A.N: Okay so I got a review that the jumping around was a little confusing. Was everyone confused? Sorry about that I was trying to give everyone some screen time since it's been a while. I had to include Itachi because if I don't I know I'll get a dozen reviews asking where he is. There is a long section of this chapter devoted to Naruto and the babies. The Zetsu fight...I decided not to include his ability to duplicate himself using spawns because I found it quite tedious. I didn't want the fight to be too drawn out since I am quite new to writing battle scenes. That expression chewing off more than you can handle, I wanted to avoid that. I can assure you that I will make the fights to come much longer. Especially the fights with the big Akatsuki members. Japanese translations and the babies' names with translation will be at the bottom. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for the reviews, I loved them!
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Naruto, it's plot or characters.
The Cursed Sharingan: Chapter Eleven
The meeting place in the Ame lair was as dark and cavernous as any of the others. Despite being the original hideout, it was just as lacking in luxury as the rest. Ah the price of being a criminal master-mind I suppose. Pein's rinnigan eyes positively glowed, the lilac colored ripples seeming luminescent in the pitch black cave. In complete contrast, Tobi's blood red sharingan eye shone ominously in the dank cavern.
"It appears Zetsu has been taken out" Tobi stated. Despite the blase tone he used, neither Pein nor Konan were fooled. It was quite obvious just how furious their esteemed leader was.
Sensing the hostility Tobi was putting out in waves, Konan sent a look to her childhood friend.
Taking the hint, Pein spoke. "What exactly happened?" he questioned, his stare not wavering as that bloody iris and its owner focused on him.
"Zetsu was ambushed by a team of Konoha nin by Hotsprings Country. It was a team lead by the so-called Copy Ninja, Hatake Kakashi. They had a mokuton user as well. Against such assailants Zetsu didn't stand a chance" Tobi answered. When saying Kakashi's name his tone turned sarcastic and hateful, something which Pein noticed.
The rinnegan user had to wonder at their leader's reasons for sending Zetsu in the first place. Zetsu was primarily a reconnaissance and information gathering member. Although black Zetsu was decently skilled in combat, white Zetsu was chunin level at most. He seriously doubted Zetsu could have successfully captured the Hachibi. 'It is his own fault for over-estimating the power of his subordinates. Itachi, myself or even Konan would have been a much better choice for this mission' Pein noted, choosing to keep his thoughts to himself.
"Where is Itachi?" Tobi asked irately, his eye searching the cave as if said Uchiha would miraculously show up.
Pein's eyes narrowed. 'I have my suspicions about that. I wonder how this will play out'. "He is not currently in the base" he stated, watching Tobi's reaction closely. 'Ah, he's put it together then?'.
"So we have a traitor do we? How ironic once a traitor, always a traitor I see. Very disappointing" Tobi drawled, but his attempt at nonchalance did not fool Pein. He did not need the rinnegan to see the fury that tone masked.
"What are your plans Madara?" Pein asked directly, wanting to know what they were going to do to achieve the peace he so desperately desired.
"We will let Itachi leave for now. He won't escape forever and we have other matters to attend to. Itachi will find that no one quits Akatsuki" Tobi answered, his voice turning threatening at the end.
Pein could sense Konan's distress at the statement. Fearlessly, he continued his questioning. "What matters do we have to attend to?" he asked, seeking clarification.
Tobi's lone eye fixated eerily on him once more. "We will make plans to attack Konoha" he stated, throwing the other two for a loop.
Konan's reaction was visible, her widening golden eyes clearly displaying her shock. Pein was successfully able to contain his surprise.
"Why will we attack Konoha, shouldn't we retrieve the Hachibi?" Nagato questioned, his eyes narrowing on their leader.
"The Hachibi can wait for now. Konoha has interfered enough. They must be put in their place" Tobi replied his voice lowering with menace.
Konan and Pein hid their reactions to this.
"Besides now is the chance for you to get revenge on Konoha for the suffering you endured as children" Tobi added, his tone lilting and seducing.
'Revenge will only continue the cycle of hatred it will not end in peace'. "Very well. As it is late, we will retire" the orange-haired male stated. With a nod to their leader he turned on his heel, Konan trailing him closely.
Once they were in the safety of their tower. Konan materialized a piece of her origami paper, pulling an ink pen from her cloak sleeve she wrote a short message. 'We must talk'.
Pein nodded. Pulling out a scroll he wrote a quick note 'We'll write it all out then get rid of the evidence. I won't risk a silencing jutsu with this conversation. They have ways of being undermined'.
Konan nodded. 'Will we really attack Konoha? We have no reason to do so. Naruto has not returned there and its obvious they do not know where she is. Madara's plans are falling apart and so is he it seems. This is not the way to peace Nagato' she wrote, using his given name to both appeal to him and stress the seriousness of the situation. 'While it is true that Konoha has wronged us, the whole village is not comprised of only shinobi. There are civilians and children. A full-scale attack would be no better than the war we went through. That is not something I will do' she thought decisively.
Pein sighed. 'It appears we have been misled. Madara's ultimate goal no longer seems to be peace. It is more likely he plans to use his Moon's eye plan to take over the world. While a world under one sovereign would stop feuding Daimiyo's and Kage's that is only if that one sovereign wished to do so. He could throw the whole world into war and chaos. While Konoha has wronged us I must agree this is not the way. It is not our way' he wrote succinctly. Meeting Konan's eyes with resolve, the two shared a look of affection and closeness.
'What we will do remains to be seen. I can only think of one person who we could go to. Sensei would you even help us?' were Pein's last thoughts before the two went to bed.

After leaving the hideout Itachi set out towards Fire Country. While not knowing his exact direction yet, he wanted to put a large amount of distance between himself and Ame before he dared send a summon to Sasuke.
The elder Uchiha set a brutal pace for himself, pushing his limits to their max. He had no doubt that his absence would be noticed as soon as Zetsu's death was official. He hoped that he had a few hours before that time. Usually there would be a much longer time period before Tobi found out about a member's death, but their leader had a special relationship with Zetsu. In fact the two were as close to friendly with each other as either could get. Their relationship, or what Itachi had witnessed of it seemed very much like a master-pupil relationship. No that isn't quite right Tobi didn't teach Zetsu anything. While he would appear proud at Zetsu's accomplishments and offer him praise their mysterious leader treated the plant-like male more as a favorite pet.
