Chapter 11
Hey guys I'm so sorry about the late update! It's spring break (yay) and I wasn't paying attention to what day it was and forgot... Sorry. Anyway on with the story!
I don't own Twilight.
Bella POV
Alice has been buzzing with excitement all day about the dance tonight. I've been trying to hold her off all day with her trying to do my hair and such. It won't take seven hours to get ready so I see no need to get dressed up now.
"But Bella we have to make sure you look absolutely perfect! First impressions matter," Alice whined.
"Like I care what they think," I mumble.
"Alice, leave her alone, Bella could go in a potato sack and still look stunning," Edward said.
I rolled my eyes and smiled.
"I'm going to go... upstairs," and I fled.
I hid from Alice for the rest of the day. I knew it was pointless since she can see the future and all, but I tried. Around four that afternoon, I decided to surrender and headed towards Alice's room.
"Good Bella you're just in time, I'm just about finished with Rose; why don't you change," Alice said.
I left the room and changed, and headed back to the room where Alice sat me down and started on my make up while Rose started doing my hair. We all chatted and laughed while they worked, and even Esme came up to do my nails. Alice kept my make-up simple, letting my vampire beauty do the rest, while my hair was done up elegantly.
"Perfect!" Alice said, clapping, and I did a twirl for them.
"Oh girls, you all look so beautiful!" Esme gushed. "Come downstairs so we can take some pictures."
We went downstairs and saw everyone waiting for us. Edward greeted me at the bottom and kissed my hand, "you look amazing!"
"Thanks," I replied, smiling shyly.
"Okay, let's take some pictures of you guys!" Carlisle said.
Esme and Carlisle took pictures of us. It started out serious, we did some couple shots, girls, boys, group and then we started to do some silly ones.
"Okay, I think that's enough," Esme said after taking some silly photos of Emmett and I. "You don't want to be late." Alice let out a small gasp.
"Oh no we have to hurry!"
"Alice, relax," Jasper said. We all piled in our cars and drove off.
"Nervous?" Edward asked while we drove.
"...No."
"Good, but if there's anything, don't worry, we're all here for you."
"Don't you think it would cause a big scene if you had to drag your girlfriend away from prom before she killed everyone?" I asked jokingly.
"Not funny Bella... But yes it would, but we won't get to that point... Anyway here we are." I looked out the car and saw lots of humans all dressed up and heading towards a building. I breathed in lightly to test myself and I felt fine.
"I'm ready," I said.
Edward gave me a small smile before rushing out and opening my door to help me out. We started to walk towards the school and I noticed Alice and the others were already ahead of us. Alice turned around and waved in our direction, and a few people turned around to see what she was waving at; and then the staring and whispering started. I simply ignored them all and headed inside with Edward and joined everyone at our table. It was hard not to hear some of the comments being made about us; I guess Edward was right: he did have a lot of admirers. I tried to contain myself and let out a low growl.
"Easy tiger," Edward said, grinning. I heard another comment about some people thinking Edward was gay until he showed up with me and our table burst out laughing; Edward frowned. I noticed a small nervous group trying to figure out who I was when a girl volunteered to come to our table and talk to us. She looked very nervous while approaching.
"What did you guys do to make these people so afraid of you guys?" I said jokingly.
"Nothing, they're just smart," Edward commented as the girl got closer.
"Um hey guys," the girl said nervously, "I'm Jessica," she said to me, "are you new here?"
"Yes, I'm Bella, Edward's girlfriend," I emphasized the girlfriend part to her, "I'll be starting up school in September."
"Oh... Well it was nice talking to you guys," Jessica said before hurrying off.
We laughed when she left and started talking about random stuff and laughed at stories from all of the high schools they attended. Once the dancing started, Edward led me to the dance floor and we danced away. The music was really different than I was used to, but I didn't mind, I was having too much fun with Edward. He spun me around and did other moves with me, it wasn't that much different than how I used to dance, but it was modernized. I didn't pay much attention to everyone around us, but some of the dancing was very strange. After a while, all the smells were getting a bit much for me so we went outside to get some air.
"Are you having fun?" Edward asked.
"The best," I replied, grinning. Even though people keep staring and talking about us, the evening wasn't that bad. We walked to a gazebo when a slow song started. Edward pulled me close and we started to dance again, but slower.
"Did I tell you that you look amazing tonight?" Edward said.
I pretended to think for a second before replying. "I don't think you did," I teased.
"Why don't I show you how I feel," he said before proceeding to kiss me. After our heated make out session, we started to head back to the main dance floor and danced for a bit longer before heading back home.
"So how was the dance?" Esme asked.
"Didn't have any difficulties?" Carlisle asked at the same time.
"The dance was really fun, and I think I did pretty good," I replied.
"Well I'm glad it went so well," Esme beamed, and I smiled in return.
"I'm glad too. Well I'm going to go change." Edward and I headed upstairs and changed.
"Do you want to go to the meadow?" Edward asked, grabbing my waist.
"Race you!" I yelled and ran off. Edward let me have a small head start but easily caught up and beat me. "Cheater," I mumbled. Edward laughed and pulled me down to the ground. We looked at the stars and started pointing out random shapes and constellations. Life was good.
I hope you guys liked it! :) Leave a review!
