So I found this on my desktop and thought I would post it. I still want to continue this story but I am struggling with motivation and ideas for it. It seems to be mostly about Lisa in this chapter and I promise I will add more focus to other characters in the next chapter.

Lisa fiddled with her sleeve nervously as she waited for her sister's plain to de-board. She glanced at her watch and looked around. Her husband had disappeared ten minutes ago to get the two of them coffee and had yet to return. A flood of people walked out of the terminal and Lisa looked around in search of her sister.

Lidia finally appeared dressed in a long yellow skirt and a green tank top, "Lisa!" She called out rushing to meet her sister.

Lisa smiled and stood up. The two woman embraced and both began talking at once. Laughing the two hugged again. "Oh Lisa! Oh my gosh how are you? What happened to your leg? Lisa I have missed you!" Lidia babbled on grinning and wrapping her arms around her sister again.

Lisa chuckled, "Lidia, one question at a time!"

"Fine, start with the leg please. What did you do klutz?"

Lisa sighed, "I was in a car accident, Lid. But we can talk about it in private? It's not a subject for the airport. Now, I have lost my husband to the Starbucks but after we find him we can go get your bags."

Lidia's eyes bulged and she grabbed Lisa's left hand, "Husband! Lisa! Seriously you got married? To who?"

"Lidia you have been gone a while, in a remote area in which I could not contact you. Jack and I got married months ago. And if it makes you feel any better we kept it a secret from everyone for months." Lisa paused as she got a glimpse of her cowboy walking towards her. "Ah, speak of the devil."

"So that's Jack? I don't see him as the Starbucks type." Lidia observed.

Lisa snorted, "He's not. Observe the dissatisfied facial expression and lack of coffee." Jack approached and Lisa gave him a look. "No coffee?"

"They sell frappe something-a-rather, not coffee." Jack grumbled kissing Lisa's cheek and looking at Lidia. The two exchanged pleasantries and Jack looked Lidia up and down. She had blond hair much like his wife's original hair color, while a little shorter than her sister, she was really a younger version of Lisa.

Lidia too was looking Jack up and down, her brow furrowed slightly as she examined her sister's choice in spouse. He was a cowboy, but she could tell that he was much older than her. His personality was obviously very introverted, she could already tell that he was not one who liked to be away from his ranch. He didn't seem like the right man for her sister.

"So this is home?" Lidia asked looking at the small home on Heartstone. She found the house beautiful, but it seemed very un-Lisa-like. She was used to her sister living in the grand homes of her French chateau and Fairfield.

Lisa smiled, "Yes! Isn't it wonderful? Wait till you see the inside!"

Jack grabbed Lisa's arm. "Lis, I gotta go look at some cows with Tim. Nice to meet you Lidia!"

Lisa nodded, "Ok, I will see you tonight. Love you!" The two kissed and Jack walked to his truck and drove away. Lisa then turned to her sister with a bright smile on her face. "I have so many wonderful things to show you!" Lisa took two steps when Amy rounded the corner on Spartan. She dismounted and left Spartan tied to the fence rail and began to approach Lisa and Lidia. Lou pulled up in her car moments later and Katie clamored out of the back and raced down the drive way toward the front porch where Lisa and Lidia stood.

"Nan!" Katie called racing at top speed down the side walk.

Lisa smiled at the name that Katie had adopted for her and laughed as she was intercepted by Amy who scooped her up despite the little girls shrieking protests.

Lidia looked at her sister, "Who is that?"

Lisa smiled happily, "That little darling is my god daughter, and Jack's Granddaughters Amy and Lou."

Lidia looked at the three girls who were approaching, and glanced at Lisa who was grinning from ear to ear at the sight of her family.

Lou came along behind her daughter walking slowly, "Sorry to interrupt, Lisa. I just need to talk to grandpa. Is he here?"

Lisa shook her head, "No, sorry sweetie he's not."

Lou's face fell and she looked as if she was about to cry, "I can't get ahold of dad and the baby cribs are in pieces on my floor."