The Uchiha male had a minuscule frown at the thought, the slight expression the equivalent of a full-blown displeased expression for him. His thoughts were quite disturbing but, not without a point. The point being that the two were very close-no matter how disturbing Itachi found that closeness-and Tobi would not take Zetsu's death lightly. He would seek revenge for his companion and by disappearing Itachi all but closed the case on who was to blame for that one.
Deciding on a quick stop, he dropped down out of a large oak tree. He quickly wrote a letter to Sasuke sending Hibisuke away with a poof. To hide his anxiousness and make use of his short stop-he would definitely not be stopping again- he ate a couple rations bars and downed a small portion of his water to wash it down.
He removed his Akatsuki cloak. Deciding to keep it until he could properly dispose of it, he sealed it away. Itachi didn't want to risk making a fire and burning it. A fire would increase his chances of being found even after he put it out. The ashes would still have a detectable scent to an experienced tracker.
Itachi pulled out another scroll and unsealed his ninjato. The short sword was his weapon in anbu, partly because of his young age and small stature. Itachi was too little to successfully utilize a katana, much to his secret ire. Unfortunately his sempai picked up on it and relentlessly teased him. Deciding to pass on a tanto he instead selected a ninjato. The weapon was a present from his Sempai in anbu, Hatake Kakashi, who pretty much trained him in all things anbu. Strapping it to his back, he stood as a large snake summon appeared in front of him. It dropped a simple note, hastily written on a takeout menu.
Itachi could not resist an eyebrow twitch at the writing material, but the twitch developed into a full blown tick at the note's contents. 'Get in his mouth -Sasuke'. Itachi suppressed the childish urge to use amaterasu on the note, but it was with more difficulty then he usually had to. 'Well then, I guess there is little choice' he noted, his thoughts confirmed as the snake opened it's giant maw, it's long, sharp fangs gleaming dangerously. Itachi's twitch turned into a scowl, his fist crushing the note without remorse.

Despite feeling the urgency of Itachi's situation, Sasuke could not pass up the opportunity to mess with his famously emotionless brother. Being one of the few to know the truth, that Itachi isn't emotionless, just very skilled at hiding them Sasuke found himself immensely enjoying getting a reaction out of his Aniki. He was sadly not able to enjoy this new found game with their main communication being letters, but he was now presented with the prefect chance. The prefect chance that he just could not pass up.
After that horrible experience with Naruto's summoning, that obnoxious frog Gamakichi, Sasuke had looked into transportation by summoning. Remembering his vocal reaction to it, he had to smirk. If anyone knew how to successfully mess with/piss off a person it was Naruto. That was the only skill of hers he would not refute, it was actually amazing how easily she could rile people up without even meaning to. He hated it for the trouble it used to get Team 7 into, but now he could appreciate it for the first-and most likely, only-time.
As he hastily scrawled a note on Suigetsu's take out menu he had to stifle a laugh. Despite his best attempts, his shoulders still shook, causing his team-mates to adopt wary looks. His penmanship was impeccable, as always so Sasuke knew that if Itachi really thought it through he would realize the paper choice was intentional, but he doubted his brother would focus on that with the message contents.
He immediately summoned a small snake. "Send Hebitome to fetch Itachi. Tell him to give Itachi this note", he ordered handing the note to the small snake. As the snake disappeared, Sasuke sat back determined to watch this play out. Pausing, he told his team he was going out and quickly moved to a secluded spot in the forest. It wouldn't do to have his giant summons appear in the hotel, nor would he embarrass his brother in front of his team. 'Uchiha's do not get laughed at, except by other Uchiha's' he noted, his thoughts even sounding haughty to himself. Pausing he reluctantly added 'and Naruto' to his previous thought. The blonde had a habit of laughing at him.
He settled on a log and didn't have to wait much longer before his summons reappeared. Sasuke had to quickly cover his eager expression, changing it to a bored one. He stuck his hands in his pockets and slouched to further the image.
As the snake regurgitated Itachi, the elder Uchiha only had to take one look at his sibling to see the truth. Despite appearing bored to anyone else who might have passed, Sasuke was unable to hide the amusement twinkling in his eyes.
As Itachi shook out his arm, sending a glob of snake saliva flying to the ground, he turned a dangerous look on his younger sibling. Although he would usually be happy to see Sasuke so light hearted, he was quite annoyed at finding himself the butt of the joke. "This amuses you?" Itachi asked in a dark voice, making Sasuke finally break out in a smirk.
"I'm not sure what you mean Aniki. This was the fastest way to transport you here. I'm sorry it wasn't up to your high standards" Sasuke answered innocently, smirk still in place.
Itachi's eyes narrowed. "Sasuke you never could pull off the innocent act" he stated assuredly, his expression tightening.
Sasuke laughed at that and it set off the hysterical laughter he was desperately trying to contain.
After a minute Itachi's eyebrow started twitching. "Are you quite done?" he asked in a fake-calm voice.
When his only answer was continued laughter. Itachi turned. 'Right. I'm getting a bath now' he snarled internally. He marched through the trees, walking up to the Inn. It was only as he approached the desk that Sasuke caught up to him. His younger brother was winded from the short run in a way that only laughing while running could cause.
His sharingan active, Itachi looked at the male stationed at the desk. "One room please" he stated, calmly ignoring his brother.
"Close to mine please" Sasuke added from over Itachi's shoulder.
Itachi's eyebrow ticked. "As far from his as possible" he ordered in a no-nonsense tone.
Sasuke laughed at this. In reaction Itachi slammed down some money ,accepted the key from the frightened attendant and strode off.
Once he was finally sitting in a hot tub and freshly scrubbed Itachi could see the humor in the situation, but it didn't mean he wouldn't retaliate. Sasuke would find that he started a war he had no hopes of winning. With a smirk of his own, the Uchiha dunked his head rinsing out his conditioner.

"Itachi, you met my team informally when we took out Kisame. The white-haired one is Suigetsu, the orange-haired one is Jugo and the girl is Karin. Taka you know Itachi. You are to treat him with respect, like you treat me" he ordered, his eyes narrowing at Suigetsu's grin. "Better than you treat me" he added with a warning tone for the ex-Mist nin.
Itachi didn't react outwardly, sipping his tea calmly as the group appraised him.
