part of your top if already off," he winked as Rachel rolled her eyes, her expression becoming serious again.
"I love you," she whispered as Tom's and Jasmine's eyes widened and very nearly popped out of their sockets at that confession.
"Love you too," Eddie returned as he gave Rachel a lingering kiss to the side of her mouth, Tom and Jasmine sharing a look that could only be described as what the hell just happened? They turned to Peter who had finished stitching and was watching the scene in front of him but he only shrugged his shoulders and smiled. Eddie pulled back to see Rachel's eyes were closed and that she wasn't responding to him.
"No Rach don't die! Don't die! Don't you dare die Mason!" Eddie all but sobbed at her as Peter checked her pulse and all but sighed with relief as the ambulance came rolling in.
"Please don't die," he whispered finally as the ambulance door closed in front of him, leaving a broken man behind.