Lisa reached out to hug Lou who was fighting back hormonal tears, "Its going to be ok."

Amy pulled out her cell phone, "Lou I am calling Ty, he and I will come over tonight and bring some take out and help with the nursery."

Lou, nodded and wiped away tears. "I miss Peter."

Amy's heart twisted, "I know, I know." She glanced at Lisa and then led her older sister inside.

Lisa frowned then looked to her goddaughter who was racing to the tire swing that was on the side of the house. Lisa motioned for Lidia to follow her as she followed her goddaughter. Lidia followed slightly confused by the events that transpired.

Lidia wandered around the living room looking at pictures of Lisa's new life. There was a photo of Lisa and Jack at what was most likely a wedding. Another one was of Lou's family, one of Amy and Ty shortly after their wedding. There were a few frames that where older too. One of what she assumed was a young Lou and Amy with a much younger jack. That was followed by a photo of Jack and a young woman and grey horse. Then there was a photo of Lisa and Ben at his graduation. And another photo of a much younger Lisa with Ben on his first pony after his birthday party. Then there was one of Lisa Lidia and their father.

"I love that picture!" Lisa said as she entered the room.

"Me too. I miss him."

"Me too, he would be so proud of you Lidia. All the good you are doing for people." Lisa said smiling at her sister.

"I know. But I can't help but wish I would have stayed."

"Why? You hated living here. You always have."

Lidia looked at her sister, "Yes, but Lisa I missed so much, in your life, and in my own son's. Not to mention the fact that Dad's dream, his life's work was sold off without my say. I should have been here."

"Dad wanted me to be successful. I am successful. Mom she wanted us to be happy." Lisa paused, "in the end it all worked out. They would both be proud of us. Despite how many times we might have let dad down."

Lidia looked at her sister, "I just don't understand how this makes you happy. Doesn't this remind you of everything that you could have had?"

Lisa's eyes flashed, "What I could have had, if I married the guy dad had picked out for me, what was his name Preston? Even if I had done what dad wanted my life would have never ever ended up like this because I wouldn't have been happy. But I didn't marry Jack for his life. I married him because I love him. Because he looks at me in a way no one has ever has. What more could I want?"

"I just don't see this as you, I am not sure how it's your life. This house this family, none of it is you!"

Lisa's eyes flared. "You've been gone a long time. You don't know me. I am not 26 anymore. I am not as young as I used to be and I missed out on a lot. I have a lot of regrets. This house is something I built with my husband, a compromise that took us years to reach. This family is something I am a part of. I was there when those girls where still adjusting to the loss of their mother, when Jack had lost the only child he ever had. I was there for the graduations, funerals, weddings, and everything in-between. This family is my life." Lisa looked at her sister with a sharp glance as she moved to the bedroom and shut the door behind her leaving a shocked Lidia in the living room.

Lou and Amy sat on the couch in Lou's living room that night watching Ty and Tim put together the baby cribs. "Do you think I freaked out Lisa's sister with my breakdown earlier?" Lou asked.

Amy paused treading lightly with her emotional sister, "I think she looked a bit overwhelmed by everything, not really just you."

Lou nodded, "I didn't get a good feeling about her."

Amy rolled her eyes, "Lou you say that about everyone."

"I do not, but seriously she just seemed so juddgy."

Amy laughed, "Says the judgey one."

Their conversation was interrupted by a large crash as part of a crib fell to the floor. Ty looked at Tim, "I told you not to do that."

Tim rolled his eyes, "Oh what do you know. You don't look like the expert to me."

"Well at least I read the instructions," Ty mumbled under his breath.

Amy and Lou laughed quietly as Ty gave the two girls a look begging for their support against Tim.

So please review and feel free to help me with any ideas you have. It has been a long time since I have written this story. This was found on my old desk top so it was posted as is. I am struggling to write a chapter to follow this since it has been over a year since I have worked on it.