Turning his gaze to Itachi, Sasuke spoke once more, onyx eyes clashing "I think it's time we tell Naruto" he stated seriously, waiting for Itachi's reaction.
Itachi set his cup down. "Please elaborate" he asked calmly, challenging Sasuke.
Sasuke rose to the challenge. "Reason one, she will find out eventually. She is still in contact with both Jiraiya and Tsunade. Reason two, it will clear up a lot of things. It'll be a lot easier if I don't have to keep things from Naruto" he explained, Itachi picking up Sasuke's displeasure at lying to the blonde, frowned. 'They are very close' he noted.
"Reason three, Naruto is strong she'll definitely be able to help us" as much as Sasuke squabbled with Naruto, there was no hiding how strong the blonde was. She could be counted as one of the few people who's strength he respected, alongside Itachi and Kakashi.
Itachi's frown deepened at involving Naruto, making Sasuke hurry to explain. "Naruto doesn't have to be involved in the fighting, even if the Dobe can protect herself. Reason four, by letting her in on everything we now have a place where you can stay and be undetected" Sasuke finished, making Itachi stare at him. "We'll be back" Itachi stated, leading the way to his room with Sasuke following, leaving team Taka in their room.
"Okay I feel like I just missed part of the conversation" Suigestu stated with confusion.
"Baka Kappa" Karin scoffed.

"What makes you think having me stay with Naruto is a good idea?" Itachi asked once they were in the privacy of his room.
Sasuke took in Itachi's seated posture, clasped hands and no-nonsense expression. Matching his brother in seriousness he continued, "Akatsuki is dormant at the moment. Until they make their move there is no need for you to be out in the open. It's actually careless to do so. While you've all but proven you had something to do with sending info to Konoha. They have no way of connecting the two of us. It isn't suspicious that I've been killing off Akatsuki members since to them, I'm still after you. By separating we can keep our teaming-up as an ace in the hole".
Itachi nodded at this, finding Sasuke's logic sound. Secretly his younger brother had greatly impressed him with this plan. By being an out-side party he was able to clearly see the big picture, something Itachi was unable to do at the moment. 'My emotions need to be cleared, there is no way I will survive without thinking clearly. I must push aside my reservations' he chided himself.
Seeing Itachi's resolve weaken, Sasuke pressed his advantage. "They don't have any leads on Naruto, her place is the safest you can be with all of the seals she has around the house. If you go into hiding with Naruto, you have the added bonus of protecting both her and your children" he finished his argument with a solid blow he knew Itachi had no chance of refuting.
"Very well little brother, your plan is acceptable to me, but how will you convince Naruto to let her rapist into her home?" Itachi asked stoically, making Sasuke flinch.
Having successfully stumped his younger brother, the two sat in silence both drawn into their thoughts.

Naruto sat serenely in front of the toad oil waterfall clad in only a sports bra and black shorts. Her eyes were closed, face calm. She could feel Fukusaku splash toad oil onto her periodically, from the pond just behind her. 'All three of the kids can walk now. They are growing so fast' she thought wistfully. Losing her concentration and stillness, her face started expanding in size. She could feel the toad transformation starting. With a whack of his staff on her head, the little toad dispelled the transformation. Naruto let out a pained yell at the blow, a scowl crossing her features. She rolled on the ground clutching her abused noggin, wanting to spew curse words. "I'm going to have bruises and internal bleeding by morning!" she whined, sitting up to face the small toad.
"What's that, you're giving up already?" Fukusaku asked in a surprised voice, giving the girl a disapproving look.
"Hey I've got a better way to do this training" she stated suddenly, smirking.
Fukusaku's face turned curious, "What's that?".
"Kage-bunshin!" she chirped excitedly, holding up a finger and winking. "I'll gain way more experience that way" she added triumphantly.
"I see, whatever tha shadow clones experience goes back ta tha original in tha end. On tha other hand, if tha shadow clones transform completely into a frog, tha original is done for!" the old frog deducted.
"I know that already" Naruto nodded.
"So be it. Only four though! Any more and my staff won't be able ta cover all of ya" Fukusaku agreed, sweat-dropping when Naruto brightened.
The blonde jumped up, fist in the air. "YOSHHHH!" she yelled excitedly. Her blue eyes went from happy to serious in an instant. Making the cross symbol for her signature technique, she summoned four clones. The five Naruto's sat in a straight line and began to channel nature energy.
A series of smacking sounds and screams followed by poofs sounded. "This ain't no game of whack-a-mole, this is training! I can't keep this up!" the elderly frog scolded the original and only remaining Naruto. The little toad was breathing hard for his efforts as he knocked the original on the head with a loud 'whack' sound.
Naruto let out a pained sound. "IT STINGSSS!" she cried, her cheek swollen and bruised. She clutched her injury, eyes watering. "My face is all messed up because you hit me, not because I turned into a frog!" she added petulantly. "I never thought training to feel natural energy would be this hard" she whined, slouching miserably.
"Real power can only be obtained by gettin' through rough trainin'" the old toad stated wisely.
Naruto's expression shifted to determination. "I know. If it means becoming as strong as Ero-sennin, then anyone would give it their all" Naruto replied quietly, making the little toad's eyes widen. 'Despite their odd relationship, Naruto-girl really respects Jiraiya-chan'.
"No that's not true" the frog replied, crossing his arms and looking away. "Not just anyone can handle this kind of trainin'. Only those like you and Jiraiya-chan can. That's what I believe. Otherwise, I wouldn't have asked to train ya" he finished, making Naruto sit up.
"What do you mean?" the blonde asked with wide-eyes.
"I'm talkin' about tha enormous amount of chakra inside of ya. If ya didn't have that, tha natural energy would instantly overpower ya. That's how powerful natural energy is. And above all else, ya need the guts and determination ta never give up. That's what it takes for someone ta become a sage" the frog spoke seriously, clarifying Naruto's misconception. He wanted the girl to know how unique this training was. He was rewarded with a huge grin from the blonde girl. She jumped up, spirit and determination renewed.
"Alright! Let's do this!" the blonde shouted boisterously, jumping up in the air.
From his place on a rock, Jiraiya had to grin. He could tell that his apprentice was getting discouraged, but what ever Fukusaku said to her seemed to do the trick. Naruto was back to her stubborn self and Jiraiya had no doubt that she wouldn't ace this training. Turning fully to watch the blonde. He smiled as she somersaulted through the air, her petite body spinning prettily in a show of athleticism before completing a perfect dive into the toad oil pond, making his jaw drop. 'That reckless imbecile!'.
