Chapter Eleven: The Onslaught

Inside of the Empire, walking down the alleyway Lubbock, Hiei and Tatsumi were walking through the long path.

"So what do you guys plan on doing, after everything's over?" Lubbock asked both Hiei and Tatsumi.

"Don't know, never really thought about." Tatsumi responded.

"Really then, so how're you Mine doing?" Hiei asked, with a smirk on his face.

"What're you talking about?!" Tatsumi exclaimed, his face was turning red. "Tsk, what about you Lubbock?"

"I'm going to keep running my bookshop. Someday I'll expand it, and eventual I'll turn it into a national franchise." Lubbock explained with a smirk on his face. "And after I do that, I'll propose to Miss Najenda."

"Yea, that sounds like you." Hiei responded, as he walked forward.

"Well, what about you and Akame?" Lubbock asked as he wrapped his arm around Hiei's shoulder.

"I-I have no idea what you're talking about." Hiei answered, with a slight hint of embarrassment.

"Oh, come on don't think we never noticed the looks you'd give each other." Lubbock answered, as started making kissy faces at both of them.

"Uh, excuse me are you with…Night Raid?" A girl around their age asked.

The three of them quickly separated from each other.

"Are you with the resistance?" Hiei asked.

The girl shook her head and she started leading them towards the inside of the palace.

"It's surprising for someone about you to be a part of the resistance." Lubbock stated.

"My father was in charge of the emperor's education. Until the prime minister framed him for murder and both my parents were imprisoned." The girl explained as they were rushing towards the room.

"So that mean there are other members of the revolutionary army are here?" Tatsumi asked.

"Is that the reason why we were chosen?" Lubbock asked.

As the four of them arrived in front of a small building. The girl walked up to the door and started knocking on the door, but there was no answer.

"Hey, is something wrong?" Lubbock asked as the three of them stepped out of the bushes.

"There's usually someone on the other side…" The girl responded.

Hiei placed his hand over his nose in disgust. Lubbock looked on the ground and saw blood in the corner, Lubbock quickly opened the door. Everyone inside were dead, the girl let out a loud scream.

"Did they…find out?" Tatsumi asked.

But at that moment their body start glowing with an orange light.

"Everyone, run!" Lubbock shouted.

Hiei grabbed the girl and everyone rushed outside before the building exploded. Outside were six hooded figures surrounded then and in front of them was a man sitting down in front of them.

"Took you long enough, and you black haired kid. You have good senses, you were able to smell the blood." A mysterious voice said behind them.

"Not just that, I smelled a familiar putrid odor of yours, you were the one who sent Tatsumi and Esdeath to that island." Hiei said glaring at the man behind him.

"Ha, I thought that guy looked familiar. Well, I got bored waiting for you guy. How dare you keep the Great Shura waiting?" Shura asked with that overconfident look.

The three of them circled around the girl and pointed their weapons at the soldiers and Shura.

"Hey, are you responsible for those abominations. If so then why?" Tatsumi asked as he pointed his sword at Shura.

"Oh, that so what I was bored. That's what people are for, they're nothing but tools for my amusement." Shura responded with a demonic grin. "I hate being bored, what's wrong with that?"

"You, bastard!" Tatsumi shouted.

He began charging at Shura, Hiei grabbed Tatsumi and pulled him back. At that moment, a large burst of lightning struck the ground kicking up dust, towering over them was the empire's commanding general Budo.

"I thought some rats snuck in here." Budo said looking down on them. "Huh, you look familiar." Hiei glared at him, Budo recognized that glare on Hiei's face. "You're Dagon's kid aren't you?"

"Good timing, Old Man Lightning." Shura called out. "I'll leave them to you."

"Tsk, I don't need you to tell me that." Budo stated as he walked towards the four of them. "You've wronged the empire, taking the lives of many of our soldiers. Your fate will be determined by my Teigu, Thunder God's Rage: Adramelech." Budo called.

He punched downwards, bringing down a large bolt of lightning. Tatsumi blocked the attack with Incursio's Key, but was still sent flying by Budo's attack.

"Tatsumi." Lubbock and Hiei called out. "Don't try blocking his attack with Incursio's Key." Hiei called out.

Lubbock ran to assist Tatsumi but was caught in a battle with Shura.

"Don't get involved." Shura ordered the soldiers behind Hiei and the girl.

"Hiei, assist Tatsumi. I can handle this guy." Lubbock responded as Shura began teleported around him.

"Go help your friends I'll be alright." The girl stated.

Hiei ran towards Budo as Tatsumi activated his Incursio. Budo launched a large blast of electricity, Hiei unsheathed Getsuga and redirected Budo's attack. Budo appeared over Hiei, charging his fist with electricity.

He punched downwards at full force, Hiei blocked his attack. The electricity generated began running throughout his body. Tatsumi ran and punched Budo in the face at full force, but the attack barely fazed him.

"You, both of you what are your names?" Budo asked as he looked down on both of them.

"Tatsumi/Hiei." Both Tatsumi and Hiei answered.

"Both of you are strong warriors, but anyone who defies the emperor will die by my hand." Budo shouted and a large flash of lightning hit both of them.

Hiei grabbed Tatsumi and both of them dodge the full onslaught of the attack, but they were still fazed by the attack. Hiei glared at Budo and charged at him, sending out a barrage of slashes. Budo blocked all of his attacks with his gauntlets.

"You've got great instincts, but it seems one of you are about to die." Budo stated.

Hiei turned around and saw Lubbock preparing to fall down to the ground. Hiei ignored Budo and ran towards Lubbock.

"I said no one's dying, and I meant it!" Hiei called out.

He threw Getsuga into the ground, he jumped on top of Getsuga's hilt and used it as a foothold. He jumped in the sky at full force and caught Lubbock, he looked back and saw the soldiers were seizing Getsuga.

"Tatsumi, we're getting out of here!" Hiei shouted as Tatsumi was fighting with Budo.

"No, get Lubbock out of here! I'll hold them off." Tatsumi shouted.

Hiei gritted his teeth as he landed on the ground.

"Dammit! Tatsumi, don't you dare die." Hiei called out.

He ran at full speed out of the palace, carrying Lubbock on his shoulders. Hiei looked up and saw a group of soldiers blocking his path.

"Get out of my way!" Hiei demanded.

At that moment the soldiers in front of him were buried underground. Hiei's eyes widened he turned his head and saw Dagon smiling at him.

"It'd be boring if you'd died, so come back and retrieve Getsuga." Dagon said, wearing a large grin.

Hiei passed by him, Hiei started running faster and faster towards the base. Outside of Night Raid's Alternative Hideout, Mine was sneaking up the stairs trying not to be detected.

"Don't try and stop me. I'm going to save Tatsumi." Mine demanded.

She looked up seeing Leone, Akame and Hiei standing in front of her.

"It's weird before you'd be the one trying to stop me." Akame responded, with a smile.

"We're going with you, if all of us go together we'll have a better chance at getting him back. Boss, already gave us permission." Leone responded, with a smirk on his face.

"Incursio is needed to sneak into the castle without being detected. And as Hiei stated, Getsuga is the only Teigu that can stop the Empire's 2nd Strongest." Boss answered, with a smirk on her face.

Mine smiled, but she looked in Hiei's direction.

"Hiei, why're you going? You don't even have your Teigu with you." Mine asked, looking at Hiei's calm expression.

"Weapon or Not, I'm not abandoning my friend. Plus, my abilities aren't just limited to my Teigu." Hiei answered as he clenched his fist. "We're bringing Tatsumi back home."