"Ya idiot are ya trying ta get yourself killed!?" Fukusaku shouted his voice quite loud for such a tiny being. Jiraiya could only sweat-drop as the small frog started to repeatedly hit Naruto on the head when she surfaced, her pained yells and the whacking sounds harmonizing.
With a shake of his head, he had to chuckle. 'Naruto will always be Naruto'.
Eventually Nauto was able to feel the natural energy. 'Looks like she felt it' Fukusaku noted, nodding with approval. "Alright Naruto-girl. Let's take a break, after we rest a bit we'll give lifting those stones with senjutsu a try" the elderly frog ordered, drawing the gloating girl's attention.
Naruto was glad she brought their lunches, her face turning green as Ma and Pa dined on their bug lunch.
"Well then, it's time ta try and lift tha statue. However, I want ya to try it using ninjutsu chakra first" Fukusaku ordered.
Naruto nodded. "Hai" she chirped, beginning to collect her chakra. "Here we go!" she stated with determination, bending her knees and attempting to lift the huge frog statues. She made grunting sounds as her attempts failed. "It won't budge!" she groaned.
"That's enough" Fukusaku ordered, causing Naruto to sigh with relief. The blonde bent over slightly, clutching her knees and panting.
"Now try molding some senjutsu chakra" Fukusaku stated.
"Got it" Naruto replied, walking over to the pond she dipped her hand in the toad oil. Sitting down in a meditating position the blonde attempted to gather senjutsu chakra. After a short time she was able to push away everything else as soon as she did that her body started drawing in natural energy. After a short moment, her eyes slammed open. There were orange rings around her eyes and she had numerous warts on her forehead and arms.
"That's it! Try liftin' tha statue one more time!" Fukusaku encouraged.
Nodding, Naruto obediently moved to do as she was told. Taking her lifting position she grunted as she started lifting it. Slowly the statue began to raise up.
"Keep it up Naruto-chan!" the little frog praised loudly, drawing Jiraiya's attention.
With one more heaving sound, Naruto lifted the statue clear above her head.
"Way to go Naruto!" shouted Jiraiya, grinning at his student's accomplishment. Meeting Fukusaku's eyes, the two shared a look.
'This kid is catchin' on even quicker than Jiraiya-chan did' the elderly frog noted.
"I GOT IT!" Naruto shouted excitedly, throwing the statue.
"You idiot! Don't treat our ancestors like that!" yelled Fukusaku, but Naruto was too happy to notice. That is until the statue started a domino effect knocking down the row of huge statues.
Jiraiya had to hide his face in embarrassment 'Only Naruto, this kid' he thought shaking his head.
'She's also more thick headed than Jiraiya-chan is' Fukusaku thought despairingly, sweat-dropping at the spectacle. "Yosh. Naruto-chan put all them fallen stones back into place!" he ordered.
Naruto's jaw dropped. "Are you serious?!" she whined. At his blank stare, she moved to complete her task.
After finishing the blonde set to gathering senjutsu chakra once more.
"Looks like you've somewhat mastered how ta control it using tha oil. Now it's time ta practice controlling tha natural energy without help from tha oil" Fukusaku ordered, watching as Naruto left the pond and moved to stand on a statue. "I can feel the power inside me" the blonde stated, making the toad nod.
"Since ninjutsu chakra relies on your internal energy alone, tha more ya use it, tha more it will exhaust ya. However, senjutsu chakra draws in energy from your surroundings. Rather than exhaustin' your body, it will actually speed your recovery" Fukusaku explained making Naruto grin.
"Really?" the blonde asked excitedly.
'Well with Kyuubi's chakra in there as well she'll be recovering at a phenomenal rate' the toad noted.
"Maybe with this I can use that now" the blonde muttured, thinking of her Rasenshuriken jutsu.
"What is that you're mumbling?" Fukusaku asked sharply.
Naruto waved her hands dismissively, face turning sheepish. "Oh! Um, it was nothing!" she replied, grinning.
"Whatever" Fukusaku said flippantly.
Jiraiya decided to join them. "Naruto here" he called, throwing a book to her.
"This is for me?" she asked, studying the brown colored novel.
"It was the first book I wrote. I hope you read it" the toad sage stated, smiling happily.
"Legend...of the Gutsy Ninja" she enunciated. Giving him a smile she set off for to one of the tall leafy plants, where she sat down to start reading it. The blonde became absorbed in the tale, oohing and awing over the fight scenes. When she got to the final confrontation where the main character was asked who he was, she started to tear up. 'You've given me something very precious Ero-sennin' she thought, tears rolling down her face. Brushing them away, she closed her book and stood. Cradling the gift to her chest, her jaw dropped at the darkness of the sky.
She returned to her training spot and found Jiraiya standing by the waterfall. Tearing up again, she sniffled and tackled his turned back in a hug. "Thanks. Ero-sennin" she gushed, her voice filled with raw emotion.
Turning in her embrace, his surprised look softened into a gentle smile. "Don't mention it gaki" he replied softly, hugging Naruto tightly.
Pulling away from the hug, Jiraiya allowed Naruto to collect herself before saying "Naruto, I talked with Fukusaku. You have the day off tomorrow. It's pretty late brat, you better get back to your brats".
Naruto scowled. "They are not brats!" she stated, before adding "and neither am I!". Sticking her tongue out childishly and pulling down her lower eyelid, to prove his point, she disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
The blonde appeared home very late. Rushing upstairs, she carefully placed her gift on the night-stand and rushed over to the kids. All three were sleeping peacefully, so she headed into the bathroom to shower.
After her quick shower, the blonde collapsed into bed falling into a deep slumber.
...My name is Naruto- -linebreak
The next morning Naruto woke up bright and early. Having the day off was an unexpected, but nonetheless pleasant surprise. What shall we do today? Maybe we can have a picnic in the front yard. Hm I could take the kids into town. Go visit Mika and Tadashi. Come to think of it, it's been a while since I've seen them and they have yet to see the kids. I've been really reclusive since their birth. Probably due to all of that training. Resolved, the blonde went to her closet. Looking through her items, she settled on a pretty dark purple, cap-sleeved dress. It ended a few inches above her knees so she found it appropriate enough. She braided her long hair to the side, having it hang over her left shoulder. Her long braid reached to her hip in length.
Scrutinizing her appearance in the mirror, she added some diamond earrings, blush and lip gloss before she was satisfied. Snatching up the monitor, she checked on her sleeping babes on more time. Going downstairs she donned her flowery orange apron. Naruto put on some rice-porridge to cook for breakfast.
She set about cutting some bananas, peach and watermelon for the kids. Scooping out some of her porridge, she placed a little bit in three small plastic bowls. Setting the fruit up at their highchairs, she left the porridge to cool. She filled their sippy cups with apple juice and placed them next to the fruit.
She quickly cleaned her mess from cooking and any other things she noticed. Feeling accomplished, the blonde grinned. 'There is something about doing this without clones that is so satisfying' she noted.
Turning the blonde went into the living room, the monitor clipped to her collar. She started to straighten out the living room, folding the throw blanket and placing it on the back of the couch. Picking up some scattered toys, she put them in the box. She quickly but thoroughly swept the floor. Grabbing some Lysol wipes, the blonde wiped off the furniture.
Returning to the kitchen she mopped both the kitchen and living room. Both rooms were neat and smelling of lemon scented pine-sol making her smile. The whole process had taken her a little over fifteen minutes.
Looking at the clock, she decided to wake the kids. Takeo was already up. The little boy was standing in his crib. Gaze solemn, making Naruto laugh. She scooped him up, his unhappy expression immediately vanishing. He tucked his head under her chin, clutching to her dress. Naruto smiled, kissing his head. She brought Takeo downstairs sitting him in the high chair. He obediently started eating his breakfast, so with one more kiss she went to get the next one.
Naruto decided to go for Satomi first. She brushed back her daughters flaxen bangs before picking up the tiny girl. Natruto gently rocked her, humming lightly. Satomi stirred shortly, her little face joyous at her gentle rousing. The dark-haired child's expression was contagious and Naruto couldn't help smiling back. Bringing Satomi downstairs she put her in her seat next to Takeo.
Naruto tied Satomi's curtain of dark hair up into a messy bun to keep it from getting in her food. "Alright guys time to get Nao-chan" the blonde chirped, leaving the babies to their food.
Naruto had to laugh at Naoto's sleeping position. The tyke was spread eagle on his back little limbs stretched out in every direction. Her middle child was definitely a messy sleeper. It made Naruto glad that each would have their own bed once they were old enough. She cracked up at the thought of the two boys sleeping next to eachother. Takeo flat on his back at the edge, with Naoto covering the rest of the bed, leg and arm slung over his elder brother.
Still smirking, Naruto reached in to get Naoto. The blonde cradled the boy against her and had to rub his back when he started to cry at her rousing. "No!" he whined. Naruto smiled, crying before he even opened his eyes. She could only imagine how much trouble he would be once he went to the academy. The thought made her sad and happy. 'I miss Konoha'. After another moment she finally managed to coax him into wakefulness. Two glaring onyx eyes met her own making Naruto smirk.
"Don't give me that look. You want breakfast don't you? Maybe I'll give it to your brother and sister" she teased, laughing as his expression lightened into a smile. She doubted he understood what she said. If so, he'd probably still be glaring. Kissing him loudly on the cheek repeatedly, earned her a bout of childish giggles making Naruto laugh.
The two joined the rest of the family downstairs to eat breakfast. After a quick wash up, Naruto set about choosing outfits for the kids. "Hm. I'll be taking them in public so civilian styled clothing. No Uchiha fan. That leaves a small option" she mused out loud. Luckily for her the weather was quite nice at this time despite it being fall. She dressed Satomi first in a tiny pale pink dress. The dress had white flowers on it and a white-lace ribbon tie around the waist. She put some white ruffled socks on her and little pink Mary-jane styled shoes. Lastly, she french braided her daughters hair. Placing Satomi in the jumper she left her to her playing.
She scooped up Naoto, who had been loudly vocalizing his enjoyment as he played with a stuffed dinosaur. She placed his diaper-clad body on the bed. Quickly grabbing some white shorts, she settled him in a blue t-shirt, some white socks and blue sneakers. Placing him on the ground, she laughed as he kicked his shoe-clad feet, expression displeased.
Turning to her eldest child she smiled at him. Takeo was standing by Satomi and the jumper. The little boy was playing with his sister, moving the tiny wooden blocks along the tubes and pressing the buttons to play music for her.
"Take-chan come to mommy" Naruto asked, holding her arms out.
The little boy turned from the jumper and walked over to Naruto holding his arms up in the universal 'pick me up' sign.
Naruto bent down and scooped him up laying a loud kiss on his cheek. "You're a good boy Take-chan" she complimented, setting him on the bed. The little boy sat patiently on the bed, waiting to be dressed.
He allowed Naruto to dress him without a fight, even lifting his legs to help her. She dressed him in black shorts like Naoto's and a red t-shirt. His socks were also black and his sneakers red. Satisfied, she kissed his cheek. Moving to set him down, the little boy turned his face kissing her on the mouth.
Naruto laughed. "Giving mommy kisses?" she asked, kissing him once more before setting him down. Naruto brought the stroller downstairs. She packed a diaper bag with the essentials and made sure to throw in some snacks.
After getting the kids all settled in the stroller, Naruto stepped back. 'This is the first time I've used this thing. We'll see how this goes'. The blonde made sure the stroller hood covered the kids' heads. Nodding to herself, she preformedher henge.
Naruto slipped on her sandals and started to maneuver the buggy outside. The stroller was wide, with three seats in a row, it had a long hood that could be pulled up or kept down and a net basket underneath where she stored the diaper bag.
With a little difficulty, she finally got them outside. Locking the door she started on her journey, pushing the buggy down the path to town. A few minutes into the trip Naoto started to get fussy So she retrieved the dinosaur doll from the diaper bag and gave it to him. Satomi was content to suck on her thumb, dark eyes gazing around curiously. Takeo silently sat in the buggy, his hands gripping the bar in front of him.
Resuming her walk, Naruto was able to arrive at the village with little trouble. The blonde walked into town deciding to go to the toy store and get the kids something. Naruto turned left onto the main road, a few scattered townsfolk waving to her. Naruto smiled and waved back.
In the toy store the blonde pleasantly greeted the shop owner. "Hello Daiku-san. How are you today?" she asked with a bright smile.
The elderly man smiled back. ""I'm well and you Natsumi-chan? It's been a while since I seen you. Thought you'd moved away" he replied.
Naruto smiled sheepishly. "Ah nope, still here. Sorry about that. Adjusting to motherhood I suppose" she excused herself.
Daiku's eyes dropped to the buggy at this. "Well look at that. They take after you Natsumi-chan. I can't imagine how difficult it is with three of them. Are you getting by alright on your own?" he asked worriedly.
Naruto smiled reassuringly. "Hai. It was difficult in the beginning. For some reason they always seemed to be hungry, cry and need changing at the same time" she answered, chuckling softly. 'Those days were crazy. Sasuke-teme was a lot of help when they were first born. I wouldn't have been able to do it without him' she recalled. "I've gotten used to it though. They really are everything good in my life" she stated fondly, brushing Naoto's bangs. All three children were paying attention at meeting a new person.
Daiku smiled. "That's good then. I won't keep you, I'm sure you have stuff to do. Pick some excellent toys for the tykes, my treat" the elderly man winked.
"Oh you don't have to do that Daiku-san" Naruto replied, voice colored in surprise.
"I know, but I'd still like to" was her answer, the older man shuffling over to the counter.
"Well thank you then daiku-san" Naruto stated formally, bowing to show her gratefulness.
The older man chuckled and nodded.
Naruto began her search for toys. Walking up and down the isles at a leisurely pace.
Naoto caused some difficulty wanting both a stuffed dog and a stuffed snake. "Naoto you only get one" Naruto stated firmly, using his full name to show her seriousness. Her middle child immediately burst into tears.
Naruto's cheeks turned red. This being the first time she took the kids out, she was definitely not prepared for temper tantrums. The blonde glanced around the store and had to sigh with relief at it's relative emptiness. Unbuckling Naoto she rocked him slowly, rubbing his back. Meeting his eyes, Naruto smiled gently. The blonde sighed in relief after she successfully calmed him down. 'He doesn't understand. The only toys he's seen are his own and he can play with any of them' she reminded herself, feeling guilty for being stern with him. 'I'm bound to make a mistake here and there, I'm still learning too' she reassured herself. Kissing him, she set him down in the stroller and buckled him back up. The little boy reached up for the snake doll, eyes still watery and face blotchy from his crying.
Naruto melted at the sight. Handing him the toy, she quickly put the dog plush back on the shelf.
Takeo proved hard to find something for. Her eldest son did not react to or reach out to any of the toys in the boys isle. Resolving to come back, they moved on to the girls toys.
Naruto was examining some barbies when Takeo spoke. "That" the little boy demanded, pointing at a baby doll with blue eyes and long blonde hair. Naruto looked back in forth in confusion a few times.
"Take-chan you want a doll?" the blonde asked with confusion.
Takeo nodded his expression serious.
Naruto frowned. "Why a doll?" the blonde asked, at a loss.
"Want. Like mamma" he answered, repeatedly pointing at the doll.
Naruto was simultaneously touched and apprehensive. 'Boys don't really play with dollies...'
As Naruto studied him, Takeo seemed to finally sense her reluctance. His expression darkened slightly. "Bad?" the toddler asked.
Naruto shook her head quickly. "No. Not bad. Mommy was just surprised" she answered. Decision made, she handed Takeo the doll, which he clutched possessively.
Satomi ended up being the easiest to please. The little girl pointed at a red-haired baby doll. "Want pwease" she asked cutely, making Naruto smile.
"Alright. Mi-chan you are a good girl aren't you? Saying please and everything" she praised handing the tot her doll. Returning to the front of the store Naruto found Daiku bent over a cross-word.
Clearing her throat to get his attention, she spoke. "Are you sure you don't mind Daiku-san?" she asked hesitantly.
The old man shooed her with his hands. "Positive. Now you get going. Too nice a day to spend it in here with an old man like me" he replied, smiling.
Naruto nodded, thanking him once more and leaving.
From the position of the sun, Naruto could tell it was close to lunch-time. Making a split-second decision, she steered the stroller to the Inn. 'We'll get lunch at the Inn and I'll get to catch up with Mika'.
The bell above the door jingled when she entered. Naruto scanned the place noting how little changed in her absence. Naruto straightened at the sound of footsteps.
Mika turned the corner, silver hair in a messy bun. Her friend looked haggard, haggard and pregnant Naruto noted.
Realizing who her customer was, Mika grinned. "Natsumi!" the short woman cheered, rapidly approaching Naruto and wrapping her in a tight hug.
Naruto smiled. "You're pregnant Mika?" she asked curiously, looking down at the baby bump pressed against her stomach.
Mika pulled away with a chuckle. "What can I say. If you can pop three out at a time I can certainly deal with having three" she joked, smirking. "Speaking of! Where have you been? You worried us. You've hardly been seen in the last year except for a few quick grocery stops" Mika scolded.
Naruto laughed. "Sorry to worry you Mika" she stated, ignoring Mika's shout of "I wasn't worried". "I've been very busy, the babies were a lot of work at the beginning. It was too hard to bring them everywhere with me and I didn't want to leave them alone long" the kunoichi lied. 'Not that I'd ever leave them alone' Naruto remarked inwardly.
Mika nodded. "You're so self-reliant Natsumi. You can rely on others you know?" Mika asked with exasperation.
Naruto nodded. "I know. Thank you" she replied gratefully. The seriousness of the atmosphere dropped and Mika immediately noticed the stroller and it's occupants.
The tiny woman let out a squeal that startled all three children and made Naruto jump.
"They are adorable Natsumi! The little girl looks like a tiny replica of you!" Mika said excitedly, examining the tots.
Naruto laughed. 'In this henge she does' the blonde agreed.
"Come on. I'll get you some lunch and you can introduce me" Mika, ordered marching into the kitchen.
Naruto smirked at her pregnant friend and obediently followed.

Naruto ended up spending most of the day with Mika. Aiko and Daishi we're just returning from school when the blonde decided to take her leave. She was only allowed to leave after she promised repeatedly to visit again. The blonde decided to cut their day out short and return home because all three kids were exhausted.
After getting home the blonde fed and changed the babies. The whole family took a nap in her bed.
Naruto woke up 2 hours later and after a nice super she settled the babies on a blanket in the living room for some play time.
Naoto was noisily playing with his stuffed animals, a curious Satomi watching him, her own doll discarded. Naruto snickered as Naoto smashed his snake doll and dinosaur doll together. 'I'm not sure if they are fighting or being really friendly'.
Takeo chose to sit next to Naruto quietly. The little boy held his doll, leaning against his mother's side and playing with the doll's blonde hair.
The entrance shoji slid open quietly, Sasuke striding in. "Tadaima" the Uchiha stated simply, hands in his pockets.
Naruto's expression brightened. "Okaeri. Teme! You didn't tell me you were coming" she said happily, unable to hide her pleasure at the unexpected visit.
Sasuke smirked. "What I can't just decide to show up?" he drawled, moving to sit on the blanket. The Uchiha male picked up Satomi, placing her on his lap and petting her hair.
Naruto returned his smirk. "Great you can meet my boyfriend, he's upstairs!" she replied exuberantly, without missing a beat.
Sasuke choked, biting his tongue. The Uchiha's head swung towards her, face full of shock. In seconds his shock turned into anger, stare moving towards the upstairs.
Naruto couldn't hold it anymore and cracked up. Her laughter drew all three babies attention. Naoto crawled over to Sasuke handing the Uchiha the snake doll making Sasuke smirk. Takeo pushed his way onto her lap. Naruto hugged him, still laughing.
"Hn. You think you're hilarious don't you Dobe?" the Uchiha sneered. Turning his attention back to Satomi he stated, "Don't ever turn out like your Ka-san".
Naruto scowled. With a little hmph, she turned her attention to Takeo. The little boy was intently watching Sasuke, his doll clutched in the crook of his arm.
Feeling a stare, Sasuke met Takeo's dark eyes. The older Uchiha male examined the little boy his expression tightening. "Dobe. Why does Takeo have a doll?" he asked, giving Naruto a dirty look.
"Hm? Oh he wanted it and I couldn't say no. Takeo's usually so serious and he doesn't play with toys often. I'm just glad he was interested in something" Naruto answered, brushing her fingers through Takeo's spikes.
Sasuke frowned. "You need to take it away" he stated solemnly, drawing Naruto's full attention.
"What? No way Teme!" Naruto replied, glaring at him for the suggestion.
Sasuke glowered at her. "Yes Dobe. Boys do not play with dolls. You should know this, you were a boy before. Uchiha boys definitely do not play with dolls" he retorted, daring her to argue.
Never one to back down, Naruto scoffed. "I know that Teme, but he's still little so I don't see a problem with it" Naruto declared, turning away as if closing the argument. She resumed her petting of Takeo's hair.
"Naruto, my nephew is not allowed to play with a doll" Sasuke stated in a no-nonsense tone.
"Sasuke, my SON can play with whatever he likes!" Naruto challenged, the two locking eyes in a heated glaring contest.
Picking up on the rising tension directed at his mother, Takeo dropped his doll. The little boy clutched his mother tightly, sending Sasuke a chilling glare. "No" Takeo stated firmly.
Sasuke's glare dropped in surprise. His eyes moved from the toddler to Naruto's equally surprised expression. The two shared a 'what the hell' look.
Noticing where Sasuke's gaze went. Takeo stood up on Naruto's lap, drawing a wince from her. "Mine" he snapped moodily attempting to shield his mother.
Feeling the angry vibes her son was putting out, Naruto could tell he was serious as a heart attack. Standing quickly, she scooped Takeo up. "Hey, hey none of that" she chided drawing her son's attention. "Sorry Sasuke. He has never done this before" she apologized.
Her son buried his face against her neck, clutching possessively to his mother. 'He's probably just tired...still, Takeo has never gotten cranky'. "You know what? I think it's bed time" the blonde stated decisively. She carried Takeo upstairs, Sasuke grabbing Naoto and Satomi.
Sasuke was quickly able to get them ready for bed. After putting them in their cribs he even went downstairs and got their milk. Giving them their bottles, he handed Naruto Takeo's.
Her eldest son refused to be put down. No matter what Naruto said. Giving Sasuke a grateful look. Her old team-mate nodded, turning and heading downstairs.
Naruto had to lay down in her bed to get him to even start to relax. It was an hour later that she was even able to extract herself from him. The toddler had stubbornly fought sleep, until he couldn't anymore. Usually a light sleeper, he didn't so much as twitch when she put him in the crib proving how much he exhausted himself.
When she finally got downstairs she found Sasuke watching T.V. She collapsed net to him, laying her head in his lap and stretching out. "That was just strange" she commented, drained from the day.
"He's never done that before?" Sasuke asked, frowning at the tired blonde.
Naruto's eyes opened, meeting his gaze. "Never. Takeo's usually quiet and very peaceful. He never gets worked up. That was like a complete transformation, he was downright hostile with you" she stated, tearing up at the memory.
Sasuke's expression softened. "Hey don't cry Dobe. He was just defending you. There is nothing wrong with that" he said, trying to calm her down.
"You can't say it isn't strange though" she retorted. After a short silence, she continued quietly "He said that doll looked like me, that's why he wanted it".
Sasuke frowned, shooting her a knowing look.
Sitting up Naruto frowned. "I'll be the first to admit he's a mamma's boy, but Take has always been gentle and well-behaved" she defended earnestly.
Sasuke nodded so she'd lower her mama bear hackles. "That's true. When you consider that, his behavior is quite normal" he stated calmly.
Naruto scowled. "How so?" she questioned, her expression peeved.
Sasuke smirked. "If you can't figure it out Dobe then I won't be the one to tell you" he drawled, making her glare.
"Teme!" she shouted, but the blonde relaxed. 'If Sasuke-teme isn't worried then I have nothing to worry about'.
The two settled into a comfortable silence before Sasuke worked up the nerve to break it. "There are some things that I've been keeping from you" he stated quietly, his eyes meeting hers.
Naruto's blood turned to ice at the statement. "Is it Konoha? It's not Sakura-chan or Kakashi-sensei is it?! I need to go back right now" she rambled, working herself up into a frenzy.
Sasuke latched onto her wrist, pulling her back down to the couch. "Naruto. Konoha, Kakashi and Sakura are fine" he stated firmly to calm her down. He continued before she could even begin to feel embarrassed at her over-reaction. "After the babies were born I was in contact with Itachi. I learned the truth" he stated seriously.
Naruto frowned. "While I don't understand why you would hide that from me, I'm happy to hear that. This is good news, so why so serious?" the teen asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Itachi was ordered to kill the clan" Sasuke clarified, watching her put the pieces together.
Naruto's face darkened. The blonde pulled her wrist away harshly, "There is no way that is the truth. Konoha would-the Old man would never-" she started vehemently.
Sasuke cut her off. "I need you to listen" he stated raising his voice to get her attention. At her reluctant nod he added "This will take forever if you constantly interrupt. So wait til the end okay?" he asked.
Naruto nodded jerkily once more, taking a seat across from him on the coffee table and crossing her arms. For some reason the blonde did not think she would like this story.
"The clan was going to attempt a village takeover. They wanted to use Itachi's position as an anbu member to spy on the Hokage. In a twist they never even contemplated, Itachi went to the Hokage with their plans. Itachi didn't want war. The Hokage in turn had Itachi spy on the clan and report his findings. One night the council-minus Sarutobi-summoned Itachi. They ordered him to eradicate the clan, giving him the order in the name of the Hokage" he explained, watching comprehension and then fury dawn on Naruto's features.
The blonde felt sick to her stomach. 'I knew the council was corrupt, but I never thought it was to this extent'.
Letting out a ragged breathe, Sasuke continued. "Itachi was approached by the Akatsuki member calling himself Madara. He helped Itachi complete his mission. Afterwards, Itachi went to the Hokage. Sarutobi had no knowledge of ever giving a mission to Itachi. Itachi was duped by the council elders Homura Mitokado, Koharu Utatane and Shimamura Danzo. Having already completed the mission it was too late. Itachi reported about the strange man who approached him, asking Itachi to join Akatsuki. With no other choice, Sarutobi asked Itachi to leave the village promising in exchange to protect me. He left that night with Tobi. The village elders got away Scot-free and the whole thing was covered up. Itachi went along with it to keep me from hating Konoha. He believes he deserves to die at my hand for killing the clan. It was only recently that I convinced him otherwise" Sasuke finished darkly, fists clenching.
Naruto remained silent, absorbing it all in and choosing her words very carefully. "Sasuke. If we can find proof we can get rid of the council for good. Granny Tsunade has been trying to do that since she was appointed" the blonde explained, trying to contain her excitement.
"She won't have to worry about getting rid of them. Their deaths are mine alone" Sasuke stated firmly.
Naruto frowned. 'Of course, revenge' she thought sadly. "Sasuke if you do that, there will be no getting you back into the village" the blonde stated, meeting his eyes seriously.
Sasuke nodded. "Itachi suffered for many years, compared to that village exile is nothing" he answered.
"I get where you are coming from Sasuke" she started, at his look she added, "No really I do. Hear me out. If you go after the elders execution style there will be no one alive who can clear Itachi's name. Not only would you not be able to return home, but neither would Itachi. He would continue being hunted by hunter-nin for the rest of his life." she elaborated, her expression softening at his distraught expression.
"They can't just get away with this. ' !" the Uchiha gritted out, teeth clenched.
Naruto's eyes glowed fiercely, "They won't Sasuke. Those three will definitely pay the price of their actions. The right way" she stated, tone absolute.
Sasuke nodded, not questioning the blonde. "There's more" he stated, drawing her attention once more.
"I've been in contact with Itachi this whole time through summons. He killed Kisame, not me. He sent me the information about where Deidara would be and gave me information which I sent to Konoha. Kakashi and Sakura were a part of the team that killed Zetsu" he listed.
Naruto smiled. "Team Kakashi!" she chirped, smiling. "I wonder how they are..."she trailed off wistfully.
"Only three members remain. Tobi, Pein and Konan. Itachi was forced to abandon Akatsuki. He's with my team now" the Uchiha stated, watching her expression.
Naruto smiled. "That's good Teme. Sounds like things are looking up. I may be able to go home soon" she said optimistically.
"Naruto, Itachi is going to be hunted now that Akatsuki is after him. It's as dangerous for him, if not more so than for you. He can't stay with me long-term. Our joining up needs to be kept secret. They won't be expecting us to work together when we make our move" he explained. Taking a deep breath he continued "Itachi needs to be undetectable and easily within reach. Do you understand what I'm saying?" he asked slowly, holding his breath.
Naruto was filled with dread, she very much understood what Sasuke was saying and she didn't like it one bit. The Uchiha could see it too and he hurried to continue before she could react. "This house is the safest place for him to hide. I know I'm asking a lot of you Naruto-".
Having heard enough, Naruto cut him off. "Yes Sasuke you are. Too much, in fact!" she snapped, standing quickly and pacing away.
Sasuke stood as well. "I need Itachi to take out Akatsuki and you need Akatsuki taken out. Please consider this logically Naruto. It will only be until we're ready to make our move. Together, Itachi and I will be able to beat Akatsuki. All three of us can go home. Naruto, we'll be able to go back to Konoha once their threat is gone" he explained, keeping his voice level and persuasive. Noting that he now had her consideration at least, he pressed on " Please do this for me. Itachi won't cause any trouble and he will be added protection for the kids when you're training".
The blonde scoffed. 'As if I'd leave my babies with him!' she thought heatedly. She scowled angrily, crossing her arms. "Only until you make your move?" she questioned.
Sasuke smiled lightly, nodding his head in confirmation.
Seeing his smile her expression darkened even more. "You told me all of this tonight because you planned to ask me this from the start" she stated, daring him to deny it.
Sasuke nodded.
"You're going to include me in all plans from now on. If you hide something from me again it's not going to be pretty Sasuke. I'm going to help take out the Akatsuki too, I want to go home. That's the only reason I'm agreeing to this" Naruto stated in a take-it-or-leave-it voice.
Sasuke nodded to all of her terms. 'Itachi won't be pleased with Naruto wanting to join the battle. I'm not surprised though. Naruto is hardly one to sit at home and let others fight her battles'.
"I am not pleased with this one bit Sasuke. There will be ground rules. We'll talk more tomorrow. I think you should leave now" she stated tiredly, turning her back and walking up the stairs.
Despite feeling upset at her dismissal Sasuke couldn't blame her. He knew asking Naruto this would hurt her deeply. Pushing his guilt aside, he steeled his resolve. This arrangement was best for everyone, Naruto included. With a poof, he disappeared.
